Average series. Good start disappointing progression.
Started out really well, quite unique. As the story progressed, less and less time was devoted to equipment and skills and getting better, or even using said skills intelligently in combat, and more time was spent with politics and intrigue. No development of tactics or anything at all really, bit disappointing. Gave up on Book 5 as it felt like it was going nowhere. Upgrades coming out of nowhere, no logic or progression by then.
