The heroine: Ashleigh (a.k.a. Ash) - Ash is the only daughter of the ultra wealthy Adamson family and since she finished college she is now expected to marry Stuart. A man she hardly knows and doesn’t like. But that is what happens in families like hers. The women aren’t good for anything but making deals and binding two wealthy families together.

The Hero(es): Giancarlo (a.k.a. Gian) - Gian is a Capo of the Valentino Crime family. The Healy family has been trying to encroach on his territory for a while now and an all out war between the two families seems imminent.

The Story: Ash and Gian meet at a retirement part after she finds out that her soon to be fiancé is not above using brute force to bend her to his will. Gian steps in and they go off together. Though Ash still plans to do what her family wants, she is not above spending one night doing what she wants.

When Ash find out she is pregnant she goes to Gian for help. Gian is more than willing to protect her. The story is a good one and I like most of it. Though it seems there are two ways a mafia story can go. One is where the mafia guy protects the woman and keeps her out of everything he does for the family and the other where he wants her to see exactly what she is getting into so involves her in the worst parts of his job.

This is the second type and as a woman, I guess I like the first type better. If my man was involved in illegal things, even knowing that he is in the mafia, I would rather stay out of those things so that I can’t get arrested with him if he ever does. Especially if I had kids to worry about. Not that the romance novel Hero’s would ever get arrested, but you know what I mean.

I don’t mind a strong woman and women that go into battle (whether in the military or on the streets), I just think before doing so, they should be fully trained, ready and willing to do so by their own choice. Anyway, despite this one thing, I think it was a good story and Ash obviously didn’t feel the same way about these things as I do, so it is all good.

High society rich girl unhappy with her life meets a stranger at a function, helps her, they end up having sex, then go their separate ways. He ends up being a capo of the Valentino family, and she ends up getting pregnant. This is where the real fun begins, and oh boy, is it complicated. I love a good surprise pregnancy.

Their story is full of suspense with dark undertones. On my dark scale, it's light gray. Falling For a Killer is well written; you can't help but fall in love with Gian, who is fiercely protective of his family. If you're looking for a quick read that will draw you in that book is for you.

This book brings us Gian and Ash. Ash comes from a very wealthy family, and Gian is the capo for the Valentino family. Gian meets Ash at a party at her famlly's home where they are going to introduce her and her "finance" Stuart. Ash hates Stuart and can't believe that he family is making her marry him, only to help out both families. After a physical encounter with Stuart, Ash leaves with Gian and they spend the night together. Gian gives Ash his card and tells her if she needs anything to contact him. They don't think they will see each other again, but their feelings won't go away either. One day Ash contacts Gian and tells him something that surprisingly he takes rather well. He vows to take care of Ash. Gian takes Ash on a couple of his "jobs" so that she knows just what type of man he is. While she isn't thrilled, she does realize that he cares for her more than her family. We mustn't forget good old Stuart, as he tries to break them up. This is a great read and I do recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

This was a fun read. More spicy than the first book.

This story is about Gian and Ash. I thought that their story was really sweet and a bit odd at times. I thought it was a bit reckless that Gian was bringing Ash along on all the murders, B&Es, and drug deals. Also, suspend all reality that the police in this city are remotely competent or quick. I would have liked to have seen more of relationship after the fell in love.

Overall, another fun and quick read. Looking forward to Dean's story!

Ash a sheltered socialite is the quintessential yes sir girl and she is tired of it. Her life ha sheen pre-planned to her school, her life, and her husband. She is sick of not having choices especially when her soon to be husband is an abusive prick. At a party, Gian steps in between a situation where her soon to be fiancé is hurting her with no help from the elite money surrounding her as she is his soon to be ‘property’ and they can’t rock the boat. Gian stops Stuart from hurting Ash and takes her away. They have an instant connection and share a wild and hot night together. But this nights has lasting consequences. Of which set a ball rolling in motion for the rest of the book.

Ash shows up and tells Gian about the baby. He is shocked to realize he wants her and their baby and will do anything to keep them. Gian a fixer for the Valentino family, introduces her to a whole new world. He helps her through her crisis of deciding to go against the families wishes and against Stuart. But apparently Stuart doesn’t like to lose and that’s where it starts to get dicey.

The story has lots of ups and downs. It has an intriguing story and connecting characters. Gian although a mafia guy is upfront and honest about who he is but at the heart of it he is genuinely a caring guy. He cares for his guys and Ash. And she begins to realize the guys she has known very shortly, he cares more about her and would do more for her than her family who she has known her whole life.

The book sucks you in from the start and you just keep flipping pages until suddenly you realize you’re at the end. Can’t wait for more!! How Dean is next!

“Falling for the Killer” is a mafia-centered story that highlights one of the things author BB Hamel does best – blurring the lines of good and evil, and accentuating all the shades of grey that exist in the world.

