They say to always watch the quiet ones, because you never know when they might snap.Shatina is a young woman with a troubled past and present. She lives in the shadows of her fraternal twin sister, who sucked up all the beauty genes, her best friend, whose seductive charm will sway any boy who listens, and her cousin, who is more than a knockout, but a force to be reckoned with.Shatina feels like she has nothing going for her but her grades and her full scholarship to a four year institution of her choice… until someone comes along to threaten that.Shatina has faced threats before, and little does anyone know, she has gained vindication over all of her enemies, one by one. Except this last one might be a bit more of a challenge than she bargained for.
To be honest, this wasn't the worst thing I've ever read but it felt very young and surface level. It was a fast paced read which I always appreciate in novellas, but I just couldn't get into our MCs head. I couldn't connect with her the way I wanted to. There were also some plot points (particularly in the end) where a lot was glossed over and didn't make sense, and I had to suspend my disbelief a lot.
However, I do see the potential for a more structured story with stronger characters as the series progresses.
I will say that this doesn't read as psychological thriller; it feels more like a suspense thriller to me.
Overall, I still am intrigued to continue on to book two and this was fairly entertaining.
I let this sit on my tbr way too long. Had I known how good it was, I would’ve moved it up sooner. Tina was a special character who left me shaking my head with her every decision. Her newfound friend was just what she deserved, yet I felt sorry for her because of the demands he placed on her. I enjoyed being in Tina’s messy head, and can’t wait to see what happens next in part 2.
I really liked the follow-up from the Author' Freestyle Friday with Ebony ICU Reading and her group. Guys pick it up and be ready for the twists and turns!
This book is a novelette and it’s less than 100 pages so the storyline moves very swiftly. We are pulled into the world of Shatina, a young woman who has been bullied her entire life and has been forced to live in the shadows of her fraternal twin sister and her friends who don’t have to worry about being teased about their looks
Besides her good grades and a full scholarship to college, she doesn’t have much going on in her life until she finally takes a chance at love. That chance is taken from Shatina by someone close to her and they will soon realize that she may be quiet, but she is not a pushover like most have been led to believe. Shatina has secrets…and only the people who have wronged her in the past have any idea of who Shatina really is and what she’s really capable of. Shatina is quiet but the voice that guide’s her sinister revenge plots talks enough for the both of them. One thing’s for sure: This novelette will make you think twice.
For me, this was more of a suspense thriller. It will keep you on edge wondering what the heck is this girl up to now?? This would be a great book to read in between heavier reads as it offers a reprieve from books that make you think and reflect a lot. This is a good old fashioned who dun it story that moves at a swift pace, so swift that some portions of it feel rushed. I think this would be a great story for young adults to read because oftentimes they think they are invincible and they never realize how their words can impact someone in the long run.
This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. This book was easy to read and I connected with the characters. The suspense was great and kept you wanting to know what would happen next. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
When it ended I was upset thinking she left me hanging, like that’s it, then I realized this was book 1, so there was more thank god! LOL. I can’t wait to see what else Shatina has up her sleeves.
Title: Should Have Thought Twice: A Psychological Thriller Author: Tanisha Stewart Publisher: T. S. Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review: "Should Have thought Twice: A Psychological Thriller" by Tanisha Stewart
My Opinion:
'Should Have Thought Twice' was an enjoyable, easy read that will keep your interest as you will be turning the pages to see what was coming next, particularly for Shatina [Tina]. The author gives the reader a thrilling, suspenseful psychological read in how the story with some read-defined believable characters will leave one in awe of it all. The story reveals how 'bullying, body shaming, and revenge seeking' happen so much in our world. One can be left feeling somewhat sorry for Shatina in how her life was sparring out. Be ready for a good read with twists and turns in this 'Psychological Thriller' story!
Should have thought twice is my first book of author Tanisha Stewart. It is written in first- person narrative format and delves into the mind of a twisted person. I liked the book well enough, but didn't really love it.
The story was taut, thrilling and even chilling to some extent. You will not be able to decide whether to root for the characters or be repulsed by them. It will make you rethink all your assumptions about people. I guess that is psychological enough.
But the story didn't capture my interest completely and was just not engaging enough. For these reasons, I am giving 4 stars for this book.

This was an awesome thriller. It's always sad to me how ppl can go about bullying someone because they different. Shatina she was a force to be wreckon with especially when it came to ppl who wronged her. Now her sister of all people should have always had her back and not try to play her for a fool. I am glad she was able to finally get a back bone once she separated from them. Max he is some kind of weirdo he needs to do his own planning and stop trying to drag others with him. I hope she doesn't listen to the voices again and that she will do what she think is right and try living out her life to big and better things. Boo you out did yourself with this book please keep them coming.
Tanisha Stewart's psychological thriller, You Should've Thought Twice, reminded me of the mental challenges some of America's youth possess when they decide to commit these school shootings. Someone did them wrong, or something happened, like bullying, that they can't overcome. Then, they harbor those feelings of hurt, anger, and revenge, and those cauldrons manifest into mass shootings. The main character, Shatina, experiences constant harassment from her earliest years that continues into high school and college. A voice inside of her head won't let the memories fade. With a lot to lose if she adheres to those thoughts, that battleground of the mind sets the stage for a riveting novella. Three stars.
