Lasairiona McMaster writes sassy, classy and badassy women and strong, yet vulnerable men.

She challenges reader’s expectations by openly dealing with mental health issues, often exploring tough-to-handle topics and ‘taboos’ and books with a whole lotta heart.

She can either be found enjoying a gin and lemonade by the Irish sea, or baking sweet treats in her kitchen while singing at the top of her lungs.

When she’s ‘home’ in Texas, and isn’t eating fresh-popped popcorn while buying things she has absolutely no need for in Target, she can be found at Chuys eating her body weight in chips and queso and washing it down with a margarita swirl.

Every single time I ARC read one of these books I think “it can be better than the last one,” and it is!

Personally to me nothing beats a Brothers best friend trope, and this book delivered on it. This is a funny, woman power, SPICY read that’s the perfect addition to an already amazing series.

I love Finn and Molly mostly because they’re unapologetically themselves, and completely secure in who they are. They’re the type of friends you want irl, and this book made me feel like they are exactly that, my friends.

While being amazing and completely captivating this book does cover harder topics such as abuse (physical and substance), and cancer.

I seriously just want to be the badass that Molly is in every aspect.

These books will always hold a special part in my heart. I love how the characters are all interconnected. So I was completely thrilled when I got an ARC for book 3
This book follows funny, hilarious, and badass Molly and her brothers best friend Finn. These books are way spicy 🌶 and it only gets better throughout the story. I will always be a sucker for brothers best friend and hockey romance books especially these. They do deal with loss and cancer as well.
I highly suggest diving into these books if you want a hilarious ride of a book along with badass romance and and literally romance that will leave you breathless. And the spice is immaculate lol.

“he could get lost in her. she was his light house in a raging sea, his rock, the north lijnt kn a compass when he was lost, and she had no idea how much she rlly meant to him”

Thank you so much to the author for seining me this ARC !!

I’m such a sucker for brother’s best friend, & I already loved both Molly & Finn in the previous books so I had high expectations & this did not disappoint!

I loved the past chapters so much, I loved the angst and the tension that was built up between the two, and I love how all the guys came to defend Molly (as they should) when misogyny came to play.

This was a quick and cute read and i’m loving the snow pirates world but is there any way we could get a Johnny, Austin or Sébastien book ???????

Two for Roughing (ARC review)

First of all I’d like to thank the author for sending me an ARC of this great book in exchange for an honest review. This book is part of the Snow Pirates Hockey series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

So here we go: I loved it. If you enjoy sports romance, friends to lovers, or brother’s best friend romances, you should absolutely read this book. It’s a super fun, sweet, sexy (and spicy) brother’s best friend romance, with way more depth than I expected. This book was a delightful surprise for me, given that I hadn’t read any of this author’s books before.

I loved both Finn and Molly as characters in their own rights, and loved that this was written as a dual POV so that we got both their perspectives and emotions. It made for some great mutual pining for our hero and heroine. I adored Molly and Finn’s relationship. They always looked out for one another and had one another’s backs, before and after they got together. Their communication was also just *chef’s kiss*- no misunderstandings or hiding things from one another. Seeing a heroine as tough, confident, and unapologetic as Molly, and a hero as emotional, sensitive, and caring as Finn was awesome and refreshing. Finnegan Aiden O’Brien has landed himself a solid spot on my book boyfriends list.

The relationships throughout the whole book were amazing, from the friendships to the family ties. And I won’t lie, I nearly straight up applauded every time the other guys on the hockey team stood up for Molly and called will on his patriarchal bullshit. Finn’s relationship with the Morrison family was just the sweetest thing too.

The writing was fast-paced, better and more engaging than I expected, and it was filled with genuine emotion and humour. I loved all the pop culture references scattered throughout. The way the characters’ inner monologues were written made them feel so human and relatable. I enjoyed it so much, I went and downloaded the previous two books in this series to read immediately.

5 star Review Two For Roughing (Snow Pirates #3) by Lasairiona McMaster

I am really enjoying this series. This time it is Finn O’Brien and Molly Morrison turn to shine. Having met and really liked both characters in previous books, I was excited to see what Ms. McMaster had in story for this couple. It’s a simple rule: don’t bang your teammates’ siblings.

I really enjoyed Two For Roughing and I was riveted to their story from the first to the last chapter. Already liking both Finn and Molly it was entertaining to watch their relationship finally develop. The chemistry sizzled between these two and their banter was witty.

Now that the lines have been crossed, will Finn be able to keep his best friend as well as the woman who he has loved for years, or will he have to choose?

