Tilly Silver can get any horse to eat its curds and hay. But when her mouth begins to water for the soldier who's promised to marry her twin, can she convince her family to change what's on the menu?
Artillery “Tilly” Silver needs to get married, quick. If she’s not hitched in just a couple of weeks, her family will lose the ranch they've lived on all their lives. But when yet another date goes bust, she’s rescued by an unexpected hero, a man who is perfect marriage material, except for one thing—he’s already engaged to her twin sister.
Carter Shane agreed to marry a woman he’s never met. Getting close to his fiancée’s sister wasn’t part of the plan, but now Tilly is all he thinks about. Well, her and the addiction to pain medication he just can’t shake after a wartime injury. Getting clean is a lot more difficult than running off one of the jerks Tilly’s been dating, and when he steals a forbidden kiss, he realizes which twin he’s supposed to be with.
Between her sisterly loyalty and the secret he’s keeping, they’re off to a rocky start. And now Tilly’s stepmother is on a warpath, determined to prove all the Silver girls' marriages are fraudulent in order to gain the ranch for herself. If her stepmother can convince the judge of wrongdoing, the girls won't just lose their home and the horses they care for, they'll each lose the loves of their lives.
Find out if love can truly heal all wounds in this light-hearted, sweet romance of convenient arrangements that unfold into lasting love. His Pledge to Have is the fifth in a series of marriage of convenience tales featuring Wounded Warriors who are healed with the power of love.
Shanae Johnson was raised by Saturday Morning cartoons and Afterschool Specials. She still doesn’t understand why there isn’t a life lesson that ties the issues of the day together just before bedtime. While she’s still waiting for the meaning of it all, she writes stories to try and figure it all out.
And by the way, the E elongates the A. So it’s pronounced Shan-aaaaaaaa. Perfect for a hero to call out across the moors, or up to a balcony. If you hear him calling her name, please send him her way!
My review today is on the Romance, His Pledge to Have. This is book five in the series A Silver Star Rance Romance. I really am a fan of Shanae's. I'm always thrilled to get the next book in her series. I've already pre-ordered book six. This book is delightful but yet handles series issues. I know you are going to love it.
Artillery Silver is trying to find a husband on an online dating service but they have all been losers. Why couldn't they be more like Carter? But he is engaged to her twin sister. Carter has been helping her find a husband. She suddenly realizes that Carter is perfect for her and she doesn't want her sister to marry him. They would never work.
Carter Shane is in love with Artillery but he promised to marry Gunny, Artillery's twin. He had agreed to marry Gunny because she would marry him but would then leave and he could keep his secret. How could he stay at the ranch if Artillery married another man? They finally agree they should marry and things start to go awry.
A great journey to keep the ranch from going to the wicked Cruella. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, give Him a chance and watch Him move in your life.
This book wasn't meant to be long and drawn out, yet the author chose a pretty deep topic to tackle alongside the romance. Kudos, Shanae Johnson, for doing a good job of tackling both and not belittling either. While this series is fanciful, it's sweet and this particular hero really tugged at my heartstrings. I loved the story and the message. You should give the book a try if you enjoy clean, contemporary romance cast with military men who uphold honor and heroines who are strong in mind, body, and/or spirit.
Now it's Tilley and Carter's turn to blow Scout's plan to pieces. Since Brig married Jackson Carter's now destined for Gunnery or so Scout thinks. Just friends can and does turn into love but lies of omission can destroy it too. Will Tilley stay with Carter after he admits to his addiction to Fentanyl? Will Catherine realize her hatred of the General has colored her life and relationships with her step and biological daughter? This question may never be answered but would make a good wrap up to the series.
About darned time! These two were obviously a match and I was worried something or someone would get in the way! Seriously loved this sweet story along with the entire series. Would really enjoy a final book that is a little more in-depth to bring us up-to-speed on each couple and how the General's final wish changed the lives of his daughters and the men he respected.
Next to last sister weds what she thought was her best friend until everybody else but her twin was matched. It’s important that the last two get married before the end of the month. Cade’s secret Mauro in everything.
It was good that Tilly and Carter realized that they were more than friends. Addiction is on the rise today. It is a sad situation when a soldier who protects us and gets hurt in the process have to take drug in order to get rid of pain
This story was good and sad both making for interesting reading. As in all Shanae's stories the characters were special. I have enjoyed reading this series.
Tilly is a film loving woman. Carter is her equal in that regard. But Carter has a problem. Can he admit it to her, marry her and protect her? Find out.
