What if it were up to three teen ninjas to save the world?
Recruited into the exclusive and highly secretive Military Academy of Martial Arts, sixteen-year-old Genesis Mans relishes the challenge, even after upperclassman and super jock, Noah Jones, tries to convince her to quit. Yeah, he may be the best fighter in school, but he's totally wrong about her. His warning makes the girl fight harder to succeed, to uncover secrets first years aren't allowed to know. She's curious, she's smart, and her developing second sight leads to peril beyond her imagination-straight through an off-limits time warp-with Noah and mastermind, Amir, in her wake.
Genesis soon learns she's not on a joyride. Only a chosen few can travel through time and they have no idea where in history they're headed. All they have to rely on is their God-given talent, elite training, knowledge of the past and, most of all, their will to win. The Qiang are meddling with the past and if they're not stopped, tomorrow may never come.
Landing in 1215 London, these highly trained ninjas must cast their differences aside and work together to find the enemy and prevent them from altering time. And there's nothing like fighting for their lives to transform a heated rivalry into an indestructible bond. But this mission is no date-night sparring match. It's as real as it is deadly.

Great introduction to new characters and wonderful new YA genre time travel series! It has a little bit of everything and a whole lot of potential!
What I liked: * Genesis Mans: 16-year-old martial arts champion, good friend, responsible, caring, devoted daughter, focused, protective, bright, receptive, strong, and resilient – an excellent strong female heroine. * Noah Jones: 18-year-old romantic interest for Genesis, cocky, protective, strong, lethal, bright, leader, brother, military brat, good friend, team player – an excellent male lead. * Amir: a bit older, brilliant, strategist, capable, good friend, excels in information retention, history buff, third of the three time travelers. * Ziana: martial arts champion, curious, confident, cocky, giving, good roommate, competitive, interested to find out more about her * Elias/brother to Noah & Piper: white belt classmates of Genesis and Ziana – hope to see more of them in the future. * Rex: Genesis’s best friend, style-conscious, trendy, sweet, defended by Genesis, am thinking there is more to him than we might first think * The writing, plot development, and introduction to the series * The epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter * The concept of the school, the enemy, the mythology/facts the series is centered around * The belt color levels indicating level in the school * The idea of the Master (liked him) and the Sensei teachers * That most students at the academy have relatives who attended before them * The factual historical information s hared with the reader that will help them learn and grow * That there is a touch of romance with potential for more * All of it really except…
What I didn’t like: * The bullies and evil doers – no matter what time period they appeared in.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in this series? Yes
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review
Sixteen year old Genesis Man has been recruited into a highly secretive Military Academy because she is amazing at Martial Arts. She relishes the challenge, but is rather shocked when an upperclassmen Noah Jones, tells her she should go home. She's not a quitter and will do no such thing. This makes her fight harder to succeed and to uncover the secrets that the first year students are not allowed to know. She finds out she has the second sight and it leads her right into an off limits time warp with Noah and Amir who's another older student.
Genesis soon learns that it's no game. Only a chosen few can actually time travel and they never know where history is going to send them. They can only hope that with their special training, knowledge of the past, and their will to succeed they will stay alive long enough to finish the mission.
They land in 1215 London, and they soon have to put their differences aside and not only work with each other, but trust one another as well. Can they do what they need to do and make it back alive? And will the second sight give Genesis the leg up that they so badly need?
Amy Jerecki is absolutely fabulous. This was an amazing book that had me from the get go. I couldn't put it down. There was so much action, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. I truly enjoyed this book and the characters were wonderful and well matched.
I love Amy Jarecki’s writing, her books are a automatic buy for me. Time Warriors is full of action and adventure, and the characters were great. Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down, I loved it and it’s a book that I would read again.
What an awesome story. Genesis is trying to be part of the Academy of Martial Arts. She’s being discouraged about joining but she’s strong enough to make her own choices. Enjoyable.