There were moments where I laughed out loud and also teared up. Two For Roughing is a story of romance, love and patience, of finally committing to the one you have had feelings for and I loved them as a couple.

Ms. McMaster’s wove a story that will draw you in and keep you reading well into the night. It was also great to see familiar faces make an appearance as it added to my enjoyment of the story.

I loved Molly. Molly is now an extension of me because I relate to her personality so much. I saw things I’d do and say with Molly and I just couldn’t help but laugh. Finn. What I can say. I love jocks. Finn was everything and more. From how he was described before and then reading his story was just *chefs kiss*. The plot was great. I wish more of the dialogue in texts was spoken face to face instead but I loved it anyway.

Something I want to shine a light on is Molly’s sexuality and how Finn handled it perfectly. Molly is free spirited and uncontrollable and when Finn told her that all she had to do was ask and they would talk about it and figure out how to make it happen… I think my scream was heard in Mars. I love how it was included in the book. I feel like so many people would be like “nO, ChEaTInG!” But I feel like it just freedom and understanding what your partner wants and needs.

Why did we wait so long to find out what happened to Liam???

Cleo is a mood.

****also! I’ve seen the confetti poppers in TikTok and that’s hilarious!

This book seriously punched me in the gut. The feels bled through on every page. I would be crying one minute then Molly would say something crazy and I’d be cackling with laughter. I knew Molly and Finn wouldn’t exactly have it easy, but this was everything you could want for their story and more. Las took me on a roller coaster ride I didn’t really want to get off of. Her characters are so unique and full of life. They don’t conform to typical roles or stereotypes and it’s what I love most about her books. This was just perfection. The humor. The Witt. The heat. So amazing.

Omg I have been waiting for this since reading two for holding and it did not disappoint!!!

It had everything - forbidden friends to lovers, sport, close friendships, lost (ish) family and mental health internal conflict. This story shows us that we don’t need to hide behind the ‘norm’ when it comes to exploring sexuality and it is totally acceptable to be experimental. Molly and Finn’s story has to be the best so far. 1 million percent recommend not only this book, but the whole snow pirates series.

Molly was the forbidden fruit, the one Finn wanted a bite of amongst a list of other things of course.
Could he really hold back from taking a taste?
Once again, another book full of characters with depth that caused a fire in my soul. Finn's background was full of pain and the one person who could soothe that was Molly, his best friends sister.

I’ve been waiting for Molly and Finn’s book since I read Two for Interference. I mean, we get friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, and forbidden romance all in one book. What’s not to love?

From the beginning, Molly has been one of my favorite characters. She’s feisty, sassy, confident in her body and sexuality, and she goes after what she wants (well, with the exception of Finn). The only problem is that she let one asshat from high school cause her to be scared of commitment, and that broke my heart. Enter one Finn O’Brien, who we get to know so much better in this book. Learning about what Finn went through in his past, from losing his bother to problems with his family had me wanting to just pull him in for a hug and never let go. Finn is loyal, sweet, and thoughtful, and oh boy is he good at the dirty talk!

One of the things that I love about friends to lovers is that the characters already know each other so well. They get to skip over all of that awkwardness that can come with the beginning of a relationship. And I loved how McMaster showed that in this book. Molly knew when Finn needed cheering up and knew exactly what to do to make that happen. Not to mention the fact that Finn knows Molly so well that he knew when something was wrong and just how to get Molly to spill what the problem was. Also, Finn knowing just what Molly needed to hear to ease her fear of commitment, made me love him even more.

It’s no surprise that Molly and Finn were not going to have an easy time of the whole thing. They spent five years being in love with each other but not being able to do anything about it because of Will. That was bound to cause some insecurities that one or the other had built it up too much. Not to mention the fear of everything going all to hell and losing someone important to you and those are definitely fears that Molly has. But I have to give it Finn, once he made that decision there was no going back for him and he was never going to let Molly go, which is just so damn hot.

I’m not sure how McMaster does it but she seems to be able to make me love each new couple more than the last. So while Molly and Finn are my current favorite couple, I fully expect that to change with the next book.

Are you looking for a fantastic hockey romance with a feisty female main character and a hot dirty talking male characters? Well, add in some angst, some heartfelt moments, and some absolute laugh out loud moments and you have Two for Roughing. Give it a read and become addicted to McMaster’s writing, just like me.

I have been waiting for Molly and Finn’s friends to lovers, forbidden romance since book 1 of Lasairiona’s Snow Pirates series. I just knew, their story was going to work me over emotionally, and was therefore prepared for their oftentimes heart wrenching love story.

