Sergeant Shiloh Kent has never quit anything in her life. She’s had to claw her way out of poverty. Fight to inch her way up the professional ladder. But after a barricade situation ends in tragedy, she’s rethinking her position on the SWAT team she fought so hard to join. The ugly seed of self-doubt has planted itself deep in her belly, and with each day, it grows and flourishes. Shiloh’s at a crossroads—faced with a life-changing choice, she has no time for distractions. Meeting Luke Marcou, who is quite possibly the sexiest man she’s ever laid eyes on, couldn’t have happened at a worse time. He’s exactly what she doesn’t need and everything she wants.
Former SEAL Luke Marcou knows a thing or two about life-changing events. Part of a two-man sniper team, his career ended with a bang. Literally—a hail of fire and debris stole his perfect vision, leaving him broken and damaged. After months of feeling sorry for himself and struggling to find his place in the civilian world, he’s made his home at Triple Canopy.
Those who can’t do teach, right? Cue the beautiful Shiloh Kent with her pastel blue eyes and wicked sense of humor. She’s looking to master her long-distance shooting skills—lucky for Shiloh, that’s one of Luke’s many specialties. Neither wants forever, but no one said they couldn’t have a little fun. That is until their hearts get intertwined. And suddenly, tangled morning-after sheets aren’t the only messy thing in their relationship. But forever might not be an option when the tables turn on Shiloh, and she finds herself in the hands of a killer.

One of my pet peeves is when the cover doesn’t match the character description. That happened in TC 2 when Trey’s cover model didn’t have scars. Now, the publisher’s media kit atop the Amazon description features a brunette when the FMC is blonde. Sorry, my OCD had to have that out there in the universe.
Moving on…
The dialogue and banter between Sunny and Luke in the first half is the perfect mix of sex on a stick, chivalry, humor, sexual tension, and snort-worthy dry witty banter. I think this is the best dialogue I’ve read from this author. Once the relationship is cemented, the dialogue dynamic changes. I get why the author toned the FMC down, but I felt like Sunny became a different person, not the best/highest sense/ evolution of the character we were first introduced to. Believable? Yeah. Softened for emotional changes? Yes. Just lost too much spunk. In the end, she’s still a badass, but her voice lost that snark that clearly first attracted the MMC. IMHO.
FMC is SWAT and survives a male-dominated field by staying hyper focused on her career, not personal life. She’s an emotional minefield, and she’s willing to dish hurt to keep from drowning in it. MMC proves he’s a stayer.
MMC isn’t looking to wax poetics or for a morning after type gal… but sometimes what you need finds you - looking or not.
“Okay. Full stop. Now I was poeticizing about the woman and that shit needed to stop. One, because I was a man whose testicles were in good working order therefore I didn’t spout off poetic anything, ever….”
MMC is yet another epitome of gentleman alpha male…
“I’ll remind you, I don’t try to do anything. I assess what I want, plan, and execute. With trying comes a possibility of failure. And I never fail.”
Again, I will say that this author’s wheelhouse is writing amazing characters and relationship dynamics.
They are fuel and matches together…
“You show at my house, Luke, you’ll find me armed and pissed off.” “Baby, now you’re turning me on.”
The danger zone was fit the story and played out well.
I like the intro of the FMC’s bros, and I hope they get their own books.
Bottom line: Another solid read. Story is mildly amusing. Relationship messages that make you think and are moving. Only negative is that I think the FMC looses too much spunk as she de-ices.
Reader advice: TC is interconnected to the author’s other series. To understand side characters, d highly recommend following the author’s reading order, even if each book is technically a SA.
Riley did it again every book I read only gets better her story lines are fantastic and this book is great you won't regret reading it as usual you get drawn in and it's a roller coaster of emotions.

Wow! Every book in this series is better than the one before! Luke and Shiloh have chemistry for days. I love a truly bada$$ heroine and a hero strong enough to let her be a bada$$.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read this book and it gets better every time. It’s no secret that Triple Canopy is one of my favorite series and Imperfect is a great example of why.
