Hatch is more than happy to step up and to rescue the missing father-and-daughter archeological duo. Now if only it were that easy. They’d been questioned by the Egyptian government and released, with a warning to not leave Cairo. But, when their hotel room is found empty, most believe they took off ahead of punishment—but not Hatch’s team.

When the father’s foreman turns up dead, Hatch investigates the body-dump location and finds the daughter, weaving through the sand, ready to collapse.

Milly is shaken and grieving. During her captivity, her father dies, and she escapes, only to find herself lost in the sand dunes. She may be safe, but her father will never come home. Millie is determined to find the man responsible for her father’s death and for the information that’s changed her entire life.

Hatch works in a special department of the government and is given the mission to find Millie and her father and bring them home. His team works on black op mission where the government doesn’t want to acknowledge their involvement. Millie and her father are arrested by the Egyptian government for stealing artifacts. Once released they are kidnapped by a group who wants to steal the artifacts that were stolen. Millie is left to die in the desert. This is where Hatch comes to the rescue. His job is to keep her safe which means finding out if her father was really stealing artifacts and finding out who was behind the kidnapping. Every time Hatch and his partner get close to getting information, the person is killed before they can speak. When they arrive in London, they finally get the answers they were looking for. The book has a lot of action and of course the happily ever ending. If you like mysteries and good looking military operatives, I think you will like this book.

The Mavericks are a black ops team, all highly trained ex military personnel, working for the government, but without the constraints of the military. They work in pairs and this time it was Hatch Collar's turn to lead, his long time buddie, Corbin Wallace was to be his backup.
Millicent Bragner (Millie) and her father Marcus, both archaeologists on a dig in Egypt, had disappeared, the US government didn't want to upset the Egyptian government by sending in a full force SEAL team so it was up to the Mavericks to stealthily enter Egypt and find the pair and get them back to the US.
The locals were tight lipped and suspicious, they thought that Marcus and Millie had just walked out of the did without paying them. The Egyptian community were poor and they relied on the digs to survive.
Rumours were rife that Marcus was up to no good, was he defrauding the Egyptian government ? a loose tongued drunken conversation in a pub put both his and Millie's lives in danger, these people were powerful, the body count escalated as they cleaned up their tracks, they had Marcus and Millie in their hands, they would get the information they needed, or had they already got it ?
This book tells the story of Millie's escape and being rescued half dead by Hatch, the mistrust in the Egyptian government, the powerful people who were able to sell precious artifacts to the highest bidder, the poverty and the lengths that individuals were prepared to go to get out of it, a daughter facing the fact that her father may be the man that she had always believed in and lastly the blossoming love between Millie and Hatch.
This is a great story, Dale Mayer's description of the dark back alleys etc made it so easy to imagine what it was like there, it was lovely to see the appearance of MI6 agent Jonas appear again and I now look forward to reading Cobin's story.

Marcus Bragner and his daughter Millicent aka Millie are archaeologists on a dig in Egypt with a US grant. Her father frequently clashes with the Egyptian government and is quite outspoken. This particular habit had them arrested and questioned about something that went missing, but they were released. They hadn't been in their hotel long when they disappeared.

Killian contacts Hatch who is the next one to be in charge of a mission. He is pleasantly surprised to find his partner is one he's worked with many times before, Corbin Wallace. They arrive in Egypt and find there is no new information for them. They need to go out and track down Millicent's local friends. Hopefully one of them has some lead they can follow up on.

Millicent can't remember much more than opening the hotel room door for room service. They are now being held in some sort of updated cave. When her father returns beaten from questioning, he tells Millie they want the location of a tomb that was being discussed in a pub. He doesn't know where that is but they want him to find it and let them know first. They are an organized group of grave robbers, dangerous and asking the impossible. When her father dies thing just get worse, she is left in the desert with no supplies and no idea where she is.

Hatch and Corbin are investigating where the body of Marcus' foreman was found, then chasing after the person who was watching them, when they hear a woman calling for help.