Two For Roughing is at heart, a hockey romance, but in reality, so much more than that. You never truly know a person until you spend time inside their head. And once I got a glimpse inside both Finn and Molly’s beautiful minds, I was all in. I loved the fact that they both fell in love at first sight. Obviously, it took years of water under the bridge, before they got together, but without that time, I don’t think they would have worked.

Finn and Molly’s love for each other was inspiring. She understood him on all levels and he accepted her and most importantly respected, everything about her.

Two For Roughing is a sexy and sweet, must read romance. I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Where do I even begin?!?!?! I could NOT put this book down. This book gave me all the feels. I absolutely loved Molly and Finn's story. Their friendship and connection was so strong right from the start, you just knew it was going to get hot as hell, and as usual, Las did not disappoint! 🔥🔥🔥

Las does an absolutely phenomenal job making you feel like you're right with all of the characters along their journey. You feel invested in their lives and can't help but feel everything they are going through.

I LOVED this book and would give it a lot more than 5 ⭐'s if possible. You really need to read this book! Two for Roughing has just taken top spot for my favorite of Las's books.

Ahhhhh!!! She done it again! I LOVE this series and get so excited when a new one comes out! Finn and Molly are adorable. Getting to see beyond his playboy ways and seeing Molly confront her “feelings” was great. I’m definitely going to be adding a wallow board for bad times and need to try a Whiskey Mule.

This series has been absolutely great. I’ve loved every one of the stories but this one got to my emotions pretty good. The forbidden love, two people fighting to stay away from each other because one person requested it. A type of story told many times but this one was written extremely well. The characters were given so much depth and you feel for them. I struggled with her choices for a minute in the beginning but as the story unfolded I was reminded I had no right to judge her actions and was proud of her for being herself. I was so glad he loved her for who she was and even embraced her and stood up for her before even giving into his feelings for her. I absolutely recommend this book and am looking forward to the next 3 stories in this series and to see all of these couples again in the stories!!

The Snow Pirates series may contain my favorite books by Lasairiona McMaster, and that’s saying something for me because I have been obsessed with every book I’ve read by her so far. And I’ll go as far as saying, Two For Roughing might be my favorite so far. It’s hard for me to commit to favorites, but this was just so dang good, I can’t contain myself!!!!!

Per usual, Lasairiona McMaster takes us on an emotional rollercoaster. I rarely cry while reading, but this one got me. But never fear, because there’s a wonderful mix of feels and humor, so it was never very long until I’d be laughing.

Molly and Finn are in a tough situation and it is so easy to fall in love with these characters. Lasairiona McMaster never fails tocl create real characters. Characters I feel like I know in real life. And it never takes me long to get to know them because they are so well written.

I highly recommend this book and this series…and everything else this author as written.

I have been waiting for this story! I do love a good siblings best friend/best friends sibling trope 😊. I love Molly. Her character is refreshing, a breath of fresh air. Her wit and humour is spot on.

Finn. Where do I start with Finn? He is such a big soft teddy bear with Molly. What I loved most was he knew, or both him and Molly knew, how to communicate to each other (once they'd got together) about their wants and desires. Finn knew Molly's wants and desires and helped to make them happen and vice versa. That extra epilogue at the end 🥵🥵 Communication and trust make all the difference and you get that in abundance with these characters. Las also loves to talk about other important subjects in her books like mental health and grown men can cry, its nothing to be ashamed of. She does all this brilliantly with her writing ❤️

There is plenty of humour and LOL moments in this book and you definitely go on a journey for Finn and Molly to get their HEA but it is so worth it. Another great edition to the Snow Pirates series ❤️

Two for Roughing is the third book in the Snow Pirates series, it could be read as a standalone, but I tell you you'll miss two good stories.

In this story we follow Molly and Finn, they are friends for years now and even if they feel something more than friendship for each other they are scared to confess their feelings to not lose Will, Molly's blood related brother and Finn's best friend and teammate.

I adored to finally know Molly and Finn in depth, their relationship is special, they grew up together looking after each other, and even when they try to stay apart you can feel their love and their need to be in each other lives.

Lasairiona E. McMaster wrote once again a very good story. She writes about deeper topics but she manages to keep a nice flow. Funny and sad moments follow one another bringing the reader on a roller coaster of feelings, but she gives the reader enough time to empathize with the characters.

I hope Will gets his own book and he makes up for his behaviour towards his sister.

