I am a veteran teacher of 10 years. I have had lots of training and have read lots of books on teaching. Reagan Tunstall's "Guided Math AMPED" did not disappoint! She offers practical, actionable advice on how one can make small changes to better serve the students we teach during the time we are allotted for our math blocks. Tunstall addresses all of the elements of guided math including the warm-up, mini-lesson, small group instruction, stations, closure, etc... At the heart of her book was a message of observation, reflection, flexibility, and perseverance. It was a short, easy read that gave me a few new ideas and reinforced some of my own ideas. I enjoyed this book and encouraged friends to read it as well.

Well done! Tunstall’s presentation of how to implement Guided Math is so well done! Two years ago I attended a two-day guided math conference and came home overloaded with truly wonderful, creative ideas, but zero idea how to implement those ideas! This is the ‘Why?’ and the ‘How to.’ Tunstall is realistic, transparent, and I enjoyed her writing style.

This book gives a detailed layout of how to create an amazing math block! I've done this math block for 10+ years and it's the best! Seeing a book and details about it helps me help more teachers.

Loved every bit of it!
As a first year teacher with so many questions, this book taught me a lot about guided math. I feel equipped to go in and create an AMPED math block!

Incredible insight to a supper effective framework for teaching math. Anyone who teaches math (at any level) should read this book!
