The mist will eradicate all life unless she finds a way to stop it.
Despite her best efforts, Agathe didn’t kill the King, but she did escape with something even more valuable.
Stealing back her magic was a good start. Now, she must find a way to save the Kingdom from the rising mist and the threats within. The spells that used to protect are fading fast with deadly consequences.
After more than a century of peace, the monsters have returned to attack the towns and villages, but they’re not the only danger. A sickness in the mist mutates everything it touches—except for Agathe. She’s special. If only she knew how to use that to her advantage.
Who can she ask for help? Who should she believe?
Maric, the King’s most valued soldier—and her lover—wants her to return to the Citadel and join forces with the monarch who stole her magic once before.
Then there’s Zanir, a smooth-tongued liar who taunts her via a mirror. He promises her answers. Demands that she come to him so he can show her the truth.
The fact is, both men want to use her, and the wrong choice might mean the end of Agathe—and the Kingdom.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
I usually dislike books that change heroes from one book to the next (esp after having given no hints to it in prev books) but the overall plot and direction of this book has got me looking forward to the next one!

I was feeling quite confused through about 30% of this book. I finally started to see what was happening. What a twisted ride. I'm not surprised at what we discover in this second story in this series. There is still much to learn. I will be waiting impatiently for the conclusion. This is a great series. I love these wonderful women.
This book continues directly from Book 1 Mist Rising where it was revealed
A lot of this book has Agathe learning about how to use her abilities as well as us learning what actually happened in the intervening years. We also get to learn a lot more about the Abyss and what was the purpose of the Abbaes and the Soraers.
This book also introduces Zanir, whom Agathe met via a mirror and who told her not to trust General Maric. But we don't get to know why until the very end of the book and it's another doozy and again, leaving us hanging for book 3 Deadly Abyss
This is really good, but I do confess confusing at times too. See, Agatha has some years uncounted for so as she is trying to figure it out, I am also trying to figure out how it all comes together. Not to mention that is is not Agatha either. Oh yes, quite the ride.
Agathe lives in a world that is getting overun by the mist, and in the mist there are monsters. But this books shows that who are the monsters really? And whose fault is everything? Everything is not as it seems to be.
With her she has her fellow sisters in arms, and Meric, her lover.
Though one thing that I guessed back in book 1 showed to be true. I can't say I am glad to say I was right. It was quite the shock.
It is such a fun book. Adventure, danger, some love, betrayal and monsters. I am really looking forward to the conclusion.
Great narration. She did a good job with keeping the book alive and making all characters pop
Agathe has escaped the King and has reunited with her two mothers, Venna and Hiix. When they are found again by Maric and his soldiers, she is once again smitten by his lies and good looks. When she accidentally falls into the abyss, and finds another Abbae, she finds herself reunited with an ostrawk, a winged like bird, she had previously saved, who soon becomes her friend who finds prey for them to nourish themselves with. Unfortunately she once again does not heed a warning not to enter a warded room, and finds herself alerting another predator to her existence and location when she touches a hidden mirror. Will she find a way out of the abyss and reunite with her mothers so she can complete her mission to kill the king? Wow! This book was so exciting! I loved it.
Whoa, that did not go at all like I expected and I am fully invested in how this story will play out!!! Everything gets turned upside down and around, and you aren’t sure who is what and what is who, and I need to know what the truth is!
It took me a long time to get into this story, I felt like I was missing something all the time so I had to go back and reread the first book, now I can’t put it down
Continuation of last book. The plot progresses, just found what the MC was going through a little tough to swallow. Can’t wait for the third for butt head to get his😈
I know it's separated into three books, but it's actually just one story and it was beyond good. I've read most of her works, enjoyed them all, but this one is stellar.
