He’s used to thinking fast and using his wits, but when it’s a whole new world he’s thrust into, does this private investigator have what it takes to survive?Jed Strait has let his nemesis, Elsa Schwartz, get away one time too many. Now, he needs to track her down before she can do real damage—and that means following her into an alternate world where all the rules are different. But pursuing Elsa means putting everything else on hold—his business, his latest case, and the relationship with Sherise that’s now moving in surprising directions.
Worse, his hold on reality is starting to slip, and if he keeps chasing Elsa, he runs the risk of losing what little ability he has to cling to the world he’s made his own. Faced with the choice of letting Elsa rise to power in an unsuspecting world or chasing her down and losing his chance at happiness, Jed Strait can do nothing more than let the notes play out in a deadly dance called The Jetpack Boogie.

Richard Levesque was born near Montreal,Canada and grew up in Southern California.
He began writing while in college, publishing several pieces in college journals while working on his undergraduate degree at Cal Poly Pomona. After finishing his Master's Degree in 1990, he focused more on teaching than writing for a few years, eventually completing his Ph.D. at UC Riverside in 2000. His dissertation was on Hollywood novelists of the 1920s and 1930s.
Since 1999, he has been part of the English Department at Fullerton College and turned again to writing a few years ago. He primarily writes science fiction but continues to have a strong interest in early Hollywood and Los Angeles history and culture and often works those themes into his writing.
When not writing or grading papers, he spends time with his wife and daughter, works on his collection of old science fiction pulps and tries to be better than a mediocre guitar player.
The Jetpack Boogie finds Jed going after his old nemesis, the Nazi Elsa Schwartz again, but this time he has to physically crossover to the world that she has escaped to. Not just travelling between worlds virtually, but this time in person which brings with it a whole range of new challenges. Not only does he arrive in a world which is considerably different to the one he is now occupying, he also gets to meet another version of himself, Jetpack Jed. Can this version of Jed help him in his quest? Will Jed finally get to corner Elsa? All questions will, as usual, be answered in the course of the book. Needless to say, it is a great page turner and you will reach the end much quicker than you would wish!
Book 4 in the crossover case files finds Jed Strait again going up against one of his doppelganger counterparts . This time Jed is the one who initiates the interaction. This was a very good well-written story. I liked this book a lot.
