From New York Times bestselling author Joanne DeMaio comes Shore Road, Book 14 of The Seaside Saga.
Salt air drifts in through the windows. Swaying marsh grasses whisper. Seagulls cry overhead. Off the docks, rowboats are anchored in a calm inlet. Beyond, shingled cottages look silver beneath rays of sunlight. Seafood shacks are strung with fishing net and lobster buoys. You're driving on SHORE ROAD.
And every turn off this dusty beach road gets you to the sea. Tucked-away Connecticut beaches are aplenty here, but you could almost miss one. Just a narrow lane forking off Shore Road leads to Stony Point. That lane is nearly hidden by the stone train trestle running over it.
But, look. Seems many of the beach friends are turning beneath that trestle. Some enter Stony Point alone, while others leave together. A salty pickup truck veers onto Shore Road and quickly takes off. Beneath the trestle, another car turns in as a German shepherd gives a bark from the backseat. Some friends wave as they pass each other on Shore Road. Others duck so as not to be seen. Some cruise with the radio turned up; some drive in silence. One has a silky scarf tying back windblown hair. Another wears dark sunglasses to shield the summer sun, and some sadness.
Though Shore Road takes each beach friend on a very different journey, one thing's for certain. It's sure to be an unforgettable ride.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
It was so nice revisiting my friends at Stony Point! Shore Road is the 14th book in author Joanne DeMaio’s Seaside Saga. I have read every one and I think this one was right up there as one of my favorites! This book had me literally laughing out loud when it told about the incident with Shane and the rubber snake. I could just picture the whole gang scared and running off away from it. And Elsa really surprised me. The predicament that she got herself into that one morning really shocked me! I guess you’re never too old to have a little fun. I’m looking forward to seeing where her future love interests will go. Will it be with Cliff or will she choose Mitch? And as usual, Joanne has left me with another cliffhanger. The way it ends with Shane(my favorite character) and Celia, really makes me anxious to read The Wait. I’m excited to see what the future has in store for them. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see! If you haven’t started reading this series, I highly recommend you do. You’ll grow to love these characters just as much as I have! Another 5 star read!
Shore Road by Joanne DeMaio This seaside adventure picks up after the vow renewal service on the beach. Jason was left at his house as Maris took the dog and left...She and Kyle have a man's night together while ladies will have a last meal at Maris. Other couples you are brought up to date on as the last of summer is just finishing off. Inn is closed and others are left in turmoil as what to do. Love is in the air, all over the beach as hearts will come together and some will be broken. Happy and sad and so many more emoticons reading this one. Favorite character is Maris but I like them all. Love hearing of her novel that she is recreating from Neil's notebooks. SO precious. Little things matter. SO many secrets from the past are still coming to light. Love excursion to the countertop store, sounds like a great adventure! Love party crashing, didn’t think they had it in them, SO fun there! Read in one day and now I can't wait for the next one. Worry about so many of them, things can go so wrong real quick, the second shoe falling...
Its always so good to get back to the folks that make up the stories of Seaside Sagas. This book, Shore Road was very interesting for the same reasons I love Joanne's books, wonderful characterization, beautiful descriptions of settings and decorative details of cottages, events, the sea and food! Now I must say I wasn't expecting so soon, the ending in this book, to leave the suspense of another cliffhanger that I thought might have reached a resolve to some marriages and other intentions of the romantic kind. However, I will wait for - The Wait- but with the hope it will come soon! Loved this book!
I love this series and I love how much I have come to know all of the characters of Stony Point. There is always new drama, plenty of love, and more adventures with each book. I never know what is going to happen and how relationships are going to change
Shore Road continues the saga of the friends of Stony Point as they live their lives and move on. With each book, the reader comes to learn more about their pasts, and gets to understand more about their present as they move into the future.
I have loved all of my visits to Stony Point and enjoy hanging out with the gang. I can't wait to devour each new book when it comes out and anxiously await the next one. I highly recommend this Seaside Saga series!
The summer at Stony Point is coming to a close. All of the seaside friends are getting back to their normal lives. It’s been a summer full of secrets. Some have been revealed, but there are a lot more that are still being kept hidden. It's also been a summer of healing for Kyle & Shane. It's so good to see them getting along again. This book was much more hopeful that the characters will work things out. As usual, Joanne leaves us hanging in the last chapter and I highly anticipate the next book! I read this book slowly because I just didn’t want it to end! All of the books in the Seaside Saga series are incredible and I just couldn’t put any of them down. If you’ve never read the Seaside Saga books, I highly recommend you do. Joanne writes so well. Every character comes alive in each book & they have become a part of my life. Thank you, Joanne, so such an awesome book series to escape into!
Shore Road by Joanne DeMaio I read a lot and Joanne DeMaio’s books, and her writing style are like an old friends. When my world, my life is hectic and stressful I love to pick up one of her books and read. It truly soothes my soul:) Her style is unique with the Seaside Saga because she writes it like a TV series. The first few you could read as stand alones but as you get into the series you need to read them in order. The next installment, Shore Road, finds the beach friends of Stony Point winding down summer on Labor Day. Love is in the sweet salt air. Elsa has two men vying for her heart and there is a secret romance between two other friends steaming up. Jason and Maris continue to work out their issues and find their way back to each other. So much going on and a cliffhanger at the end. Can’t wait for “The Wait”, Book #15. Join me and get acquainted with the beach friends. You have many hours of reading enjoyment.
