Riding with Ravan
#qotd:- Have you ever been to a family trip where the trip which you assumed to be something like visiting places but it turned out to be a total adventure for you and to your family?
Ramayan has not only been the epic tale of India but of other Asian countries where we even find temples dedicated to Lord Ram, Hanuman and others. But when it comes to Sri Lanka which played an important role in Ramayan has some different story(though not in bad) but people there think that Lord Ram invaded their nation and killed one of their great rulers and took Sita back.
This book by Ezuth Aani depicts the way Indian authors are taking the future of writing to a new level. In the starting few pages of the book, the story is gripping and you may not let this book down because of the curiosity to see what happens. The title is somewhat intriguing and makes us to feel that it might be another mythological story but there you are totally wrong because this book is totally different. This book is the perfect blend of myth and science fiction and the author has presented it beautifully.
The story is about Sunil, who is a veteran of Kargil war, is on a family vacation to Sri Lanka with his wife, Lakshmy and his two children. In his trip, he finds a mysterious shining stone and he being the air defense personnel recognizes that this metal piece might be that of the air craft. But on his questioning to his guide, he comes to know that this metal would have been that of the air craft which would have crashed during 60’s or 70’s. From the day, he got that shining metal, strange things begin to happen to Sunil like seeing demons in his dreams, people addressing him as Raavan Raja’s anointed one and others. In one of his dream, the demon people shows him the route to find the other metal and when he goes there with his guide, he finds that. So now what will happen to Sunil and to his family? Is some paranormal thing happening to him from the day he finds that shining metal? And what’s the connection of demonic king of Ramayan, Ravan , in this plot? Find out by diving into this book.
The plot is superbly built and the narration is also good. Though there were slight spelling mistakes here and there which could be overseen but the book is well written. The book also tells the historical importance of Sri Lanka and makes us to visit that place. The book doesn’t has any tough phrases or the difficult words which makes it suitable for the beginners. Overall, a superb read and I would say a better read during this pandemic.

I am not much into mythological fiction but this is the first time that i have ever heard about the combination of mythology and science. The theme fascinated me to pick this book. This book talks about two different poles which is an ultimate contradiction for the existence of each other.
The story revolves around Sunil who is a army man. His family was on vacation to Sri Lanka. During his vacation, he found a metal piece. After asking the guide about it, he was told that it might be a piece of craft that was lost during 60s.
Soon after the things changed and he was seeing devils and demons in his dreams. He was told by those devils to find a missing piece of metal. What was that piece?? Will he be able to find it?? Will his family be free from all these forces? Read the book to find out more.
The book is literally a thrilling and adventurous read. I enjoyed the book to the core and i could not deny the fact that it was an absolute thriller with unique story and plot.
Narration and writing style was great and admirable.
Cover and title is amazing.
Overall a definitely recommendable read.

The book riding with Ravan, it's apt cover with Ravan's head and a male and female silhouette which will be Sunil and Radhika.
The story is about Sunil, and Laxmi are on their vacation, but something or someone keeps happening. Will they uncover the mystery or is it a hoax is the story.
The best part has certain parts which hooks you like finding stuffs, it's value so forth. It is definitely interesting. Whereas there are parts which fell flat like too much area explanation or too much data shared.
Overall Ravan hooks you but also confuses you

This book is about sucess strategies to become a super achiever . This book contains 10 chapters.
In 1st chapter tells us that how to aim high and to make honourable yourself. It tells us to visualising and practice sucess before making a successful.
2nd chapter tells about no one is failure . And it also tells that not to drop the dreams until it comes true. 3rd chapter tells us about “ PROCRASTINATION ” . PROCRASTINATION means to postponing a task to be done later. Procrastination is never a time management issue; it is an emotional affair.
4th chapter tells us about time management. Author told that time should be managed to achieve your success.
5th chapter tells us about determination. Author told that Success never happens by accident. We have to achieve our success by own. Then author told about Focus and Speed which means we should focus on our dreams to overcome it.
6th chapter tells us about self Decipline . Discipline helps you overcome laziness.Improves your decision-making power.It increases your efficiency.
7th chapter tells us about Overthinking analysing thoughts, situations, people or even circumstances way more than required. It becomes a continuous process that keeps the brain active and allows the trafficking of thoughts and memories, thereby not allowing the brain to relax.
8th chapter tells us about hard work. We all khow that hard work is very important part to make success your dreams.
9th chapter tells us about negative thoughts. We all khow that negative thoughts distract us from our dreams so we should prevent from negative thoughts. RIDING ON A RAVAN
Myths always fascinates us a lot when we were kids and even to this day we sometimes give reference from those myths especially from Ramayan and Mahabharatha. These myths stay in our life and whatever incidents happen we sometimes to take some lessons from these myths.

