Riley Edwards writes female characters to whom one can aspire; they’re strong; they’re smart; they’re unbelievably courageous. This book introduces Anaya, who is one such character, and it also revisits so many of her other awesome heroines, as well as Piper, who with Ace (Operation Alpha) helps Anaya to go back to Timor-Leste to rescue some of the girls from the appalling conditions there. The blurb has it all, so I’m not revisiting that, but I have to say more about the way the characters are written. They come alive when you read Riley Edwards’s books; her men are living, breathing people, as are the women in their lives. The pain they feel becomes yours, the jokes make sense to you because they’re in your world too. Kyle is another character that becomes a friend – dreamworthy and not just because he’s hot. And this is special in any book, and it’s something that I look for when I read. This book will leave you wanting – wanting more of the Gold Team, wanting justice for those killed and abused, and wanting to see Omni vanquished once and for all.

4.5 Gold Stars 🌟

Anaya is eager to return to Timor-Lest in her quest to save girls being sold into servitude or being married off at a VERY young age😢 Ace secures her a meeting with Dec and Kyle from the Gold Team and set off on their dangerous mission. However, Omni is closing in and so is intel on Harry - the sex trafficker they are trying to nail.

Lots of action in this story, but also a story of a woman who comes into her own with a man who loves her, deep to his soul😍 Keen to find out more about Max and find some peace for poor Declan❣️

I really hate how vague these books are, like I need their backstories to have more depth. You can’t just say she was kidnapped and not given us all the context… just really annoyed me, I kept waiting to hear more but it didn’t happen

This took me a little bit to get into but once the story started to flow, I was invested. The character interactions and the dialogue was very reminiscent of my favorite author which made me enjoy it even more.

Great characters, suspense filled plot, and the perfect amount of steam. Looking forward to what comes next.

Kyle is the 3rd book from the Gold Team series by author Riley Edwards. If you've read the previous books, our favorites are back and they bring everything you'd expect and then some. I am definitely recommending this book. If this is your first experience with the Gold Team, then you are in for a treat. There's more crazy, bossy, Zane, who happens to be the owner of Z Corp. Max, Brooks, Thad and my favorite Dec who round out the Gold team.

There is so much to be said about this book, it was intoxicating, powerful and emotional. Riley Edwards just have a way with words and character development that leaves you desperate for more. Each character, event and surprise ties-in to the story perfectly. Kyle's book is action packed and the flow of the story will keep you turning page after page.

The men on the Gold team are so much more than teammates, they're a family. They are fun, the back and froth is just like any family. I also enjoyed the women in this book. They are all strong, bold and very supportive of each other. It's always great to read about strong female characters that have friends who understands and accepts them.

The first few chapters provide a background on the characters and the general idea of the story-line. Anaya, enlists the help from a mutual friend to help her find protection. she wants to return to the island Timor-Leste to rescue girls from being sold and forced into prostitution and marriage. Thats where Kyle and one of his teammates, Declan come into the story. They agree to travel with Anaya, to help rescue young girls.

The story is simple, accompany Anaya and rescue the young girls, then return home and carry on as normal. What could possibly go wrong for Kyle? Let's start off with falling for the woman who you should be protecting. The return of a bad guy from the past, that everyone wants dead but he's too slippery to catch. Then there's a few surprises. Que the dramatic music 😂😂😂

The female lead Anaya is quick thinking, smart and brave. Although, she doesn't give herself enough credit for her bravery. One of the things I liked about her was, her passion for helping others. She didn't care the risk, she found her inner strength and pushed through.

Kyle is all about the team and his missions. He's honest, strong, funny and now he he's fond of Susan's Stoker books thanks his long plane ride. Kyle showed so much compassion and patience throughout this book, it made his character that much more lovable.

Both Anaya and Kyle don't see themselves settling down and having families. For Kyle it's his job, that keeps him in danger but also away from home for periods of time. Where as Anaya, between her past and her current job, a future of a family and love was never something she thought about.

The journey of these two take to find their HEA, was written in a way that offers hope to anyone ever doubting their self worth. It takes a special force to knock down walls that have been built up for years. It takes patience to build up someone who doesn't know or feel like they deserve it. Kyle is persistent and relentless in his pursuit to protect but as he falls for Anaya, that just goes deeper.

