Oh my God. I got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. It managed to surpass my high expectations AND be nothing at all like I expected. Or in Newspeak "Double Plus Good." Let me preface this with an apology. If I sound stunningly inarticulate at times in this review, I can't help it. My mind is completely fried.

The book explores a fear, a fear many people hold, to where the humanity is going through the unnecessary super computerisation and robotics.. The humanity is facing a deadend..The nature becomes helpless at a moment. We are like a bunch of without a sheperd or a crowd at the night without a lamp.

The villian is humanity itself and prey as well, here appears a savior. Someone capable to rescue. It is Hanmon a special kind of robotic fellow from an Indian village. Siya the female protagonist was my favorite after Hanmon.

The thrill of the story is like, how Hanmon is going to complete his mission?
The book is an opening to a new genre, worth reading and reflecting

Hanmon: A bridge between two worlds by Subrahmanya Bhat is a SciFi book which offers very unique and innovative perspectives on robots and artificial intelligence. This story is set in the future (year 2317), and imagines the world where artificial intelligence and robots feel like an extremely real and believable part of our life.

The story gives innovative insights about the destructive effects which can be caused by these super powerful and smart robots that are not only competing with humans but are increasingly replacing humans from most professions due to their efficiency and capabilities. Hanmon, a robot created in India comes to the rescue during such disaster.

Many of the characters from the book are inspired by characters in the great Indian epic “Ramayana”. There are some influences of “Mahabharata” as well. I loved the fact that author has used certain Sanskrit verses from Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads which were relevant to the storyline. I am sure many of you must have read many SciFi books with AI as it's central theme but we don't see these books having a connection with any mythological aspects. And I guess when we do find them, the story feels top-notch.

The book also talks about the power and importance of prayers, compassion, nonviolence and humanity. It gives the message to treasure our culture & heritage and to have a meaningful and purposeful life.

There were few typos and grammatical errors in the book. The ending felt predictable but it was still a gripping read. I usually don't read SciFi but this was a great read for me.
The narration and execution has been done so amazingly that one can easily visualise all the scenarios.

If you love robots and AI then you'll want to add this SciFi book to your TBR list.

Set in India and with an interesting premise, the story leads us into a world where robots are playing a major part in the running of industrial corporations, and is good for lovers of futuristic Sci fi stories. The book is detailed and has an original storyline that would appeal to anyone who loved the movie I-robot!😏

"It does not matter what you wear, what you eat, or where you live as long as you honestly try and be responsible."

Subrahmanya Bhat explores the futuristic world of robots and machines through his science-fantasy fiction 'Hanmon: A Bridge between Two Worlds.' It explores the robotic life of Hanmon and how he saved the world from the ruins of misguided modernization and unnecessary machine-dependent life.

Every time I read any robot-indulgent books, my mind immediately goes to 'Chitti,' which happened to me with this book a few times. However, the author managed to steer the storyline to an accomplished path and found a new string of thought. I loved the novel idea about bringing age-old, reasonable traditions in a completely mechanical world.

However, the book was unnecessarily extremely lengthy. Many sections had no use in the book and felt like fillers. I had to skip multiple sections since they offered no insight into the main plot. Furthermore, there were quite a few typos and grammatical errors.

Overall, this was an intriguing science fiction, which could use a few tweaks here and there to be perfect.

This is a sci-fi book. It shows how robots are hired to run companies. This book is about AI. It is scary to see that our future can be controlled by machines. It is set in the future 2317 in Uttara Kannada in India. Machines it seems can do anything humans can but what about emotions?
The writing is simple and I would recommend this book to any Sci-fi reader.

Interesting Sci Fiction 📖

I was simply envisioning the whole situation while going through this overpowering sci-fi novel. The extrapolation of Societal degeneration and ascent of supercomputers and Robots are profound thought. The portrayal is perspicacious and consequently the perusers can undoubtedly be put in the core of the plot ie the excursion of things to come .The Captivating composition ,The sanskrit shlokas , The reciting of mantras add a heavenly flavor alongside solid rests of innovation..

The plot begins from the year 3021 with the presentation of Ashok and Ahalya his little girl .He attempts to bring into light the significance of supplications .The plot goes to the flashback into the year 2521.This novel unquestionably features the magnificence and significant of petitions , humankind and human feelings ,which according to the current age of the book is missing a result of motorization.

As we flip the pages we get an unmistakable portrayal of time where we see that the future has divided into two particular classes Human and robots and subsequently blasting up of emergency ,plunder and uproars between the people for presence ..The story keeps the perusers snared by adding energy .We have two principle drives Siya and Saamarthya who claimed a Robot " Hanmon " .A 55 years of age hefty tall Robot and the saint of the story. There are not many more significant Robots, who play been given significant part to play. The consequently help in moving the story forward.

