Started so good but lost is shine half way and dragged to the end.
I'm already guessing the main plot so my interest is lost.
Several parts didn't add up... The h was attacked, she suffered severe trauma in her hole body ( broken nose, slashed face, hands and body) but she is described has flawless, "social media perfect".
The H background is confusing, and his family dynamic also.
The h to the end reminded me of that meme threatening to kill people left and right, breathe and I kill you, touch me I kill you... She threatens to kill the H about 50 times in the book.

ARC provided inexchange for an honest review
My first book by Ruby Wolff was Hidden Secrets , a totally different romance than what Cruel Vengeance promised, so I was very curious to read this new side from the author, at least for me, and I have to say that this dark romance was one of the best I've read, the characters are spectacular, not just the main ones, the story holds very interesting secrets, and it develops at an incredible pace .
Raven is a WONDERFUL character, a girl who has gone through unimaginable tragedies that have turned her into a tough, strong, brave and ruthless person, she's willing to get the revenge she needs to continue go ahead and protect her family in the process, plus, she wants her family to be the most powerful in London, and to achieve this, she agreed to marry Hunter a man who is involved in politics and that has a secret agenda that she doesn't know.
Raven stole my heart from the first moment, I love that she's as, or more, violent and bloodthirsty than Hunter, how she distrusted everyone and NEVER loses sight of her goals, one of the things I liked the most was reading her friendship with Gen & Hugo, I think they had a sincere, loyal and very beautiful relationship with both of them, I loved his determination to keep his word with Gen, and the personal story that unites them is so heartbreaking as moving.
On the other hand, Hunter has also faced tragedy through the loss of his parents when he was little and seeks revenge on the man who murdered them: Raven's father, and that's his reason behind the arranged marriage between both families. The interesting thing about Hunter is that he lives a double life because he's an exemplary politician who is running to be mayor of the city, and on the other is the face that handles the important issues of a criminal family, but this last facet is the one that most resembles his reality: a cruel, violent, bloody man who loves to get his hands dirty, and who unexpectedly finds his equal in the daughter of the man who destroyed his life. One of the things I enjoyed the most about this character was reading him lose sight of his goal, trying to hide his feelings for Raven and starting to doubt everyone.
Raven & Hunter are true soul mates, totally ruthless, bloodthirsty, reckless and violent, they don't have the easiest relationship in the world, but one that works, because even with their hatred and mutual mistrust, they chemistry and attraction can't be hiden. I loved how they behave with each other, how they show themselves as they are, at least when having fun with their enemies, and I really enjoyed Hunter discovering his feelings for Raven , I really liked that he tried to get to know her, support her and protect her, and even when she doesn't know whether to trust him or not, I love the moments they share, from violence, to when they allow themselves to open their hearts to the other. And I definitely loved the role Hugo & Colin play in Hunter & Raven's relationship, as much as in their personal lives, I think these two characters brought a lot to the story and helped me to understand better the main characters, (I'm obviously looking forward to their story with Gen, too).
I think Ruby Wolff did an excellent job of entangling me in the lies, secrets, and assumptions that her characters made throughout the book, and although there were many unanswered questions, and I have my theories, I think it was an incredible experience to discover what everyone hides in this universe, and after that ending I'm dying to know what will happen when Raven discovers the truth about Hunter, and if what he knows is what really happened, without a doubt it will be a very exciting outcome.

