Fate doesn’t make mistakes, does she?

Kathleen Davis has never been more confused. While running from one wolf who insists she is his mate, she finds herself face to face with her real mate. Why is he such a jerk? Screw him. If this is what a “real” mate is, she wants no part of him.

Gabriel Albertson’s family hosts the Wolf Gathering every two years, but he hasn’t been home in ages. Fortifying himself to face the masses of unmated females, he never even makes it out the door before his one and only bounds right into his hiding place. To his disappointment, she isn’t what he expects.

But Gabriel is mistaken, and his error insults his gorgeous mate. He must hunt her down, apologize, and convince her he isn’t as rude as he first appeared to be. Although he manages to claim her, Kathleen isn’t impressed with his charm. Can he pull his act together, tail between his legs, and convince her their mating is real and worth the risk to her heart?

This is quite expensive for a short read.

I think it would have been better if there was more of a build up leading to the hot scenes. They recognised each other as "fated mates" too soon into the book. I also prefer curves on my heroine for erotic fiction.
description
Gabriel Albertson, a 30 yo doctor and Alpha werewolf is the dominant type. He generally avoids the wolf gatherings to find his fated "mate" when he accidentally stumbles upon the heroine (Kathleen Davis). He recognises her as his mate, but is concerned that she's too young to be mated (he assumes she's 16)..
description
Kathleen Davis is an innocent 21 yo newly graduated werewolf, hoping to be a teacher. She's escaping a rather troubled young man with special needs (who really ought to be supervised around women - poor thing) when she hides in a room and encounters the hero (Gabriel Albertson). She isn't aware of him being her fated "mate" and find shish behaviour weird and rude. She isn't one of those pushover types and challenges Gabriel.
description
The book starts off pretty hot - lots of steamy dirty talk. Their fantasies and initial unreciprocated lust each other are way hotter than the actual scenes of when they get it on together. Gabriel starts off all domineering and tough but becomes all sweet and rather too malleable. It's an ok read - but just too short.

If your looking for your next kindle thrill with hot scenes, dirty talk and not much leading up to it - "a quickie" as it were - this book will be perfect. Alpha werewolf hero, pure young heroine and hot bedroom scenes.

This was just ok. Kathleen's concerns were valid and realistic about losing herself in her new mating with Gabriel. I think the author did a pretty good job touching on the basic dynamics of dom/sub relationships in such a short book.

However, I did not like how often Gabriel referred to past flings in his head, even if he was just narrating about dom/sub play. It was a bit off-putting to me, even if they were just passing thoughts. The lack of a mating bite also bothered me. It didn't feel like a done deal. After he comes in her for the first time, she's like "I'm claimed now" and I just felt like...that's it? For having Gabriel not wanting to go back to being "vanilla" without dom/sub play, it sure felt vanilla of this author to forgo such a staple to shifter books.

One last thing is that this did not feel like a shifter universe. They didn't talk about their inner wolves at all-- you know, their OTHER HALF-- so there was this huge disconnect, even though being a wolf and consequently having a mate is part of the plot.

Dominated
By Becca Jameson

This book takes place at the same time as the first one 'Tarnished'.

While escaping an overzealous suitor at the gathering of wolves hoping to find her mate Kathleen ducks into a side room and meets her fated mate. He's sexy, overwhelming, domineering, and overpowering.

After Kathleen and Gabe mate Kathleen panics and worries his dominance will overtake her true personality and who she is inside.

I liked this book even less than the first. So it will be the last I purchase of this series. There was no intriguing story to keep me interested. It was on the boring side. It ended rather abruptly as well. There was nothing about their lives together such as where they lived or where she worked, etc after they get settled in. So you're left wondering.

The book was in both Kathleen and Gabriel's POV.

Gabe kept help but keep putting his foot in his mouth when he talks to Kathleen, his mate. Kathleen doesn't know what to think of Gabe. These two need to communicate what they are both thinking. This was a good book and I kept hoping these two could work things out.

