The Billionaire Blooper

Rate this book
Listening Length: 6 hours and 15 minutes

Cade Bradbury. Billionaire island owner, at your service.

I'm not used to people giving me the finger.
Especially people I've just met.
Especially when I'm standing in front of my own island resort.
So I'm more than intrigued when cute but feisty Emma Clarke does just that...right after dumping a suitcase full of lingerie onto my sidewalk.
Questionable lingerie.
If this girl is who I think she is, then she's in big trouble.
I won't even bother going to the police to report someone soliciting...er...clients in my resort.
I'll run Emma off the island, and enjoy every second of it.
Which is what I tell myself until I actually spend time with her.
Now I'm thinking I might have made a mistake.
I don't want Emma off my island. I want her in my bed.
Which makes me wonder if she planned this every step of the way.
Me chasing her.
Me catching her.
Me falling in love with every inch of her...right down to that naughty finger.

The Billionaire Blooper is a spicy romantic comedy set in the charming small town of Hibiscus Bay. All books in this series are full-length, standalone romances with HEAs and NO cliffhangers and can be read in any order.

Emma has very bad luck. And a klutz who just so happens to really enjoy wearing a wide variety of lingerie. When her suitcase flies open on the doorstep of a rich person’s resort hotel and her underwear flashes an entire crowd of hotel investors, she’s mortified. But when big wig and smirking jerk Cade decides to make a spectacle of her favorite nighttime undies, she sees red and promptly flips him off.

Having a beautiful woman flip him off for the first time, Cade can’t seem to get his mind off her. Until he starts thinking of reasons why a woman would have so many pieces of lingerie while visiting a resort hotel alone. And none of them are good, considering he has his investors touring the island.

When a huge storm rolls into the area and traps Emma with Cade, the attraction they felt between them boils over. And when they happen to run into the investors while in a compromising situation, they attempt to pass themselves off as engaged. But Emma has never had the best luck in life or love, so what happens when their good times find some misunderstandings and things fall apart?

***************

Written in alternating first-person POV, “The Billionaire Blooper” follows clumsy Emma and cold billionaire playboy Cade as they attempt to navigate misunderstandings and an intense sexual attraction.

This book was fine. For all intents and purposes, it was a funny enough book with okay spicy scenes. But there was a lot to be desired in this book.

Cade was the epitome of an aloof billionaire playboy, with a lack of character development by the end of this book. He had poor experiences in love before and was being stalked and harassed by his ex Hayley, which then prompted his suspicions about the motives of all women around him. His first meeting with Emma was not great and honestly didn’t leave a good impression in my head for him, and the number of misunderstandings and assumptions he made about Emma went on for too long. Hell, to trap her on the island, he even locked it down – though that was explained away by the hurricane that never materialized. Even once they were together and he was tempted to see where things went in their romance. I didn’t find him a very attractive male lead or love interest.

Emma was a bit of a wild card and a clumsy and stubborn woman. All she wanted was to enjoy a relaxing holiday for her birthday, which then leads her to being chased down by the billionaire owner of the resort and boss of her closest friend and the loss of her senior sales job back home. Her first thought when chased by Cade through a restaurant was to run through a kitchen and throw a knife at him while a potential hurricane raged outside – I don’t think that necessarily screams sanity to me. Her friendship with Greg was a bit suspicious as well and I honestly had my concerns and doubts about it. Especially since she basically throws away spending time with Greg in exchange for parading as Cade’s fiancée for a few days. Greg then has a drug relapse, but at least Emma’s an okay friend and rushes to his side to help him which sets Cade off on an emotional spiral that ends their romance.

The romance moved fast to me, and even the characters thought it was strange how quickly they fell into their romance. They ended up in bed together at 30% and were basically together and engaged not much afterward, even if it was a fake romance to begin with. The chemistry between them was okay and the spicy scenes were fine. They have a falling out towards the end but it was solved quickly and simply before they ended up back together and engaged officially. I couldn’t understand their attraction or how their romance really worked, but they got their happily ever after. The only reason I didn’t DNF this was it was so short, but it still felt too long.

3,5 🌟

This book started off on a funny note from the first chapter on. Both main characters - Emma and Cade - intrigued me from the first pages. Crade is a billionaire who doesn’t believe in love for himself anymore. Emma is a woman who just wants to enjoy a little holiday. The chemistry between these two was quite something. At times, I didn’t really think it was believable, but at other times I thought it was.