This. Book. Is. Amazeballs! I loved it SOOOO ridiculously much! As book three of the Snow Pirates, it has been wildly anticipated, and it did not let me down! I felt all the feels with this one, every single feeling. Also I KNEW these two were going to kill me! I knew it! I knew I was going to cry ugly tears & I knew I was going to rage at the patriarchy & I knew I was going to love seeing Molly & Cleo’s relationship continue to grow as cleo came out of her shell.... but hot dang, Lasairiona blew every single one of my expectations out of the water with an old faithful geyser style wave & launched them into the freaking galaxy! Molly and Finn are going to steal your heart, and never give it back. You'll have to build your own wallow board because you'll never be the same! Go read this book y'all! Now!

Two for Roughing by Lasairiona E. McMaster is the third book in the Snow Pirates series (A standalone series) and it follows Molly who has been in love with her brother's best friend-Finn- since they meet in high school and Finn feels the same way about her. So what's keeping them apart you ask well Molly's brother and Finn's best friends Will of course. Will has forbidden any of the guys on his hockey team to even look at Molly so when their love for each other becomes too hard to resist, Molly and Finn enter into a secret relationship.

This book is a really hard book for me to rate because I absolutely loved almost everything in this book but there’s one thing holding me back from giving it a full four stars and that is the pacing. For some reason it took me forever to get through this book (granted I got strep throat a week or two ago and wasn’t reading that much) I can normally read a book like this in 2-3 days but for some reason, this book took me 20 days to read. I just never really felt a need to continue reading, there wasn't a moment where it was hard to put the book down and I never really felt an urgency to pick it back up again.
I feel as though another reason I struggled with getting through this book was that it's more of a slow-burn romance which honestly isn't my favorite. I just have a really short attention span (thank you ADHD) and one way that is for sure to get my attention and keep it is a steamy romance and I find it hard to stay engaged with a book when those elements don’t really come in until later in the book.

That being said, I absolutely adored everything else in this book. I had already grown to love Molly from when we saw her in the previous books in this series and this book just made me love her more! I love how much of strong independent character she is and how she isn’t afraid of her sexuality and expressing it. This book has such a powerful message about ‘her body, her choice’ and how a woman shouldn’t be afraid to love sex and shouldn't be shamed for loving it and having an active sex life. I also loved how Molly being bisexual wasn’t made to be a big deal, a lot of authors feel the need to shove that they have LGBTQIA+ representation in their novels, they like to be like “Hey look I have a bisexual character! I support the LGBTQIA+! **I’M AN ALLY!!”.** That wasn’t a problem in this book, Molly’s sexuality was talked about but wasn’t shoved in your face every five pages. As a bisexual person (technically, I’m pansexual but you know..) I really appreciated that subtle representation.

Next, let's talk about Finn. Finn has to be one of my favorite male characters from Lasairiona books. I loved how much of a gentleman and romantic he is, I loved how he respected Molly and was always encouraging her to be 100% herself. I also loved how he understood that he might not always be able to give Molly what she needed in bed and that she might need to do some... spicy stuff with other people. He was also so supportive of her sexuality and her being able to express it. I also loved how he didn't let anybody talk shit about her and was always standing up for her even against her brother who is his best friend.
Finn’s backstory broke my heart and I really loved the little side story we get of him and his mother. I loved watching their relationship mend and grow, It showed that if you reach out and actually try to mend something you broke, forgiveness might not be impossible as long as you try.
I absolutely adored the relationship between Finn and Molly’s parents. It really showed that family isn’t just blood, it’s the people who care for you like you are blood. I loved that moment where Mr. Mo told Finn that no matter what they will always see him as a son and he will always have a home with them. It just really warmed my heart to see two people offer a home to someone who didn’t really have one and love and protect him like he was their own.

“Don’t dare talk to me about your deepest darkest fantasies, Molly Morison. Not unless you want me to make them come true. Because I will.”
Like I said earlier I liked how much of a gentlemen Finn is but I also loved the very dirty side of him. Lasairiona was not kidding when she said Finn was a very dirty man and I loved every minute of it.

Honestly, I think this book had some of the best sex scenes I’ve read from Lasairiona and I absolutely devoured them. I honestly wish there was more of them, I was actually kinda shocked by the fact that there wasn’t a ton of sex scenes in this book because from what I knew about Molly and Finn from the last two books I had expected there to be a ton more sex scenes but I liked that about it because it showed not only to the readers but to Will that their relationship wasn’t just about sex and that they really did love each other and was in it for the long hall.

