Amazon #1 in Cozy Mystery, Mystery Anthologies, and Amateur Sleuths ‘A complete cozy mystery series with an ending that left me on a high for days!’
Indulge yourself with a mystery-packed boxed-set of adventure as English village sleuth, Patricia Fisher, opens her own investigations agency and finds herself hip-deep in criminal capers before she can butter her first scone.
With her steady butler in tow, our modern-day Miss Marple will apply her fierce mind to the detriment of gangsters, thugs, and killers who dare to ply their trade in her quiet corner of the world.
However, beneath the cricket teas and church council meetings, a more sinister undercurrent flows. And when Patricia inadvertently triggers the wrath of a powerful enemy, she finds herself marked for elimination. They believe they are the snake cornering the small furry animal. Patricia doesn’t stand a chance, right?
Well, normally that might be true, but our lady has friends of her own – people who will come to her aid when she needs. That’s not the worst of it though, for the snake is about to find out the furry creature it cornered is a mongoose.
Hold onto your seat, because these cozy mysteries are an adventure!

Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.
When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.
I am so glad I had the 10 box set, because I could not stop reading about Patricia and her friends Jermaine, Barbie and Sam to name only a few. I felt like I’d become part of the family. The thrills and mysteries blended with Patricia’s dry and often self-deprecating wit were fun and kept the pages turning through all 10 books! I highly recommended them!
Steve does it again in his second 10 book set. I couldn't put it down. I love all the interplay between the characters. I love that this series can take your breath away one minute and laughing until the tears start to roll because your laughing so hard. This whole series is enjoyable from beginning to end and I can't wait for more of Patricia's adventures.
These are the best books I have read in fifty years. I am seventy five years old and I need my sleep. It is now 4:29 AM. The characters are complete, the locations are accurate. These author took the time and effort to research.
This set of books are wonderful. I have trouble sleeping and these were my companions as I am up most nights. I am sad to have finished them all. Really a great option to read Patricia Fishers Mystery Adventures Set 1 and set 2
The plots were very far fetched, but entertaining. I was surprised by some aspects if the writing style. Here was a home counties narrator using some idd phrases. So odd that I have never encountered them in the 2 books a week ir thereabouts that I have read on the kast 70 years. Who 'snags' an item as opposed to grabbing it? Who 'cuts their eyes at ...' as opposed to glancing or looking at someone? The word 'moot' was used in the American way so I can only assume the other phrases are also Americanisms, and they jarred every time they appeared. The general style seemed slightly old fashioned - a bit Agatha Christie - and didn't always read well. Overall a a lightweight and slightly disappointing read
This series kept me reading day after day, sometimes hour after hour. The plot twists are fun, the characters clearly distinct and wonderfully complete, either likable or despicable. There is a bit of the super hero, people able to do things that are quite over the top. For me, this added to the fun of it all. The relationships are clear, the action constant and kept my eyes glued to the page. I simply didn't want to stop reading.
I love these books! Such fun reads. I enjoy reading about her friends, even the police, who love to 'hate' her. They can be hard to put down and I find myself staying awake late into the to just get to the next chapter. 😆 I want to thank the author managed to write several successful books without profanity. And I'm going to widen out and read some of Mr. Higgs other books.
I started on Steve Higgs out of bordom waiting for my favorite authors to provide me with affordable great reading. I love to read ,escape, be thrilled, surprised and cry. I've been known to flat quit an author if they extremely disappoint me. Since Kindle unlimited is an affordable source of new authors I am pleased to expand my enjoyable reading experiences. I'm looking forward to my next adventure. Bravo!
Another winning series. The characters and stories are great fun. I wish all the excitement and running I mentally do with these characters actually burned calories. I'd look like Barbie, and older Barbie, but I'd take it.
Treat yourself to lots of fun. I'm on the next adventures with the Ship Detective
Truly enjoyed this series and the previous one for Patricia Fisher. The posts on facebook I've seen for these say they keep you laughing...I have to admit I only laughed out loud about 3 times in the 20 stories, but they are easy to read, done very well, hard to put down, keep you interested and wanting to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend it.
Would the real Mrs Fischer please raise your hand ?
I bought this box set because I it, once I was over the disappointment, I could honestly say I enjoyed this series. I found the lip wriggling and twitching repetitive and annoying, but the storyline was good, so I read all of them.
I absolutely adored this series. In fact, I couldn’t stop reading until I read the whole series. The stories were engaging, the characters were great, and the changing locations were fun. I am a cruiser, so this stories really appealed to me. Every story was unique and very interesting to say the least. I highly recommend this series.
What a fun ride following Mrs. Fisher and her diehard friends both on the high seas and merry England! I just couldn’t put them down and can hardly wait to read more!
The series is absolutely wonderful. The characters are real. The friendships are real. The adventures are wonderful. So much mire to come, I hope. Great read!
I was hooked from the first book that I couldn't stop until I've read all 10. Loved that Patricia got to put Angelica in her place & beat Charlie at his own game. Looking forward to the next Patricia Fisher books.
Continuing her saga after she left the ship, lots of exciting messes to get tangled up in. And now a last desperate escape. Steve Higgs never disappoints! Patricia even says hi to Albert and Rex in the post office before they go off on their culinary quest.
As a women the same age as the lead character I thoroughly enjoyed following her breathtakingly adventures. Wonderful settings with beautifully written characters. Thank you for hours of pleasure.
Fun mysteries, likeable characters, some slapstick humor and a cruise ship or a mansion combine to make enjoyable, easy to read books. You cheer for the good guys and root for spear fishing guns, well placed kicks and gin and tonics.
The ten book boxed set was wonderful and comical at times. What a good series to read. Now on to the next ten books. Its really great that the series is all together.
This is the second set of Patricia Fisher books I’ve read. I love how each book is a little better than the last. I really enjoy the continuation of characters. I can’t wait to see how she does as the ship’s detective.
I can't begin to express how much I've enjoyed these books. I tend to bounce between series to keep my mind engaged, but about book five I stayed with this one. It's 'Murder She Wrote', but on a luxury cruise ship.
The exploits of this lady are fun and highly unlikely, the characters and stories are well done and all in all these are an enjoyable cosy murder mystery series of stories.
This was a fun series beginning with great characters! Going back now to read the beginning stories!! Loved seeing Tempest and Big Ben in some of these too!!