This story contains some less believable parts, but nevertheless is a really fun read.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read, I really flew through it.

Jumps To Too Many Conclusions

The Billionaire Blooper is an engaging steamy romance with memorable characters and an interesting ending.

The Opening

The opening is certainly memorable and manages to introduce both main characters in an amusing way.

The Characters

Emma is klutzy and cute. Her initial accident combined with her string of bad luck makes her a likable character with whom readers can easily identify. I was a little confused that she was initially introduced as an insurance saleswoman but later becomes a printer saleswoman. Perhaps I missed something while reading.

Emma most definitely doesn’t pass the Bechdel-Wallace Test. Whilst this isn’t essential for a steamy billionaire romance, other authors don’t struggle with this.

For example, in Jessica Clare’s Stranded With A Billionaire, Bronte soon makes friends with Gretchen and Audrey and they manage to have conversations that don’t involve men. In The Billionaire Blooper, Emma only has detailed conversations with three women, and each of these talks centers around Cade and is confrontational.

Cade is slightly less likable, but he is given an adequate excuse for his initial stiffness via his ex, Hayley. However, he makes a huge assumption about Emma that somewhat threw me.

Cade’s assumption about Emma’s profession comes out of the blue without evidence or anything that even implies it beyond her fondness for fancy lingerie. I really couldn’t understand how he or Scott came around to this idea.

The Plot

The first section of The Billionaire Blooper demonstrates strong similarities to Jessica Clare’s billionaire romance Stranded With A Billionaire.

It’s not giving away too much to say that the story begins on a private island owned by the billionaire love interest and a storm leads to the protagonist and her love interest being forced together with few clothes.

After this, the story, fortunately, deviates from the direction of Clare’s book, and the climactic scene is somewhat original and surprising.

There were some plot developments that felt implausible and threatened to disrupt my suspension of disbelief. For example, when Emma decides to use a dangerous weapon that could have potentially fatal consequences in the opening scenes. Her life was not endangered, and what she did could have had serious consequences for someone.

The plot development I most disbelieved followed a small accident that left Emma in significant disarray. The two main characters move onto an extremely romantic scene without any pause to change clothes or shower despite the vivid description of what happened to Emma.

There was also an intimate promise made to Emma during a lovemaking scene that was not kept within the novel. While this did not create a plot hole, it is certain to disappoint some readers.

The Setting

The setting is well developed and includes some interesting details, such as the descriptions of Cade’s house and the lighthouse.

The Prose

Thorne writes an engaging narrative that is easy to follow and often amusing. Her scenes are well crafted, and there’s never any confusion about what’s going on.

My Opinion

I believe this steamy romance will entertain fans of billionaire love stories. However, I was personally put off by Cade’s initial unfounded assumptions about Emma and the romantic scene that immediately followed on from a klutzy moment without any cleanup.

As a result, I am awarding this book 7 out of 10 in my personal rating scheme. For Goodreads and Amazon, I will give it 4 out of 5.

First off I must say this is the first time I’ve ever read this author and it won’t be my last! She has made an instant fan out of me! I absolutely loved this book! I went to look for book two and was gutted to find out this was the first book of the series! I’m wondering if Liam will get a book? 🤔🤔🤔 Emma and Cade were so awesome together! The chemistry was smokin hawt and the world building was also good! I actually laughed at some of the name references used. Like Horst Lichter is a chef and about the leaning tower. I loved how there was such a huge misunderstanding that had the comedy just had me rolling for pages. My boy Cade was quick to fall. Also, Lolita put lots of realism into her book. Greg had some real life issues going on. I worked EMS my whole life and I’ve dealt with hundreds of overdoses and people that are recovering addicts and let me tell ya I didn’t expect to find that in this book. I think she handled it well and I liked how she included that in her book. People have real problems, people have friends with real problems and Emma although made up isn’t perfect and neither should her friends be. I enjoyed everything about this book. I loved the after story as well. My gosh it was so cute and so unexpectedly funny. I will not comment more on it because I don’t want to spoil it. There were so many good things about this book, mostly humor which Lolita has in spades. Poor Emma truly rode in on Unlucky but I think things turned our very fortunate for her in the end. This was a true hidden gem and a masterpiece of a book. I loved it and will now read more from this author. Great job. Pick this series up. You’ll love it. Unless you’re a prude who does not like adult romantic comedies then don’t. 🤫5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️from this 🐻