Ash is the daughter of extremely wealthy and influential parents, but the life of financial privilege is a double-edged sword because those same parents treat her like property. They control every aspect of her life, including the orchestration of a marriage between her and a man she detests. All her parents care about is that the alliance will improve their business interests. Gian is a confident and capable crime family Capo. Ash meets him at a retirement party and they are immediately attracted to one another. She decides that even if she can’t control her future, she can at least take what she wants that night … and what she wants is a quick, hot interlude with Gian. When there are unexpected consequences, Gian is willing to stand beside her, even as a conflict with a rival crime family is heating up and demanding his attention. Ash is used to a world of false smiles, fake people and manipulation. Gian gives her the respect of truth and honesty. He’s straightforward with her about the criminal activity and violence that fills his world.

As Ash and Gian figure out if there’s a way forward for them together, everything around them also keeps churning with tension and unpredictability. I thought the book was well-paced and it kept my interest throughout. If you’re familiar with other books about the crime families in this one, you’ll recognize some of the colorful secondary characters. Overall, this is a quick and entertaining story with a good ending.

Absolutely Loved This Book....

And I don't know why! 🙂 The writing was great & the characters were wonderful, but everybody was into stuff that is not very good, treating "rival" mafia types with bullets & fists! But I liked it!! I mean, I have read several of Hamel's books & this writing is not what I remember. Yes, the other books were fine, to me, and its not necessarily that the other stories were less "dark". But the way it read, the flow, the character personality was just really good. Another thing I liked is that it started right away with Ash's issue, with her coming straight out with it to Gian, and the two of them communicating a out how they were going to handle it. She wasn't a whining smart ass who pouted and cried about getting her way and Gian didn't present as the " I'm head over hills for no good reason & will do whatever you tell me to.", type dude. That was wonderful to have because so many of the romance novels do this. I think Hamel has done it. But Gian is the ultimate alpha, in control, very good descriptions of him with his clothes off & the things they do when they are off is a very good read! It took longer than I thought, but hot and descriptive, nonetheless. You will love the no nonsense characters in this read. Its a well oiled flowing of the lifestyles of these two people, quickly established and it keeps you wanting to see what happens next. Worth your time to read it.

It is the second installment in her Valentino Crime family series and chronicles the romantic journey of Ashleigh “Ash” Adamson and Giancarlo “Gian” Rosseni. She is the daughter of a prestigious family that was raised to be a pawn for her ambitious father in securing financial security through an arranged marriage. The man who she is supposed to marry is Stuart Plight, an egotistical, unscrupulous, and abusive man. Much to her parents chagrin, Ash takes step to not marry Stuart. That is when she meets Gian. To escape her dire situation, she seeks refuge with Gian in a wonderful one night stand. Weeks later she discovers she is pregnant which alters her life’s trajectory. Shoe seeks out Gian who willingly and happily takes her in. Due to the way she was raised, Ash had difficulty blindly accepting Gian’s kindness. Will she find happiness? Can she escape the chains of the way she was raised? How does Stuart react to being rejected? Does he seek revenge? To discover what happens you must read this book.
As always, Ms. Hamel’s writing style is quite enjoyable. She is a master at creating complex characters both primary and secondary allowing readers to connect to them. For instances, I quickly knew that I liked Ash’s family. Likewise, I knew I did not like Stuart Plight, nor did I like Colm Healy, the head of the Healy crime family. I enjoy her use of a dual-prong plot—romance and suspense. Her use of rich dialog, along with descriptive language, allows her plot line to flow smoothly. I admire how she uses the lead characters’ self-reflection as part of the rising action as well as the internal workings of a mafia crew. Nicely done, Ms. Hamel!

In this story we have an unusual love story between Gian and Ash. Gian is a Capo in the Valentino crime family who meets Ash at a party with socialites and he sees a man, Stuart being rough with her. Ash comes from one of the wealthy families in Philadelphia and has been raised to yes everyone, being a good girl and making good decisions. When he interrupts them Stuart leaves and Gian takes Ash to a private area and she explains who Stuart is and then they become one for a short period of time. Ash runs away and continues on with her life until she discovers she is pregnant. Ash knows this will cause problems as she is expected to marry Stuart so when he comes to her home to start planning the wedding he puts his hands on her again and Gian happens to be there and takes joy in punching and knocking him out. Ash ends up leaving with Gian and they discover what each other is about and how to deal with the threats from her family and Stuart. Gian has taken the news surprisingly good and let’s her know he will be there for both of them no matter what! Ash has no understanding about Gian’s life so he shows her and she does not go running away. How these two work together to stay safe is a beautiful journey to finding out that they want to be together and see where this takes them! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "FALLING FOR THE KILLER". This was a great well written story that pulls you in from the start to end suspense, intrigue, abuse, angst, danger, action, steamy scenes, twists that make for an enjoyable read.
Ash Adamson is a sheltered princess always doing as her very wealthy parents want their want her marry into a mother wealthy family to benefit them she's sick of being used by them she hates Stuart he's abusive.
Gian is capo of the Valentine Mafia Family goes to a party where Ash & Stuart are suppose to announce their engagement but she has an altercation with Stuart & Gian intervenes they both leave end up spending the night together he gives her his number to call if she needs anything.
Ash finds out she got a little surprise from her night with Gian her parents don't want anything to do with it so she goes to Gian he takes her in wanting both her & the surprise.
Gian Valentino is at war with Mafia rivals he hides nothing from Ash wanting her to know who he is will they get their HEA or will she return to get her family you have to get this book to see how it all turns out.
I definitely recommend to get this book the characters were interesting, captivating well worth the read I can't wait for the next book.

