I have never read a hornier hero

I'll be honest, this novella made me laugh so much. The dirty talk was absolutely hilarious and the sex is super unrealistic, but that is to be expected in books.

Vale (H) is a Navy SEAL and while he was deployed, his new stepsister (that he hadn't met) was sending him letters that really kept his moral up during some of his worst moments. When he returns home, everything changes for them. Vale is shocked to learn his stepsister, Lula (h), is not a little kid, but a woman. This doesn't stop him from making her call him 'daddy' and calling her 'little girl' (yikes)

"Never been a Daddy before, but I was yours the second I stepped off the plane wasn't I? And so did this pretty virgin cunt...And what does that make you, my too-tight princess?"

OMG. It's been a minute since I've read a Stalker book. I've missed them. Jessa Kane has produced a ridiculous, over the top, stalker mess... and I am HERE for it!!! VALE IS DADDY. I needed a cold shower after reading this one.

Stalker + Daddy kink + military in this book and I love it. The Daddy kink came out of nowhere and just hit me in the face.

I'm not super into the eastern medicine thing that Lula is into but the book isn't sooo filled with it and pushy with it that it's annoying. Vale can stalk me anytime. I'll be re-reading this one soon.

Taboo/pseudo-incest romance done well. Emotion- & romance-based despite the quickness of their official meeting to sex (day2) to H's proposal (day3).

Disabled 32yo Navy SEAL H and 18yo virgin stepsister-of-1yr 18yo h knew each other for 1 year as pen-pals since their parents married each other while he was still on active duty as a Navy SEAL. H thought she was a younger teen but valued h's letters since it helped him psychologically cope with his war trauma and their letters weren't sexual nor romantic. Loved that throughout the book their appreciation for the other's character was repeatedly mentioned and helped balance the insta-ness of their meeting to sex/proposal as genuinely romantic and not make it seem just lust-based or from emotional impulsivity. Both H&h weren't impulsive people and were, in fact, both introverted and put a lot of thought into things. At their 1st person-to-person meeting, they we’re just agog at how sexually attracted they were to each other so things quickly changed their relationship from friendship to sexy romance. H’s frankness and openness about how attracted he was to h was a big factor in speeding up their relationship.

h was shyly honest with H. She was wary about H’s attraction to her since she’s never inspired open lust in males before and her mom's repeated put-downs about h being a “chubby hippie” and how H should be with tall slender women got to her. And she was kind & honest enough to inform H this. Loved how H kept proving to h how smoking hot he viewed her to be and that she was it for him forever. Loved H’s OTT stalkery obsession and open protective-possessiveness with h (ie., he deliberately kissed & held h’s hands while the public was taking photos of him, he bought h an engagement ring ASAP right after her mom told her that H was only with her coz she forced him). He was proud of snagging h and wanted everyone to know it. Loved how the 5yr epilogue showed that H’s stalkery obsession with his now-wife h just increased with time and with kids and coupled with therapy & meditation for his PTSD.  It wasn’t just a novelty or a strange result from his PTSD.

Hot sexual tension/detailed bareback S made hotter by their feelings for each other and the repeated “stepsister”/“stepbrother” and D/LG names that added a taboo/pseudo-incest spice to their smexxing. Good emotional involvement for  a novella. I had to put this book down a few times due to life distractions and the emotion and sexual tension of this book didn't die away when I picked it up again. I could feel their love and caring for each other when no woods were spoken.  Good char growth. h learned to stand up to her fat-shaming  social-climber mom and be ok with her plump curvy body and her Eastern medicine interests. She became much more self-confident, even in her posture and fashion. H changed from being a tortured work-focused man to a calmer man who’s obsessed with his wife.  Their love made them become better people.

Sexual history:
No info of whether 18yo virgin h had dated or kissed anyone. But she’s never flirted before H and only experienced sexual arousal with H. H is also the 1st to see or touch her privates. H had some short-term GFs but not even a “ smidgen” of what he felt for h. He’d been celibate for 2 years due to active military service.

Okay so JK books are a little too addicting to stop reading. But this book got me one step there.

This just didn’t do it for me. It was a mess and just al over the place. The insta-lust didn’t hit right for me and it was honestly. Just boring.

This was a stepbrother - stepsister romance. An age gap. A virgin heroine (duh). A fat-shaming mother. Anger issues father.

Vale is a 32 year old decorated Navy SEAL who everyone and their mother knows who he is  because he killed a wanted terrorist. He doesn’t really give a shit about that and just wants Lula to be his the moment he lays eyes on her. Except she’s his stepsister. Oops. That doesn’t stop them though.

I mean... he even humped her on the couch while their parents fell asleep just a few feet away. Geezus.

The stalker situation was super duper light though. Sure, he followed her camping and watched her from afar for a bit, then snuck up on her while she was masturbating in a secluded cave... but that’s pretty light on the stalker scale to me really. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So they have filthy dirty sex and he talks about getting her pregnant, she’s his, he hasn’t been with a woman in years so he’s all insatiable for Lula. It’s pretty damn hot.

I so wanted to love this one but it definitely wasn't my favourite.



A few reasons why I didn't enjoy this read:

1. I don't mind the age gap as long as the heroine is at least 20+. Here Lula is 18, a virgin and quite inexperienced in almost every area of life while Vale is 32, a military veteran with PTSD.

2. I'm not a fan of the whole daddy kink. It's just not my jam.

3. The whole stepsibling thing was another issue. I get that they are practically strangers whose parents got married and I guess that wouldn't be an issue for me if he didn't keep referring to her as his stepsister, even when they were doing the dance with no pants. Because that was deeply disturbing, even for a perv like me.
If they established right from the get-go and announced that to the entire world that they don't see each other that way, never have, never will, well then it would be a different story.
And I know that sometimes shit happens and it's not like they're blood related or anything and there's nothing wrong with them falling for each other. I just wish it was handled differently.

4. It all happens within 2-3 days so to say that the time frame is ridiculous would be a major understatement.

5. Dry humping with your parents napping next to you? Sorry, that's just a big fat nope from me. And it was pretty unsettling.

I love Jessa Kane but this read clearly wasn't for me. Oh well...