Shiloh and Luke’s story is emotional, heartbreaking, hopeful, funny, sweet and oh so sexy. He is a former Navy sniper working for Triple Canopy and she is active duty SWAT. They’re instantly attracted to each other and it doesn’t take long for Luke to be all in, but Shiloh has a lot of stuff to work through. She holds herself back, but Luke slips in past her defenses and it is everything. *The bathtub scene is a particular favorite of mine 😉
There’s a little suspense and so much heart (and all four Kent siblings). I love this book and this series so much.
What a beautiful love story! Shiloh is a strong woman, an only sister with 3 strong brothers, and working in a team of man. She is badass. But she is also lonely. Luke have almost lost his eye, and it rocked his world. As a former Seal, he had to learn to adapt; to forgive himself; and to find new meaning in life. When they meet….oh boy….it is beautiful. It is hot. It is hard. It hurts. But oh so worthy it! Another great story by Ms. Edwards.
How is it possible for an author to write a literary masterpiece time after time? Okay, I may be going a bit overboard with the whole “literary masterpiece” but to me, that’s what Riley Edwards books are. Why do you ask? Because they are so much more than just the words on the page. They evoke emotions, engage your brain and leave you feeling empowered and informed. At least that is what I feel after reading one of her books. And her newest release Imperfect, the third book in her Triple Canopy series, was no different.
Yes, you have your alpha hero who’s sweet and caring yet bossy and of course HOT. Of course, you also have your kick-butt heroine who’s tough and fierce but also smart and funny. There’s drama, angst, and steamy scenes. But there’s oh so much more.
Luke Marcou and Shiloh Kent are real. Yeah I know, they’re characters in a book. How can they be real? It’s their personalities. It’s their fears. It’s their emotions. All things the reader can identify with. Understand. Embrace. It’s following them through the ups and downs of everyday situations and seeing how they come to understand themselves and grow. It’s that background hum of anticipation. It’s a life lesson delivered so flawlessly that the reader has also come to understand and grow by the end of the book.
Now don’t get me wrong. The book isn’t this heavy tomb of emotional angst and enlightenment. Riley Edwards has this uncanny ability to weave all of this into a great story. She intersperses humor and snark. She gives you romance and passion. She gives you the whole package of a great romance novel. And yes, she gives you a life lesson. But with how the words leap off the page and intertwine themselves into your heart and psyche is done so flawlessly, the reader is all the better for reading the book.
Now, this may seem like a biased review. It’s not. It’s the honest truth. Still doubtful? Then do yourself a favor. Pick up a book by Riley Edwards. I can guarantee that after that first one, you’ll pick them all up. And yes, you will be better for having added Ms. Edwards to your must-read author list.
Riley Edwards has done it again, absolutely another great read, could not put it down. Love the story for Luke and Shiloh, it fits them perfectly. There was a lot of action throughout the book. At times it was intense and was afraid to go on. But the love, steaminess, twist and turns of the book was grabbing and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. Loved seeing all the other characters and some new ones too. I'm hoping and crossings my fingers that possibly Shiloh's brothers get their own book??? The story between Shiloh and Luke was great, loved their chemistry and there banter back and forth which made me laugh out loud several times. Shiloh is a strong woman, but has some ghosts she needs to deal with, in comes Luke and helps her through it and they both become stronger in the end. Can't wait to find out about Logan and Lauren!!!

This book is amazing! I don’t know how Riley Edwards keeps putting out better and better books but she does! I know when I open one of her books I’ll get action, suspense, action, laughter, healing, hot steamy scenes and fall in love with another alpha male right along with the lucky female involved. This book features Luke Marcou he has finally gotten his stuff sorted after a career ending injury while deployed. Shiloh “Sunny” Kent is beautiful, hilarious, flirty and a kick ass member of a SWAT team and just to look at her she seems like she has it all together but Luke sees something more. He finds a woman with humongous walls built around her and he’s determined to break through them and have his woman. You really need to dive into this one.
I will never get tired of reading Riley Edwards. All of her books are action-packed and filled with amazing love stories. That trend continues with Imperfect, which is part of the Triple Canopy series.
Luke fights his attraction to Shiloh initially, but realizes very quickly that he can’t stay away. Shiloh is a kick ass SWAT officer that knows loss and refuses to lose anyone else.
Ms Edwards reels you in right from the start and holds your attention throughout. I literally read this in one sitting, which is par for the course when I’m reading this author. On a side note...I really hope we get Shiloh’s brothers stories!!
