As there are three volumes for the book and Goodreads is only showing one, I am just going to accept that this is the first 2 volumes.
Where can I even start? At first the story seemed very slow. It relies heavily on the details. There is a misunderstanding that causes few flustered situation but if it is a comedic book you are expecting after the synopsis, I will have to warn you. There is not a single element of comedy in the story. It is quite the opposite. The story is very serious. Although the start is somewhat mellow as it progresses, as we reach the end of the 2nd novel, the story gets very heavy. It is as if our protagonists cannot catch a single break. Everything that happens leave a melancholic feeling. Even the points where it is supposed to be happy, you feel as if there is a hint of sadness within. Although I myself started the book hoping for a fun story, I have ended up feeling nothing but sorrow.
Surprisingly enough, from the reviews that I read many have mentioned that the story actually gets sad after the 175th chapter but I am already feeling the effects from just 150. I do not even want to imagine the amount of sadness that I have to toughen my heart against. Despite all these I’ve mentioned I would still highly recommend this to anyone I know. With a strong plot and even stronger morals, the life lessons that are embedded in the story are real close to what we are taught as Buddhists. There is definitely something to be taken from this. Now as the translations are not over I will have to take some time off till they finish and return to the story.

Unfortunately the novel is only translated until Chapter 158. Thus I’ll take some time off and proceed to finish it after it’s completed. Hopefully we will get a happy ending for our dear LFX and LS.

You think this is just another xianxia story with time-travel? (I've read the other one, it's just okay)
No! You're wrong.
一十四洲 is not merely an excellent writer who writes poetic proses but also a great creator with interesting ideas.
When writing, she really puts it all into her stories and you can feel it.
She's the type of writer I admire most. Smart, hard-working, sincere, genuine, creative.
(Above are the impressions I got from reading her stories.)
The world-building is lovely; I wish I could attend this academy.
It's a little like Harry Potter as I've seen someone mentioned it somewhere.
References to poetries and time-travel theories, interspersed with philosophy, physics, politics and social commentaries.
Honestly, every time I see time-travel, I can feel my brain cells shrivelled up.
Still, like a moth drawn to the flame, I can't stop myself from reading.
Whether I get the essence of it or not, well that's another case. (I'm just that dumb)
While it's pretty lengthy and the poetic sentences whatnots are killing me, I can't deny that this is a good story.
The mystery is there, the pace is constant, the characters are distinct and interesting, the intended ideas are well implemented into the plot.
It might be a little tiring to pore through the whole thing but it's worth it.
Compared with Little Mushroom, this might be a little lacking, but without comparing, it's a great work on its own.

một chút hài hước, một chút đáng yêu, một chút tu tiên, một chút day dứt, một chút đau lòng, một chút tiếc thương,... chính xác bộ truyện này cái gì cũng có một chút một chút khiến cho dù thiết lập thế giới vô cùng to lớn nhưng tựu chung lại vẫn cứ xoay quanh 2 nhân vật chính mà thôi, và cũng bởi cái gì cũng chỉ có một chút, nên nhiều phân đoạn vẫn chưa thể khuất sâu vào tâm trí người đọc, mang đến cảm giác da diết đến tận cùng, nhưng nói như vậy cũng hơi gay gắt vì truyện không thiếu những câu thoại tình và sâu sắc, và ở những phân đoạn cần sâu sắc thì tác giả vẫn show ra đúng mực, mà có lẽ vì đây là phong cách viết của tác giả, dù cho có bi thương đến mức nào, vẫn mang nét nhẹ nhàng, kiềm chế, xen lẫn hài hước để không khiến người đọc quá bi thương, phong cách này hầu như xuyên suốt cả tác phẩm, hài hước nhưng thấm đượm nét buồn... câu thoại khiến mình nhớ mãi nhất chính là:
Tiêu Thiều "Tiên Quân, gả cho ta"
Lâm Sơ: Ta đã gả cho huynh từ lâu rồi....
Quá tình luôn...
về nội dung chính, plot twist, phát triển nhân vật, giải quyết tình huống và các bí ẩn đã đặt ra thì bộ truyện làm rất hợp lý và tuyệt vời, tác giả đã viết rất chắc tay, tình tiết mở đầu, bí ẩn bỏ ngõ,... tất cả đều được giải quyết một cách hợp lý, không gượng ép chút nào và cũng bám sát vào tính cách, hành động của nhân vật nên không khiến độc giả thấy khó chịu với những động cơ ấy
cuối cùng, là "đạo" của các nhân vật chính, vững vàng xuyên suốt cốt truyện, dù có trải qua thử thách vẫn không thay đổi, có chăng chỉ là trưởng thành thêm mà thôi.
khuyết điểm duy nhất mà mình không thích chính là việc tác giả không xây dựng tuyến nhân vật phụ một cách nghiêm túc (mình không nói đến những nhân vật phụ có liên quan đến cốt truyện chính), mình nhắc đến các nhân vật tuyến 3,4 như Thương Mân, Việt Nhược Hạc,... mình thích nhất là cảnh cuối quyển 1 và cảnh cuối cùng, khi những thiếu niên mang trong mình những hoài bão khác nhau, suy nghĩ khác nhau, nhưng cùng hướng về một mục tiêu duy nhất, cùng nhau tề tụ, nói chuyện, trao đổi về lý tưởng của bản thân,... khung cảnh ấy đẹp và tràn ngập màu sắc tuổi trẻ lắm luôn, giá như tác giả bớt buff sức mạnh của Tiêu Thiều và Lâm Sơ đi, chia bớt những phân đoạn buff đó sang cho các nhân vật phụ này, để họ có vài phân đoạn thể hiện mình, thì câu chuyện sẽ hoàn hảo hơn nhiều, không bị gượng ép quá...