Speaking about Will, let’s talk about him... I liked that he went against what captains of a hockey team are normally depicted like in other hockey romances. Will is nerdy, isn’t smooth-talking, struggles talking to girls, doesn’t have a lot of friends, and isn’t a very tough person which you normally don’t see that in character in hockey romances especially when it comes to captains so at first I really like Will (I still do like him) but then I started to dislike him the farther I got into the book. I honestly understand where he was coming from with the whole Molly and Finn thing, When two people who are really important to you start dating it can be scary because if the relationship doesn’t work out you might have to choose between two people you care about dearly but it’s also very clear that he went about it in a TOTALLY wrong way. Though I REALLY disliked Will at that moment, I do like that he realized that what he said to Molly wasn’t okay and had apologized to her and even had a mature conversation about why he felt the way he did. That being said I do really wish we had an actual conversation between Will and Finn after he apologized to Molly, a moment where Finn could tell Will how much he cares about Molly and that he isn’t going to do anything to hurt her and Will could tell Finn his fears and have Finn be like “I’m not going anywhere”, I think that really would have strengthened their relationship. Even though Will definitely got on my nerves, I’m still really excited to get his book because I know Lasairiona is definitely going to make me love him.

Lastly, let’s talk about the writing. One thing I have loved about reading this series is seeing the growth in the writing, its amazing to see the writing just get better and better with each book and it really proves that saying “practice makes perfect”. Lasairiona is a really big inspiration to me because she proves to me that with practice one day I too can become a published author and put out great works of writing someday.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what Lasairiona does with the rest of this series and in her writing career.

Two for Roughing (Snow Pirates #3) by Lasairiona McMaster is a new adult, brother’s-best-friend/best-friend’s-sister, friends-to-lovers, sports romantic comedy told in third person, dual POV. Although it’s the third book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. The story follows the relationship that develops between college hockey player Finn and his best friend’s sister, Molly.

I loved Finn and Molly’s story! Sports romance is one of my favorite subgenres and friends-to-lovers and brother’s-best-friend are two of my favorite tropes, so this book had ALL the goods. I was looking forward to Molly and Finn’s story after meeting and liking them in the previous books, and Two for Roughing did not disappoint. It was funny, sweet, angsty, and steamy. It also touched on some sensitive topics without feeling heavy or weighed down. The story had snappy humor, sizzling heat, and a sweet happy ending. The Snow Pirates is such a fun series, and each book is equally good. I can’t wait to read what comes next!

You'd think I'd get tired of saying it, but... she's done it again! She's managed to write another great book, one you cannot put down, don't want to put down, because, under cover of lightness and romance, it makes you feel better about yourself.
Once again, Lasairiona McMaster has managed to write a book about things I needed to read just when I needed to read them. How she does it, I don't know, it must be her magical super-power to know just what her fans need.
These two young people, this book, show us what a real supportive relationship is, and what it means to be a family, what friendship really is, and whom your first and foremost duty is to. All laced within pages of laughter, sexual innuendo, steamy times, and much colder ones spent on arena benches watching a puck being passed along the ice.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys hockey romance, of course, but even if you're not particularly into this sport, this book is more than worth a read!

I absolutely loved this brother’s best friend romance. It is a feel good love story with a difference. There were times when I laughed, times I cried, and times I swooned all the swoons. This book hit all the emotional marks for me, have a tissue ready as there may be a couple tears. Molly & Finn are perfect for each other!! Day drinking at Applebees & smores…🔥😂🔥😂🔥. You need to read this book. That’s all i’m saying about that!! I didn’t want this book to end because I wasn't done hanging out with these characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I’ve been waiting on these two’s books since the very first one! Brother’s bff, forbidden with all the potential for an angst-filled read. Well, let me tell you… it did not disappoint one bit when it came to that!

It was angst galore and I was living for it! Although it was one of those frustrating reads that make you scream and shake your kindle sometimes. We get some past chapters, and I really appreciated that. It was sweet to see them meet and see their friendship/ longing grow through the years. What they shared was so special and beautiful. I loved their connection so much and how despite how they hurt each other (unknowingly) by being with other people while pinning for each other, they were still there through it all for each other. It was amazing.

It was a bit of slow burn too, at least it felt like it because of the chapters set in the past and how long it finally took them to give in to each other. But the wait was worth it. Once they gave in, it was even more amazing. I absolutely loved them together and how Fitz was just part of the family whether he was with Molly or not.

Ahhh just go meet them. Better yet, go meet the whole group and pick up Two For Interfering. If you’re fan of Elle Kennedy or Maya Hughes, you’re bond to enjoy this series!
