Lyn

My two best friends have each found their perfect threesome.

I don’t have an issue with the fact they both have two boyfriends. I would like a taste of the same for myself, though. When two guys hit on me in a bookstore, I’m tempted to ignore the fact that Fred and Barney are obviously fake names. I’ll be their Betty.

Then they stroll into my gaming café the next morning.

Turns out I almost hooked up with the relentless a-holes who are trying to buy my shop at a fraction of its value. The best friends are also real estate investors who have refused to take no for an answer for several months now.

I loathe their persistence at the negotiating table, but I love it in the bedroom.

This time, I can’t have my cake and eat it too. They’re not backing down from their pursuit to drive me out of the company I built from the ground up, so it’s time to back off the sex. They’re not stealing my heart or my business out from under me.

I tend not to review adult books since I'm a YA reviewer however I am making some notes for my future self.

- This book was fairly well written in that the author clearly knows how to string a sentence together in an engaging way to tell a story, however it needs a thoroughly good copyedit to catch a handful of scattered typos. They don't detract from the story but they make it look unprofessional. At one point, one of the characters repeated a sentence almost exactly.
- I loved the main character and her internal challenges were incredibly believable.
- I have no idea what the main characters look like since the guys are only really described as sexy - not sure if that's deliberate by the author and I'm supposed to fill in the blanks?
- The personalities were really well done.
- I wasn't that impressed with the sex scenes. They weren't that emotional or engaging, and were very much insert tab a into slot b. The different scenarios were good, though.
- I buy the journey of the ménage relationship and it appeared to work well within the story and evolved organically.

Another great addition to the series. This time we have Lyn's story. She meets two guys in a coffee shop one night and, though they obviously give her fake names, she enjoys their company. When they walk into her shop the next morning she discovers that "Fred" and "Barney" are really Kingston and Owen, the two jerks who have been trying to buy her business and won't take "no" for an answer. Did they know who she was last night?

Kingston and Owen have set their sights on Lyn, and not just to get her store. Both of them want her, and they are willing to share. But can they convince her that she is the goal and not her business? And when circumstances seem to indicate otherwise, will they be able to prove their true intentions? Can Lyn believe that the two of them don't see her as the overweight girl reaching for men out of her league?

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Another great addition to the Three Player Co-Op series. Little does Lyn realize that the two men "Fred and Barney" who try to flirt with her are actually two men who have set their sights on buying her business. When she meets Kingston and Owen she is certain that they knew exactly who she was when they met when in reality it was an innocent mistake and now they find out they are attracted to the woman who they plan to put out of business. The story is all about relationships and whether the two men can admit they are more than just friends and what will that mean for Lyn who is attracted to both of them? Can they make a relationship with all three work while trying to also buy her business? A well written story that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try and decide whether any of the three with get an HEA and will they end up leaving Lyn without her prized business.

A was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

Charming with some serious frieakin' issues.

Good
1) The characters were all surface-level amusing.
2) The relationship-building between the female lead and male leads was adorable
3) The female lead standing her ground with the male leads, regardless of what they threw at her, was great.
4) The female lead giving the male leads what for each time they fucked up was amazing!

Bad
1) The male leads' characterizations were shallow and one-note
2) The male leads' backgrounds were teased but never revealed
3) The one male lead's statement, 'we saved each other', was never explained
4) The male leads' romantic relationship with each other was built off-page
5) There were not two lies of commission and omission, there were four . On top of the two lies that were eventually noted, they also lied about how long they would be in town when she asked and about the dynamics of their pursuit of her.
6) The story started out with the two men meeting her together, trying to seduce her together, then meeting her again together, asking her out together, spending all day with her together, sexing her up together, taking her to a party together, enjoying more sexual activity together, ect. Then mid-story, Umm, what?
7) The following spoiler will ruin the story for you so you plan on reading the story, don't read the spoiler.
8) Again, the following spoiler will ruin the story for you so you plan on reading the story, don't read the spoiler.
9) And I hated the final epilogue.
10) The small amount of smut was humdrum.

