With a cast of quirky characters, action, adventure, and international exotic settings, A-MUSED is a new take on Greek mythology that will leave you laughing. If you love books by Katie McAlister, CJ Archer, and Sophie Kinsella then you will enjoy this fun beach read.
Glenda is not only an author, award-winning photojournalist, and artist, she is also an adventurer and dreamer. She’s evaded arrest in Cuba, climbed an uncharted mountain in Alaska, played in a jazz band at the Montreux Jazz Festival at the age of 16, thwarted a purse snatcher in Dublin, Ireland, and found herself stranded on an island in Greece as a violent storm brewed in the Aegean. Her experiences and encounters around the world have been itching to come out in stories for a very long time. So, A-mused, her second book is a sort of exorcism to make room for more stories and characters to come take center stage. With that new freedom, she’s back to writing and painting while living the exotic life of an expat in Mexico with her own Apollo (a lover of the arts), and her dogs, Sassanach and Chaucer.
A-MUSED: My Big Fat Greek Mythology by Glenda Rogers is just as mystical and unpredictable as the characters in this novel. Rani is headed to Greece for a much-needed vacation with her best friend, Hayden. Things take a bizarre twist when she begins to hear music no one else can and see supernatural creatures. The people in her dreams become real. While in Greece, the experiences become more deadly. Rani is mauled by dogs, stalked by men, and afraid she is losing her mind. Animals and astronomy are also being affected. Returning to New York brings the stalkers to her home as they beg her to remember who she is because she is the only one who can defeat the fierce monster, Typhon.
I found A-MUSED riddled with Greek mythology, astronomy, and mystic characters struggling to get their way, even if it destroys the world. I could tell Glenda Rogers poured much of her expertise and enthusiasm into this fantasy novel. Life experiences like her love of music, travel, respect for veterans, and star gazing seasoned with humor make for an unforgettable read. When constellations, gods, and goddesses come to life, the pace quickens as each possesses a powerful characteristic. The intensity of the characters builds as Rani slowly remembers. Will she be on time, and can she complete the task she knows she must do? Throughout the battle and pride of those characters, you find a romantic and sad story between two lovers who fight to protect each other, tearing them apart. This novel is uniquely different than anything else you will read, making it refreshing and enticing.
If love, intrigue, stalking, and dynamic character development isn't enough to hold interest, Glenda Rogers tosses in a robust infusion of Greek gods run amuck. Even if you have a deep background in mythology you won't be able to guess what's coming in this must-read book. For those whose knowledge of mythological characters is less developed, Rogers introduces the gods and goddesses within well-crafted scenes that bring to life their impact. Rani, our protagonist, is likable and readers will have empathy for this accomplished young woman on a sometimes edgy adventure. We want her to win, to change and develop into her best self. The reader will not be disappointed in her journey and will not be able to stop reading this exciting story by Glenda Rogers.
Well written amusing characters! It kept you guessing throughout the story. Which is hard to do! Especially when the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology come out to play!! Well written and well done over all

A-Mused: My Big Fat Greek Mythology is a mystical and unpredictable romance filled with ancient gods and goddesses.
Rani heads to Greece with her dear friend, Hayden, for a much-needed vacation. She begins to hear strange music and voices asking her to free them that no one else can. With nothing but a simple “Okay. Poof, you’re free. Now leave me alone,” Rani releases the voices. What ensues is a rollick of dreamy romance, attacks from strange dogs, and stalkers.
As Rani uncovers who she is, she looks for a way to help restore peace among the gods and defeat the villain, Typhon. Rani grows throughout the novel, making her not only a likable character but a realistic one, even if she is dealing with Greek myths. Meanwhile, the comedy launched in Rani’s dealings with the various gods and goddesses invites a beautiful array of characters; each has their own level of wit and depth.
With all gods, there is always a matter of pride that often gets in the way of their happiness. Rogers uses that element to create a sweeping romance of two people torn apart by the love and desire to protect one another. The fantasy remains sweet throughout and always a side aspect of the overall arc of Rani finding and loving herself.
Glenda Rogers handles the plot and characters with expertise in a book chock full of Greek mythology, astronomy, and sweet romance. Her affection for the subject matter shows. There is music, laughter, whimsy, and hardship, making A-Mused a well-rounded little rom-com.
The pace is lightning fast without lacking detail. Things pick up once Rani returns home to New York, and the litany of mythological Greeks truly vie for her attention. There is something unique about Rani’s whimsical adventure. Even though the subject matter is familiar, the gods and goddesses relatively well known, Rogers takes the time to unravel a new perspective.