Now that they've found her and learned of her father's death, Millie shares what she learned from her capture. That her mother was murdered for one and that her father was involved in something illegal. She has no knowledge of that, but she can't help but wonder.

There's quite a bit of intrigue and suspense as Millie, with the help of Hatch and Corbin, looks for answers. The connection between her and Hatch is obvious and leads to a bit of sizzle.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Hatch

An exciting story involving the mysterious and beautiful Egyptian pyramids and the archaeological digs surrounding them.

Hatch and his team mate, Corbin, are sent to Egypt to locate and rescue Millie and her father, Marcus, who have disappeared from their hotel. Marcus is an archaeologist, known to be a loose cannon and to cause trouble with the local Egyptian government. Millie is with him on this trip to try to keep her father out of trouble and hopefully spend more time with him.

I love how intriguing this story is. The Egyptian government can’t be trusted to ensure the discovered treasures are being handled appropriately and kept from being sold outside of Egypt. The locals are hostile towards outsiders, especially Americans, who they think are stealing their homeland’s artifacts and culture.

Hatch and Corbin discover the locals are also hostile towards them as they attempt to question various citizens regarding the whereabouts of Millie and Marcus. They soon learn that there are more clues in what is not being said as well as little tidbits they hear on the streets. I enjoy the mysterious ways in which the treasure hunters operate under a cloud of secrecy and also under the watchful eyes of the locals living within the town.

It becomes a rush for Hatch and Corbin to find out as much information as to the whereabouts of Millie and Marcus before they are killed or left to die out in the hot, merciless desert. Once Millie is discovered, Hatch is determined to find her father before they are forced to leave Egypt.

I love the numerous twists and turns that keep this story interesting with the secrets and where murder is becoming the norm. I also appreciate Millie’s determination to learn the truth behind her parents’ involvement with the Egyptian antiques and the digs they were on throughout her life. This is such a great story, one you won’t be able to put down! I loved it!

The Mavericks are asked to send an agent to Egypt to look into the disappearance of an American archeologist, Marcus, and his daughter, Millie. Both of them are currently working on a dig in Cairo. The Egyptians are investigating him for stealing some of the artifacts from his digs. Plus, Marcus has made many enemies in Egypt due to his constant loud- criticism of the way the Egyptian government deals with found artifacts. Based on these facts, The Mavericks send Hatch and his partner to Egypt to find Marcus and Millie and send them home.

The first half of this book is unbelievably realistic. Marcus and Millie have been kidnapped and are being held in some sort of dark cave. They are given very little food and water. At one point, Marcus is severely beaten. Unfortunately, Millie has no idea what is going on. She knows her father has made enemies, but she doesn’t know what they want from them.

Dale Mayer so skillfully communicates Millie’s emotions that the reader can almost feel them. She is afraid, confused and unsure of what the kidnappers will do to her and her father. She also has mixed emotions about her father. She blames him because he is constantly drunk. Therefore, he often speaks his mind to everyone about his dislike of the Egyptian government. He has made many enemies since he has been on this dig, but Millie still loves him.

In the second half of the book, Millie refuses to go home after she is freed. She insists that her rescuers, Hatch and his partner, find her captors and arrest them. She is afraid that they will come after her and capture her again.

Unfortunately, Millie has some residual effects from her captivity. She has very little energy, and she is constantly hungry, thirsty and tired. She also displays signs of PTSD. Hatch does a wonderful job of helping Millie through her first days by comforting her with his gentleness and warmth.

This book will captivate every romantic suspense fan with its nonstop action and suspense.

Hatch is happy to go and rescue the father and daughter archaeological duo, Marcus and Milly, after they disappeared after being questioned by the Egyptian government and were then released. Most people assumed they has skipped town leaving their belongings in the hotel room but the Mavericks believe that they have been taken. When the father's foreman is found dead Hatch goes out to investigate the body-dump location only to find the missing daughter Milly ready to collapse out on the sand. She is shaken and grieving as her father had died during their captivity and so as much as she is now safe he is never coming home with her. Determined to find the man who is responsible for his death and for more information on revelations that have changed her entire life. Can Hatch help find answers and answer her outstanding questions?