Due to the female lead, I enjoyed reading it a lot more than book 2 of the series but, once everything was revealed, those lying, deceptive, manipulative, asshole men didn't deserve a HEA with her so it ruined the romance for me.

Lyn, Kingston, and Owen.

In the previous two books it was one of the guys and the girl that had the relationship going back to childhood. In this third book, it’s the guys. Specifically, Kingston and Owen are lifelong besties, business partners, and friends with benefits. They come into town wanting to buy Lyn’s geeky gaming bakery to add it to their family of bakeries. (Is it a chain if they aren’t cookie-cutter?)

Only first Lyn meets a couple of flirty guys at the bookstore that introduce themselves as Fred & Barney, and Lyn is all too happy to be their Betty for the evening. The cute meet high sours when she realizes her Bedrock boys are the men that have been trying to buy her out.

The guys swear up and down that their flirting at the bookstore had nothing to do with their offer on the bakery. And that would have probably been that except there was a minor fire in the bakery and Kingston and Owen offer to help catch Lyn up on the large catering order she was in the middle of preparing. Free labor, why not?!?

By the end of the day, Lyn is once again charmed, and the guys attempt to separate their desire to pursue Lyn from their business dealings. And for awhile, Lyn gives them the benefit of the doubt. They charm her together and individually. Kingston is a light hearted flirt, where Owen is more subdued and logical.

When Lyn shares how she met Sadie with Kingston, she realizes Owen has a similar bond with Kingston. The introvert adopted by an extrovert.

“I was at the fabric store, torn over upholstery, and this cute pink-haired girl introduced herself.” Sadie basically adopted me.

“Ah, the extrovert swoops in and makes themselves at home in the introvert’s life. I love that kind of story.”

I didn’t have to ask which he was. “I don’t suppose you have a similar tale about Owen.”

“There was math involved, rather than fabric, but finish your story first.”

Like Lyn, I’m an introvert. Maybe that’s why the chaotic madness that is Kingston seduces me more deeply than Owen’s reserve. He has that Jason from the Anita Blake novels vibe. Smart, flirty, and utterly charming.

Also, where is this town? Does everyone get two hot boys when they relocate?

⚖️⚖️ONE FANTASTIC TREAT⚖️⚖️
Fantastic! Allyson brought it with this priceless delight, throwing out every stubborn contention, vexing encounters, spreading the sass and thrilling highlights, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Surprising mishaps and baffling circumstances, showcase the taxing trials and off-beat tribulations, stumbling through the funky twists and crazy turns, putting our characters through their paces. Wound, bound and tightly woven, exposing the thrilling quirks and defying bents, propelling this jewel to a whole new level. Limitations are amplified and exploited, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, shifting this baby into overdrive, blasting it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. The raw magnetism, undeniable attraction and sizzling chemistry collides with such intensity, drawing you deeper until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant through your veins. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and vivid descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline explode. Amazing job Allyson, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

Once again, the third book in this series features a lovely and solid romantic arc between the main character, Lyn, and two love interests. Though the first time they come together involves all three characters, most of the book is dedicated to Lyn exploring potential relationships with Kingston and Owen individually. But because of developments within Kingston and Owen’s friendship off-page, I was frustrated that I only felt like I was only reading half (two-thirds?) of the complete story.

In any other book, the story might have only involved Lyn and one of the guys. At worst, it might have involved Lyn and both men, except with the angst about choosing one over the other. This book is supposed to be wish-fulfillment, and I understand the narrative limitations of showing only the events possible from the first-person perspective. But I do want that last piece of the puzzle to solidify the happily ever after.

Ironically, none of this book’s “external” conflict would have occurred without the two men’s presence in Lyn’s life. A few moments stuck out as a bit contrived, but overall, this was still a satisfying story for readers only concerned with Lyn and who aren’t necessarily interested in seeing story elements that don’t involve her.

Cupcakes and conflict and coming, oh my!

