When she isn’t caring for her dying parent, Amelia works hard at several jobs. She doubts she’ll ever save enough money to escape the city that holds too many memories, but she doesn’t give up.
When the Devil’s Sons MC stops by the strip club she dances at, their president, Fury, is hooked with his first look of Amelia on the stage. She doesn’t belong there, and he’s determined to make her his woman and give her the life he knows she deserves.
Fury encourages Amelia to come to his clubhouse and give the MC lifestyle a chance, but it’s not a done deal just yet. Club drama ensues, complicating her trust in him. When a spiteful member of a rival MC takes her from him, Fury will do whatever is necessary to get her back and keep her safe.
Goodness, this was a mess. If you weren't Amelia or Tara, then you got called names and manhandled by these bikers. Just because Fury treated Amelia like she was a queen (most of the time anyway), doesn't make up for how he treated other women. Also, the way he handled certain situations were straight up disrespectful. If you're not into slut-shaming and the typical asshole biker group, then go ahead and skip this one.
😆 Well I knew what I was getting into when I started this. I was hoping for a little escapism and entertainment but all I got was frustration and boredom.
I expected some alpha asshole caveman vibes from the hero but honestly nothing about him was attractive. He outright told the heroine he didn't want her wearing makeup because he hates that shit and when she said she had to but also he can't tell her what to do he simply says we'll see. Hah, no. Second, he went from who's that chick to protective boyfriend real quick when he wasn't even in a relationship with her yet. Usually I might find those traits attractive but in this case it was just absurd.
Absurd. Hm, yep that about sums up this book. The pacing was horrible. I expected an insta vibe but this was just ridiculous. The hero just decided he wanted her for a relationship from the first look. Her boss just unloads her entire past to the hero when he asked about her as if he's selling her to him. The heroine doesn't even deserve a mention she was so inconsistent and useless. Pathetic and weak and had spirit or fight in her. She hardly blinked when this rough looking biker dude starts acting like she belongs to him. She and her friend Tara were the perfect twins of pathetic wimpy women. Who cries after a fellow stripper accuses you of stealing money when you didn't and everyone believed you and not them?! Why cry?!?! Ugh.
And the constant use of "skank" was already hurting my head.
This book was nuts and I didn't even make it half way through. I was already cringing so much and then having the heroine giggle (big no no for grown women) and then stomp her foot like a toddler...well put a fork in me because I'm done.
Kudos to anyone who can enjoy this nonsense. Alas I'm too picky and want a heroine with a personality and backbone and some actual plot. ✌🏻
PS: having the hero and his men threaten to beat and kill the "whores" at the club was taking it too far. How is that okay or attractive?! 🤮
The characters are flat and there's no investment with them at all. The FMC is supposed to be feisty but comes off as silly and naive and that's all you get from her. The MC is supposed to be tough, bada** and possessive but it's just not well done. The story is choppy at best and there's no real build up.
Yes its erotica but poorly done. MFC started out cute but was annoying by the end, MMC was dull and unoriginal. Plot was choppy, scattered and not poorly developed. This is no J. L. Sheppard, E. L. James, or Christine Feehan. Wouldn't waste the money to buy the second book.
If I could get a return of not only my money but the time I wasted out of my life to read this book I would ask for one. Nothing here is in depth and it feels like there is no plot, little to no contentious situations and everything feels glossed over if that makes sense
Amelia works hard and keeps her head down, but when she meets Fury, the president of the Devil's Sons MC she is not sure what to do. Fury wants Amelia as his old lady, but convincing her that club life could be the best thing to happen to her is not as easy as he thinks. Fury will do everything in his power to prove to Amelia she is the one for him, but not everyone is on board with his plan.
I really enjoyed this one, short but paced nicely. Wanting to check out the next book in the series.
Loved that Fury was all in the moment he saw Amelia. He was so protective and loving with her. He did mess up at one point and allowed his temper to take over in that moment instead of responding to her like he knew he should have. But he quickly fixed that situation. I love how all the guys in the club were equally as protective of Amelia as well. Amelia came to love being part of the club and taking care of the guys. While she was sweet and mostly quiet she never feared Fury and certainly didn't have a problem standing her ground with him. I love their dynamics and am excited for the next book to come out.
I love Amelia – the woman is amazing. She steps into a strange world most would think would chew her up, but she proves you should never take kindness as a weakness. Devil is a typical biker who thinks he is in control, until his woman moves in and shows him that behind every good man is a better woman. I love this series and I will be reading all the books because Ms. Fox had me hooked from the very beginning. Delane Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More Full Review @ Coffee Time Romance & More
If this book is anything to go by, it will be an awesome series!
This book is filled with ALPHA men who protect not just what they consider theirs but anyone claimed by one of their club brothers.
