Full of the same danger and grit as its London setting, this is Roberta Kray at the top of her game. Get ready for a KILLER read . . .

Liv Anderson is street wise, she has no choice ducking diving and living in Soho, she does pretty well via a scam she has going with a local ‘villain’, setting men up then blackmailing them…..until one day she chooses the wrong man, he has connections and Liv’s life is about to get a thousand times more complicated than it was Really good, loved the characters (and what a range there is) loved the setting of Bygone Soho and the description of the real life that went on there and more than anything I really enjoyed the story, it was a pleasure to read, one of those you looked forward to getting back to, it’s gangland with heart with many sub stories all linking to the main one, I cant write much more tbh other than to say it was a throughly enjoyable read,I hope there is more to come from Liv in the future Not so keen mind on the cover where to me the pic looks more like an alien than a young woman from swinging Soho, that aside a perfect read
Roberta Kray never fails to deliver a truly gritty gangland thriller and Double Crossed fits the bill perfectly. Set in post war London the main character is a young girl called Liv Anderson. Her mother recently passed away and her father was hanged for murder when she was a young child. She and her male friend Pally, earn their living by extorting unfaithful husbands until they run into trouble with a rather nasty local villain who Liv ends up working for. Lots of twists and turns, drama, deceit, great characters and fantastic storyline. Absolutely recommend it to all fans of this genre - great read. Thanks to netgalley for advanced copy.
Liv is a con artist. But when she con's the wrong man she is soon dived into the world of gangsters, prostitution and murder.
Kray writes a clever narrative intertwined with in-depth characters, who aren't all they seem; which will leave you guessing until the very end.
This was a quick read with short chapters to keep you going. However, I did find this novel to be slow to build up; every time something happened, it seemed to slow down again. However, the twists and conclusions, I admit, I never saw coming.
This author also gives nothing away, so this isn't a crime novel that you can guess whodunnit as Kray only reveals to the reader when she is ready.
Also, I knew someone who lived in Soho, during the days of gangsters and having to walk to the phonebooth to call a friend, and how Kray writes these scenes are is exactly how it was told to me, so it was great to read the roads and recognise significant names during this specific period.
This is the first time I have read this novel by Kray, and I would happily read another.
I found it very difficult to finish it because firstly I didn't like any of the characters and secondly because there were too many things going on which, in my opinion, interrupted the rhythm of the narrative. Probably, and in view of the high ratings, the problem was me.
As a huge fan of Roberta Kray's books, I can not express my happiness to be able to review this on behalf of Little, Brown Book Group UK. Thank you, NetGalley for a gifted ARC copy of this. All opinions are my own.
Double Crossed is a gritty, gripping, gangland thriller that is everything and more that you'd expect from this genre. Roberta Kray has the ability to transport her readers straight into the fictional world she creates, alongside a handful of rogue and dangerous characters. I felt like I was there in this story, watching the plot unfold for myself. I found this impossible to put down, and read this within two nights.
Liv is a lovable main character that will prove hard to forget. The writing style made this easy to invest in her story, and I found myself pleading that had a positive conclusion for her.
Highly recommended to all fans of this genre, including those who may be new to these stories. You will not be disappointed!
Liv Anderson is the daughter of a convicted murderer and now she's entrancing men and extorting them for money, but when she chooses the wrong man to mess with she's dragged into a dangerous game.
To repay the debt she has to pretend to be a secretary and report back on the bosses movements, she's not told what to look for but trying her best to pay back her debt. But what secrets and lies will she uncover and will she find out why her dad murdered someone in cold blood?
I really enjoyed this book, it had the right amount of action, drama and really got a feel for what it was like living in London during that time. A good read, all made sense and especially if you're a Londoner you can really paint a good picture
Always love Roberta Kray books and this one was a corker.
Liv Anderson's mum has recently passed away so, to earn a living she cooks up a scheme with her friend Pally to honeytrap businessmen by encouraging them to take her to their hotel room, and then Pally arrives as the angry uncle, vowing to go to the papers and revealing their infidelity to the world, the men offer sums of money to keep them quiet. Because of her chosen path, she is soon having to deal with gangland underworld characters, when she crosses the wrong man. This unfolds a story of thrills, grit, and danger. It will keep you gripped. Such a brilliant book. I loved it from the first chapter.
Roberta Kray doesn't dissapoint with this title . A gritty crime novel that you can't put down because you just want to keep on reading to find out what happens to Liv Anderson . Liv is the daughter of a murderer , and she is out to make money by strapping men for money , however her luck runs out When she finds herself in trouble with a local gangster. To get herself out of trouble she has to work for them . This could be the the real start of bad things to come ! Do yourself a favour and read it.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it certainly won’t be the last!
Liv is the daughter of a convicted murderer and thinks that she can look after herself – and make money - in the murky world of gangsters. She finds herself in trouble with a gangland criminal and has to repay her debt by doing what she’s told.
I was hooked from the very beginning and read this in record time!
Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by author Roberts Kray. Alot of the books I've seen for this one loved it. I found it incredibly slow to get into from the start. I think I thought the storyline would be much faster paced and dramatic for a gangland setting, so at times I did find my attention waning, and myself skimming a few pages looking for the dramatics! It was however enjoyable with some good characters.
If you love gangster books, this one is for you. It has all the usual hallmarks of the genre. Bad guys, murder and a good pace. I loved the character of Liv, the daughter of a murderer and the plot was interesting, set in post war London. Another winner for the author. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
I have now read a number of books by this author and still have a few to catch up on. Great gangland crime stories.
This is a genre I truly enjoy reading, this book would be good for anyone who enjoys the Gangland Crime reads. This will certainly keep you turning those pages.

I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of this book by Tandem Collective UK and #RobertaKray and I absolutely loved it This is the first book I have read by this author and I could not put it down. I look forward to reading more by this author as I found this book gripping and fast paced.
I must admit I had stopped reading Roberta's books a while back I brought this one to see if I was still in the same mind about her books I'm feeling a lot more inclined to go back and read her books again As I did enjoy this well done Roberta
Not Roberta's best book but still a good solid read. The same lies and deception you'd expect from Roberta but something didn't add up at times in this book. However I would still recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book but not as much as Some if RK’s previous novels mainly because the ending wasn’t as dramatic as I expected. Still a good book and well worth a read.
Read a lot of Roberta kray books and enjoyed all of them. This one was different but didn't take away from it pulling me in and gripping me from page one. Hope liv and Lincoln do stay together .
Interesting read, not so much as a gangster plot usually used to reading. Rather long winded but read to the end to get answers that Liv spent her life trying to find out.