I can't wait for the next book in this series. I am impatiently waiting to see where the next story will take us!!!!

Kyle is the 3rd book in the Gold Team series.
Awesome read. Love Riley Edwards’ books. She’s the queen of suspense and action romance.
Anaya and Kyle’s story is amazing. As always you get lots of suspense and action and an amazing storyline that had me glued to my Kindle.
Anaya is a strong heroine and brave. Love that she helps young girls victims of sex trafficking and child prostitution.
She hires Kyle for protection because she’s going to the island of Timor-Leste to rescue some young girls there.
Kyle’s attraction to Anaya was instant. Love how protective he was of her. But also he understood she had to be her own person and he helps her become the woman she
The men of Z-Corps Security are amazing. Love them and love how loyal and protective they are of each other.
Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

5 STARS!

'Enjoyed' ( only cos enjoy seems to be a weird word to use in regard to the content!! ) this more on the second read.

Great ensemble cast with Kyle and Anaya in the super trouper with this adventure.

Poor Jeremy...

And what is Declan up to? I was hoping his HEA was going to be seasonal... but is he seeing someone who we already know in a roundabout way... someone who might have lost someone in a previous story? Time will tell...

( And sort of feel the need to re-read 'Defending Allye' again... )

I’m a Riley Edwards fan. Kyle is alpha male from the top of his head to the tips of his toes and everywhere in between and pure protector.

Couldn’t put the book down. Look forward to more in the series.

*sigh* I couldn’t adore this series more

So continued crossover (*girlie squeal*) with Susan Stoker (it’s like meeting your favourite 2 people in the whole wide world…like the best TV series crossover event ever in the world !!!) and this time we head back to Timor Leste after Ace had rescued Piper and his 3 daughters but to the orphanage from hell to get that all straightened out thankfully.

Anaya makes me want to cry, I just want to sob for all that she went through and how that continues to make her feel despite her giving so much of herself to others. She’s so scared to actually love and the moment she realises she has given nothing of herself to anyone, not even the people she would call close friends is heartbreaking.
Kyle…well he has watched his friends fall ass over teakettle for their women and so knows the signs, and yet still let’s Anaya leave. That comes back to bite him hard and so onwards we go.

My favourite parts of this book are when the whole team are living together, the relationships they all have, the women, the brotherhood is all amazingly written.

Declan is falling further and further into himself which is painful to read, his book will no doubt need tissues, and Max….well Max is up next and let’s just see how much trouble mistrusting, doubtful, suspicious Max can do when faced with choices.

Kyle and Anaya

There was nothing about this book I didn’t like. Kyle was the perfect book boyfriend. He was protective without being overbearing. He was extremely understanding and he was the perfect man for Anaya. Anaya was broken in a way that was heartbreaking. She had been through so much in her life and came out strong and independent. She dedicated her life to saving others from the atrocities she faced and she did it mostly alone.

Despite their instant connection, Kyle and Anaya’s relationship moved relatively slowly. Kyle was extremely patient and reassuring with Anaya. He understood her past and her hesitation with physical relationships and that didn’t stop him. Kyle was willing to do anything and everything to save Anaya and he never asked her for more than he was willing to give. I love the progression of their relationship. I loved that Kyle not only gave Anaya a romantic relationship, but brought her into his family. He gave her a family and showed her what it was like to have friends you were comfortable enough to be yourself around.

This book was full of action and suspense. The romance was engaging. The relationship between Anaya and Kyle was heartwarming. I loved the role Kyle’s team played as well as Zane and the members of the Red Team. This will definitely go down as one of my favorite Riley Edwards books.

I don't want to give this a star rating because I feel like that's not fair since I'm probably not the target audience. I only picked up this book because it was called Kyle.

This was a lot. A LOT. Very melodramatic and over-the-top. I don't mind suspending my disbelief for an exciting, suspenseful story, but too many elements of this just didn't stack up. There's a fine line between tropes and cliches, and this writing stepped over it more often than it didn't. Dialogue is unrealistic and cringey. Characterisation was very one-dimensional. Despite being the titular character, Kyle is a cardboard cut-out of a military man. Anaya's characterisation is a little better, but still very one-note. Plotting was fanciful and pacing was all over the place. The story took part in fits and starts with strange diversions to enjoy the happy-clappy family environment of the special forces team/company, which an overemphasis on babies.