Mi primer libro de Ruby Wolff fue Hidden Secrets, un romance totalmente diferente a lo que Cruel Vengeance prometía, por eso tenía mucha curiosidad de leer este nuevo lado de la autora, al menos para mi, y tengo que decir que este dark romance fue uno de los mejores que he leído, los personajes son espectaculares, no solo los principales, la historia guarda secretos muy interesantes, y se desarrolla a un ritmo increíble.
Raven es un personaje MARAVILLOSO, es una chica que ha pasado por tragedias inimaginables que la han convertido en una persona dura, fuerte valiente y despiadada, ella esta dispuesta a conseguir la venganza que necesita para seguir adelante y a proteger su familia en el proceso, además, Raven busca que su familia sea la más poderosa de Londres, y para lograrlo accedió a casarse con Hunter un hombre que esta involucrado en la política y que tiene una agenda secreta que ella desconoce. Raven se robó mi corazón desde el primer momento, me encanta que sea tanto o más violenta y sanguinaria que Hunter, que desconfié de todos y JAMÁS pierda de vista sus objetivos, una de las cosas que más me gustó fue leer su amistad con Gen & Hugo, creo que con ambos tiene una relación sincera, leal y muy hermosa, amé su empeño en mantener su palabra con Gen, y la historia personal que las une es tan desgarradora como conmovedora.
Por otra parte, Hunter también se ha enfrentado a la tragedia a través de la perdida de sus padres cuando era pequeño y busca vengarse del hombre que los asesinó: el papá de Raven, y esa es su razón detrás del matrimonio arreglado entre ambas familias. Lo interesante de Hunter es que vive una doble vida ante los habitantes de Londres, pues por un lado es un político ejemplar que se está postulando para ser alcalde de la ciudad, y por el otro es la cara que maneja los asuntos importantes de una familia criminal, pero esta ultima faceta es la que más se semeja a su realidad: un hombre cruel, violento, sanguinario y que ama ensuciarse las manos, y que encuentra inesperadamente a su igual en la hija del hombre que destruyó su vida. Una de las cosas que más disfruté con respecto a éste personaje fue leerlo perder de vista su objetivo, intentar ocultar sus sentimientos por Raven y comenzar a dudar de todos.
Raven & Hunter son verdaderas almas gemelas, totalmente despiadados, sedientos de sangre, imprudentes y violentos, no tienen la relación más fácil del mundo, pero sí una que funciona, pues aún con su odio y desconfianza mutuas tienen una química y atracción que ninguno se molesta en ocultar. Me encantó como se comportan con el otro, y se muestran tal como son, al menos al momento de divertirse con sus enemigos, y disfruté mucho de Hunter descubriendo sus sentimientos por Raven, me gustó mucho que intentara conocerla, apoyarla y protegerla, y aun cuando ella no sabe sí confiar en él o no, me encantan los momentos que comparten, desde la violencia, hasta cuando se permiten abrir su corazón al otro. Y definitivamente amé el papel que juegan Hugo & Colin en la relación de Hunter & Raven, tanto como en sus vidas personales, creo que estos dos personajes aportaron muchísimo a la historia y me ayudaron a entender mejor a los personajes principales, (obviamente estoy deseando conocer su historia con Gen, también).
En cuanto a la trama, creo que Ruby Wolff hizo un trabajo excelente enredándome en las mentiras, secretos y suposiciones que sus personajes hicieron a lo largo del libro, y aunque quedaron muchas preguntas sin responderse, y tengo mis teorías, creo que fue una experiencia increíble ir descubriendo lo que todos ocultan en este universo, y después de ese final muero por saber qué va a pasar cuando Raven descubra la verdad sobre Hunter, y sí lo que él sabe es lo que realmente pasó, sin lugar a dudas va a ser un desenlace muy emocionante.

This story was dark gritty and sexy ! It has everything I love about a good dark romance! The twists and turns the keeping me guessing I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through I can’t wait for the next book because that ending!

This book by far is my favourite of Ms. Wolff. She holds nothing back when it comes to showing us dark elements of graphic violence, steamy panty melting scenes and many twists and turns to be revealed in book two. The story had me captured from page one to the last. So much happens to and by the characters that there was no way to be bored. I loved Raven and Hunter. They are equals in all ways a psycho king and queen should be.

Dark, deadly, and gritty is exactly what this story is, as well as the characters within it. The storyline hooked me in after a bit of a messy start and then I had to know what happened to both lead characters, Hunter and Raven.
I honestly can’t imagine a big-time criminal family member running for mayor but hey, maybe lots have done it already and pulled the wool over our eyes in real life, who knows. 🤷🏻♀️ It is made more realistic by the fact it’s been a five-year plan and in one way who better than this to have in this leadership role?
Hunter and Raven are perfect for each other, although theirs is an arranged marriage it triggers much more between them—red hot, fierce passion, an appreciation for each other’s skillsets, but also mistrust and apprehension about the future. I liked both characters even though they are both deadly killers. Raven has definitely earned her name as the ‘Psycho Ice Queen’, come to think of it, so has Hunter as the ‘Cruel King’. I am so looking forward to reading what happens next for both of these characters.
Trust is the key element in this story and I feel there is a definite worry about how much trust Hunter can place in his adopted family. I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them personally! 😀 Knowing who to trust is the killer for Raven as well. Time will tell, bring on book two!