I blushed a little, not totally sure what he meant.
“Sometimes,” I said. “My parents drag me along. How do you know Barry Plight?”
Gian shook his head. “I don’t. My employer does, though, and he brought me along.”
“Lucky you.” I tilted my head toward him. “Do you work in one of the hedge funds?”
He laughed like I said the most hilarious thing he’d ever heard. “Not exactly,” he said.
“What do you mean?” I asked, getting a little annoyed. I was happy he showed up and extricated me from Stuart’s grip, but I didn’t need him to be a condescending asshole to me now, too. I could go find Stuart if I wanted that.


🙄Entitled much? She'd rather hang out with a guy who was groping her than be with the hero.




“What’s going on there then?” Gian asked.
“You ask a lot of questions,” I said, wrinkling my nose. “It’s not polite, you know.”

An dangerous affair!
But can you say “affair” if your parents intend to (forcefully) marry you with someone?
Even if you don’t want him, and not even like him? A cruel man who already decided your future?
And at the very party intended to parade you and you fiance ..... someone appear to rescue you from him - even for a few minutes. Some wonderfull minutes, full of ecstasy! Perheps for the last time.....

What can go wrong, you may say? Ash and Gian’s passionate meeting result in creating a new life....
And from there, all go wrong!

It was wonderful to read the twisted relationships and events that their little problem creates.
The blooming of love between Ash and Gian, the war between some powerful men, the scare, the fear, the fight, but also the hope, the passion - all this make this an must read!
You can’t let it from your hands! It captivate you and keep you half breething till the end!
And in the end, you will wish to read more!
Fortunately, more stories about Valentino family will follow!

Feeling oppressed and cornered by the demands of others, Ash unexpectedly finds herself compromised and deeply involved in a Mafia Capo's violent life. Willing to protect Ash, Gian wasn't going to back down even with a gangster war just around the corner. Interesting and exciting how Ash reassesses her life before meet Gian and considers what she has in front of her. I liked that Gian didn't disguise things, he was genuine with Ash, fearless and also caring and protective of his people. Many emotions involved and considering the circumstances of Ash and Gian what else could they do to make things work? I like these gangster stories that get me thinking about the gray areas of life. Action, suspense, drama, violence, camaraderie, romance and heated passion. I voluntarily reviewed this copy which I liked.

We are back with the Valentino mafia family, Gian is a tough capo fighting on the front lines when his path crosses with Ash Adamson who is out on her forced engagement party to a man she detests and her family who are prize manipulators and have no thought for Ash. The result of this unexpected encounter is not what Ash and Gian foresaw but Gian intends to face up to his mistakes, making good of the situation, but he needs to get Ash on board, not that easy !!! With the Mafia families at war nobody is safe, there are plenty of twists and turns, heartache and with a chemistry that’s off the charts. Will Ash and Gian get a HEA, only reading this book will give you the answers. As capo he makes sure all goes well in his area and anywhere else the Don needs him. When he meets Ash, he experiences the best sex of his life. He can't seem to forget her. When she calls him with some news, it changes everything. When Ash tells her family that she is refusing to marry the man they want her to marry for the connections, things get dangerous. This is a well written story with good characters and a plot line that keeps you reading to the end. An easy one-click.

Spoiled princess and a mafia Capo

I normally hate "accidental pregnancy" books because I'm pretty sure we all know what causes kids, but I have loved BB Hamel's mafia books so I figured I'd give this one a chance! I am so glad I did. I loved how the heroine handled her discovery of her pregnancy. I loved the Hero's reaction to the news, as well as how he never hides who he is from her (at least, not after their first meeting). I found this book to be a quick read, even though it was almost 200 pages. There was a little drama, a decent amount of action, and growing love between our characters.