Overall, this is not a book that I could take seriously. It probably didn't help that it was littered with typos. In the right mood, someone could enjoy it for the melodrama, but where the book was trying to make me swoon, I got the ick instead.

Kyle: Special Forces Operation Alpha: Gold Team Book 3 is by Riley Edwards. This book tells us the story of Kyle and Anaya.
Anaya Baker was an orphan who was sold into a sex trafficking ring. Fortunately, she was able to get out of the ring and now spent her life trying to help others in any way she can. She has helped steal women and children from the sex trafficers and get them to safety. She has located a brothel in Timor- Leste that is posing as an orphanage. She needs help in securing the release of those being held. She also needs help since it was at Timor-Leste that her friend Kalee almost lost her life and Anaya, Piper, and Evette hid during the massacre. This is not going to stop her from going.
Kyle Smith is asked to help her get into an area run by rebels and save the women being held. He really doesn’t want to go back to Timor-Leste himself; but finds himself agreeing simply because it is the right thing to do and it is his job. Can he control his attraction towards Anaya while they are there?

Anaya has been through hell while working for the peace corps. She was also taken and auctioned off at 13 by sex traffickers. Kyle as part of the Gold team and working wit z corporation has saved many trafficked women. Anaya approaches Zane asking for help to save some children in an orphanage but are really being trafficked. Men in high money positions and control and politics can be the worse and devalue women all the time and abuse then in unthinkable ways. Younger the better. Anaya and kyle bond as he protects her on her mission. She is kidnapped , chained and on the verge of history repeating itself. Kyle and his team manage to find her and he trues to unravel the horror of her fast. Anaya and Emerson go to meet a supposed trafficking victim and all goes FUBAR. So much more action, suspense, fear, going on to put in a review. A must read. Riley has done it again. But what happened to Harry , scum of the earth. What is Declan hiding? Read on. Emerson and Anaya are really badass. You go girls

there was non stop twists and turns in this novel. it dealt with some terrible issues that made you really feel the sorrow and pain. one of the characters in here has the same name as a character in one of susan stokers books and i thought for a time Riley was crossing with yet another character, but it wasn't.
I did know of Piper and Ace though.
lots of angst and the story of the mission is drawing closer so I'm excited to get to the end.
i have to say, the Gold team echoes more like Susan stokers world. the way the plot unfolded, the actions of the alphas on all fronts and the ending. however the Red Team series was gritty and raw, and I felt it was a lot more gutsy. that doesn't mean I didn't like gold team, it's all part of the world that I love to delve into. and both susan and riley are awesome writers.
thanks to maxine mitchell and Lee Samuels for bringing these characters to life. I await Max and especially Declan.

Kyle is another knockout from Riley Edwards—packed with action, loyalty, and the kind of romance that grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go.

Kyle is the kind of hero you root for from page one: protective, skilled, and quietly intense. His connection with the heroine is instant but never rushed—Riley gives us a slow-build that feels both earned and electric. The chemistry? Off the charts. But it’s the emotional depth, the mutual respect, and the way they fight for each other that really makes this story shine.

As always, the brotherhood and team dynamics are top-tier, adding layers of warmth and grit that elevate the entire experience. Whether it’s the mission or the relationship, Kyle delivers tension, payoff, and those perfectly placed moments of vulnerability.

Riley Edwards knows how to write strong women, stronger men, and the kind of love story that makes you wish you were part of the team. Highly recommend for fans of romantic suspense with substance and steam.

"Kyle" is the third book in the Gold Team series and it is full of action, suspense, romance and friends. This is the story of Kyle, a team member of Z Corp and Anaya who needs their help. Anaya works for the Peace Corps and has learned that some young girls are being held in an orphanage in preparation for being sold into a sex trafficking ring. She knows that she cannot let that happen, those kids do not need to endure what she went through when the same thing happened to her.
I did not want to put this book down, it held my interest from the very first page. Riley Edwards has a way of bringing her characters to life and the reader cannot help but fall in love with them, feel their pain and their happiness. If you love romantic suspense with protective heroes and strong heroines do yourself a favor and try this series out, I think you will be glad you did!!