What's an attractive island resort owner supposed to think when a single woman, carrying an entire suitcase full of questionable lingerie, invades his island? She must be a prostitute. But tracking her down on a small resort island proves more difficult than he imagined, and when he finally confronts her he discovers he was completely mistaken about her. Problem is, they're trapped together in a remote suite during a raging storm. One thing leads to another and they are discovered after the storm by Cade's key investors. Knowing this will damage his island's growing reputation as a high-end resort, Cade lies and tells them Emma is his fiancée. But as time goes on, he finds himself wishing that it was the truth.

I found the storyline of this book a bit unbelievable, but it's all in good fun. The setting is beautiful, the banter is hilarious, and the chemistry is hot. Overall it was a great escape for me from the cold and gloomy grey of winter. Cuddle up with a hot cup of coffee and your favorite blankie for this vacation escape!

well this was absolutely terrible. i picked this book randomly, not knowing what to expect at all and i guess i learned a lesson. it was a quick read, i’ve read this book in one sitting but it still managed to piss me off quite badly. firstly, there was no development, neither of characters, nor their relationship. being annoying and having no interesting traits is one thing, but when i’m reading a romance i expect, well, some kind of growth of the relationship i’m reading about. there was no such thing here. two main characters were having sex and that was all. they literally had maybe one serious conversation, the rest of it was just them shouting at themselves and tearing their clothes off of each other.
that was one thing. another is the main dude’s attidude towards prostitutes. when i got inside this man’s head and read about what he was thinking, i was so ready to go on that fucking island of his and punch him in the face. thinking that he ,,did not want those kinds of women in his island’’ and calling them ,,riff-raffs’’ : i’m sorry but what the fuck?
overall, not a great book and i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I think this is the worst book I've ever read.
It just I didn't like it, I almost hate it because everything went so fast
I didn't event get the chance to emphatyzed with the protagonist and I felt her so annoying.
Sadly I didn't end the book because I couldn't read anymore. So this is my first DNF

Karma is treating her like a bitch. Nothing has gone right today and now with her stubborn need to show she can do everything Emma refused the help from the cabbie and drug her suitcase out of the trunk by herself. Said suitcase deciding to burst open throwing the contents everywhere and of course her lingerie lands top and center as she arrives at Island Royale. Advertised as "WHERE DREAMS BECOME A REALITY". She's not liking her reality so far! As she heads into the lobby UMPP right into an immovable object. As she scans from shoes upwards she stopped from seeing any further by heer comfortable sleep panties. Granny panties. When he lowers one side to hold them over one finger she is frozen by a super hot gorgeous face and smirking smile. He offers her a complimentary spa treatment since she's so stressed. She mar he's off and offers him a finger.

Cade is finished his tour with prospective investors, but can't clear his mind of the woman who had lingerie flying out of her suitcase this morning. When he arrives back in his office his assistant doesn't know who the visitor is, but it starts to click in his head. A suitcase of lingerie....hooker. He had to find her before she ruined the reputation of his exclusive resort!

This book is absolutely hilarious! Emma has the worst luck, but has a fighting spirit. Cade is a sexy billionaire who has been taken to the cleaners and has no trust in women. The pages sizzle with their chemistry. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read more by Lolita Thorne.

On a first glance this book is full of quirky characters and unreal weird coincidences. In the beginning, I thought that would make the book difficult to get into. I was wrong. It was an easy read and a fun story.
Of course, you cannot connect with the characters, at least I couldn't, but that doesn't keep you from enjoying it.
I will definitely read the following books in the series when they come out, there are many fun characters in Hibiscus Bay.

This is a fun idea: vacation romance, billionaire and workaholic, awkward meet cute and heavy attraction. I chose to read it because I liked the cover and I thought it would be a nice easy read. Unfortunately it was not executed well. The overuse and abuse of the miscommunication trope ruined it.