Once again Joanne DeMaio has reunited us with our favorite beach family from Stony Point. The friends trials and rewards of daily life, and how they support each other thru it all.How just the simplest of events can mean so much to one another. All the references to previous details from previous novels in the series. That stone trestle bridge with the “fate” of those who drive below it,the little red sailboat, happiness jars and those ocean stars!Just when you think you know where the story is heading , a twist. The cliffhanger that leaves you with baited breath waiting for the next novel! What will Shane reveal to Celia? What is Elsa going to do with two suitors?Does Jason move back home to be with Maris?
As with any of the sea side saga books by Joanne DeMaio, once you pick it up and start reading it you just can't put it down. Then you have to wait so long for the next book in the series, that you are missing Elsa, Jason, Maris, Eva and the rest of the group.
This book does not disappoint . Elsa is confused as to what she is wants, Maris and Jason seem to be doing better but she still won't say the word so he will come home. Shane's back for the weekend and the gang gets together on a camping trip.
Just a lot of fun going on and now that I read the book so fast I am "patiently" waiting on the next one. If you haven't read this one or even started the series you need to check it out.
Joanne DeMaio has once again created a beautiful story of family, second chances, true love and loyalty set in the charming little town of Stony Point. The characters are unforgettable and definitely a group of friends that you would want to be a part of. They are always there to lend a helping hand, and support you in any way needed. When if finish a book in this series, I am always ready for the next. SHORE ROAD ended with quite a cliffhanger and I turned the last page several times hoping for a glimpse of the next release. If you haven’t read this series, you must start reading it now. From the beginning. And you will fall in love with each and every person in Stony Point.
Shore Road by Joanne DeMaio is #14 in her seaside saga. This one finds everyone back together post Kyle and Lauren’s vow renewal. Elsa still cannot ope her Inn, Celia and Shane are have a secret relationship, and Maris and Jason are finally working their way back to each other. Cliff and Mitch are both wanting to be in Elsa’s life so, another story to watch. As always, there is a cliffhanger at the end. We will all have to wait for “The Wait” being released in May. I know “I” cannot wait 🤗 Enjoy.
Love this perfect addition to the Seaside Saga Series…. joining our beach friends for the last weekend of summer. It’s a special time leaving everyday lives behind to relax and treasure friendships. So many shared memories. Again the writing so descriptive it’s as if we went under the stone trestle and now are eagerly waiting that first breath of salt air and glimpse of the sparkling ocean stars. Shore Road leaves us with secrets yet to be revealed as well as questions unanswered. Looking forward to the next Seaside Saga book The Wait!
I absolutely love this book and I love all these beach families! I feel like they are my friends and family when I read this book. You will laugh with them at some of the stupid things they do and just know that there’s someone you know who would do that too. The feelings are real and tender. Now the ending is a bit tricky but I’m not going to reveal any secrets, you must read it for yourself! You won’t be sorry!
Omg this is the best ever beach story in the continuing Sea Saga series. I was in awe how Jason and Maris try to work things out while living separate lives, how Elsa tries to decide where her heart is leading her between Cliff and Mitch, how Shane and Celia are soooo in love with each other and just can’t part no matter where their lives take them. Keep this series going. Love love love it.
Stony Point and it's residents bring a warm, welcoming feeling when returning to this seaside town each and every time. Joanne Demaio continues to draw the reader into the stories she writes about her characters. They have become like family to all her readers, as they share their lives with us. I am already looking forward to The Wait, the next installment in this series.
I love this series, and it gets better with each installment, as we get deeper glimpses into the lives of the Stony Point crew. One of my favorite things is the cliffhanger endings, and knowing that the next book will pick up right where the last one left off. I’m so glad that The Wait will only be two months, because I am 100% Team Celia and Shane

As always I flew through the latest installment of the beach friends series. It’s always great to get a peek into what is going on in their lives.. a couple of things have been worked on and are mending which is great to see. A new wrinkle here and there and what was the message for Shane??! I think I have an idea but I’ll have to wait and see just like the rest of us!
I love visiting our beach friends every summer! Will Maris & Jason finally get back together? What will Celia decide to do now, with Shane & her new career move? When will the Inn finally open? It's never a dull moment in Stony Point!
It was so good to travel back down Shore Road and catch up with all the charters and see what they have been up to. Many questions were answered and many were left unanswered. If you love saga books now is the perfect time to start reading Joanna Demaio’s books
Just when I think I have read my favorite book by Joanne, I’m wrong again. Shore Road was such a great read! I love how Joanne brings real life into each character and it’s all so relatable. Thanks for another great read with our friends we’ve come to love so much. Looking forward to next one.
Joanne has done it again, I absolutely love this Seaside Saga and can’t wait for the next one in May. Anyone looking for a great escape I highly recommend this series. I hope she will continue visiting Stony Point for a long time! Enjoy your visit!
Back to the beach we go. Celia and Shane are getting closer, Maris and Jason are still apart and Elsa is walking a fine line. It's the last weekend of Summer and a lot is happening. It's hot inside and outside. Come along and take a stroll on the beach with us.
This one leaves you hanging and reaching for the next book in the series! Some healing in this one, a budding relationship, some disappointing news, but the friends gather around and support each other as always.
I accidentally skipped this book while reading this series, but I quickly jumped right back into the story. Now I understand the reference to the camping trip mentioned in subsequent books in the series.