I’d really like to see more from this couple. I feel like the leading lady has just the right amount of attitude to cause this alpha some trouble. With good characters and a great storyline I really did enjoy it. A fantastic performance from Meghan as per usual.

It was funny watching Kathy fumble thru her mating when she was on Kenzie about hers. Gabriel almost lost his mate because he thought she was too young. Luckily his father set him strainght.

I did NOT give this book a low score because it was badly written. The first section is well written and entertaining, with a good pace and good character development; it's just not my kink.

Fun and sexy

Kathleen and Gabriel were fun to read. The errors that occur when they meet and the make up for those make their story interesting and cute. I voluntarily reviewed this Audiobook.

I read the first book, Tarnished. I really liked the first book and didn't think that another book would be so complicated. I was wrong. Dominated is a whole new book in itself. So I was glad that I got my hands on the second book. This one might be shorter in words but the author sure knows how to write a book and the characters just seem to click. I don't know what it is about these wolves but they need help in how to treat a lady wolf.

The author has done such a great job with her story line and built it up slowly. You could almost see yourself on the other side of the book. I was afraid I was going to be dropped fast but it became a story that just took off til the end.

Kathleen Davis goes to the Wolf Gathering and is trying to run away from a wolf saying she is his mate, she knows that isn't true as soon as she meets another wolfs eyes. He is her mate and he just doesn't go to her. He was really rude and Kathleen didn't know what she had done wrong.

Gabriel Albertson's family host the Wolf Gathering every two years. He hates when the she-wolves jump on him and say that he is their mates. So imagine his surprise when he is going to his secret place and looks into the eyes of his mate. He doesn't know why he acted the way he did. Now he has to apologize to her and show her that he really wants her.

I didn't look to see if there was going to be a third one in this series but I hope there is. I love how this author writes her books.

Dominated (Wolf gathering series)#2

The werewolves need to find mates. What better place than a gathering. So about every 2 years , there is a large gathering. All the wolves in the area come to visit with friends and family, and the singles come to find their mates. Some find mates, some find one night stands, some just go to have fun. With events for young and old, opportunities are around every corner. When Marcus decides Kathleen is his mate, he tries to force his hand. As soon as Marcus grabs her, she knows he is not her mate. So she does the only thing she can, run. Gasping for air and running from a mad wolf, she goes into a dark room, only to discover she isn't alone. She finds the strong, sexy, older man, that is her mate. Gabriel, never expected to find his mate, since he was hiding, he thought he would be safe. Fate had another plan for them, but will fear and inexperience be too much for young Kathleen?

I love the premise of a gathering to find a mate. Who doesn't love a party and sex? These are short, steamy, cute stories about people who have to adjust to situations they either didn't expect or were not looking for. Looking forward to more of the gathering stories.

I have read other books by this author in the past and have enjoyed them. However this book left me very unsatisfied on a few levels.
I felt as though the characters were not really described in any in-depth manner. I wasn’t able to connect with them at all honestly. The story itself seemed very rushed, and the ending didn’t really make any sense to me as well.
My biggest complaint about the book however, and while I don’t normally complain about things like this it is a big thing for me. I was under the impression that this was going to be a short novel, however the story stopped at 65%. It wasn’t as though it was an incomplete download, the story ended and then promo started for other books, and not all of them by this author. I really think that with the price of this book, there should have been more to it than what there was.
I have always enjoyed the books that I have read by Ms. Jameson but this one fell short for me big time. I will read more from the author in the future, and hopefully this was just a bad apple in the bunch.

Every two years the Albertson Family hosts the Wolf Gathering. While Kathleen Davis, was in attendance, she is approached by a wolf claiming to be her mate. Knowing she had no connection with the wolf, she hides from him to a nearby room simultaneously stumbling upon her real mate.