This is a gritty, romantic, fun and sexy story about how the President of the Devil’s Sons MC. Having insta-love feelings for the main female character is not only out of character for him but exciting and scary. Our main female character doesn’t have time for a relationship, she’s working 4 jobs to get by and save to start over.
This is a motorcycle club, dark romance story between the president of the club and a young woman he meets in a strip club. Short sentences and chapters. Graphic details, but no emotional depth. Strong theme of violence against women.
I chose 5 stars because it kept me interested in the book and you can relate to the characters in this book. I would recommend this book to readers that like MC romance and a little spicy action from the characters in this book. If your looking for a great read pick this book up it pulls you in and makes you feel like your part of the story!!!!!
I have this another try because the series is so long, I thought maybe I missed the potential.
Well no I was bang on when I DNF the first time. What the hell is this book - the dialogue is so funny, I can’t even take it seriously.
And the h constantly saying things like I know I’m ugly or fat or whatever. I get it, low self esteem sucks (I have it), but I also wouldn’t go be a stripper. Yes she was desperate, but you have to think of yourself as pretty ok to literally strip naked on a stage.
This annoyed me before even getting to the main storyline (or lack there of). The H was just as bad as the h, he had no redeeming qualities and the love story was just him seeing the h and then bam! Don’t get me wrong I can get on board with a little Insta - but at least speak to the girl first before you’re falling in love.
The whole thing was weird why would the h give up her jobs and dream of leaving to cook three massive meals a day for bikers.
And finally the conversations between the two best friends was so cringe. They were constantly saying they have each others back but again couldn’t see any relationship other than they both had sick parents and are ‘fat’. I love when you can see how much friends care about each other with actions, like in life you’re not constantly saying how much you appreciate your friend (or maybe I just have a cold dead heart).
I have read a lot of mc books, and this is honestly one of the worst I have read!
1.5* Parts were okay, but the violence against women is awful.
Oh boy. This was a late night purchase ages ago, and my only excuse is that I was suffering from insomnia. 😂
Amelia and Tara are both strippers, when the Devils Fury go in to look for ‘new whor*s,’ charming. Fury the president sees Amelia and wants her, and as he gets to know her he realises he wants her for life. After he’s convinced Amelia to move into the club and she’s working with Tara as a cook, he pretty much just takes her as his old lady. She doesn’t really have a choice. There’s no actual plot, just Amelia and Tara in the kitchen cooking and arguing with the whor*s.
Parts of it were okay, the way that Fury treats Amelia like she’s whole world at times. Then there’s the other side of Fury, a really really bad side. If any of the club whor*s say anything bad to Amelia or Tara, the men threaten to beat them, and chop them into small bits. 🤮🤮🤮
I started to question if all the men were psychopaths!!! What sort of a man threatens a woman like that? 😡 The sex are terrible. He apparently just rams it in her, front and back! 😡😡 This is a massive no no for me. If you’re going to write about an*l sex, make sure you do it properly WITH CARE! Not ramming it in!
So I’m very sorry I bought this, as all joking aside I feel like I shouldn’t have.
Ok so this is not your typical biker MC book ..there is not alot to do with the bikers except for how they relate to the 2 main women in the boom ( although in this one the main main one is Amelia ) the club girls don't like her or her friend .. Amelia gets mad when she catches Fury with his ex Dana and instead of him explaining what is going on he gets mad because she doesn't trust him and he then insults her and campaigns her to his ex she gets mad and leaves .. Fury finds her and admits he didn't handle it well but he was mad .. Then there are just random pieces of information thrown in that make no sense at all .. The biker territory she ran to the lady at the restaurant... I'm going to read the second one but we will see from there
It was okay. A lot of the women were treated rather horribly by the men in terms of language and manhandling if they were club whores and Amelia's character went from small and calm to apparently tough and ballsy. If it were a smooth transition, it would be amazing, but it wasn't and I felt like I was reading a different story halfway through.
The H is not alpha, he is overbearing and controlling. We get whiplash with the h personality, she is perfect daughter, the "bad" stripper, the feisty feminist, the doormat, the scorn woman, the mama, the perfect southern belle... all that in around 140 pages!
Immature theme and writing. Cliche. Trying to be what other MC stories are, but falls short. Tries to squeeze in everything under the sun and most of it is lame.