The novel has superbly made bussiness plots highlighting the robots as Main lead. I discovered those very intriguing. The world has become machine invaded, inert and comes up short on all feelings. But here onwards we see extreme changes in the air with the mystery plotting of Robots to turn out to be super force and rule the world.

Will this really occur?

Will human be overwhelmed and administered by Smart Robots?

Will the deteriorate conditions be worked on back again?

How might Hanmon help the world in saving from this calamity and reestablishing back the Core standards of life.

Notwithstanding having colossal difficulties Hanmon alongside some extraordinary personalities , approaches.

Will they succeed.the peak of the novel is captivating and I was grasped without interruption. The cover is engaging and furthermore the story.

Going in the future through creator's eye was totally wondrous.

For the first time in the history of the planet, humans are not the only smartest and intelligent species anymore. Super powerful and smart robots are not only competing with humans in every walk but also emerging superior and in this race, humans are loosing their joy, fear and emotions.

Having lost touch with the true nature of life with no torch bearers to guide them, humans find themselves in a dark place with no knowledge or desire to seek the light. Humans are oblivious of their roots and depressed and disoriented about their future. Rioting, looting, and oppression begin to envelop the world.

Hanmon along with Siya and Ram face challenges and fight difficult battles.
Read the book to find out if they succeed in saving the human race !

HANMON is a sci-fi novel that is terrifying, fascinating and took my imagination to the best place possible !

The main theme that this book explores is old age battle of good vs. evil but with technology at it's center. A plot that focuses on valuing our heritage and not living a shallow & superficial life. I loved the various lessons I kept on learning throughout the book.

I liked all the characters as they were well developed. Even Hanmon, a robot's character was developed so that he seemed more humane. Ram and Siya had their own part to play which along with Hanmon's made it an exciting adventure.
Also, the way this book traverse through human emotions is perplexing.
As the story & characters are somewhat inspired by 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata', it layered the book with familiarity despite being in future era.
Use of Sanskrit verses from Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads added a religious touch to the book.

The setting of future 2317, Uttara Kannada, India was beautiful and I loved the South Indian culture that was explored. While cities and towns around the world were machine-infested and lifeless in this future world, we get to know of a beautiful town amidst the valleys of western ghats of southern India, still bursting with life, with local culture, long-standing traditions, and heartwarming hospitality. I loved how rich this setting was !

While the narration was good and dialogue writing was done well, writing style wasn't smooth. And proofreading could have made the book much better.

Overall, a pretty amazing read with alternative world building that rendered me in awe. Recommended to all the sci-fi lovers !

The story takes place in the future, where robots ruled over humans. The backdrop is set in India where robots are emerging as a more superior & destructive force and humans & their emotions no longer holds significance.
.
.
.
.
The year is 3021 where Ashok enlightens his daughter about the significance of prayers & beliefs of a superior entity through a story. The books switches between two timelines, the past and the future.
.
.
.
.
The protagonists Siya & Samarthya owns a robot, named Hanmon, a 55 year old robo that helps preserve humanity. At a time where world is dominated by AI and robots emerge as the superior clan ruling mankind, would Hanmon, a robot himself be able to sustain humanity?
.
.
.
.
The book gives an insight into the future of mankind where humans no longer ruled the world and created more technologies. True, concept of AI and enhancement of robots to make it work more efficiently are manmade but aren't we becoming too dependant on them that we're forgetting our roots?
.
.
.
.
The concept behind the book is amazing and through a fictional story the author had been able to touch a important aspect i.e. technology the can either build or doom mankind. If we look carefully, the cover of the book is apt. Two humans who I suppose is Siya - Ram of modern world ( Siya & Samarthya) are looking at Hanmon, who I believe is like modern day Hanuman who is indulged in a war against the evil(the destruction causing robots)

The novel show cases the power and importance of prayers, humanity and feelings.
The language is kept simple by the author which helps the reader to understand and interpret the book in an easier way and connects the readers to the book. Overall it's an amazing book!

This ebook is a sci-fi one, no longer like your ordinary books. We have two primary leads Siya and Saamarthya who owned a robot ,Hanmon. A 55 years vintage technology heavy tall Robot and the hero of the tale .There are few greater crucial Robots ,who have been given important role to play.
The manner the writer narrates the tale is perspicacious and hence the readers can effortlessly be positioned inside the heart of the plot ie the journey of the destiny.
This e-book is set Aritificial Intelligence, about robots, man's introduction. Imagining corporations being run by way of robots and robots carrying out the identical activities as human beings, is a piece too sudden. But that is what the future may seem like. This ebook just gives us a clearer creativeness of it. Machines it seems can do anything humans can but what about the feelings that we feel, how can AI inject them?
Highly encouraged to people who are into sci-fi books!