While I was slightly confused by the beginning of Cruel Vengeance and found the beginning of the book kinda hard to follow, once I got a few chapters in I was completely hooked. Raven and Hunter were such dynamic and twisted characters that I couldn't help but want to read more. There were some scenes that honestly made me feel like I was reading a story about Harley Quinn and the Joker. The two of them were both so invested in their own twisted world together that they only saw one another, and their desires for revenge. While I was reading the book and I was getting closer and closer to the end I kept wondering how it was going to end so soon with so many plot points open, and then I found out that there is a book two coming out in December and now I can't wait for it.
Raven Cummings has been broken since her mother died, and since then all she has wanted is revenge, and she's going to do anything she can to get it. But as the daughter of Arthur Cummings, the head of one of London's biggest crime families she can't say no to the arranged marriage that he set up between her and the future mayor of London, Hunter Armstrong.
Ever since Hunter's family was killed he has been determined to get revenge against the man who killed them, Arthur Cummings, and he plans to use his mayoral campaign as a way to get to Arthur and his daughter Raven. Marrying Raven is just a means to an end for Hunter, it'll help him get elected and then he'll break Arthur like he deserves and then deal with Raven.
While the two have no trust between them they do have a passion for violence and blood that they can't help but like in the other. When everything they thought they knew seems to be wrong how will that change their plans for revenge?

Cruel Vengeance is a dark story that contains pretty much every element of violence one could think of, there are lies that need to be peeled back to find the truth, both Hunter and Raven are seeking revenge but one of them may be looking at the wrong crime family and both have short tempers, Raven almost daily and Hunter, well he has other ways to calm his temper. Add to all of the above and the combustible sexual attraction between these two characters might just cause this whole thing to explode.
Author Ruby Wolff has taken several story lines and woven them together to keep readers guessing and surmising events while reading this story.
There is always something happening and you might want to keep a scorecard.
Just when you think things will go in one direction, readers are blindsided and now will wait until Hunter is able to find out the answer to a question I can’t give away, but believe me we all want his response as soon as we can get it.

Please excuse me while I scream about how incredible this book is! It has everything I love in a dark romance and a storyline that has more twists and turns in than I thought I would be able to keep up with!
Raven is incredible. She's one brutal badass, who loves killing - She's even given the nickname Ice Queen for her unique form of torture. Which, I've never heard of before! Hunter is also a badass who's running for Mayor so it'll help his crime family eventually. These two are definitely a perfect toxic match together. There antics together are insane, and those sex scenes - wow 🔥.
I so highly recommend this for dark romance fans. You will eat this up, pure psycho perfection!

This story is full of surprises and will have you second guessing everything you thought you knew.

This was Ruby Wolfe's best yet !
I absolutely loved it I was so disappointed that it's over ... I can't wait for the next book ...

Cruel Vengeance utterly captured my heart and honestly I'm probably never gonna be the same again. It blew my mind with its darkness, raw emotions, revenge, tension and all the epicness!
Raven and Hunter are truly a match made in heaven, or should I say hell? The crave they have for each other and their darkness is stunning! The angst between them, oh my gosh it's magnificent. They're so violent and intense, hehe, and their dynamic truly something wild and dark! I adore them so fiercely, I can't even tell you how much. Everything about them is top-freaking-notch, I swear! Every single moment, wooh!

Y'all probably already know that I'm obsessed with Ruby Wolff's books but oh boy this went over and beyond. It's by far my favorite book from her and it's seriously next level, holy smokes!

Raven and Hunter are truly a match made in heaven, or should I say hell? The crave they have for each other and their darkness is stunning! The angst between them, oh my gosh it's magnificent. They're so violent and intense, hehe, and their dynamic truly something wild and dark! I adore them so fiercely, I can't even tell you how much. Everything about them is top-freaking-notch, I swear! Every single moment, wooh!

