HIS TOY
Heather was in Vegas on the hunt for her sister who only left her the cryptic email message - find me in the afterglow. And although she couldn't find out much information about the place she finds herself outside Club Hades. When she gains access she is in shock. What was her sister doing hanging around a S&M dungeon?
Zaid found a woman in his club looking for her sister. Nothing good would come from her searching for her sister and coming under Eric's radar. And nothing but harm would come her way if she continued questioning the members of his club. Eric and those associated with him had been banned from this club. So he had someone show her to the door.
Tonight ended with the monthly auction where those who wished could auction themselves off for 24 hours to the highest bidder. All proceeds would go to a local abuse shelter as an anonymous donation. The last person up for auction should not be there.
Zaid has plans to exact his revenge against Eric. He warned her to stay away, but she just walked into his hands.
I absolutely loved this book! The storyline kept me captivated from the very start. The suspense of how the revenge would play out. I love all the characters. Heather with her willingness to do anything to protect her sister. Zaid who thinks he's a monster, but in truth does everything in his power to protect Heather and the others.
I highly recommend this book. It is full of action and intrigue, but also sexy in a dominant way. Another great book from Audrey Rush!

Mara was in the doctoral program in college and had chosen Dr. Evans class since he was the only professor not signed for the Crossing Collaboration Contest. A contest she needed to win above all else. She had to prove that despite her younger age she belongs here.
Dr. Nate Evans was known as the billionaire professor and also so disagreeable no one wanted to work with him. But, Mara was determined.
When she found out he was attending a S&M dungeon event she decided shock him by showing up. She not only showed up, but volunteered for his spanking demo.
Nate decided that if she wanted to partner with him for this contest he wasn't going to make it easy for her. He gave her a massive stack of essays to grade and told her she was now his TA, which meant she had to give up one of her other doctural classes. She had to prove she was serious.
Despite him never getting involved with his students, their major age difference and her never being exposed to BDSM Nate was having a hard time resisting Mara. He couldn't lose control again. He had already ruined and almost killed another woman. He refused to do that again and his fear is that he would put Mara in danger.
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline blends well with Zaid and Heather's story and takes off from where Nate was introduced to us in His Toy. I loved Mara's determination in how far she would go to overcome her insecurities that everyone thought she was too young and didn't belong in the doctoral program.
This isn't a book of a much older man using his authority to take advantage of a woman. I love how Nate fought and fought his attraction to Mara and tried to deter and make her hate him at all opportunities.
The characters are full of depth and feelings. And the author's written descriptions have me walking the streets of Las Vegas and sitting through lectures. I highly recommend not only this book and series, but Audrey Rush.

Although she didn't mind being one of his many house slaves because she was into pain. And it was better than the alternative of jail and the consequences of disobedience of Eric's demands could mean death.
Hazel was at an Afterglow party. Weird it was at someone's home instead of the club, but that meant better access to restrooms. The stupid guy had broken her one rule. Not her face. Bruises anywhere else, but not her face. As she was trying to clean herself off the guy had raided her purse and stole the bag of cocaine Eric gave her and instructed her to take it all. When she left the restroom he was dead on the floor - the baggie beside him.
Grant was 6'6" of pure muscle and lead security advisor to Zaid. Per Zaid's instructions Hazel was put into an underground cell along with the other prisoners. Other followers of Eric. When her sister came to Club Hades searching for her missing sister, Zaid had him move her from the cell to a cage in the basement of Zaid's home.
The whole way walking from the cells in the woods to the house she tried to convince him of her innocence. That Dean had stolen the drugs from her purse. Drugs that Eric had intended for her. But, Grant couldn't trust her. All of Eric's followers were liars and killers.
This book was amazing! I really didn't care for Hazel in the first two books because she just came off as a selfish brat who blamed everyone for her problems. It was nice getting to see the true Hazel. I just love Grant. He was trying to do what he thought was best for Hazel.
The characters are wonderful and I love how the whole series storyline wrapped up. The Afterglow series would make an awesome Passionflix series! Highly recommend! Love Audrey Rush!

The Afterglow is a set of three of Audrey Rush’s first books, with each book featuring a different but interconnected couple. The Afterglow is the name of a BDSM club (formerly known as Club Hades) set in Las Vegas. All three books have been impacted by people and events connected to Club Hades/The Afterglow. Some of the timelines also overlap, so to say much about a story will inevitably leave a spoiler for the following stories. His Toy features Zaid, the owner of a security company, and Heather. Heather is on the hunt for her missing sister and will do anything to secure her safety, even putting herself in mortal danger. I loved the way this couple were each so focused on their individual goals and in doing so, found out how similar and suited they are to each other. It’s a dark revenge romance. His Pet features Nate, an associate university professor seeking tenure, and Mara, a new university student. It’s a taboo, age gap romance (+20 years). I think this was my favourite of the bunch, which is funny because my favourite genre is dark romance. There was something about the the pace, the push and pull, the passion for literature and Dominance and submission together which I found compelling. The final book, His Pain, focuses on Grant, Zaid’s former employee, and Hazel. This events in this dark romance are highly related to His Toy, and has one of my favourite tropes, a stalker. I enjoyed the story, which also incorporated the other characters from the first two books.
Things I loved: the author’s writing style. I am familiar with her recent books, so in reading her earlier work, I can see the evolution of her style. Her characters are interesting people, with flaws that don’t need resolution, just acceptance. The stories are different, and don’t feel like the same story being retold. One thing that interrupted my reading flow-there were a couple of continuity errors. One I probably would not have noticed if I hadn’t read the books in the set. The second was minor and didn’t contain a spoiler (whew!). Overall, I really enjoyed the box set and look forward to the author’s new work.

