The Watcher has released the Guardians, and now extinction is coming. Perry scrambles to unite humanity against the threat, but in the chaos of imminent doom, everyone is at each other's throats. As alliances fracture and friendships strain to the breaking point, Perry must find the final clues to the truth that lurks in the myths and unlock the true meaning of Confluence.
D.J. Molles became a New York Times and USA today bestselling author while working full time as a police officer. He's since traded his badge for a keyboard to produce over 20 titles. When he's not writing, he's taking steps to make his North Carolina property self-sustainable, and training to be at least half as hard to kill as Lee Harden (his most popular protagonist).
Molles also enjoys playing his guitar and drums, drawing, cooking, and “shredding that green pow” on his Onewheel.
Most nights you can find him sitting on the couch surrounded by his dogs and family, trying to stream an hour of Netflix with his really sketchy satellite internet connection.

Sigh... it's no secret how much I love Molles' books, but this one just didn't live up to the others which makes me sad that I couldn't give it four stars.😕 I so loved book 2, definitely my favorite for sure, but this one, in the end, just got a bit confusing and... oh I don't know what word I want to use... I'm bummed, that's all.
This series started a bit on the crude side, but was less so as it progressed. Some things were unexplained, perhaps due to holes, but the great storytelling kept me engaged. I loved much of the monologue, particularly the reflection of free will. I disliked the evolution talk, but could see it better described as progression. I'm also not a big fan of the whole robots-can-be-human pitch, or the hint of nihilism at the end. Overall, though, some deep reflection, good action, and just good storytelling. As I said in my review of the first book, this reminds me of something that would fit into Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere universe.
To be clear, "Confluence" is Book 3 of the "God Breaker" series. The first two books were "Breaking Gods" and "The Nine".
D.J. Molles produced a fine sequel and final volume for his "God Breaker" series. I always enjoy his work. It's well-written, action-packed and thoroughly engaging. I seldom give 4 stars but this epic is rather extraordinary.
I was a bit disappointed by the ending. While I won't go into detail and spoil it for others, I will say there are a number of questions that remained unanswered in my mind - and, unfortunately, a sequel to answer those questions seems unlikely.
Regardless, if you're looking for a rollicking dystopian saga (never thought I would use those two terms together) with memorable characters - go with this one.
The Nine Sons of Primus are free and they are pissed!

PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
Seriously! If you haven't read the first books in this series then you have missed the opportunity to meet these amazing characters and learn the stories of their many adventures as they learn the truth of their existence. Go back and read them! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!
SPOILERS A Oh you get the idea. You're here now so I assume you know about Perry leading the gang to the resting place of the Nine, the Sons of Primus, imprisoned for destroying Earth five hundred years ago. Perry got them in and they accidentally freed the Nine! So now we have Guardians raining down to Earth and destroying everything and everyone. Huge copper colored balls that opened up and became huge robots bristling with weapons, exploding, beaming, slashing, shooting, stabbing or just stomping on everything they saw.
The awesome climax to the Godbreaker series takes Perry, Stuber, Teran, Sagum and Whimsby on an adventure for the ages. I'm not going to spoil it for you, just let you know that this book will cost you sleepless nights! It is a great read!
I resisted this series until last, and found that I loved it.
500 years in the future and people are struggling to survive under the yoke of an Ancient Alien problem. I’m not an avid reader of science fiction anymore so I resisted reading this series, until I had no other DJ Molle books left to read. Once I settled down to reading it I slowly fell in love with the characters, and with the world that Mr. Molle created. Now I’m looking forward to any other offerings that DJ Molle might give us from this world of Gods, Demi-Gods and lowly peon humans.
Gritty, raw, human story of the hero with a thousand faces
Excellent Science Fiction. The world building and lie is great and while not as in depth as Tolkien or Sanderson, just as immersive and interesting. The motley crew of main characters are all flawed, layered, and deeply human with excellent growth arcs throughout. One of this author's best works by far and a new treasured series in my collection.
This is the first book I've read from DJ that he completely wraps up his story and ends it. This is the third part of a three book series. Typical DJ, the characters do not live happily ever after they do have interesting stories though. This is an action packed thriller of fighting against impossible odds and winning but it takes all you got. Great series and fitting ending to a great book. Well Done!
Complex and intriguing, the story takes a while to develop a flow. But, once established the storyline moves through a series of twists and turns to a solid conclusion. As always, the quality of the writing is excellent with an abundance of interesting characters and plenty of action.
I rarely write reviews but this series deserves one. The overall story was great. A different look at the post apocalypse genre. But the reason I decided to write a review was for the ending. It surprised me in a good way. It showed that an ending doesn't have to be "happily ever after" to be satisfying.
I appreciated the twist at the end, as it was really feeling like a predictable ending. There was seemingly much more crammed into this book than the previous two. I felt some pieces were rushed, others forgotten, but the main story was there and I’d be curious to get more background on some of the new elements and characters this book introduced.
I love DJ’s books. The Remaining series is one of my favorites! I always buy the book and audio because Christian Rummel and DJ Molles go together like PB and J! 🙏🏼♥️
Definitely different, but throughly enjoyed. This is my favorite of the three. I laughed and cried. Also, reading/hearing my deceased mother’s name, Neva, over and over was quite lovely too.

The story is engaging and well written. My attention was fully captured from the beginning of book 1 to the end of book 3. I truly enjoy delving into the worlds created by DJ Molles. Fantastic.
I have this five stars because it is fucking fantastic. I was excited when it came out, I was excited to read it, and I loved it the entire time. This is a well written and thoughtful series, and a great book. Read it.
The ending is really just the beginning. Isn't it?
This book is the final journey of a team of friends trying to change the world. They go through struggles, and challenges that test their friendship. They persevere.
A fantastic fantasy story of humans versus super-humans who can fly without a motor and shoot fire from a stick. Super-humans pretending their gods. Proclaiming life or death sentences on poor normal humans and humanity struggles to be free.
Anywhere. Everywhere, underwear. A very good read.
Well developed story line. The story teller built his characters so in-depth you wanted continue exploring with them. First read from this author. I will read more of his works.
I’m so glad I found this author and very much enjoyed this 3-book series - just as I’ve enjoyed his other books. Highly recommend checking his books and hopefully you’ll enjoy them as much as I did.
I loved seeing a world in chaos because of lies. I'm pretty sure it was this world but far in the future. I especially loved watching the main character evolve as the story went on.
This definitely was an emotional rollercoaster. I could barely put it down. Highly recommend this series, truthfully any book by DJ Milled is excellent!
Regrettably this took me longer to read than originally intended due to house projects and work getting in the way, but having just finished it, I realize how much I love this series and the way it wrapped up. If you haven't read the trilogy yet, you are missing out! This was some of D.J.'s best work.
I do wish I could get advanced copies of these works though, because as a teacher it really bothers me that typos still exist in high numbers despite publishers and editors revising the text, particularly after the halfway point of books. I'd love to catch these and have them corrected to make the grammar of a book like this match it's story-telling flawlessness .
Wonderful story! Love the whole series, I enjoyed reading and watching the characters grow as individuals and then as a family. I really love the ending I thought the author did a wonderful job with the way it ended. Thank you DJ Molles For a wonderful story I will read it again.
