Well, that was embarrassing.
Imagine my surprise when spontaneous shifting gets added to my list of pregnancy symptoms.

There's never a good time for that sort of horniness.

Dair thinks he knows just the mage to contact, but are Patriam and potions really the answer? The jaguar twins are growing their following faster than I'm healing Haret.

It's time to stop second-guessing myself and go back to trusting my gut.

I'm Carlyle Licorne, and this shift is getting old.

The Sugar Bites series features Carlyle and her six men, navigating the new Haret as only she can do - with snark, sugar, and shanking.

These fun novellas follow the main Haret Chronicles, but they can be read before those books, too.

Ready for your next sugar fix? Scroll up now to start the fun!
Reverse Harem - one girl loving six guys
Fast Burn - our girl is already mated - why wait?
Steamy - suitable for eighteen and up, plus some MM in the harem

More steam, more mystery, and more new information for Carlyle to unravel in the newest novella in the Sugar Bits series. This time around, Carlyle has a whole new pregnancy side effect that shifts into play at all the wrong times (up in the air, for example....). As if that wasn't problem enough, trying to run a country, all while trusting the female mage helping her out, trying to heal herself, AND figure out what is going on with her body causes our favorite Qilin no small amount of stress. Thankfully, her men know just what to do to help her relax in some of the steamiest scenes yet - rope play & lemon ice cream anyone?

I gave this book a 5 out of 5. I read it through the first time in about 4 hours, and slowed down the second read through and took about 5 hours the second time. I liked that in this book, we got to see some of how the politics of Haret work. I do wish we had been able to 'hear' her political speech instead of just seeing that she gave it over and over again, but that's minor. I'd actually like to see a bit more of the politics in future novellas, but to get some of the council meetings in this book was a refreshing change of pace. I also liked having all of the prophecy riddles in one place, one after another, which helped not only refresh my memory on them, but helped to figure out some hidden clues in them that may not have been revealed separately.

This book moves the overall story forward quite a bit, and I appreciated that too. I love this series deeply, and can't wait to see where it goes! IF you're a fan of the books, this one is a must read!

Oh my! The story is not as action packed but it does not disappoint or make it any less exciting and intriguing. The twists and turns in the story keep adding up. The riddles are still there as we try to piece together what it all means. It is a mystery that has so much drama added to the story. Yes, these are novellas but they pack such a magnificent punch in such a short time. I love that this one was a little bit more laid back. It gives us time to reflect on Carlyle and her time as Queen. It allows us to see more of her. By far my favorite has always bee Jai but they all hold a piece of my heart. This one allows us to see more of Dair and boy oh boy do we get to see so much more of him. This is an epic series and these novellas just keep adding more and more to it.

Torn

I'm so torn on the Sugar Bites. I absolutely LOVE these characters and their story, however, the short blips of the story are distracting. The flow is interrupted just as it starts. Maybe it would be better to read once all Bites are out? I'm just so torn as I really want to love these as much as I loved the original series. These characters' story were one of the first RH series I read and got me hooked, so I hold them in high regard (I still fantasize of the Kills, Sol, and Carlyle scene or Kills, Jai, and Carlyle. You know the ones!)

I love these books.

I love being able to read what happens after the original series but I sure do hope that by the time we get to see the vamps get a reckoning we are back to full novels.

Lemon Drop

As the Riddles and Mystery continues as well as the threat of everything else I can only imagine how much stronger this is gonna make the whole crew overall. They love her with everything they have and she them as well.

Good

Some progress is made in this book but there’s quite a bit left to cover and figure out. There were a couple hot scenes with the guys though.

Only filler

Not bad as its truly just a novella, not much importat happens in this one. The spice scenes were maybe not my favorite in this one, idk, but they werent bad.
