I enjoyed this five-star family and school friend story with characters sharing their Indian heritage and culture. Footnotes and explanatory prose where included to explain particular cultural events that all readers may not know like the Shabdkosh festival.
Anisha and her friend Milo won a science competition and the award ceremony is on the same weekend of the family’s favourite festival. So everyone squashes into a mini bus and they head off for the family adventure. Along the way Anisha spots a family behaving unusually. She sees them gain a the festival but it is not until her grandmother is arrested that Anisha decides to investigate them.
What does she discover?
Recommended for readers 8 years and older.

FINISHED: I bloody love the Anisha books. They’re so full of fun! I love how they celebrate the culture of Anisha’s family! There’s so much colour and delight in these stories - and so much food!! It all sounds delightful. I’d love to meet this gang. Anisha and her crew are tasked with finding an important stolen item when someone she loves is arrested! This is just brilliant! I loved the messages at the end about being whatever you want and you can be anything! Anisha is a brilliant main character!!

This book is great, with loads of plot twists and turns. Though, I felt it was too Obvious who did it because the author gave away too many clues. Though, I still enjoyed it a lot and if you haven't read it, I suggest you do.

It is about Anisha Accidental Detective at a festival but, oh no! The super famous diamond has been stolen! And worst of all, the police think that Granny Jas did it so she's in a lot of trouble!

Someone needs to put it right, so it comes down to Anisha, Milo, Mindy and Manny to solve the case once more!

Anisha and her family went to Leicester because she won a prize to visit the international space centre.
When they went to a festival Granny got arrested because the police thought she had stolen a GIANT diamond! It turns out it was actually Bhoomi Biddum who stole the diamond and she was arrested instead!

I enjoyed the mystery in this much more than the second book, it felt more high-stakes and I liked the pressure that Anisha and her friends were under. I did guess the perpetrator quite early on but I can see how it might shock a younger reader. This series is definitely one I am going to recommend to my school to buy!
