I wish I had read this before I picked up the guitar for the first time!
I have been trying seriously to learn to play the guitar for eight months now. I started by learning G & A scales. Eight months later, although I had become a bit faster at playing the scales and I could figure out what note my finger was on, I felt like I hadn't progressed much.
I just read this book and enrolled in the free101 beginner's online course offered by the author. Finally two days after discovering Desi by purchasing the" guitar for dummies", book I have progressed twice over compared to the last eight months.
I like Desi's teaching style. At sixty years old and never the brightest lightbulb on the shelf,, I have no problems following everything he explains. I no longer will question what's the next step to become a better guitarist!
Thanks Desi for getting me excited about learning how to play the guitar! I am hoping there are more online courses available.
An ideal accessory for any beginner buying his first guitar.
A very practical guide with a lot of useful insight into getting started as a guitarist. Plus it included a link to a free mini course, sure the free course is a lead into other online courses but the free one is a good starter.