King and Queen of dark and dangerous! Just how I like it!
This was unique in that the heroine is as "dangerous" as the hero! And, let me add anti-heroes!
It's dark, no skipping through fields of flowers here! Slipping on blood, more like it!
Raven and Hunter, my gosh... the author has really pulled out the stops on these two! Raven and Hunter are intense, scary characters who have earned their nicknames, but they've also earned a fan!

Cruel Vengeance: I loved Hunter and Raven.
Before I go into how much of a stunned mullet I am right now, I have to say I loved, loved, loved this hella dark romance from Author Ruby Wolff. Yep, I’ve read her before and absolutely love her books with a passion so I know how talented her writing is, it’s just that while COLD HEART and HIDDEN SECRETS were poles apart on the dark and light scale of romance, CRUEL VENGEANCE took a step further into that dark abyss, and to be honest, I thought I’d struggle with the heavy content at times, and surprised myself when Ms Wolff’s writing carried me relatively smoothly through it.
Raven Cummings and Hunter Armstrong have such complex histories, and have overcome some immense trauma, Raven even more so, that if Ms Wolff had written their story with the smallest smidgeon of lightness, she would’ve betrayed the dark intensity of her characters.
Raven is up there as one of the most bad@r$e mofo’s that I’ve ever read, yet her integrity and loyalty to her family, and those she loves is second-to-none. She’ll protect them or die trying. She is also a champion of those made vulnerable and exploited by rival crime families, and she has a set of rules that are set in stone. If anyone breaks them, retribution is slow, painful and fatal. No questions asked – unless it’s information that she requires before their end is met. Furthermore, even as she intensely desires her new fiancé, she doesn’t trust Hunter at all because she asks for honesty, and sees that he is keeping secrets to himself.
Hunter in turn, sees Raven as a means to wreak his revenge on the family that he blamed for the death of his. But before that happens, he’ll be using the Cumming Family’s extensive social network and stellar reputation for his own future’s plans He’s just as deadly as Raven, and I absolutely loved the intense mutual admiration and heavy chemistry between them. What I loved though, was his continuous internal struggles when he actually met her and felt the huge attraction between them. He also started to suspect that all was not what it seemed within his own adopted family.
They complemented each other perfectly, admired each other’s reputation and carried enough dark emotional baggage to fill a shipping container. They both inspired the ride or die loyalty and friendship from those closest to them, and those people are the amazing secondary characters that rounded out and made CRUEL VANGEANCE the 5-Star book that it is.
For all that CRUEL VENGEANCE sounds dark and deadly, the romantic chemistry hangs like the gorgeous shroud that it is around our killer couple. After all, in Ruby Wolff’s PSYCHO WORLD, there’s nothing more romantic than a decent night out of adrenaline raising maiming and killing. So, maybe the couple who kill together stay together, or whatever that saying may be...

OMG! Dark and twisted don’t even come close to describing this amazing story! Blasting out of the pages is something deadly, murderous, bloody and utterly violent. The story will hook you right from the very beginning, throw you down a rabbit hole of gore and debauchery and then leave you to crawl out of the bloody mud when you get to the shocking ending. This is one hell of a depraved and violent rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to stop.
Raven is a MF badass Queen!! She’s one hell of a force to be reckoned with. Nothing stops her and if you get in her way or betray her, the Psycho Ice Queen will come out to play. She’s utterly deadly, slightly unhinged, and as cruel as can be. There are so many demons in her closet that when they come out to play, everyone needs to watch out!
Hunter, I am not quite sure about him yet. He is just as unhinged as Raven, definitely cruel and violent but keeps his secrets tightly hidden even if it may hurt him when they get revealed. There are a lot of things he needs to push past before his real relationship with Raven can begin. But when his secrets start to ooze out of the darkness will Raven give him her famous ice pick?
Raven and Hunter could be absolutely perfect for each other only if they would just let their walls down. They may be toxic together at times, but they are both passionate about what they stand for and protecting those they love. They share this unique appreciation for vengeance, revenge and bloody murder. Their interactions are laced with pain, anger, desire and so much sexual tension (which will curl your toes at times). The push and pull for power and dominance between them is filled with intense heat and fire. And when these two collide panties are obliterated and kindles are set on fire! I can’t wait to see how their story progresses.
I loved everything about this story. It’s well written, with complex, broken and damaged characters, and with a storyline that is intense, suspenseful, heartbreaking and dark. There are so many secrets, mysteries and twists that it will leave you shocked and begging to know how it all turns out.