This was certainly a mystery woven into a story around the discoveries made in the pyramids of Egypt. I loved the layers of the story and the fact that it went back 10 years to find a start to the problems that manifested themselves in their abduction. As is often the root of problems, greed played a major part in both the preventative measures and the abduction reasons. I loved the way that Hatch was a strong and stable influence in her life and was there for her to lean on and take support whenever she needed it. It was definitely a foregone conclusion that they would become more to each other by the end. Easy to read and understand. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

The next Maverick, Hatch, gets his chance to lead an op and find the “one” for him. He is tasked going to Egypt with Corbin to locate an archeologist and his daughter who are missing after having a run in with the local Gov’t. All leads point to them being kidnapped and not leaving the country on their on free will and Hatch follows all leads when he starts investigating. Millie wakes up in a cave of sorts with her father who is beaten for information that he refuses to give. She has no idea what the men want and why they were targeted. During their captivity she learns more about her father and his past, and it’s not looking good. When Millie gets free, she wanders the desert searching for help, luckily she runs right into Hatch and Corbin and the three of them hunker down to figure out the mystery of her dad and if the allegations are true.
A great read with a bit of steam, suspense, twists and turns, surprises and great characters. I liked the no drama between them, the connection and how the story flowed. Can’t wait for the next one, Corbin’s story.

Hatch by Dale Mayer
Mavericks Series Book Sixteen
Hatch Collar has his chance to run a team…and get the girl…as he heads to Egypt. An old friend from the navy is his partner on this one, Corbin. A father and daughter archeologist team has gone missing. Hatch had heard the daughter speak before, so he had a connection. Leads were slow in coming, but they’d find them. That had to.
Millicent “Millie” Bragner was disappointed in her father. Ever since her mother’s death ten years ago, her dad hits the bottle way too often. Sadly, when he does, his mouth takes over and he gets in trouble. Unfortunately, this time, she’s in trouble too. They’ve been taken prisoner, and she has no idea why. What’s worse, her captor told her things that would flip her world over if they were true.
There are eyes everywhere in an area where information is bought and sold, and no one wants to talk to strangers…Hatch and Corbin’s job won’t be easy, but that’s never stopped them before. Plus, they have the Mavericks network behind them. Another page-turning story.
**Mild sexual content and language

Black ops, mystery, romance.

Former Navy Seals are part of an elite organization that doesn't have restrictions like the Navy. They do the same thing but have more leeway to get the job done. Two-man teams get an assignment to rescue victims. Each story lead finds romance/partner.

Interesting story. You and your father get kidnapped. They kill your father for information. Then you manage to escape and get rescued. Hatch is diligent after rescuing the victim and keeping her safe. Who were the kidnappers working for? Was her father a traitor? And finding out your mother had been murdered, not had gotten sick and died as what she had been told, and your father didn't tell you. Twists and turns keep the story interesting.

The men all sound the same, with the same values in life, who want justice for the victims and to make the world a better place to live. There will always be evil people in the world. Their jobs will never end in the fight against evil.

Corbin says there is a "gorgeous chick" involved and Hatch has decided it's his turn to get the girl. Millie just might fit the bill. However, before that is decided there is an adventure in Egypt to be had to see if that can happen. An archaeologist and his daughter are feared to be missing. The locals are stating they are not missing but rather left town voluntarily. So the story begins and follows with interesting sometimes scary individuals with Hatch and Corbin trying to keep Millie safe and get to the bottom of why everyone is so secretive and hostile. Interesting story line with equally interesting players keeping the reader busy trying to figure out some answers. Another winner in the Mavericks series, #16 to be exact. I really enjoyed this book and am excited about #17 which will be Corbin's story.