Kyle and Anaya

These stories just keep getting better with each new book in the series. It only takes one look at Anaya for Kyle to understand what his friends and teammates have been trying to tell him. As he hears more about Anaya and what she had been through he gets angrier when he finds out she was trafficked as well. With each new book they are getting closer to some of the major people that are closer to the top players of the Omni group. This one is packed with action, strategy and edge of your seat results to stop it all. As they feel they are getting closer Anaya and Emerson find themselves in trouble. I'm anxious to start the next story as it's promising to be every bit as good if not better.

Kyle and Anaya

Edwards does it again with an emotional rollercoaster of a story that gave me all the feels. This story was intense and filled with angst. Absolutely loved both main characters.
I was beyond surprised with Edwards mentions a Missile silo in Lewis, NY because I lived in Lewis once upon a time and visited that silo. So the entire scene I could picture the steel garage and the dirt road leading up to the silo. I wonder if she visited that silo or just did research on it. That one highlight of the story for me.
Loving the Gold team and I can't wait to read Declan's story because I have a feeling his leading lady won't be a shy, timid wallflower. Happy Reading!!

Though Kyle Smith and Declan would rather be with the team awaiting on the order to go after their link to omni, he’s nicely distracted by Introverted Peace Corps worker Anaya Baker on a short assignment to rescue young girls from a trafficking pipeline. There’s interest and sparks on both sides but the two reluctantly park at the end of the task.

But Anaya runs into problems soon after and Kyle wastes no time beating feet back to her side and she follows him home. Surprising herself, Anaya easily settles into the gold team house, making friends with Tatiana and Emerson. Determined to help, Tatiana and Emerson question a suspect and surprisingly land a great catch for the team.

Craziness!!!

Such a great book! Each book gets better. And I love all the cameos from Susan stoker books. We got to see Piper and Ace. I still have to read the red team series and will after finishing the gold because I’m stuck in their story. And essentially will be backtracking but who cares. Loved Kyle. He is amazing and a kick ass book boyfriend. Hot, strong and protective and the most sensitive to her feelings and mental state. Watching him with Anaya was beautiful. Loved how she and Emerson kicked ass. And finally some headway with that jack hole Landry. Can’t wait for Max’s book.

Where there's a will there's a way

Kyle and Anaya's read was jam packed with action and heartache. Riley Edwards writing reminds me of Samantha Christy's where no subject is tabu. The Gold Team series concentrates on what seems to be Human Trafficking and let me tell you it's intense.

Anaya's journey to healing is heartbreaking but that woman is so strong. When she hooks up with Emerson to go on an info finding mission and things go FUBAR those two are unbelievable together. Talk about b@d@$$ OMG it's those two. This is a must read. In fact her entire booklist starting with the Red Team is a must read.

Getting closer

This story tied in to the Stoker world through a specific story (or two) with the orphanages and sex trafficking in another country. Not only do we see Kyle meet his match, but we also got to see all the team members and their spouses as the Omni story took a big turn and we got to learn more about Declan. This story was full of action, suspense and humor. The stark horrors of human trafficking was covered as well as the missions to save others and learn more about people’s pasts. Declan has me all baffled and I can’t wait for more of his story!

Just when you think it can’t get any better…

Kyle and Anaya’s story starts with a bam and their connection is swift and almost too quick. However, their story keeps on building while dealing with prime action and tense moments. It is a fast pace read and by half the book, you are wondering what else could possibly happen. It is a standalone, and it does have a happy ending, but if you want to truly enjoy the numerous twists and plots, read them in order. Definitely worth a reread!

Great!

Ancho's is rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most all of the characters. This was a book all protection, kindness, compassion, and falling in love. Also about believing in yourself. I really enjoyed Kyle and a Anayla story. I think they made a really great couple. I think the author did a great job with the putting these two characters together. This book was well written and the characters were all in sync with each other. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Kyle and Anaya

Heartbreaking yet heartwarming addition to the Gold team series.
Kyle has always said marriage and family weren’t for him.
Anaya was traumatized by being taken at 13 by traffickers. She was in the foster system and her trauma kept her later years in the system extremely difficult.
She managed her get a degree and worked to save children who had been trafficked.
They met when Kyle and Declan were hired to protect her when she went back to rescue some girls in the country she’d been working with. Their attraction helped them build deal with issues and heal.
