Welcome to the Blood Bond Agency, where we take finding your perfect undead mate very seriously.
Left holding the fort at her grandmother's marriage agency, vampire-born Eva De Silva is glad all she has to do is babysit the business until Georgia’s return.
Unfortunately, any thoughts of a quiet, stress-free time hemorrhage on her first night in the hot seat. Three drop-ins, the theft of a priceless family relic, and being framed for a spate of murdered backpackers is not what she signed up for.
If that wasn’t enough, one of the drop-ins is none other than infamous playboy Dominik Zilonka, vampire voted least likely to be in the market for a coffin for two. So why then is he there? And why is he lying through his fangs about wanting her to find him a wife?
Will Eva recover the family heirloom and find the real murderer before she’s convicted of a crime she didn’t commit? Or will she be responsible for Dominik being locked up in her stead? With her feelings toward him being what they are, she’s not keen on either option.
I read an ARC of this cozy vampire mystery and loved it!
Why has no one else thought of a vampire marriage agency?! If vampires who don't shine like diamonds are your thing, then this is the book for you.
There were points where I nearly spat out my coffee I was laughing so hard. I especially enjoyed the characterisation of the bumbling police and the pushy parents. I think every reluctant bride (or groom) can identify with pushy parents and societal expectations.
There was enough mystery to keep you guessing and the plot twists caught me by surprise.
If you've read the Frankie B - The Ghost Ship series, there are a couple of characters you'll recognise, but this book takes the mystery a step further than the Frankie B books. I've always preferred vampires over witches (shhh, don't tell Frankie B!).
I can well recommend Dead and Married and I hope that the author gives us more from the Blood Bond Agency. There's something truly entertaining about vampires trying to find a "life" companion!
Eva is left in charge of her Grandmother’s match making agency - for vampires.
Then all hell breaks loose - the agencies system is hacked, the family heirloom stolen, innocent humans are turning up dead on her doorstep, a rival families matriarch’s son is turning her head, a corrupt police chief and demanding vampires wanting their perfect bond match now!
Eva’s character is sassy, slightly bumbling but loveable. Dominik is broody, suspicious and delicious. Chuck in a few female besties to provide banter and overprotectiveness and I really enjoyed this quick, easy read.
I was given a copy by the publisher and all opinions are my own.
I was sold in this book as soon as I saw the premise. C'mon, a vampire dating agency? So much potential for mischief and mayhem. Low did not disappoint. Snappy dialogue, great characters, lots of comic action, some romance, some suspense. Lots of fun!