Dark, deadly and gritty is exactly what this story is, as well as the characters within it. The storyline hooked me in after a bit of a messy start and then I had to know what happened to both lead characters, Hunter and Raven.
I honestly can’t imagine a big time criminal family member running for mayor but hey, maybe lots have done it already and pulled the wool over our eyes in real life, who knows. 🤷🏻♀️ It is made more realistic by the fact it’s been a five-year plan and in one way who better than this to have in this leadership role?
Hunter and Raven are perfect for each other, although theirs is an arranged marriage it triggers much more between them—red hot, fierce passion, an appreciation for each other’s skill sets, but also mistrust and apprehension about the future. I liked both characters even though they are both deadly killers. Raven has definitely earned her name as the ‘Psycho Ice Queen’, come to think of it, so has Hunter as the ‘Cruel King’. I am so looking forward to reading what happens next for both of these characters.
Trust is the key element in this story and I feel there is a definite worry with how much trust Hunter can place in his adopted family. I wouldn’t trust them as far as as I could throw them personally! 😀 Knowing who to trust is the killer for Raven as well. Time will tell, bring on book two!

SYNOPSIS: MC lost his family to the FC‘s family and wants vengeance.
DNF - Each to their own but I do not understand all the 5 star reviews. Was I reading the same book? I very rarely actually give up on a book as if it is bad I just skim read it. However with this I just could not manage to read it to the end. I found the writing to be juvenile, with limited proper editing and bad grammar with tenses jumping around and spelling errors. I find that kind of sloppy writing annoying. So many authors seem to be unable to ensure their books are properly edited and spell checked which I find an insult to their readers.
The style of writing, as I mentioned, comes across as juvenile with the author trying to create scary, tough characters by simply writing that they are scary and psychopaths as oppose to building up the characters and letting you seem how dark they are. Both characters seem to enjoy talking about how scary they are and what psychopaths they are. The FC is the „Ice Queen“ because her form of torture is an ice cube hung above her victims that melts and drips acid onto them. The author seems to have not realised that only an idiot would think this is some great signature move as the torturer themselves would either (1) get acid dripped on them while they tried to speak with and further torture their victim; and/or (2) have to stand in said acid to get close to the victim to again, continue the torture. I am pretty sure that no real torturer would want to get splashed with acid or stand in acid which would the hurt them 🫣🙄

Começando pelo fato de ele se tornar prefeito de Londres e ganhando a confiança de Arthur que não sabe quem ele realmente é..
O segundo passo é se casar com Raven... E é aqui que o livro começa com o noivado dos dois.
Simplesmente a autora trabalha essa atração dos dois... E como eles são parecidos nas circunstâncias e como isso os fazem aos poucos irem se apaixonando... Tudo e visceral para ele... É muito sexo e sangue envolvido e o principal a desconfiança já que nenhum confia em ninguém com razão
As cenas são ótimas... Já vou para o segundo depois de me alimentar pq eu fiquei obcecada para saber o que ia acontecer... Se a Raven ia descobrir as verdades... E se o Hunter tbm já que é bem claro a verdade por trás da sua história

This was such a twisted and dark story and I loved every minute of it! Hunter and Raven do not trust each other. They literally want to kill the other one all the time. Their chemistry is 👏🔥🥵. Between his fights and her torture techniques, they are a match made for the underworld. I absolutely loved this quote and is sums it up perfectly - “....Mr and Mrs Psychopath, England’s very own Joker and Harley Quinn.”