Overall, this book just wasn't it for me.

this book was SO FUNNY TO ME!! maybe it’s because i did an audio book but i was peeing.

first it’s just so funny that his conclusion for her having so much lingerie is she is a prostitute. i’m sorry but how is that your first thought. I WAS PEEING MY PANTS!!! it was making me laugh so so much. he wanted to arrest her AND was calling her sally the stripper. i’m literally peeing my pants that was so funny i cant.

she is so strange ill say it. like talking to herself in the restaurant, doing all these silly things. but what a bad friend of him to book her a shady trip & then be like hey girl you need to leave right now. like ummm??? then when he started chasing her and she threw a knife at him??? GIRL WHAT!!!! that’s crazy!!!! and just so funny to me.

what really sent me is when she said it was flattering that a billionaire was stalking her. like literally me girl - like seriously so true. i’m still confused why he just started kissing her so much in the hurricane. how her fake prostitute ways led him to believing she needed to be kissed right there & then.

but wowowowowow was the scene crazy!! & so sudden and out of nowhere???? i also would be so mad if he told people we were engaged and i had known him for less that 24 hours. what a strange little deal

if i was emma and fell in front of everyone at that dinner i would have literally died that is sooooo humiliating. but also it made me sooooo mad how they assumed such weird things about each other. she is psycho for showing up to that event AFTER she was in the hospital with her friend thqt OD. girl freshen up! you look crazy! and he is dumb for just taking another date???? like ummmm????? that. was crazy.

she is so dumb. they are both SO DUMB!!! of course the weirdo friend tells cade where she is. she is so dumb like guys JUST TALK!!!!!

peeing my pants how he apologized to her on the radio and spray painted signs on the streets. i’m sorry but SHE GOT FAKE SHOT??? i was gagged. truly so gagged. like the ex comes out of nowhere and just tries and shoot her???

WHEN THEY GET ENGAGED AFTER A WEEK OF KNOWING EACH OTHER!!!! they haven’t even dated or said i love you to each other. LIKE WHAT!!!!! i’m sorry but this book is so funny. i liked it so much because it was so crazy and just so silly hahahahaha

Some Issues, But Otherwise, Rom-Com Fun

This book has some fun rom-com humor, an entertaining storyline, and strong chemistry between the hero and heroine. While not every comedy moment was a hit, parts were laugh-out-loud funny, and I thought it had a good mix of steamy romance and comedic moments.

I love any romance, but especially a rom-com that has witty, flirty banter between the hero and heroine. The story is light and inspiring. The protagonist, Emma, is feisty, funny, and likable. The billionaire hero, Cade, is sexy and charming. Misunderstandings and misadventures are the catalysts that drive the plot.

The book does have some flaws, however, with occasional typos, unclear sentences, and unrealistic elements that stretch credulity, even for fiction. The pacing is uneven and a bit slow at times. The push-and-pull dynamics and communication issues between the hero and heroine were irritating at times and felt as though they trod the same ground over and over without much of a sense of ratcheting up the tension. I felt a little frustrated with them at times! I also didn't quite feel like all the loose ends were tied up.

That’s not to say I didn’t mostly enjoy the book. It’s a light and humorous rom-com with engaging characters, entertaining dialogue, and a good balance of romance and comedy. If you enjoy light-hearted and steamy romance novels with comedic elements, you will probably enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I don't know when I've been this amused by a book or thought so much about it during the day, impatient to return to it after work. What a breath of fresh air this author is! This is the first time I've read a book by this writer and she definitely will be one I follow. Smart, tight writing. Witty, humorous. She chose to write this book in the present tense, which is a challenge for most writers. It gave the book a feeling of intensity, getting inside a character's head and letting us watch "live" as the action happens. There were times that I wish she would have shown, not told the story, as with the stalking and especially when she got the steamier parts of the sex scenes. The way she dove into them were more shocking than titillating and I'll admit I skipped through them for the most part. There were some typos and maybe some sentences she might have constructed more clearly, but there's too much I loved to complain. Even the bit players had back stories and as a reader, I always appreciate when authors take that extra time to flesh out the supporting cast. She touches on heavy subjects, such as drug overdose, in such a light manner that it was easy to read and not be brought down despite empathizing. And best of all a thoroughly romantic HEA. I can't wait to read more about these characters and I hope they'll be present in future books in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

WOW – Truly a Romantic Comedy! This is my first book from Lolita Thorne and let me tell you – I was laughing out loud that I was being asked what was so funny. Of course, my response was “oh, you have to get this book when it comes out”!!! The book is about billionaire Cade and poor Emma, that is just trying to have a vacation of her dreams made possible by a friend. Her friend, Greg did not really do a good job at giving her a week of relaxation to celebrate her birthday instead made her run for her life because the owner of the island was coming after her!

