When four Ronin soldiers are dispatched to investigate a secretive underground research facility, little can prepare them for what they will discover. Explore the origins of one of the most popular characters in the God in the Machine universe.
Set ten years before God in the Machine, Hades is the second in a series of short stories set in the God in the Machine universe.
Cole Martyn spent his childhood lost in the magical worlds of Tolkien, Herbert and Lucas. He discovered the joy of writing at an early age but took over twenty years before finally sitting down to write the science fiction series he had always wanted to read.
He lives in the UK, with his wife, young children, and an ever growing collection of Star Wars memorabilia.
This is a great little action-packed romp to fill in the back story of a character from the full length novel God in the Machine. I really like Cole Martin's world and these shorts are like great extra bits of DLC for readers.
If you enjoyed God in the Machine you will love this. As you can probably guess from the cover, it’s an origin tale for Max who was one of the most interesting characters from the first book.
It’s a lot darker than Martyn’s previous two stories and it was a little too violent for my liking, but overall I really enjoyed it.
I really liked this short snippet into A God in the Machine series. It makes me want to explore further which I will in due course. Well written and great story building. Brilliant read.