Three compelling books in one! They are related, should be read in order, easy to take a break between them.
I will not go into each plot since they are similar in many ways. Each story involves an older man and a younger woman. Each woman forms a BDSM relationship with their man, but the specifics are different in each case. There are considerable violence and descriptive BDSM sexual content.
All the stories revolve around a sex club called the Afterglow, through which all three men are connected. After bad pasts, each becomes transformed by the woman they are with and whom each comes to love. None of these women are easy to love or live with, but all is well in the end.
The feelings are intense. All of these people have had lots of pain and loss in the past. They have pain and hurt with their partners, and it takes them a long time to trust and let go of their preconceived ideas about themselves and others.
These are more like thrillers with sex than hot sex with a storyline. We worry about the characters and their safety, and their poor judgment. We keep telling them to watch out! We cry when they are in the dumps, even though we know it will eventually be okay. It is hard and sad to think about people who have, in some cases, been raised and treated so poorly, actually hated and abused as children. Not all of the characters have these issues, but many do. It is surprising that they turn out as well as they do. Their ways to cope may make us cringe, but it leads to a greater understanding of the plight of others who may look "normal" on the outside but carry all sorts of unknown burdens.
This is good writing and editing--better than usual, but there are still skipped words, bad punctuation, calling a person by the wrong name here and there, poor wording.

This was my first time reading Audrey Rush but I have to say I will certainly be on the lookout for this author. I really enjoyed all 3 books in the series but my favorite was the last one because I loved Hazel.
His Toy- I enjoyed the suspense during the whole book. Heather and Zaid had me on edge the whole time and I loved it. Lots of unexpected and some expected things.
His Pet- Mara and Dr Evans were a good pair up. I loved how he valued her as an equal instead of not taking her seriously. Mara was super interested in the BDSM world and I like the way the story lead me thru her journey. I feel I was least interested in this one because I was anticipating the next book with Hazel (she's my favorite).
His Pain- I couldn't wait to read Hazels story after reading the others. I would've preferred to read her book right after her sister's book but I can see why she was last. Grant has my favorite of all and I'm so happy he and Hazel hookup. I really enjoyed their story. Hazel finding her purpose and no longer feeling like a burden. Grant doing whatever it takes to protect his girl. Hazel was so so naive and I felt myself going through all these emotions as all the drama unfolded.
All books were super steamy and HEA. I would definitely recommend them but definitely read them in order.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "THE AFTERGLOW SERIES" Three awsome dark intense stories that have you glued to your seat each story is an addicting read from beginning to end with suspense, intrigue, angst, surprises, hot steamy scenes, emotional turmoil, danger.
"The Toy" - Zaid owns a security company working at The Afterglow BDSM Club formerly Hades Club when Heather comes in looking for her missing sister Hazel who told her to meet there. Both Zaid & Heather want something so they work together to make that happen he want revenge she wants to help her sister.
"His Pet" - Mara is a 21yrs old working to become a medical student she needs a partner for a contest Dr. Nate Evans only one available he treats her with respect makes her feel valued. Nate & Mara get into a sub/Dom relationship if found out it could ruin everything for them both crossing that line.

Three books, all with the same meeting place and BDSM as a connecting thread, but so different from one another.
What a place the Afterglow sounds like... Great fun to be had by all.
Zaid, Heather, Nate, Mara, Grant and Hazel. I have a hard time picking a favorite since they all call to me on different levels.
All their struggles and insecurities, along with the inability to walk away from their taboo love interests (be it power play or age gap)
The plots are well thought of. They take us through journeys of suffering and self discovery, as well as emotional growth.
I really loved these books.

This is a collection of three full length stories that are interconnected by family, friendship and kink. His Toy reminded me a little of Beauty and the Beast. This collection offers a wide variety of kink, and no two stories are alike, highlighting a few of the different arms of BDSM. A gripping collection which ends with a satisfying conclusion all round, but I found it didn't flow quite as well as the Dahlia District or Adler Brothers collections. This may be because they were written before both of these collections.

This is a three book compilation. What I loved about it is that all three are running simultaneously. The stories aren't linear, so when you read each, it fills in where the others diverge. By the time you finish all three the stories are complete.
In the first book there is a scene that feels like you are walking into the middle of the story, but by the end it all come around. This is a great way to write a series instead of moving forward and never seeing the original characters again.
I highly recommend this book and this writer. Can’t wait for more.

There is one thing that I have found any book by Audrey Rush, they are always exciting and suspenseful, with the right amount of darkness and steamy scenes.
I loved this box set. It contains His Toy, His Pet, and His Pain. Each book is different, but fit together because of the dark content and full of suspense and steamy scenes. I love the characters and the way they interact with one another.

Three fantastic books in one collection. These books are B.D.S.M. and have erotic scenes that are consenting between the chatacters. The scenes are really spicy and intense. These were page turners that i couldn't put down. Each book is about a different man and woman but interconnected with The Afterglow. My favorite was the first one with Heather and Zaid. Highly suggest reading these books in order. They will make your kindle melt.

Great writing it has a smooth flow throughout the pages that kept me entertained throughout the pages. The well developed and engaging characters held my attention. Great boxset.

Wow. This boxset has all three Afterglow books. His toy, His pet, His pain. Each book has their own couples and each one something different is happening but it follows the BDSM theme. These books were each amazing.
