This book and Lou and Junior partially overlap at times; therefore, you will see the same scene from the view of the main character. Hi, I'm Isolde. The day I met Hendrix Drummond was the day my mom died. I lost more than my mom though. I lost most of my hearing, and soon enough, I would lose all of it. I'm a senior in high school. I want to do something other than just graduate. My dad is overprotective and will not let me date. I didn't get to say more than hi to Hendrix when I met him. That was years ago. This year, I...tried to run right through him and we share a few classes together, and...he's into me. Really, truly, he likes me and that is the scariest feeling I have known. How am I supposed to date the most popular guy in school, possibly the area, maybe even the state? Hey, I'm Hendrix. I have all the genetic magnetism a Drummond could possess. I don't know why, and I also don't care. I'm tired of them, the girls, the constant attention. I'm running out of patience to be polite, nice, and then…I met someone I liked. I met two someone’s and it wasn’t until I met Isolde, I realized I didn’t want to be with Brooklynn, not like I originally wanted to. I don’t even know how I got started in a relationship much less how to end one to start another. This year is messed up and the family curse is upon me and…I hope it doesn’t break my heart. I’m trying not to break anyone else’s either. I should have skipped this year and went to college instead.

Romantic YA with true love

Hendrix is a gifted musician and old soul wanting to find true love and his happily ever after. Brooklyn is a family friend and really wild and uses her sexuality as a weapon. Isolde is a teen who has a disability that she won’t let define her. I loved reading Hendrix as he is a hopeless romantic with a mistaken bad boy image. He has endured his older twin sisters and is especially close to his cousins. Once he follows his heart and isn’t afraid to fall in love - good things happen. With each Drummond book I think “this is my favorite” and for me- thus far Hendrix is my favorite! Recommend starting with Drum, Fight and Break to fall in love with the whole family.

I liked Isolde, though her dad's abandonment at the end felt off.
Hendrix such a good boy, but good to see he was still just a boy.
Brooklyn was a wreaking ball and part of me feels like she got let off lightly, was glad I didn't read Lou it would have broke my heart.
