In her debut poetry collection, Erin Cherie explores themes of childhood, mental health, love, loss, family, heartbreak and more in a beautifully raw and inspiring way, explaining how and why she's spent a lifetime chasing sunsets, and how sometimes the light you need has always been inside of yourself.
I’ll be honest - when I started reading this book, I didn’t think it was for me, but when I picked it up a few weeks later when I was in a more emotional, and perhaps undistracted headspace, I absolutely loved it.
Erin’s way of conveying such confusing emotions in such few words amazes me. I love her lines ‘I’m so heavy, I’m so empty.’ , ‘how do I smooth out my rough edges without erasing all of me?’ and ‘those hardest to love need the most of it’.
A beautiful read, and such a quality book. I love the matte cover and the thick pages. My only ‘complaint’ if you could even call it that, are that the poems aren’t titled. It’s not necessary but just something I personally like.
Highly recommend this gorgeous collection. Thanks Erin for the way your words made me feel.
I have no words for this book. My girlfriend got me this as she thought I’d relate and boy did I? These poems made me cry. I am so grateful for this book and every word.
