People, you know how it is when you pick up a book, and it's a meh, or even an ew? Well, I am one of those poor bastards to whom that happens. A LOT!

But, oh, when that rarest of gems, the enthralling, no-bullshit story makes its rare appearance and sucks you whole? Oh, yes! That is what I live for, people: a good science fiction book.

Solid, no-bullshit science fiction is all about the playful engagement of the intellect; that mix of escapism and raw realism; that exploration of the human soul under the duress of the most tantalizing of realities. Oh, no other genre comes even close, people. Yeah, I know how arrogant it sounds. Sorry. Doesn’t make it any less true.

But hey, this is the page where I get to tell you about my not-so-humble self, and if there is one thing, only one, that I want my readers to know is that I do love science fiction. Always have. A true nerd, since way before it was cool (yeah, I’m that old). And my promise to you is that I make the books that I want to read. Nothing less.

If you insist on knowing more, all right. Hmm, let’s see. Born in Spain, I’m currently settled in Amsterdam with my wife and young son. Law and economics academic background. Software engineering career. A few start-up failures. Gamer when time allows. And a passion for science since… well, forever!

How to writte a review on this masterpiece without spoilers?
The promise of no-bull is being kept. What a great mirror reflecting our society and projecting it into the future. What a great critique of fanatic religion, tyrany and censorship as well as "class warfare" and modern unchecked consumerism. This is what a great scifi should be. A lesson.
I liked it better then the book one. It is intense to say the least. Brutal even. With one of the most satisfying moments in literature I have encountered in years. Or maybe two. Damn, it was good. There is a twist. Maybe more then one. Maybe =)

10/10, can't wait to dream with Edda and Ximena again.

A well-paced and captivating story! The author uses short chapters and in an informal style that makes it easy to find oneself squeezing in one or two chapters whenever there are a few minutes to spare. I enjoyed the character development and the detailed, imaginative world Isaac has created that makes it feel so realistic. The story was well-paced and full of unexpected twists. Patiently waiting for the next book!

OK, just as a heads up, I did receive this book as an advance reader copy and . . .
. . . I have already purchased the next one in this series when it comes out! Do not skip Book 1, you will be lost in high weeds. This is a series about a failing future theocratic society that is being propped up by a mysterious alien culture who have developed a technology based upon dreams. Do not miss this series, it is developing into one that has comments upon past, present and future generations of us humans.

If you haven't read Dreamworms Book 1, do it now...

...it will be well worth it. Dreamworms Book 2 is a continuation of Book 1. For all the cliffhanger crybabies out there, instead of a really looooong 5 pound novel, this story comes to you in at least three parts. The first two installments are the most innovative and entertaining reading experiences I've had in a long time. Book 2 is not just a continuation, though. It's amped up. More of everything. Drama, action, violence, suspense, political and philosophical conflict, broadening scope, answers to the many questions raised in Book 1. Put all the answers in Book 1? What's the fun in that? There are layers to this story and much of the joy is in the discovery. New facets are revealed with much more to come. The waiting is so deliciously painful.

Briefly, in Book 2 Edda and her friends are challenged to grow, learn, adapt, overcome their fears and develop their dreaming skills beyond anything the aliens thought possible.

And remember, dream is in the title, a large part of the story occurs in dreams, but it is NOT dreamlike. The dreaming is active, solid, and as real as me sitting here writing and you sitting there reading. You gotta read it to get it.

I really enjoyed book 2. There are two stories happening alongside each other and it's really interesting seeing the present day character development unfold as they learn about the characters in their past. The idea of tech that allows you to immerse yourself into the past is fascinating. Can't wait for book 3!

It's disturbing how invested I've become in the adventures of my new fictional whanau (family), both the historical characters whose adventures we are sharing, but also those who are attending Professor Miyagi's history seminar with me.
A truly immersive read, that was over all too quickly, leaving me desperate for more. My only criticism is Isaac's inability to write faster!

A cracking second instalment.

I thoroughly enjoyed continuing along the journey of this quite original post-apocalyptic story where people only live until they're 27. The story is beautifully portrayed through the eyes of a student, Ximena, as a celebrity history lecturer guides the students through a controversial history Dreamscape about how a daughter's journey to save her father, through first contact with aliens, leads to saving the human race from extinction.
Lovely world building, story development, weaving and pace, plenty of surprises with characters you become really invested in. I honestly couldn't put this one down either. Can't wait until book 3 where I have a feeling there will be even more surprises. An author I think I'm going to be reading a lot more of. Highly recommended.

I was sent a free copy of the e-book in exchange for an honest review.

Dream, Dreamers, are you a violent dreamer or sweet dreams? Can you get into someone else's dreams? The people of this village was taught when you turn 27 years old, you should go to the Joyous land, but not everyone believed in that. The non-believers had burnt the houses down that the people was killed in and lots more trouble was brewing! Elections were coming up and the people wanted a change for there were many ripples of discord. Interesting book.

Compared to its predecessor it is less historically biased which I miss but to make up for it it has some scenes that are very very daring and refreshing for the genre. Moments of great psychological insight.

Dreamworms is a combination of sci-fi, fantasy and fictional history (or fictional future 😉). Some of the characters are well developed while some are only to carry the plot. It is currently FREE on Amazon but I received it from a different book service.

I loved the first book so much, that I had to jump right into reading this one. I loved it just as much and have already preordered the third book.