Ella is strong headed woman, and she is determined to always take care of herself, but when she gets out of the taxi and refuses the help the driver is trying to give her, her luggage hits the curb, and everything comes flying out. Surprise, surprise, surprise she ended up packing all her undies last, so guess what came out first. Well, the story takes off from there which is the first chapter, you can’t get enough of these two because they are too funny and perfect for each other. There is a bit of concern for her friend Greg and someone goes to jail for attempting to kill someone, but overall, it was a great story. Also, the book cover is awesome – I love it! I can’t wait to read more form this author.

~3.5 stars~

I had a hard time with this book. There were some elements I really enjoyed—like when Cade called Emma “my Emma”—but there was also a decent amount that I didn’t like. It wasn’t a bad book by any means and it had a lot of promise, but there just wasn’t that special something that makes you anxious to find out what happens and read more books by the author. It definitely was a bit slow in parts and both Cade and Emma were somewhat wishy washy. Even the ending felt more HFN to me than HEA. There were still a lot of loose ends by the conclusion of the story.

Scott was a really enjoyable side character though, despite the rest of the minor characters being nothing of note. He added some good humor to the book. I liked that while the novel was decently funny, it wasn’t an annoying, slapstick humor. The story wasn’t laugh-out-loud funny, but there were numerous parts that made me smile.

Overall, I did like this story well enough, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a funny and romantic book to pass an afternoon with.

Right from the first sentence, you will be laughing out loud at this wonderful, zany book. With the story line flowing so easily, you won’t get bogged down as you read of the increasing disaster that Emma brings on herself as she arrives at Island Royale owned by billionaire Cade Bradbury. Her friend works there and arranged a complimentary dream vacation for her birthday, but in trying to show her independence by lifting her suitcase out of the cab’s trunk, she made a spectacle of things. That old saying about the spirit being willing but the flesh weak? It’s true when you are fiercely independent but hate exercise. So the suitcase caught on the trunk, slammed to the ground, and burst open. And I bet you know what Emma had packed last… which, of course, spills out first. Undergarments should never be packed on top of the pile, lesson learned. Here is where the reader takes a break to wipe the tears of laughter off her cheeks.

This is a delightful story, not necessarily believable sometimes, but fun and mood-lifting. Grab your copy and get the rest of Cade and Emma’s story right from the author who tells it so well.

This book is simply amazing! Completely hilarious! This is the story of Cade and Emma. He is a billionaire that owns an island with a super exclusive type of resort only for selected people. She is a normal person from LA that was invited to celebrate her birthday by her friend Greg that works at the resort. Her luck is not the best, but destiny will change their lives for the best. They met under the most unexpected conditions. She arrived, her luggage opened and her undies spread around the main entrance. Cale reached her with one and she gave him the middle finger.... and the story began. Between storms, chases, fake fiancée, misunderstandings and denial of feelings, these two characters complement each other and made the reader laugh a lot. The author created amazing characters and excellent plot. I loved that Emma preferred to help her friend even though that could lead to lose Cade. I loved how Cade demonstrated her true feelings for Emma. That was super and very romantic. This book is amazing! Highly recommended.

I really liked the characters of this book: Cade and Emma. Emma is klutzy and adorable. Cade is a bit obsessive and seems to jump all in to things even if he’s hesitant about relationships. Their first interactions are hilarious and Cade’s attempts to find her and figure her out are over the top. There is an instant connection between these two that they can’t and don’t deny. They are definitely ready for a vacation fling while Emma is on the island. I just had one problem with Cade and that was how quickly he filled the void when he couldn’t get ahold of Emma for an important evening. I wish he had been a little more concerned with whether she was alright than how things would look to other people. This of course leads to a misunderstanding that’s completely his fault. I did absolutely love the way he handled his apology so I suppose that makes up for it :). What’s a fun and flirty romance without just a touch of drama? Their story was fun to read and super enjoyable. I love Lolita and this did not disappoint.