Loved that parts of Egypt seemed so vivid. The walking out and pyramids to one side and new modern technology to the other. What a trip that must be. Hatch and Corbin are sent to Egypt to locate an archeologist and his daughter. There are eyes everywhere, questions and no answers. Millie and her farther are held captive, she doesn't understand why or what they want. Her father loses his life after confirming shocking news, but still leaving unanswered questions. When she escapes, or finds her freedom Hatch too the rescue. They are one step in front of the criminals as they search for answers, answers that are not forthcoming. Suspense, mystery with some interesting tidbits on the archeologists and just what is happening in the world today. The rumor hold true and this is Hatchs time to find the with Millie. Thank you for arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

TW//CW brutality, death, kidnapping, murder, violence

A 3.5 stars suspense read.

This one is a rescue mission of two archaeologists, a father and his daughter, that disappeared in Egypt. This mission lead by Hatch. Like the previous books, I can really predict the romance part in this book, which it will meant that Hatch will find his love here. Not a big fan of insta-love so I can't feel their sparks. Aside from that though, I enjoy the mystery part, the fast-paced searching for clue and finding out what's the motive behind the kidnapping and love that the setting is in the digs site in Egypt, archaeological excavation always fascinates me. Even though there are some actions at the end, the conclusion a bit dissapointed for me, it felt too easy for me. Overall, it's a fun fast-paced romantic suspense read, I quite enjoyed it .

The dynamic between Millie and her Dad is definitely more the other way around with her having to keep him in line and it's sad that the bottle means more to him than building a better relationship with her as well as stopping himself from making a fool and now getting them in danger. Fortunately Hatch and Corbin are there to find her as well as help her get to the bottom of who was behind the kidnapping and unfortunately unearthing a brutal truth about her Mum as well as what else her Dad has been involved in over the years. The pace is great as well as answers slowly coming to light along with some good twists, too many bad guys to count and Hutch embracing and not shying away from being the next man matched!

3.5 stars. Not a fan of instant love which is jokingly referred to when Hatch and Corbin chat about what their task is. Once again Hatch and Millie's relationship is more visible to Corbin his partner rather than me the reader. I did not quite see or rather feel the chemistry between the two. At times Millie's thought process was a little difficult to feel at one with. I enjoyed the action, the mystery, the drama and the suspense. Egypt, the pyramids and the archaeological digs is the setting for this story and the fast paced clue finding is attractive. Once all the drama is over then it's a quick let's get to know one another better. Not withstanding that you know you want to keep reading because you do want to know how the book ends. When it's finished it's just good that all is well and ends well including both the hero and heroine.

Hatch and Corbin are off to Egypt to rescue archeologist Marcus and his daughter Millie. Millie and Marcus had just been released by the Egyptian government when they were kidnapped by another group. Kept under rough conditions, Millie is concerned about her father. Hatch and Corbin will have to work hard to find them. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I really like this romantic suspense mystery. This story focuses on more than the rescue because Marcus has secrets. I like how Millie was a strong caring woman who had to deal with a lot. I also like how caring and supportive that Hatch was with Millie after she escaped. This is a very good suspenseful story.

Hatch Collar is looking for missing Archaeologists Marcus, and his daughter Millie. The father and daughter team have been abducted, and Hatch along with Corbin need to find them. Marcus is being treated like a thief, and poor Millie doesn't know who to believe. Is her Dad really nothing more than a common thief.
Millie's dad has been known to get drunk in pubs, and then babble incoherently. Has he put them both at risk with his drunken ramblings..
Hatch is protective, and compassionate with Millie, but even he has doubts about her father's innocence.
Page after page of nonstop reading.. I was bleary eyed after an overnight binge style read. No putting this book down until I finished it.
Another suspenseful read in The Mavericks series.

Milly and her father’s participation in an archeological dig in Egypt takes a dangerous turn as not only do they find themselves under suspicion, but they are also abducted from their hotel room. Things go from bad to worse when they can’t give the kidnappers what they want and Milly is alone, hurt and stranded in the desert until Hatch comes to her rescue.

