Lone wolf life is good for Jasper King. No mate, no pups, just him and his brothers working on their handyman business together. Until he stumbles across Grim, an omega deer. Suddenly, things Jasper once had no desire for, come crashing to the forefront. Would it be so bad walking away from the lone wolf life?
Grimaldo knows instantly upon meeting the cheerful alpha wolf Jasper that he needs to stay clear of him. His family already has plans and he can’t go against his herd. Grim has no time to be tying himself to some random alpha.
These two are opposites in every way so what happens when fate decides to pull them together?
Trusting in Fate is a 33k low angst mpreg romance with insta-love, grump and sunshine, steam, and a realization that family comes in unexpected forms.
When I began this book I had no idea how funny it was going to be. I mean laugh out loud humorous. The three King brothers agitate each other, deliberately getting on each other's nerves. The two MCs are total opposites and the teasing done by the Alpha Wolf shifter really annoys the Deer shifting Omega. The Omega is a great character tough, defiant, and feisty. As well as being rebellious with his herd's plans for him as an Omega. This is where the two MCs find common ground in defiance of their families' wishes that they hurry up and settle down since they were in their 30s. Neither wants the inherited responsibilities that go along with finding a mate.
Long story short they end up mated with all the accompanying problems of a mixed shifter mating. How do you tell your respective families? The Wolf's brothers helped ease they way by immediately accepting the Omega Deer. He actually ended up learning a lot from the Wolf brother that was an Omega. This is a mpreg romance that is a delightful read. My only regret is that the rest of the series hasn't been published yet but I eagerly await each one that is released. I hoping there will be more than two more. I highly recommend this book. Just thinking about it makes me smile :0).
This was a fairly easy read where most of the problems turned out to be internalized concerns from the two men rather than actual problems.
Jasper is an alpha who doesn't want to run a pack for fear of the responsibility, while Grim is an omega who doesn't want to become a brood mate for his herd. When. The two meet and realize they are fated mates they give in to the impulsivity of their match and then try to figure out what that means for their lives. Jasper is afraid of the responsibility but quickly works to figure it out for him and for his whole family. Grim addresses what it means to him to be mated and what it will be like to have children, how it will affect his life plan. Each man thinks about the preconceived notions further of their alpha and omega status, as well as what they actually expect together, and it shows that they are fated for more than one reason.
It was a fairly easy book where the list of mating is instant but love isn't. It was a rocky start down the two men though love did follow fairly (a little too) quickly. Figuring out their individual families was actually more stressful and it helped them address their own pasts and fears. The biggest fall through in the story was lack of explanation of the world. At first it seemed that humans and shifters lived in harmony, but later it was said how a shifter couldn't go to the hospital for fear of humans discovering them. However Grim was a man who was going to be pregnant and working which was not concerning. A bit more explanation of the world would have been useful to get an idea of what the norm was. Otherwise a light and easy read.
When two confirmed bachelors meet fate has plans for them. Jasper us an alpha wolf busy taking care of his brothers and avoiding settling down. Grim is an omega whitetail deer who’s more interested in proving he’s just as worthy as an alpha. One look and whiff is all it takes to put the former class clown and the too serious middle school teacher on the path fate intended these two perfect for each other mates.
This is an exciting new universe for Skyler Snow. It’s very captivating. However, not a lot of background and history is fleshed out. There is a lot of ‘okay that’s how it is in their world’ without details. So you have to read between the lines and make assumptions. The characters are adorable. They keep you engaged and wanting to read more installments to see if everyone gets a HEA. Relationships are fast paced as one assumes a fated pair would be. If you are looking for low angst, this is for you. It’s very sweet and straightforward storylines. No deep plots or characters in real perilous situations. It’s definitely a feel good read. Afterward you will be waiting for the next installments to see which of Jasper’s brothers find their mate next.
A wolf & a deer meet at the school. What does Fate have in mind?
Fantastic start to a new series. I love it! Small towns make everything more intimate. This book starts with our MC's butting beads. But it quickly evolved into an unexpected heat, mating, love. Having to tell both sets of parents you mated outside your kind... ooh boy! Come. Join the fun as wise- cracking alpha wolf Jasper, and grumpy- sorta- omega white- tailed deer, Grim, try to figure out this whole fated- mates thing. General contractor & history teacher. Ooh man! Jasper's brothers are immediately accepting of Grim. Now they just need to accept each other. When they meet the rest of their families, Grim's nausea may not be from nerves. You are going to enjoy this sweet romp through lust, love, & sexy times. And brothers that can bicker with the best of them. Watch Jasper take his place as Pack Alpha. HEA is assured. You will love this book! Fear not. This series continues. There are two more brothers after all! I can't wait to read the next book. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
This book was super cute. I really loved how Jasper and Grim both didn’t want a mate but fate threw them together anyway. Grim is so sweet once you get past his grumpy exterior and Jasper is just an all around great character. The instant attraction/love that comes from fated mates is really sweet, especially as the two struggle against it at first. I really love how steamy the scenes get and how sweet they are too. The plot was fast paced and really engrossing, I read it in one sitting. I already know that I will be eagerly waiting for the next book in the series, waiting to see which of the characters I want to see with a happily ever after gets one next. I absolutely recommend this book.
