Sally Warner is a writer of fiction for children and young adults and of books on creativity. She made the Lily series and Emma series for children's books. Sally Warner was born in New York City and grew up in Connecticut and California, where her family moved when she was eight years old.

In this fifth installment in the Emma chapter book series, Emma sets her sights on winning an award in the first-ever Winter Games Day at her school. Good example of working towards a goal and Emma's behavior after she wins not one, but two awards exemplifies excellent sportsmanship.

Since Emma wants to be a nature scientist when she grows up, animal facts are tucked into insets periodically throughout the book, where that animal is mentioned.

This book was ok to read, it was not one of my favorite books but anyway my book was about this girl named Emma and she is the main character. This setts place at their school and she has a friend and her name is Annie pat and she has a brother that Emma loves and Emma comes over all threw time and she laughs that Annie pat's mom has to watch the baby Murphy. The school is trying to make games and Emma wants to be excellent because she want her dad to pay more attention to her. Emma was happy after her dad payed more attention to her.

I think that Emma should not be jelious of her step sister just because she thinks her father is going to mainly like her step sister.She dont need to prove to any body else that she do not have talent. Just because your step sister does more talented things like horseback riding and win silver trophies doesnt mean that you got to compete to see who mainly is going to get the most trophies.

Great story with a great message. I like Emma! :)
There were some funny lines, like:

"Well, she’d really like to be one now, only grown-ups don’t let kids do cool stuff like that. They keep those jobs for themselves."

and

"Grown-ups are never as strict as kids would be if they had that kind of power, that’s what I think."