It seems the very talented Amy Jarecki can write ANYTHING and it comes out excellent! This book is no exception. Her first book foray into Young Adult Fantasy is a true time travel adventure like you would see on Netflix. It's full of Martial Arts combat, time portals into the past, bad buys messing with history and a touch of romance. Time travel and YA are not my favorite genres to read but I couldn't put this book down.
Genesis Mans is an oddball sophomore in high school. Her best friend is an oddball as well, he's talented with cosmetology and a flaming gay. Genesis has her black belt or just about and the only times she's truly alive is competing in matches. Lately she's had a second sense as to what her opponent is going to do that gives her an advantage. She lives with her alcoholic Dad in a small town and helps him with his biker bar. He's a good guy but never got over Genesis' Mom dyeing of cancer. When she gets a letter inviting her to The Military Academy of Martial Arts she's floored. Her Dad insists she go and assures her he'll clean up his act.
At the school she meets Noah Jones, the star athlete at the school and Amir who is a mastermind. Master Li is the head of the school and gives her private lessons in meditation & honing her special seer gift. There is more going on at the academy that no one talks about. We quickly find out what the missions are all about that some of the upper classmen go on. You'll have to read to find out...
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a fun, exciting book! I loved the interaction between characters as well as the action and mystery and little bit of romance. I can’t wait for future stories!
On the eve of the might-be canceled summer Olympic Games, one of my favorite authors has recently released a wonderful book for teenage athletes. Premise: teenagers studying the martial arts, are found by secret college recruiting martial arts students to travel thru time to defeat an enemy who can potentially change history. Ms. Jarecki’s, attention to detail is outstanding. Three dimensional characters, including historical figures. Teachers young people the power of team work. The growth of the heroes and just the right amount of historical accuracy and literacy license, to make the story believable. Amy Jarecki studies her historical figures and uses just enough literary license to make that history believable. Ending with a twist. Just a suggestion, Amy, what about paranormal, with same enemy and same team of teenagers transported to future???
Amy Jarecki's versatility shines in Time Warriors as she easily taps into the YA genre. Bringing not only emotional depth but the fast paced action that she excels at this story took off for an unforgettable adventure that will appeal to anyone who likes a good story. The dynamics in this work busted off the pages setting the stage for readers to be enthralled with the magnitude of the characters mission as well as this author's talent at storytelling. Noah was a dreamboat *sigh.* He was a great blend of broody and in your face epically awesome! Genesis was equally wonderful and scored high on the likability scale rivaling Noah for top dog status with fans. Charming and insightful interactions took this story from a fun adventure to one of consequence. An intriguing secondary cast rounded out this work!
Amy Jarecki has long been known as an author who puts her heart into her works and does copious amounts of research not only giving her audience wonderful stories but concrete information to build them off of. Seamlessly this story flowed and her information was the perfect dressing to the focus of her work, phenomenal portrayals and a great plot. If you are wanting characters that will challenge your previous reading experiences and a chance to take on saving the world look no further than the marvelous Amy Jarecki and Time Warriors!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
Genesis is becoming aware that something is different about her, she has a strange ability to see things. Winning a coveted martial arts title she is offered a chance to go to a secret military school. Afraid to leave her dad alone she agrees to attend, but things are not as they appear. There are a lot of mysterious things happening around her. When Genesis is accidentally almost dragged through time she is confronted with what is really happening with the world around her.
I was so enthralled with this story! I have always loved Amy’s historical romance, but this was so totally different. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. Amy has mixed the best of both present and past in one story. All the other characters in this book just made it great! It is definitely a five star book and I can’t say enough about it. A must read!
You seriously do not want to miss this one! Its totally different from any of the other books I’ve read by Amy! I love reading about Time Travelers, but Time Warriors was absolutely spectacular! It’s very creative and like nothing I’ve ever read before. It’s safe to say I’m seriously addicted to this new series and can’t wait for the next one to arrive! It does also come in audio format, but I preferred to read this one myself rather than listen to it. Highly recommend to all my friends! 😍