OK, I went into this one expecting the worse, but ended up pleasantly surprised! I loved the low angst part but didn't care for the whole "fight" scene... grrr
I think that was the only thing I didn't like about the story! I loved the way that Grim and Jasper played off of each other's snark! I have an extremely strange sense of humor and love it when I see it in others! *grin*
NOW, I am jumping straight into Bound by Fate... I just hope it works for my Challenge! *fingers crossed*
So the book was ok. At its core, it was a good story. The characters could use a little work but I did like them more at the end. Some times they came across as immature and I found it strange how they went from not wanting mates to acceptance because fate. I don't dislike fated mates at all but you can't make a character still be unhappy at the beginning of a chapter go to saying 'I love you' at the end of the same chapter. I was unsure about this book when I borrowed it but I did like it in the end and will read the next book.
Jasper is the jovial, free wolf who was not looking for a mate. Grim was a grumpy deer who was a bit on the rigid side. When fate steps in, its a prey and predator, opposites attract match that cannot be denied.
A low angst, quirky, grumpy/ sunshine read to start off this series. We get to meet some fun characters who will also hopefully end up with unique matings. An enjoyable read with some steamy, heat added in.
What a fun introduction to this new pack. I loved grumpy omega Grim and the fun goofball that is his alpha Jasper. It was great to see them both coming out of their shells and realizing just how perfect they are together. I really enjoyed seeing the interaction between all of the characters and learning some of the dynamic between them. It was a great read fun and sassy with all the feels.
Love this... Jasper and Grimaldo are amazing together not at first because Grim being a deer shifter is rude and grumpy at first but Jasper who's a wolf knows as soon as they meet they are fated mates and doesn't let anything stand in his way, they are hot and so sexy together. Love Jasper's brothers Tuesday and Nikahil can't wait for more
I absolutely adored this story. Grumpy/sunshiny is one of my favorite combinations, add in shifters, fated mates, and predator/prey and you have an awesome story. I really enjoyed this and I can’t wait to see what comes next. This is a great start to what I think is going to be a wonderful series.
I truly enjoyed this very delightful and cute story. I loved Jasper's fun and goofy personality which was opposite his mate's (Grim) grumpy and serious personality, but together they were absolutely adorable. I loved the characters and I can't wait to read Nikhil and Tuesday's stories. This book left me with the warm fuzzies. Loved it.
Jasper was enjoying the single life until one job and one fall changed everything. Jasper and Grim are so freaking cute. I like how Jasper is a funny alpha and loves to play around with the serious Grim.
I'm excited to see what happens with the other members of the Silver Ridge Pack
Enjoyed reading this sweet, quick read story. Jasper, a free-spirited alpha wolf and Grim, an uptight omega deer meet when Jasper is there to fix things in his classroom. Neither are in the market for a mate, but as always fate has a way of making itself known. Jasper is such a fun character and I enjoyed his silliness. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I have been a fan of Skyler Snow for some time now and I had no idea she wrote Mpreg until a couple days ago. I loved this book! It was a quick read that left me feeling good. So many times I read a shorter book and feel like so much was rushed or was missing something but I didn't feel like this with this book and I love that feeling
Trusting in Fate is the first book in the Nebraska Fated Mates by Skyler Snow. This story is about Jasper and Grimaldo 'Grim'. I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, hot and very well written.
These characters are way to outrageous to ever work together. Jasper is a clown having way to much fun and Grim is a teacher dictator who doesn't know how to have fun. I couldn't get into it with how extreme they were.
I do love a good shifter book and i always enjoy a good MPreg story and this has both! From ans Jasper are so adorable, and I love how fiesty and independent Grim is. A well written storyline it is such a feel good read, I absolutely loved it
Such a sweet read Jasper and Grim seem totally opposite but fate has other ideas will they see where they r suppose to be Read on to find out what happens such a sweet story
Great first in a new series! Jasper and Grimaldo were awesome and their fated mates story was a very entertaining read! Can't wait to read more in this world!
This was a great short read, mpreg, two different shifters coming together. I loved Jasper’s humor and how he could get the grumpy Grim to smile. Really sweet story.
A simplistic storyline with minimal character development and not much of a plot. It does end on a positive note, though I’m not feeling any drive to follow the series.
Short and sweet, super low angst, just what I like. I loved Jasper so much. Grim too, I loved seeing how he was finding things about himself and how he saw the world. Just loved it.