The story between Gian & Ashleigh keeps you captivated into wanting to finish reading this novel in a single sitting. Two unlikely characters, he's a killer & she's from a very rich family, who discover they not only have a spark but it turns into a full-blown fireworks show! Gian has a gentler side towards Ash & is willing to step forward in protecting her from her arranged fiance & her parents who want a financial merger with that marriage. Ashleigh learns she likes being with him & she gains the confidence in having a mind of her own; not being a puppet & doing her parents' bidding.

Pick up a copy of this novel & fall into the life of the Mafia. Well-worth reading this one!

Socialite and thug

Ashleigh (Ash) is trapped. If she wants to keep her trust fund and family wealth, she must marry the man her family has chosen for her. The problem with that, other than she doesn’t love him, is that he’s an abusive, entitled, misogynistic jerk. So, when the most handsome man she’s ever seen comes to her rescue when said jerk is hurting her, she leaves with him and has the best night she can remember. The only problem with that is she’s now pregnant. What can she do?

Gian is in “the family” and really enjoys his job. But when he sees a beautiful woman being hurt by a man that he knows thinks he’s better than everyone else, he steps in. He never expected that one act to change the trajectory of his life.

Not at all what I expected!
One definitely doesn’t think of a love story of this dimension when seeing the title, and this is just the first twist Ms. Hamel has in store for her readers.
Ashleigh and Gian meet at the party her father has given to introduce her and her “fiancé” Stuart. Being that this “relationship” is arranged, she is exceedingly upset about not having any input in her father’s plans for her. Luckily for her, she “gets together” with Gian that night when they both are unable to fight the exceptional attraction.

Full of everything you would think happens in great Mafia stories and so much more!!

Ewan and Tara are like vinegar and water but will definitely capture your heart.

All the dynamics and politics of their world is written into one fantastic, tantalizing, energizing, maddening and gruesome story. It draws you into one crazy turf war that also includes one thing the main character, Ewan, is dead set against doing.

Ash is being forced to marry a cruel man by her parents, and at the party where the engagement is supposed to be announced Gian come to her rescue. Gian is a Capo for the Valentino crime family, and he comes to Ash’s rescue, and when she discovers she is pregnant she needs to escape her home. This is a well written story which is filled with danger, suspense, passion, and love. I was hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Gian and Ash's Story!

I like this storyline alot! If Ash stayed with Stuart she would of been a shell of her self,old and worn down before her time.It sounded like she wouldn't get any help from her parents and no love either.She found happiness with Gwain plus a baby named Danny.This made Ash grow up and made her realize Gwain was her man! B.B.Hamel I like this story and the last three books I really enjoy the eye candy for your book covers so great job to you and who ever helps to pick out the covers!

heads up she goes all in

Our delicate princess really goes all in when she realizes it’s better to be the villain than the victim. She embraces the mafia. And he loves her fierceness for it. Continually gives her an out and she keeps saying “keep going” …. Each instance becoming more and more darker.

He’s a brute. He’s a head capo. But he also is protective and upfront. Doesn’t hide anything from her. And does not hold back on his life shows her everything…

The spice is a solid 3/5 chilis. It’s explicit but not all the time. More plot than spice.

I read this book in one sitting, and it’s not a short book !! I loved Gian and Ash’s love story. They are opposites in every way. The plot was intriguing and well developed. Spoiler alert: They met, had sex, and she got pregnant all in one night. This is a dark mafia romance full of steam, danger, suspense and murder. I really enjoyed it. Her family doesn’t want anything to do with the baby and want her to get rid of it and marry a man for his connections. She contains Gian for protection. Can Gian keep her safe from her powerful father and his mafia enemies? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters and an entertaining story. I liked it.

Mafia Romantic Suspense!

I love this book. It gets a little dark. But that happens when the hero is a mafia Capo who gets his hands dirty. But he is gorgeous and has a chivalrous side. Gian steps in and rescues Ash being abused in public. Nobody else at the upper crust party will help her. Not even her family. And so this romance/adventure begins. It is fast paced and very steamy. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.

Good story with amazing character development

It’s a great romance inside the mafia and high society. The story of the two heroes, Ashley, from a wealthy family, and Gian, a mobster, is mounding, passionate, thrilling, twisty and unpredictable between these two worlds as dirty as each other.
I liked the unexpected turn in Ashley's behavior, and her choices.

Her coldhearted family expects her to toe the line and do what is expected of her, which does not include having a baby with someone they haven't handpicked for her. Ash has been raised to put her family first and herself second but the baby changes everything. When she shows up at Gian's door to tell him she is pregnant, he realizes that he wants both the baby and Ash. I couldn't help liking Gian even if he didn't think twice about killing. He has his own code that he lives by and he is protective and caring with Ash who has never known those things before. The writing is great and so is the interesting story. I really liked it a lot.
