Stop Kitten Around is Book 4 in the Midlife Magic & Mystery series. Even though this book is the first one that I read in this series I don't have any problem following along the story line, thanks to the prologue that give me the background story; I really enjoy this book very much and will go back to start reading from Book 1 in the series.
After her boyfriend Chief of Police Jon Miller's car exploded and burned to the crisp with a body inside, Sea Witch Ruby Diamond and her big-mouthed, snarky feline familiar Rumpus must solve the case and catch the killer before it's too late.
This is a wonderful cozy mystery, I'm really looking forward to read more of this series.

This is an entertaining paranormal women’s fiction series. If I’m cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Ruby is a sea witch who lives in a lighthouse in a small seaside town in Connecticut. She inherited the lighthouse from aunt knuckle who passed not long ago. She live in 20 years in New York she moves back to the little town that she was raised by her aunt and uncle. As she gets reacquainted with the town and the town folk live there. Both humans and supernatural live in the town. Her boyfriend is a local police chief and happens to be a merman. Her friend is a pixie and her familiar is a large orange tabby cat with unique skills and a snarky attitude. She has an apprentice which that she is teach you how to use magic and she helps the police solve crimes in a little town. As the owner of the lighthouse she is also the guardian of a little town when it comes to supernatural happenings. Read on and be entertained as it is an entertaining and fun read.
Ruby has a mystery on her hands and a murder to solve. Chief of Police Jon Miller is presumed dead after his car exploded under mysterious circumstances. Is Jon missing or is everyone right about his death? Ruby has to investigate and find out what happened, because the charred body in the Chief’s car was either Jon or another victim who needs justice. Everywhere Ruby turns, she finds yet another suspect. This won’t be an easy task, but she won’t stop until she finds the truth about her Merman boyfriend!
This was a good read with mystery, murder, magic, and laughter interspersed with the help of her outspoken familiar, Rumpus.
Police Chief Jon appears to have been exploded along with a car bomb.
Did Ruby lose her beau in a fireball, or are things a bit more complicated?
Second and third generation offspring of witches seem immune to the spell that keeps mundanes from grasping magic, though some who have the sight but not the powers seem more than a little bit desperate
Throw in a visit to Limbo, lurking demons, demon hunters and related dimensions, friendly witches and shifters, and related chaos, a bust time is had by most in this wild and wacky book world

This book starts with a bang, and a boom, pretty much like the last book ended. Jon’s car exploded when he was getting in! I swear, I had tears in my eyes when I was reading about Ruby’s anguish. This book was great. We got to meet an old friend of Jon’s that works for the FBI, Agent RU Reddy. Yeah, it’s hard to say with a straight face. But Agent Reddy gets Ruby to help him with the investigation based on how much Jon bragged about her sleuth abilities. So, the big question, did Jon really get blown up?

This is a great book that I enjoyed reading. The story follows the life of a middle aged witch facing chaos after a car explosion that took the life of her boyfriend or so she believes... She joins forces with a FBI agent to find out what happened and make sure the culprits pay for what they've done before it's too late. Lots of emotions, adventure with a few new characters in this book... Can't wait to read more of this series.

Ruby and her familiar Rumpus are on the case of who blew up the car of Police Chief Jon, her kind of boyfriend. The action grabs you right from the start and just keeps exploding. The paranormals are causing trouble and there are so many twists and surprises. The characters are terrific, with plenty of variety. The storyline is surprising at the end. Love this group and can not wait to see what they are up to next time. Well done.

In the small town of Fiddler's Cove, Ruby is shocked when she finds out that the sound of an explosion was her boyfriend's patrol car, with a body inside - presumably said boyfriend. Together with her group of friends she tries to find the muderer and to keep herself busy to not think about his death. The story is fast-paced, has quite a few false trails and finally leads us to a - maybe - unexpected result. A fun book, entertaining, full of magic and thrill. Great story. I've been on edge since I read the last book. Reading Stop Kitten Around was very exciting and very well written. Rumpus is the most sarcastic familiar that I have ever encountered, but he is never wrong. Anyone who reads this will be very entertained.

I really enjoy this series. It's a perfect break from the drama and distress of the real world right now. A middle-aged witch, her snarky feline familiar, a merman chief of police, mystery, magic, surprises, and humor. I love the book titles, too.

One adventure Ruby is not ready for, after Police Chief Jon (her beau's) car is blown up in an explosion and now she must find out the truth. This is one that couldn't be put down till you found the answers. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another great book in this series! There’s a lot going on as she tries to find Jon, quite an adventure! I especially like Rumpus, and the underwater scenes. Great writing! Thank you for a great read!
This was a very fun book at it added in new characters and gave a deeper look into familiar ones. I was excited to see Agent Reddy in this series and hope to see a little more Hellboozer.
First Johnny Mumbles aka John Miller becomes Jon and then Ruby Rivers becomes Ruby Diamond! Why can't this author and editor even remember their protagonists' names?