Hunter and Raven’s story is about loss, heartbreak and revenge. Both have their reasons and the people who wronged them will get what's coming to them. Hunter has believed one thing all his life regarding the death of his mother and nothing will stop him from getting his revenge, that is until Raven becomes part of his plan. Raven is his match, she is cold, calculating and was given the nickname ice queen for a reason.
These two don’t trust each other, but also need each other. She knows he’s hiding something and his plan is beginning to unravel thanks to his father. Their story is so twisted and dark, full of lust and now love, but when the woman he loves is attacked will he get the chance to come clean about his lies or will their lives together end before it even gets started? Another amazing read by this author and o can’t wait for the next book.

This is the 1st in a new series and what a beginning this story is! Hunter is focused on vengeance when he discovers who murdered his parents, and he wants to marry the man concerned daughter Raven. Raven is seeking her own vengeance against those who took away her mother and brother from her family, and now she must enter an arranged marriage with Hunter, a man she does not like or trust. These two compliment each other perfectly as they are both cold and calculating, but they appreciate each other’s skills. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, deadly, intense, and with emotions, loss, grieving, suspense, danger, passion, family. Twists, revenge, heartbreak, redemption, lies, and trust, which all leads to a riveting and addictive mindblowing page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

My Thoughts: Hunter is out for vengeance after discovering who was behind his parent's death. Raven is also looking for revenge on the people who took her mother and brother away. The two of them arrange a marriage with one another. While there is a lack of trust between them, they both have a mutual appreciation for their skills. The characters are similar in their calculative ways and impose fear on others. Their attraction is mutual; however, they both fight it. I loved Raven's character. She is strong, fierce, and a total boss. This book is dark, gritty, and suspenseful, with twists, and betrayals. It is a page-turner with a little cliffhanger. I recommend checking any trigger warnings. I highly recommend this book to my dark romance lovers.

Hunter is a man on a mission, he's convinced that a rival crime family killed his parents and will stop at nothing to get the revenge that he's owed. He's dangerous, dark and gritty and I love him.
Raven is bloody amazing, she's psychotic, brutal to the core and doesn't take no s*** from anyone, she trust no one unless your in her inner circle, it has to be earned.
The wild ride this book took me on had my heart constantly in my mouth. There's everything in there and it had my emotions on high alert.
Thier story is only just beginning, let's see whats to come.

First if your squeamish about lots of killing this isn't for you. What it does have is a lot of loyalty to the ones they love and will do anything to protect them. Hunter and Raven enter into a loveless marriage to combine two families but in truth Hunter wants to destroy Raven's family. They both have had a horrific childhood but when Hunter finds out about Raven's secret can he go through with the family plan or turn on the ones he loves and trusts the most. These two definitely have a very combustible and explosive love-hate relationship. Lots of blood shed between the two. I'm excited to read the next book to find out what happens next.

Dark, gritty and deadly! I really enjoyed how messy and complicated Hunter and Raven's relationship becomes and how their lives are built around revenge and violence.
Hunter was always meant to take down Raven's family and more importantly her father and the rift between the two families is intense but Hunter's attraction to Raven is unfathomable and a huge distraction.
This book takes on so many emotions with both Raven and Hunter it definitely heightens the sexual tension between the two and makes it incredibly sexy.
Author Ruby Wolff is a new author for me and I honestly enjoyed this dark crime romance story. I can't wait for for more from the Pyscho World Series.

Psycho Ice Queen is about to meet her Cruel King. WOW!!!!! Hunter and Raven's book puts a while new twist on enemies to lovers, it's dark, twisted, but with so much you won't believe when it starts to reveal their story. This book gave me all the feels, emotions. It will suck you in and keep you glued to your seat and blow your mind at the same time. Raven and Hunter take you an action packed, blood thirsty, steamy, intense read that will leave you breathless and waiting for the next. Mr. and Mrs. Psychopath will have on your knees. An absolutely amazing read that doesn't disappoint but will keep you on pins and needles waiting for the next.

read this in half a day... Well it's after midnight so that shows how good a book it is since I've not done that in a long time lol Gripped me from the beginning, both vicious and you know what's coming and who's to blame but I'm really trying not to start book two. Read a chapter or two and make up your own mind 😊

Loved this book!
Hunter and Raven are amazingly ment for each other! There are so many twists and turns in this story. I couldn't put it down! I'm not really a fan of cliffhangers, but I am definitely looking forward to the next one!!!