Riding on Ravan shows us that Indian writers are taking the writing to a whole new level and this book is the perfect blend of myth and sci-fi.
The main protagonist in the book is a veteran of Kargil war, Sunil is on a vacation with his family in Sri Lanka. While visiting many places in Sri Lanka, Sunil encounters a vivid object and when he finds that, he gets to know that it’s a metal piece from an airplane and upon a word with his guide, he comes to know that there was a plane crash some fifty year ago and that the object might be belonging to that object.
But the same night, he has a strange dream where he sees demonic mask people, who were belonging to a certain tribe were giving respect to him and treating him like RAVAN RAJA. From the following day, whomever he meets, tells him that he is been anointed by Ravan Raja himself and during their visit to the local folk show, he loses himself and dances like been possessed. But when asked by his wife Lakshmy, he says that he didn’t know what came into him. The same night, in his dream, the same demonic people directs him to a place where he can find the other part of the object which he discovered earlier.
So now the question comes is why is that happening only to Sunil and what connection does he has with Ravan Raja? To find the answer, pick this book and dive in.
This book is simple and writing is also good with no difficulty in understanding and even a beginner can start their reading journey with this book. The concepts are well researched and presented well. The book also present the history of Sri Lanka though we know how Lanka is well connected with India through Ramayan. Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others as well.

An Indian family seeking to have a holiday in Sri Lanka find themselves in the middle of an adventure of a lifetime. There are 4 characters in that family Sunil, his wife Lakshmy, daughter Kavita and son Ajay. Sunil, a civil engineer himself marveled at the ability of the ancients. How did the ancient workers scale this rock and build a palace replete with artificial ponds and water ways at this height? How did they haul the building materials atop this rock? Not only that how did they take food and water to the workers at the summit? He had always wondered that there must have been civilizations with greater scientific and technological know-how than the present, in the ancient past. Sunil and Ajay both wonder how ancient workers did all this beautiful architecture. Now the strange things are started, when Sunil finds a mysterious stone near that pond. What was that mysterious stone? What happened next? Read this interesting book to know what happened next.

This story revolves around the life of Sunil and his wife, Lakshmy who along with their kids went on a vacation to Sri Lanka. This tour started as a very pleasant fun trip at first but soon it started changing the whole vibes of a vacation into something more unusual.
🕯️My take on the story -
This is an amazing science fiction with a touch of mythology and fantasy.
Don't be too quick to judge this book to be a mythological read only because it has lot more to offer than that for sure. You can take my words for that.
The plot is laid amazingly with elements of pasts in it. The blend of historic evidences into the present scenario of the plot is structured so smoothly without any rough edges.
The characters are developed strongly.
The title of the book is an intriguing quest in itself.
Smooth flowing narration is complementing the plot of the story.

Does it have to do something with the actual mighty mythological character of "Ravan"?

This is very interesting story . I've finished it in the single sit . Riding with Ravan is a mixture of mythology and science fiction book which makes you never go out of it , if u opened book.

Sunil , kargil veteran and lakshmy going to sri lanka for a vacation along with their children . This story especially took us to Srilanka . Such a beautiful writing by author . I've mesmerized by the beauty and spot of srilanka through author words.
There, Sunil found 2 strange shining metallic piece . Sunil thought something into it as he was kargil veteran and airforce office. He collected information in Sri Lankan natives . He didn't collect much information out of it . They went various spot , there lakshmy fell down from lakes . Here I felt emotional connect between family .

This is very interesting story . I've finished it in the single sit . Riding with Ravan is a mixture of mythology and science fiction book which makes you go out of it , if u opened book.

I was very excited to start this book since the title has Ravan in it. I am huge supporter of Ravana and this made me to look what's in the book. This book talks about two different poles which is mythology and science. Both contradict the existence of the other.
This fiction could also be seen as a tribute to the army men. Sunil, the protagonist of this novel works at Kargil war, he goes on a family vacation to Sri Lanka with his wife Lakshmy and two children. On his way, he found a shining metal, he believes it was a part of an aircraft. He asked the guide about it, he said it might be a piece of a craft that was lost during 60s.
He found things started changing strange. He was disturbed by some unidentified forces. He was visited by devils in his dreams. He was again told by the demons to find the missing metal. Will he find it?
Will his family be free from all these I'll spirits? Read the book to know the climax.
The book also teaches us some values like courage, belief and affection. This book serves as a reference to the historical Ramayana.
The author has brought the ancient culture and the modern culture close. The book is a definite thriller which will make you sit on the edge of seat. I loved the book very much!

Sunil is a military person. When he returns home he and Lakshmy his wife plans for a family vacation to Srilanka. They met up with many strange things during their trip. They both thought like the spirit of Ravan is guiding them to do something. After lots of mess Sunil discovers some kind of metal. Lakshmy is exposed to a tragedy and they found something miserable in her recovery. The things goes like this and they return back to India.