I’m rating this 4 stars because I didn’t like the slice of life parts. But other than that it was really good. If you like sickly lead character then this is perfect. And the humour is hilarious.
This is probably the danmei series with the best world building. There’s a hell lot of poetry references in every chapter if you’re into that sort of thing. Takes a re read to appreciate it fully though!

This was a masterpiece, a hidden gem indeed! The plot twist, the unexpected twists and turns of the events, the character development and the clear explanation of it all was perfect. It gave me a Harry Potter feel, danmei version, similar feel but also different. I recommend reading this. I actually place this novel in line with TGCF, that’s how good I think it is.

Пока помню сюжет, быстро себе набросаю в двух словах о чём сюжет.
Начну с концовки, за которую и поставила 5 звёзд. Такой финт ушами я знатно ценю. И хотя я уже на середине истории догадывалась, но что-б до такой степени всё было закручено - нет.
История повествует о парне, пытавшемуся пройти трибуляцию в современном мире. Его ударяет молния, и он перемещается в далёкое прошлое, где у него заблокированы все меридианы.
Есть некая мисс, утверждающая, что они помолвлены с детства. Она берёт парня под своё крыло, постоянно опекает и защищает. И тут начинается весь аншлаг, т.к. оба на самом деле - парни, но мисс считает гг - девушкой в мужских халатах, а гг - мисс девушкой.
На самом деле жизнь "мисс" не позавидуешь. Уже с рождения ему была уготована тяжёлая судьба, т.к в его жилах течёт императорская кровь и кровь феникса. Долго объяснять, но уже с детства он был вынужден учится трансформировать своё тело на женское и жить под личиной старшей принцессы, дабы никто ничего не заподозрил.
Вообще его жалко. Он очень любил свою мать-императрицу, был предан ей и стране, выполнял все приказы на благо родины, но в итоге его использовали и предали.

This had so much more depth then I expected. For being a webnovel to start, and a romance one too, I thought it would just be romance but it is so well developed. To describe it, part 1 was romance, part 2 was life principles/ Tao, part 3 was companionship, part 4 was karma.
I had been satisfied with the ending of part 3 at the end of the love letter chapter, so with part 4 and how boring it started out to be (about every day life) I honestly skim read those chapters. Then the author found the point part 4 and it just took off!! Honestly, part 4 took the whole story from a four-star to five-start because it show how well thought out it had been. Since the first page.
I can't wait to read more from this author!!

My eyes hurt from crying so much while reading this book. It was lighthearted at the start but this is soooooo well-written. I cried more while reading this compared to when I was reading Little Mushroom (tho the stress from LM was on a whole higher level).