Gabriel Albertson has been avoiding the Wolf Gathering for years. While in hiding his mate happens upon his room. Gabriel was stunned that she was too young for him, thus being rude to her and offended her. Later, he discovers that Kathleen was older than she looks. Now Gabriel needs to find a way to apologies to his mate.

Dominated is a fun and entertaining story. It is a quick read that was easy to get through in one sitting. The dialog is entertaining, and the characters are likable. It is also a good example of why you should never assume anything. I always appreciate shape shifter / werewolf novels, and Dominated was a pleasurable read.

Nice second installment to this series.
Gabriel mistakenly thinks his newly met mate is only about 16 years old and as he is thirty, he totally freaks about the age difference. He manages to insult Kathleen his twenty-one year old mate, telling her to "go find your parents".
When Gabriel discovers his mistake he is in a hurry to apologise so that he can "claim" her.
Kathleen is new to sex and she is surprised by the way she response to Gabriel's dominance, so she does a bit of a runner to give herself time to think. Gabriel finds himself willing to do anything, even try "going vanilla" for her.
This is a lust then love at almost first sight kind of shifter story with BDSM elements. I found it to be a quick enjoyable read.

L'ho letto perchè ho torvato il primo capitolo in un altro libro, allora spinta dalla curiosità di sapere cosa sarebbe successo ho deciso di leggermelo tutto.
Purtroppo però non ho letto alcune cose che mi sarebbero state utili:
1. fa parte di una serie ed è il secondo libro (ma vabbè, si legge tranquillamente);
2. ha solo 71 pagine.

HA SOLO 71 PAGINE.

Quindi, mentre io aspettavo l'inizio della storia (nonostante il mio Kindle segnalasse oltre il 65%) mi sono ritrovata alla fine. THE END.

Great short story!! Like the last book, this author can really pack it in a short story without doing too much. The emotional aspects were not as developed as the last book, it mostly focused on him being a dom and her trying to understand what that means and if she can still be submissive without changing who she is for him.

The story focus mostly on sex. which was hott. like the last book the sexual tension builds up the heat. but unlike the last the H is a total alpha dom but in a sweet way. at one point he even said if his mate couldn't handle it he would try to change for her. Overall the sex was hot and detailed. some dirty talk. 4/5.

I loved this book. Loved the storyline and the characters. Gabriel a possessive, dominating alpha male who met his mate by accident. He let her go and made a big mistake. Trying to dominate her from the get go wasn't a very good plan either. Kathleen a quietly confident and stubborn woman who decided she wasn't giving into her mate, he wasn't going to order her about. But it turns out both of them are wrong and destiny doesn't work that way. It was a really great book, it had domination(just enough), humor and and two mates who were giving each other a run for their money!

Short but Sexy Read

I enjoyed this book. The storyline was not as in depth as many of the author's other books. But I did understand what she wanted to accomplish. An inexperienced woman meets her mate at the gathering. She is not just a virgin, but naive as regards non-vanilla sexual situations. Her mate on the other hand is a Dom, and a very domineering Dom at that. The book is highly erotic, and centers on two people with very different expectations.

I am not a fan of domination. It was with mixed emotions that I continued to listen to this, hoping that Kathleen would not give up her independence for the sake of a man. The thing with these stories is that we never quite know if she retains her independence or become totally controlled by her man. Is a promise enough?
I liked the fact the story takes place more or less at the same time as the first book. I liked Tarnished and the way it ended.

Pissed I paid 3.99 for this book. The length for the book is deceiving. Only 64% is the story & the rest is for an upcoming story. Lately these small publishing houses are charging way to much for their books.

This is probably a 24,000 word book. Most novels by major publishing houses are 100,000-105,000 words. Would you pay $13-$14 for a ebook?

Good.

The first book is my favorite. This one seems rushed and cut short. Kathy meets the same Marcus that others have met. Not sure why no one keeps an eye on him if he has had issues in the past. Gabe comes in too strong and scares Kathleen. Instead of staying and fighting it out she runs. He shows up talks her down and then apparently happy ever after. Huh. Ok.