Allyson has created a safe world where poly life, "alternative" lifestyles, and complete openness with friends is the norm rather than the exception. While it can sometimes be a bit eyebrow raising, there's also a strong urge to ignore ugly, bigoted reality and just roll with it.

In the latest installment, three business people with a penchant for baking, comics, and sex meet and find mutual interests. Rawr. Of course, no path is easy, conflict arises due to both past history and current misunderstandings, because that's how these books work. There books into the series, I know what's going to happen but still like reading it play out.

Classics of literature? Nah, but a good way to spend some time getting more emotionally involved with a group of flawed, geeky characters that intertwine between books.

An example of the writing:

"The way they interacted with me, with each other, told me they were practiced at this two-guys-one-girl thing. Not that I expected to be their first. I was here for the physical gratification. The show between the two of them was an added bonus. Were they more than friends? They must be with a kiss like that."

Lyn's self-esteem is about as low as it can get so meeting Fred and Barney one day and getting flirty vibes from both of them at the same time is a little hard for her to believe. Plus, she knows they gave her fake names. But when she runs into them again and finds out who they really are her inability to trust men will be at an all time high.

Owen and Kingston had no idea who Lyn was the first time they saw her but fate and business have them colliding with her again and although they are determined to prove they want more than just her business it seems they can't stop making stupid mistakes that could lead them to losing everything.

Owen and Kingston have struggled to fully identify their own relationship but when they meet Lyn it just confuses things more. They both want her desperately, but can't quite see how one of them doesn't end up losing in the scenario.  When they toss business into the mix everything that could go wrong - does.

This book was okay, the intimate scenes fell a little flat at times, Kingston's stupid 'mistakes' got old after awhile, and Lyn's vacillating back and forth between trusting them and not got tiresome.

OK I liked this one so much more than the last! The voice actor for Lynn was amazing as well as the VA for Owen and Kingston.
Lynn faced insecurities of her own just as Anne had but it was somehow more tolerable. That being said it did color her reactions to things soooo much.
I'm ALWAYS here for a plus sized FMC! But I love it more when they aren't constantly down on themselves for it.
As a former and sometimes repeat fluffy girl myself I do however understand that constant worry that you don't live up to your friends and others around you.
Lynn's character was just so dang likeable even while getting on my nerves 😂
This one wasn't heavy on the gamer girl aspect but she did own a gaming Café that was the cause of conflict in this story.
The relationships between our 3 MC's was so fun to read. We have Owen and Kingston both trying to woo Lynn while also admitting to themselves that they truly do love each other as well.
It's a short live story that was just written so well and I can see myself listening to this one again one day 💗

This is a well written, entertaining lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance about a gaming café owner and the two men who’ve been hounding her to sell her business. I liked Lyn’s determination to retain and manage her own company despite the hardships she was facing. I also liked how she stood toe-to-toe against the men when push came to shove. I would have preferred that she wasn’t so obsessed over other people’s thoughts about her appearance however, regardless of the reasons for her insecurities. I’ll confess that it took a while to warm up to Kingston given his tendency to make uncalled-for comments at inopportune moments and passing them off as a joke. Despite that flaw, he and Owen were sincere in their feelings toward Lyn and in the end that’s all that really matters. There’s plenty of drama and angst along with several seriously steamy encounters including some ménage and MM action. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Asking For It: Book Three is Awesome!
Tears galore!! This one made me ball like a baby that I had to stop reading because the tears blocked my vision. It was annoying actually because I had to know what happened next. So this is Jaelyn O’Driscoll’s story of the friend trio of Lyn, Sadie and Anne. We meet Violet, Lyn’s store manager and her story is next. Ooh there is some definite fireworks at play with her and another recently introduced character Ramsey of the city council. So Lyn is curvy but beautiful and self conscious that she feels fat. So this story involves self esteem and eating disorder triggers. Eating disorder is a serious illness and must be looked into. So with Lyn’s love-hate with food, she’s a baker, coffee and game room owner, she meets her opponents contesting a sale of her business. Little does she realize that meeting Kingston Ryder and Owen Samson will forever change her life. So a road to self discovery, friendship and romantic love is the purpose of this beautiful story.

