Strutting round in cast-off cycling Lycra, Guzim makes a home intrusion to round up Victor’s chickens. If you’re a fan of Greek travel and culture then the Bucket to Greece series is a must, with a bucketful of laughs along the way.
This is a great fun series about a couple from Manchester, UK, and their move to rural Greece.
At the start of this volume, they're going on a romantic mini-break. We're soon back home in their village, and amongst the locals....and it's just great to be back! I went from chuckling, to laughs galore-then absolutely spluttering with giggles!
Victor's wife Marigold loves moving abroad memoirs. He's writing his own-will his measure up? She has a few hints for him, she loves her exclamation marks. He hates them! Violet is hilarious, a right laugh, so funny.
Laughs, and more laughs. These books never fail to make me smile. You always know you're going to get a good, fun read.
The usual dose of oodles of comedy-and a few troubles at mill this time too-but always uplifting and great fun reads.
Witty recollection of how Greek and British can live in harmony. I lived more than 20 years in Cyprus and ,as a French ,can associate with some of the experiences that occured to Victor and his family. Well written, fast paced books, I read the whole saga and is ready for more.
Now I have read all 11 books and can't wait for another one, hurry up please. I love Greece, it's history, people and scenery. I can loose myself in his stories and adventures. Brilliantly written and if you have read this far you must enjoy Bucket to Greece as much as I do!!
These books are so wonderful and witty that I can never wait for the next one to come out! Book 11 about a couple of ex pats from England who buy in a small village in Greece and become enmeshed in the lives of all the villagers. You will come to love them all!
Continuing series is a humorous experience in Greek history, culture, and life in general. Always something going on. Enjoy the first to the most recent. Who ever VD Bucket really is, I'm hooked on the series.
This series just gets better and better as the characters develop. I live in Greece and Mr Bucket has managed to beautifully capture the essence of what is to live here. Looking forward to volume 11.
As ever - brilliant! Need cheering up - read this book. So well written and hilarious. Every new volume brings me closer to the inhabitants of what must have been a nice quiet village and a family which has brought it to life.
I've read all eleven and #11 is among the best. I hope V.D. writes additional books in the series. Amazon said I need one more word so forgive this extraneous sentance.
This one is the best yet. You couldn't make these characters up! So many entertaining incidences, well told and amusing. I just wish they would lose their obsession with bleach - it's a disaster for the environment. Use vinegar instead. Boiling things also works!
I found your writing fun and informative. I go to Athens often and utilize bits and pieces of your writing to interact with local friends. And your marketing strategy is awesome
I have read all the books so far and yet again this didn't disappoint. Funny, happy characters developing with each new story. Can't wait for the next.
Another wonderful collection of Meli anecdotes.I go to the Greek islands twice a year and can identify with a lot of characters in all the books.Marvellous!
Every book adds another layer to each the personality of each character. They have become a community, interwoven with acceptance, support & love for each other! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