Who is Emma? What do we learn about her and her employment? Where is she at in the beginning and why? Who is Greg? What happened and who told hert to do what she is doing? What does she run into as she tries to get away from the crowd? Who are Scott, Cade, and Haley? What is the name of Nate's boat? Why does Nick call Emma? Oh goodness, I'm not so sure why Emma calls Greg a friend. What happens when Emma comes face to face with Cade at the resaurant? When Cade and Emma are in his office, and Scott shows up and sticks his foot into something not pleasant, was shocking. What happens when Greg calls Emma in a panick? What does Cade see and assume? How does it change the whole feel of the story and can good things happen at the end? Read and find out. Can Emma's luck change? Or will she always be unlucky? Find out the comedy of things that go wrong for her in this story!

Karma. It is what Emma thinks always bites her in the but. But what if karma can also be used for good?

Cade is the billionaire of the title. He owns Island Royale, where he does not know there is a scheme going on at his resort. He thinks that when Emma gets there she is there for the wrong reasons but she has been offered a free room by an employee at the resort.

The two meet and get to know each other. Cade is gun-shy getting into a romance after being burnt by his ex-girlfriend. Emma doesn't think that she is good enough for him. They must learn to listen to each other and trust that karma will help them find a happy ending.

Emma seems like a believable character. Cade, however, is unbelievable. The setting is warm and tropical, yet I couldn't decide where the location was. The scheme that brought Emma to the Island is very realistic, as many people get the vouchers for the free stay and never use them.

Very cute and charming story -- certainly those for fans of quick summer reads. 😊 The writing helps in consuming the story quicker and it's a good kick off to the series. I could imagine this book being read by readers lounging at the beach dreaming about who they would meet during their vacation. There were moments were further backstory could be revealed to the reader in order to understand the characters' motivations - perhaps through dialogue with other supporting characters and flesh out the characters more to make the main ones stand out. The best rom coms out there are those with memorable and dynamic supporting characters. (Think Barnard Thompson in Pretty Woman played Hector Elizondo or Kit De Luca played by Lauren San Giacomo.) You know the destination Cade and Emma would arrive at, the journey could be more fun or interesting by enhancing the world of characters you've created.

Thank you to the author for the advanced reading copy of the book.

To the readers out there: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Content Warning: sexism, dubious consent, explicit sex scenes, alcohol consumption, gun violence, hurricanes, drug use

This was terrible. It reminded me why I generally shy away from cheap or free books, to be honest. Not only would I not call this a romance (he literally calls her a whore/prostitute because she has *checks notes* lingerie??), but a lot of the sex scenes have some dubious consent elements to them. Then there are just some weird aspects of miscommunication, the characters being made at each other for literally no reason, and then a "crazy" ex-girlfriend just to be able to call women crazy, I guess.

There were so many pieces of this that just didn't make sense or add to the overall plot of the story. There was also a lot of "growling" and "roaring" so maybe he is not a man but an actual beast.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews, this is not a good book.

*3.5 - 4 Star Read for Me*

Emma desperately needs a vacation - stat. Best friend to the rescue with an all-inclusive package at the resort they work for. Nothing could possibly go wrong, but karma has a way of always winning.

This was better than an ok read for me, but once I was finished, I was ready to move on to something else. Emma and Cade's relationship develops through a serious of unfortunate bloopers. Some of the incidents are naturally funny, and it's not hard to relate to some of those early dating mishaps. However, others are completely asinine and try too hard to be funny. It's in those moments that really kill the momentum of the book. There's one in particular that I had to cringe at as it was completely unrealistic. I am sure it happens to some people, but the scene setup just didn't make it real. I think if the author had stuck with the natural progression of funny events, this would have been an easy 4 star read for me.

Cade Bradbury is a billionaire island owner who tends to have people bending over backwards for him, so imagine his shock when Emma Clarke totally gives him the finger. After knowing what's coming up with Cade, I really wanted her to actually give more of that magical finger. See, he has serious issues with communication so he believed something that wasn't true & acted like a jerk because of it, not even taking the time to see if he was correct making it impossible for me to warm up to him. In life, people everywhere have communication issues, so I don't prefer them in my books to be honest. As for Emma, she was a flight risk because she didn't quite know how to communicate either so a lot of the book was a very frustrating push & pull that went on too long but that's just me. Be advised that this is only my opinion so please decide for yourselves because at the end of the day, I finished it in one sitting, and am intrigued to read more of this series! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