DISCLAIMER.....Let me begin this review by saying I am writing this review with my opinion after reading all of the books in this series. All of my reviews will be the same on all the books because I didn't want to have to write the same thing 9 times so thank God for copy and paste. I spent $36.oo dollars (my fault for not reading the first one before I bought them all) for the series and then not one of the books were over 100 pages. Some were around 80 pages and one was 67 pages. This was a big rip off for my hard earned money. Add to this that the books were the same except the names changes and some even repeated some of the other book chapters as a lead up to the new couple. The women were not what I considered to be true MC women. Too sweet and had no real backbone. They smoked pot to escape and then looked forward to the punishment their "man" would dole out. The men, when the women brought up something or asked about something, were sent to their room so that the men could talk about it and make the call. Also the punishment was the same in EVERY book....a spanking followed by anal sex. NONE of the women had ever had anal sex and yet they loved it the first time out of the gate keeping in mine that supposedly the men were very, very well endowed!! I adore a good raunchy MC series and have read thousands of MC books and let me tell you this author does not have a clue how to write an MC book. I bought and read this series one because I had paid the money and because one of my favorite authors who does know how to write a kicka** MC book and how to write a bada** biker recommend this author. I am afraid she must have been high or drunk or both if she read these books and thought they were any good. Again, I understand that lots will not agree with me seeing that there are some high star ratings. I guess to each their own.
Devil’s Fury is the first installment of Lila Fox’s Devil’s Sons MC series and my first read by this author.
We are introduced in to the world of the Devil’s Sons MC. Here we meet the prez Fury, and the rest of the MC gang. Fury takes the men out for a night of fun at a local strip club and that is where is finds Amelia working, and he is a goner! There is nothing he will not do to have her at the club as his own. Ameilia isn’t so sure the clubhouse is where she belongs, but is willing to give it go after Fury agrees to let Tara (BFF) come along with her.
These two literally were cracking me up! They are like oil and water, night and day, the devil himself and she the angel. There are rough patches and sweet patches and everything in between! Not all their up and downs are between the sheets! (Wink-wink). There is talk of rival gangs and of a shipment gone missing, but other than that no “real” biker war was ever dealt with. Mostly action within the clubhouse and us getting to know all the players.
Good story, storyline kept my interest and I will be moving on to the next book.
One of my favorite lines in the story is from Fury talking about Amelia - “She didn’t look around for any signs of danger and just walked along as calm as a nun in a church." Since I work for a church I found a lot of humor in that!!
Devil’s Fury is the first installment of Lila Fox’s Devil’s Sons MC series. In this series readers discover and follow the journey of Fury and his MC. Fury is the second son and as such would not ascend to the presidency of his father’s MC, so he ventures out on his own establishing his own MC. As the first book in a series Ms. Fox takes time to not only introduce the lead characters but to include a cast of supporting characters. In this book, we meet the club prez, Fury, and his love interest, Amelia. Theirs is a love-at-first sight romance. She is an innocent that awakens his protective and possessive sides. Will she fit in to his world? Can he keep her safe? You must read this book to find out.
Again, Ms. Fox does a remarkable job with this romantic suspense. I appreciate her dual prong plot line—the romance and the inner workings of an MC. Her skill with dialog, both internal and conversation, is outstanding. Her characters are multi-dimensional. She captures the concept of family and the inner workings of a MC. I appreciated her use of intrigue to create suspense through the use of betrayal and interactions with a rival MC. Nicely done, Ms. Fox.
This was a short and fast read. Not your typical MC book, although there is talk of some rivals in the area. I liked how the author gave a back story of a Amelia, but didn’t dwell on her loss. As that could have set a totally different path. I like that a MC Prez, hard as nails man, can be swept away with a woman on sight. Then realize she is not of his way of life, so bargains to keep her close. Definitely had some fast moving unrealistic moments, which is the reason for the 4 star. However the were so many laugh out loud snicker moments as well. Amelia totally has sass and brat in her and gives it all to Fury. I look forward to reading the series.
I’ve now read this book for about the third time. These stories have always entertained me. The MC world, a love that’s strong as steel, an alpha president of a motorcycle club, and a sweet, gentle heroine who still has a spark and knows how to stand her ground when needed—it’s all here. It’s a fast, fun read. There’s nothing truly brutal on the page; every scene is written to feel ‘pleasant’… even though plenty of violence and hard dealings happen in the background. I like this book a lot. It’s not quite a four-star read, because I’ve read better books with a similar theme, but it’s perfect for a quick, entertaining ride if you love the MC world and possessive alpha males as much as I do.
Fury was an overbearing asshole with no likeable traits. Amelia was a pathetic doormat. It was insta-want on his part. He basically bullied her into doing what he wanted. There's dubcon, anal without a condom 🤮🤮. He's constantly ramming it to her. There's threat of violence/death from the men towards the whores, Fury threatens to beat Amelia. There is no chemistry between the 2, no actual relationship develops. It's sex, Amelia and Tara in the kichen cooking, club whore drama and no actual plot. The writing isn't good, it's immature, there's no emotional depth.
The premise was good, but the story didn't flow like you would expect it to.
The relationship felt very forced and Amelia's character fell flat. There was really no growth or development. Just so so.
If you want a quick, not all that spicy read, give this a shot.. but not really worth the money you are going to spend on it. Wish it were a KU book, then maybe I would read the second book.
