This was the first translation of the I ching i ever got a hold of, and I would really recommend it to beginners. It is easy to understand, and very...uplifting. Perhaps some would say it leans towards the new age side or something, or maybe new age is not the right word, but that it is very self help orientated, and caters to modern western idealism. It is definitely gender neutral and i would think most would view it as politically correct in comparison to a lot of other translations, but I think it is a good translation in this sense. It will definitely turn you on to the I ching in my experience, and lead you to seek out other perhaps more in depth translations. Plus its extremely compact size makes it great to take wherever you want.