When Killian arrives he isn’t sure if Milly and her father have been met with foul play or left of their own accord but it soon becomes apparent they didn’t leave by choice. He finds himself working with Milly as they try to uncover who was behind the threats and why and uncover some secrets in her past as well.

Milly and Killian take us on an action-packed adventure as they not only find answers but love as well.

Hatch

When Hatch and Corbin are assigned to find missing archeologists father and daughter, they end up in Egypt. After the father has died the daughter manages to escape but has no idea where she is and just starts running and walking away from where she was. Hatch finds her in the desert and he and Corbin get her back to civilization, but who is responsible and can they find them before it's too late?
Seems all the Mavericks on missions before them have found their one and only during the rescue, will the same happen for Hatch or are he and Millie just too different and live too far apart? To say nothing of the fact that one or all may not make it back to the States alive!

Hatch and Corbin are sent to Egypt to find a missing archaeologist and his daughter Millie. They went missing from their hotel rooms but left everything behind so it is assumed that they were taken against their will. Millie and her father have been held prisoners in a cave while their captors try to get information from her father. Millie has no idea what information they are looking for but knows that her father gets drunk and spout off about the Egyptian government and makes remarks about items on other digs.

Millie’s life is turned upside down when she and her father are kidnapped. She doesn’t have time to talk to him about the things her kidnapper reveals before he is killed and she is left for dead. Hatch find Millie and helps her unravel the mess her father left behind while offering comfort and keeping her safe. The two have an instant connection that is easy to see. Interesting story taking place in Egypt. When Milly and her father are kidnapped, the government gets involved and sends Hatch to investigate and Corbin goes with him. It's good to have some gumption, but Milly needs to understand the danger she's in once she escapes. Hatch is being supportive, but patience only goes so far. They are on a wild ride to find out the truth. Can't wait for Corbin and where his trip is going to take him. HEA. This story takes place mostly in Egypt where an archaeologist and his daughter were taken off their dig site and taken in by government agents for questioning. They were sent back to their hotel and were told to stay there and they would be contacted. Marcus and his daughter Millie disappeared from there.

Hatch is given the assignment to find them and bring them to the US. He has no idea if they left on their own or were taken. A really intriguing mystery with surprising results.

I have been enjoying this series and this book is no exception.

Hatch is on assignment in Egypt to try and find Marcus and Millie (father/daughter) archaeologists who have disappeared after being questioned by the Egyptian government. Marcus is a known loud mouth and his daughter often deals with the fall out from her father's actions. Many of the locals believe they took off without paying for services rendered by the townspeople.

Can Hatch and his partner for this mission, Corbin, find out what happened to them and rescue them alive and well before it's too late? Read and find out!

This latest Mavericks story takes Hatch and Corbin to Cairo, Egypt to find an archeologist and his daughter who have gone missing. The father is known for ranting against governments so it's unclear if they have anything to do with their disappearance. What Hatch and Corbin find is that there are many people spying on what they are doing. As they follow the slim leads there is plenty of action and suspense, even after they manage to find Millie and search for answers as to who killed her father.

The Mavericks are an Ops team trying to rid the world of evil. Hatch and Corbin head for Egypt after the disappearance of an archeologist and his daughter. Hard to tell who are the bad guys when corruption is abundant in the government and authorities.
Millie was left for dead, as the guys found her the race was on to keep her and themselves alive. What was the reason for the kidnapping and what didn't she know about her own father?
Great action packed story, I really love this team and look forward to the next one in the series.

I love the Mavericks series and Hatch is a perfect addition to this covert black ops team when he goes to Egypt to rescue a missing father and daughter archeological duo. Another case, another love story. This time a daughter gets caught up in her Father's business and find s out more truths. Her father is killed, the killer has ties to her mother's death which is not how she remembers it. Moving forward to clear her father name Millie has to face he was not the man she thought he was. With Hatch at her side Millie grows and find love. A lovely story, a pager turner, love this story.