Great Read

" Universe has its mechanism in place, it's working with you and everything around you so that life is possible for you and the rest"- An Excerpt from the book.

This is a very fascinating Sci Fi novel. The story starts in the year 3021, Ashok telling a story to his teenage daughter Ahalya.

The story is based in the year 2521, in the story Guru Paramahamsa ( The 2nd Parahamansa) tells his devotees the history of about 200 years back, about how humans have saved the world.

The story is about Hanmon who is loved by all and lives with Saanmarthya Ram, CEO of KIND and his family. Hanmon is a 55 year old generation robot, very tall and heavy but very dear to all.

Hanmon comes into focus when the AI of the world want to take over the world and the humans of course are very disillusioned, confused and at the moment clueless of what to do to prevent this disaster.

What's Hanmons role here?

Another very influential character is Siya, she does have a very important role to play and the growth of Siya in the book is very interesting.

What happens between the AI & the humans? Is there a war in the end? Who wins?

One must read this exciting book, to know the entire details. Thought it's a bit lengthy, it's totally engrossing and fast paced, so one doesn't actually realise how soon the book ends.

The language is simple yet very captivating, perfect book for sci-fi lovers and overall an excellent book for anyone looking for the thrill.

There are a few shoklas and Sanskrit chants scattered over the chapters which I feel added the depth to the book. If one goes through them, the meanings of them are beautiful.

Overall, I did feel a sense of thrill, gratitude, satisfying, happiness , a combination of a few other emotions after I finished reading the book

Great read.

The story was set in future 2321 where AI robots replaced human in all fields. The story began with Father Ashok Daughter Ahalya duo conversation insisting the essence and importance of daily prayers.

The book is deeply influenced by hindu epic Ramayan. The Author made slight alterations in characters name but their traits remained almost the same. For instance, Hanuman as "Hanmon" and Ram as "Saamarthya Ram". It took some time for me to sense what was happening when Ashok narrated the main plot.

The minor details in the book were fascinating. It shows the author's deep knowledge about epics and places around the world. It was a sincere and creative attempt to recreate a modern Ramayan. I could always count on good writing, vivid descriptions that stayed true to the period the story was set in, and a great narrative voice. The only thing that striked me was the flow. At times, the plot seemed to be not gripping.

All in All, this was a wonderful read, which stayed true to its promise, and delivered a creative content.

Hanmon, the title itself gives away the fact the story is going to be very powerful. To add to that the cover totally justified the plot. The author must be applauded for his imagination and the way he narrated the story because it is a story which is written about the future where there is a high chance that we will be so advanced in technology that one day there won't be any need of us.

The story starts with Ashok narrating a story to his little daughter to enlighten her about the importance of prayer in 3021. He narrates about a powerful machine Hanmon who did everything to maintain the technological balance in the society with the help of Saamarthya and Siya when the Robots were replacing humans in almost all the professions. When the robots decided to rule the people, it was high time that Hanmon decided to take things in his hand and help humans preserve their existence.

The highlights for me in this story are the conversations between Saamarthya Ram and Hanmon as well as the story of Nichole and Rachel about the way the RISE have impacted their lives. I loved the usage of vocabulary a lot especially the acronyms KIND and RISE.

Though it looks like a lengthy read, the story goes on in such a smooth flow that one doesn't feel bored at any point while reading it. Infact the detailed narration made it easier to imagine the events as if I was watching a movie.

I must say the author did a splendid job in adding religious touch to the story by adding Sanskrit verse and I liked the inclusion of Siya taking the kids to a temple every week and teaching them the verses. Overall I would say this story has both modern technologies as well as traditional values. And I highly recommend it to everyone who love reading science fiction.

The book is about someone called Hanmon who came to restore the world!
Restore the world??
Why??
The book is happening in 2321. The story is a simple read, but still, it discusses a relevant subject.

" Universe has its mechanism in place, it's working with you and everything around you so that life is possible for you and the rest"- An Excerpt from the book.

This is my second futuristic sci-fi read and I must say it was better than 1st one, great work by the author, whatever he described in the book is something we all can relate to, looking at present-day development.

It talks about the time when humans no longer rule the world and AI has taken over us!! And somewhere I feel that the author's sight will come true one day...