Shiloh and Luke....he just couldn't help himself. She was funny and badass all rolled into one! Something about Luke drew her in demanded. Demanded devotion, demanded staying power, demanded love. Another great book. Can't wait for Logan.

What can I tell you but to grab this emotional, heart breaking, steamy romance between 2 people that run the gamut of trust issues, walls around hearts, lessons learned and wanting something so bad but knowing it will never work, yet actions speak louder than words and man does Luke show Shiloh he's a stayer and will always have her back. Plus, you can never go wrong with a Riley Edward's romance as she always delivers an awesome, emotional, action packed, steamy delight that is unputdownable.
I think what appealed to me about this one was that Luke saw Shiloh right from the start and knew she would be some work, but that if he did it right he would be rewarded beyond his dreams. Things weren't easy with Shiloh at all, so much of the time it was one step forward, two steps back. Then there were her brothers. I really like how Luke dealt with them, very open, honest and he didn't give a crap what they thought to a point, he was there for Shiloh, 100%.
I really liked Shiloh seeing that she didn't have to be Killer Frost, that if she let herself, her life could be filled with friends, both her work teammates and others. The chat with Liberty was so revealing, it was like a light bulb going off over her head. The more that Shiloh realized these things, the more that she saw that Luke didn't leave, it let her open herself to more. By the end of the book you can just tell it will be nothing but happiness for her and Luke.
Audio reread 2023: this was even better the second time around. The narrators were excellent and I was hooked from the beginning. Highly recommend this series!
2021: I loved this book so much. Shiloh and Luke were perfect for each other. I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. I may or may not have stayed up till 3 AM reading it. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
I have started this several times since publication... it just hasn't held my attention. I couldn't get into the leads... felt nothing for them. I am sad cos I have been loving this series & its predecessor...
So, for now... I am marking this as a DNF. Not a one star... cos, obviously, it's well written... just not for me.
Imperfect (Triple Canopy#3 ) by Riley Edwards is a new series for me and I was highly captivated by this emotional love story. Imperfect is a fast paced steamy story full of suspense, drama and intrigue about how to handle issues such as forgiveness, dealing with pain and allowing people in for support. Sgt. Shiloh Kent is at war with herself as she is doubting her position on the SWAT team she fought so hard to obtain as a situation ended in tragedy. Now she is faced with a life changing decision that will alter her life. When she meets sexy Luke Marcou a former seal, her life is about to change, but does she need this distraction at this time? Luke Marcou is no stranger to a life-changing event as part of a two man sniper team one event will alter his life when during a hail of fire his perfect vision is stolen which has left him broken and damaged. Now he has the opportunity to start over with the Triple Canopy. When Shiloh is looking to master her shooting skills, who should be the best person to teach her but Luke. When these two come together they are instantly attracted to each other neither one is looking for a commitment but they start a sexual relationship that might turn into more once their hearts become entwined. Luke sees that he can offer her more if only she will put her trust in him. Can he break down her walls and allow him to help her? Will these two imperfect people realize they are better together than apart? This story will pull you in with all of the drama, suspense and plenty of steam moments between a sexy strong woman who can't afford to be distracted and a hot alpha man who is loyal and will help the ones he loves. Now things may soon change when Shiloh maybe targeted by a killer. Riley Edwards has a way of telling a story as she brings her characters to life. I highly recommend this story which is a must read.