I was waiting for Lyn to get her story and I was excited to get a review copy to read.

Lyn, Owen, and Kingston are great together. Kingston and Owen are best friends and in business together. They meet Lyn in a bookstore/coffee shop and enjoy a flirtation... until Lyn discovers they are the same people trying to buy The anime gaming cafe he is not interested in selling.

I loved how each relationship developed independently, while not ignoring the others. I loved that Kingston and Owen were open with each other and developed their relationship as well. Lyn has some deep-seated insecurities that come up, and Kingston and Owen have a secret that comes out, both of which throw a wrench in things. The conclusion is well worth the pain, and the epilogue... wow! As always, Allyson Lindt delivers an amazing story!

Asking for It
By Allyson Lindt
Main Characters: Lyn, Owen, and Kingston
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
Excellent threesome book. I fell in love with all three characters. Lyn owns a gaming cafe and Owen and Kingston want to buy it. They have a hard time taking a no from Lyn. There is business and then there is pleasure. I myself know absolutely nothing about gaming but this book had more personal interactions than past books I have read. I loved it and recommend if you like ménage's, you will love this one. I can't wait to read more.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.

this book was ok there was nothing wrong with the writing I just wasn't the biggest fan of the gaming story line.

I am also not the biggest fan of enemy turn lover type stories. she hated them she sleeps with them she hates then again and repeat. blah make up your mind I hate all this back and forth stuff if you sleep with someone you hate then they remind you they are a prick I don't want to hear the winging you should have known better.

If you like gaming a three way sex scenes you will probably love this book just wasn't for me.

Sort of an enemies to lovers tale...

Lyn’s story is angsty and sweet and sexy. Even though we mostly only get to know Owen and Kingston through Lyn’s conversations with them, at least our view isn’t colored by her previous dating experience. They’re like most guys, clueless about women and maybe even their own relationship. Lyn really wants what her friends Sadie and Anne have but doesn’t feel worthy, even if her friends keep telling her how great she is. While we escape into an alternate twenty-something dating scene this character driven read draws at your heartstrings. Good book 😌

Bookstores, Baking, Billionaires

Lyn loves baking for her gamer cafe and doesn’t want to sell to the corporate suits who keep hounding her. When the cute and flirty guys from her favorite bookstore turn out to be the suits, she assumes their interest was hidden agenda because how could anyone really be attracted to the “chubby chick?” Could the heat the three of them generate be more than just a fling or fetish? How long can they play while she continues to say “No” to their business propositions?

There were many good elements to this book, but there were also some distractions, particularly with Jaelyn’s inner dialogue and the manner in which she’d make a decision and then completely abandon that resolve within a page or two. I would have given it a higher rating had she been more self-possessed and confident. Additionally the medical scare was contrived and tired. I wanted more exposition regarding the buildup of the relationship between Jaelyn, Owen & Kingston.

Amazing

I think this is my favourite book by Allyson. I laughed, I cried a ton. The relationship between Lyn, Kingston, and Owen seemed so realistic. I identified with some of Lyn's insecurities and the doubt she had (especially when she found out certain things). I absolutely loved it though

Now this is a great story!

The hurt she’s been dished is hard to get over so with two sexy as sin men coming after her of course she believes it’s all fake. They do fight hard to win her over youth...and end up losing her because of past actions. She also loses herself though. The fight to get back is painful but so worth it!

I enjoyed getting to learn more about Lyn and what is behind her tough persona. Owen and Kingston are quite the pair, combined they make an incredible team. Getting into all of their heads and finding out what really makes them tick was an enjoyable read. I enjoy the dynamic between all of them and their different personalities. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next in the series.

Sweet and fun

I liked the book and it had some fun parts. The mmf dynamic is sexy but sometimes lacking a little punch and the lead character did have me scratching my head at times as she vacillated between believing the guys and not trusting them. Overall a good, light read.