Psychological Thriller Packs Some Punches This psychological thriller packs some punches in a fun quick read. It ends abruptly, leaving you wanting more. It is realistic and maintains your interest. The characters are believable, and the dialogue is snappy and appropriate to the characters. The book honestly portrays issues pertaining to bullying, body shaming, and revenge seeking. It could have been longer and delved deeper into the characters. But this psychological thriller delivers. I recommend this book.

3.5 Stars This was really tame and not as dark as I was hoping for. But with that said, this is the first book in an entire series. It makes sense that this is simply an indication of what's to come.
Shatina is likable, sensitive, and unstable. This was an origin story of someone who quietly retaliates against those who cause her harm but is firmly aware of right from wrong and does not want to cause any real damage.
Upon meeting up with a like-minded individual, she finds herself on a darker path and I'm interested in seeing were it goes.
This read like a Lifetime movie you'd watch on a grey rainy day. I liked it, but wouldn't remember the title if you asked.
Easy reading, suspenseful tale. Didn't have a lot of depth, but it is enough to make you think twice about how you treat people. In this case, a girl had been bullied all her life but no one thought this quiet, unassuming girl would hurt a fly since she never stood up for herself. She had some demons, though. I didn't think the author explored this enough, though. You don't just go through these things and move on. Decent read, though, especially considering the author stepped outside of her box.
Shatina has always been the “ugly duckling” in her friend group, but she also always been the smart and clever one as well. When people do things to Shatina, there is a voice in her head that motivates her to exact her revenge. When Shatina is betrayed by someone close to her, she’s forced to pay back someone she’d never thought would hurt her.
Stewart has penned an entertaining, fast paced thriller. The main character is well developed and relatable, yet a bit kooky. Readers will enjoy the twists and turns in this book.
I would recommend this novella to fans of ya thrillers.
Shatina is a force to be reckoned with in some circumstances. I really love the characters and I am looking forward to the second book. I cannot wait. You have truly outdone yourself again with this book. It is so much different then the other books you have written and I love it! Thanks for writing such enjoyable books and keeping me entertained during this pandemic. Keep the books coming.
I liked it. It was fast paced but at some points it came off as kind of rushed. Also, I think it was more of a suspense/thriller than a psychological thriller. Not that it was predictable or anything like that, it was just entertaining and didn't really make me think too deeply about it like I would think a psychological thriller would. I enjoyed it and read it all in one setting.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Shatina has been bullied all her life and that has taken a toll on her. Neither her twin sister Shatara nor Tamika nor Tyonne defend her. Only the voice in her head that encourages her to take revenge on everyone who hurts her. Shatina thinks about her revenge plans and develops quite well, and although her punishments are not usually too severe, she evolves, especially when she discovers the betrayal of her sister. It’s a short read and very interesting.
Shatina is not one to forgive and forget. She wouldn’t dare face her adversities directly, but they’d better watch their backs, because sooner or later…This twisted sister is sure to right their wrongs!!!
TANISHA STEWART HAS DONE IT AGAIN‼️ “Should Have Thought Twice” is a dark and suspenseful thriller that’s sure to keep readers anxiously turning the pages. Take my word…1-Click NOW & read what all my hype is about!
Good book once again. In this novel Shatina was bullied because of her appearance. She was a scholar, but was also a twin. Her sister had received all the beauty from her head to her feet literally. Being bullied had made her an evil force which had her in a state of getting even with those who hurt her. Enough said, I enjoyed reading and recommend you reading this book as well.
Great read, I really enjoyed this book. Characters were good and stuff just kept moving along. But sometimes things don't always go as planned. Only gave this book 4 stars because books keep going on in the next book. I prefer to read the whole story at one time. May read the next one or not. Still a good story.
In the mind of a bullying victim. So short and sweet yet straight to the point. I couldn’t even imagine and yes it’s the quiet ones. Twins and one is not so attractive I knew that was gon be a problem to being with. And to have to mentally go through the list of folks you “treated” for mistreating you. I loved it! And I’m going to read the next one!
My first thoughts were, “this b!+@h is crazy” but by the end of the book, I wanted her to get crazier!
Shatina has been bullied pretty much all of her life while her close people were considered beautiful. We quickly find out that Shatina is not to be played with.
Shatina was bullied. Usually you just take it and try to move on, however Shatina got her lick back, however it was too extreme and people were hurt really bad, not to take away from her hurt at all. Her sister did the ultimate betrayal. I'm glad they decided to go to separate colleges. Max shows up unexpectedly. Let's see what happens in next installment.im intrigued now!
This book was sad. Shatina had a tough go growing up. I can see why she had an alter ego develop. Her twin, though! Lord, I felt that betrayal. Max has got to be caught. Hopefully, Shatina can stay on the right path in part two because guaranteed Max is being watched still.
I chose 3 stars because although the plot was great I felt as if was just touched here and there. It wasn't what I expected for a psychological thriller, the anticipation, the drama, I just didnt feel it.
I enjoyed this read as a writer! I enjoyed how the author was able to deliver the proper amount of information without the story feeling forced or rushed. And although it was fast paced I was able fo stay interested in the main character.