Imperfect is author Riley Edwards doing what she does absolutely best - crafting strong, amazing, brilliantly imperfect women who you can do nothing but love! What do I love most about this book - Shiloh and Luke's relationship, their chemistry, their interactions and back and forth, you just soak it up and smile, if ever a couple just work they do! Raised by three over-protective older brothers, working as the only woman in a SWAT team, Shiloh Kent has learnt to hold her own, she's truly badass but she also has demons and she doesn't allow anyone to get too close that is until Luke Marcou decides she isn't chasing him away. It took him a while but Luke has found a new normal and a degree of acceptance that has helped him move on with his life after the devastating injury that ended his Seal career, now his mission is breaking down Shiloh's walls and clearing out every bit of self-doubt she has so she can see herself for the powerful worthy woman she is. Luke is digging in and he's not letting go no matter what she throws at him. I loved the building, sexy heat of Shiloh and Luke's intimacy, there's plenty of action to keep you gripped and of course the wonderful Triple Canopy characters throughout. Just when you think you've found your favourite couple then Ms Edwards blows them out of the water and presents you with brand new candidates to love, perfect is seriously over-rated and I’m definitely crushing on the wonderfully imperfect Shiloh and Luke right now, can't wait for the next instalment! Mmm Mmm Mmm. This had every bit of gritty emotion that Edwards is so noted for. It had a lot of heart and a build up of heat where the anticiption was always just right there, but Luke wanted Shiloh ALL in before they muddied love with lust because Shiloh was it for him--period! He was a master at digging deep, pulling out all the ugly she kept inside without forcing her, or backing her into a corner. It was a beautiful thing to read and be a part of. Luke had his own guilt for a long time, but his brothers at Triple C had his back when he needed it. So he stood up for her, he stood up to her brothers, the funny bits in here were many, along with the drama and the riveting action that takes place. These reads just make ya feel like part of the whole big family right there in the midst of it all! Loved it and recommend reading the whole Triple Canopy Series. Tho Imperfect can stand alone with a great HEA itself, all the books are fantastic.
Always a fantastic read with any Riley Edwards book. There is something noteworthy in each and every chapter, be it gut wrenching emotions, words of wisdom, hilarious quips and even unsolicited advice from other characters. You can't help but feel you are the characters and are going through every emotion that they are. The banter from Shiloh at the beginning of the book is hilarious, regarding dinner and groping, Luke's physical reactions over the top and his off handed remarks, very memorable, e.g. "I'm left-handed," going vs leaving, dry spells, asking for help is strong, not weak, feeling safe, all-in, who deserves anything. Most memorable from this book, I can just be me and who am I when I'm not in uniform, and finally, "Nothing in life is free or given."
Awesome. Brilliant. Another magnificent story in the Triple Canopy Series. Shiloh Kent grew up with three over-protective brothers. She overcame a tragic childhood and worked her butt off to get on the SWAT team. Luke Marcou suffered a life-altering injury that removed him from fieldwork with the SEALs. They offered him a desk job, but he was a man wired for action. After meeting at the gun range, their attraction grew. However, Shiloh doesn't allow people too close, and Luke isn't going to leave. It's a tough journey for these two, but the end is worth the trouble. The characters were complex, flawed, and realistic. Riley Edwards hit this one out of the park.

You ever have one of those books you start and you just don’t want it to end? This was one of those for me! Riley truly outdid herself on this one. Shiloh and Luke are freaking amazing! This book was heart wrenching. It was full of emotions that literally took my breath away. It had all the feels and then some. It was gut wrenching at times and so unbelievably sexy at others! It was a story of love and forgiveness. Of never giving up on yourself or others. Absolutely everyone needs to read this series!! Loved it!!
This book was a pleasant surprise. This is the closest to having a Kristen Ashley feel to it than any other books I've read, and that made me very happy.
Great characters, banter, steam, strong plot, and great secondary characters. I'm looking forward to reading about all these characters, both, past and present.
Absolutely loved this story, Luke and Shilo aka Sunny. This story is set at a fast pace. Luke doesn't waste anytime getting to know Sunny and claiming her. Loved Echo, Phoenix and River, I hope we get their stories. Overall a great addition to Triple Canopy Series. Happy Reading!
7of my go too authors came out with new books and the first 2 this one included were duds did not care for the hero very arrogant and obnoxious did not like him and he was supposed to have been partially blind from liberty's book but never mentioned the heroine was wishy washy and winey did not relate to her and she just went with want he told her the plot was weak not her best book but I did like the brothers
Reading the series . This book dealt with a lot of personal issues that stopped a relationship for the main character. The book contained a lot of sex scenes which was not required in some areas. Luke was great in handling Shiloh issues and handling her brothers. It was great to see the other characters in this story from the previous book.
Shiloh doesn't let anyone in, except her brothers and even they don't get the whole Shiloh. Luke meets Shiloh when she comes to the range. Shiloh tries pushing Luke away but he isn't having it. He is breaking down her walls and she doesn't like it, or so she says. When Shiloh is in trouble, will Luke get there in time?