Read out the story to know what the world in 2321 will look like!!

An interesting read.

An action Packed intresting Novel

I was just visualising the entire scenario while going through this irresistible science fiction novel. The extrapolation of Societal degeneration and rise of supercomputers and Robots are deep thinking. The narration is perspicacious and hence the readers can easily be placed in the heart of the plot ie the journey of the future .The Captivating writing ,The sanskrit shlokas , The chanting of mantras add a divine flavour along with strong dozes of technology..

The plot starts from the year 3021 with the introduction of Ashok and Ahalya his daughter .He tries to bring into light the importance of prayers .The plot goes to the flashback into the year 2521 .This novel definitely highlights the beauty and important of prayers , mankind and human emotions ,which as per the present age of the book is missing because of mechanisation .

As we flip the pages we get a clear narration of time where we see that the future has fragmented into two distinct classes Human and robots and hence booming up of crisis ,loot and riots between the humans for existence ..The story keeps the readers hooked by adding energy .We have two main leads Siya and Saamarthya who owned a Robot " Hanmon " .A 55 years old generation heavy tall Robot and the hero of the story .There are few more important Robots ,who have been given important role to play .The hence help in rolling the story forward .

The novel has excellently crafted bussiness plots featuring the robots as Main leads .I found those quite interesting .The world has become machine infested , lifeless and lacks all emotions .But here onwards we see drastic changes in the atmosphere with the secret plotting of Robots to become super power and rule the world .
Will this actually happen ?
Will human be dominated and ruled by Smart Robots ?
Will the worsen conditions be improved back again ?
How will Hanmon help the world in saving from this disaster and restoring back the Core principles of life .
Despite having tremendous challenges Hanmon along with some great minds , comes forward .
Will they succeed.the climax of the novel is enthralling and I was gripped without distraction .The cover is appealing and also the story .
Traveling in the future through author's eye was completely wondrous .

Exemplary imagination but needs improvement in execution.

The story commences from the year 3021, where Ashok, irked by the lack of focus and dedication of his twelve-year-old daughter. So, he decided to narrate a story to his daughter, to teach how important are prayers, disciplines, and duties. The plot is grounded in the year 2521, with advanced super-machines built with artificial intelligence that is on the rise across the world. As a result, humans are not the smartest beings anymore, but robots! Day by day, humans are replaced by robots due to their super-capacity. This pulled the humans to engraving danger, where no one finds hope to live. Additionally, riotings, looting, and oppression begin to surround the world which makes the situation even worse. Then, shows up 'Hanmon' which is a special type of robot living in a small town with Saamarthya Ram, the young male protagonist, and Siya young neighbor, the female protagonist.

The tale is about how Hanmon helps and supports the people around him and how he tried to protect and revive the true meaning and purpose of life while the world was going through an existential crisis being conquered by AI-powerful machines. Does the Hanmon win the battle? Did Hanmon restore peace in the world? Read the book now to quench your questions!

The language is radiant and clear. The storyline is captivating with more imaginary characters. The writing style could have been more interesting, it missed to grab my attention at certain places. The character's portrayal is good. The depiction of the scenes and its setup were cool to imagine. The blending of characters from Mahabharata and Ramayana to the robotic machines is wholesome! Sometimes, I felt few descriptions were overwritten, which made me skip certain areas. Besides talking about drawbacks in technological advancement, the author beautifully expressed his views about nature and how even small insects, bees, birds are important to our survival through the characters. This book is undoubtedly an extraordinary work of imagination. I would recommend this book to all science-fictional readers and mythology readers can give it a go!

It's a science fiction novel establish in the backdrop of the year 2317 in Uttara Kannada of India where Artificial Intelligence evolved into autonomous sovereignty in the world. Humans and Robots are cohabiting and the world is moving towards the peak of technology.

Here the leading protagonists are Ram and Siya and their robot Hanmon. The character's names and many instances have been inspired by Mahabharata and Ramayan giving it Indian folklore touch.

AI can strive with humanity at each notch (mostly in technological advances) but when it comes to emotions, feelings there is a question lingering, Can Robots feel too? Do they have the perception of attachment, belonging, care which are the basic essence of living? This novel deals with a struggle between good and immoral and how a robot helps in reclaiming the lost humanity and their prominence.

I loved the progression of narration which was steady and kept me involved till the end. Characters, including some robots, touched my heart and I liked figuring out their journey. Language is rich and lucid. Although the end is predictable, it was fascinating to know how it happened and who was behind it.

If you're into sci-fi genre, you can try this book as it is a good one time read.