Don't judge this book by its cover. As the name Riding with Ravan the first thought one would have that it is a mythological book but it is somehow different as it is a science fiction book. Unlike the usual science fiction that takes us into the future, Riding with Ravan takes us back in time
The story is about an Indian family whose holiday became all time adventure for them. There are 4 characters in that family Sunil, his wife Lakshmi,daughter Kavita and son Ajay. Sunil, a civil engineer himself marveled at the ability of the ancients. Sunil and Ajay both wonder how ancient workers did all this beautiful architecture.
He had always wondered that there must have been civilizations with greater scientific and technological know-how than the present, in the ancient past. Now the strange things are started, when Sunil finds a mysterious stone near that pond.
What was that mysterious stone?

The Kargil veteran Sunil, set out for a holiday with his family to Sri Lanka. Little did he know that the mighty Ravana (the demon king and main antagonist of Indian epic Ramayana) is waiting for him to assign a new task filled with mystery and adventure.
Upon seeing the book trailer, I expected a mythological retelling, full of actions and war. But the book turned out to be a contemporary science fiction with a blend of mythology.
The book completely explores Sri Lanka, especially the historical places, hence assuring the readers a free virtual tour. Also I loved the way how Ravana is portrayed (I always love to see the other face of the villains).
There are instances where the book resembled me of my Physics and Chemistry textbooks, but not much. There are actions, adventures and twists, enough of satisfying the readers. It also has a shade of love and infatuation.
Though the story was completely different from what I have expected, it was still a good one to keep me engaged throughout the read.

One of the most amazing reads of 2021. A edge of seat thriller that will keep you hooked from the word go.
An Indian family is on a holiday in Sri Lanka. Strange things begin to happen to Sunil, resulting in an unprecedented adventure, even for a Kargil veteran. This delightful mixture of mythology, supernatural and science fiction takes the reader through the subculture of mysticism in Sri Lanka with a contemporary twist.
We also get to see theme of love through the story. But it's more about the mystery of history. The author literally takes us on an adventure through the story.
But my compliments for a very lucid writing. It's a good one time read.Author has beautifully penned down the story avoiding the chaos for the readers. It has an engrossing storyline which intrigues the readers to stick to the last.
The title of the book is felicitous justifying the story. It has been written in simple and lucid language style which make it more easier to understand and go through.

Lanka holds a special place in most of India's heart, it doesn't matter which era we might have been born, we all have heard numerous stories from the Ramayana. There are several movie depictions as well. Hence from small children to old people everyone is well aware of the story. So when ab author tries to tweak that story and present it in a completely different way, things can go south. But kudos to the author for writing a brilliantl story which is full of mythical interpretations and adventures.
As readers, you actually go on a journey to Sri Lanka along with the protagonist Sunil, who is a war veteran. That happens only because of beautiful descriptions of different sites.
The pace of the story is quite good as you don't have to wait for the adventures to begin, it begins pretty much instantly. And again, descriptions make it even more exciting to read.
Overall, this is a great read. For me it's a 5 star read for sure.

Riding with Ravana is a good retrograde sci-fi, this genre really seems fascinating. You can read very less story based on this genre and this one is truly amazing.
The technology of past explored very well and nicely used to craft the story.
Sunil with his family went on tour of Sri Lanka , where due to some incidents the mighty king awake again.
Now Sunil has to do something to make the things normal.
In Sci-fi our protagonist used to fight with the advanced civilization of future but here the protagonist of this story is set to fight with the advanced civilization of past and that's what the retrograde sci-fi.
Well it's a nail biting story and truly delightful.

Fasten your seat belt and enjoy Riding with Ravan by @ezhuthaani11 by far it is one of the reads I enjoyed lately in fiction and the best part is that it is infused with mythology. This genre is my favourite so you can take my review with a pinch of salt. The author has narrated the story in a very lucid manner and every incident keeps you on the toes. This fictional novel takes you many a time back in the times of Ravan. The protagonist Sunil is on a vacation with his family in Sri Lanka where strange things begin to happen with him and the story progresses thereafter. The author has described every incident so well that u feel you are transported to that place in that time also it will make you like Ravan too and at the end, the book will leave you with a smile 😊

It is a science fiction story which takes us takes us into the future, Riding with Ravan takes us back in time. When I saw the title and the cover, the first thing that came in my mind was that it would be a mythological read and some what not so interesting. But as it is said that don't just judge anyone by what you see, we don't know what is there inside everyone.
The story is about an Indian family who go for a trip to Sri Lanka , where things take a twist in their journey and unexpected events happens. The story is about the family's journey with Ravana.
They feel guided by the Ravana. Many chapters are yet to be unfold. To know more about the journey you need to read this and explore the interesting and adventures given in the book.
