4☆ A Magical Fairy Adventure!

Aziza's Secret Fairy Door is a fun, magical adventure into the secret world of fairies and other magical creatures.

Aziza was sent a mysterious package for her birthday and inside was a fairy Door that Aziza was to decoraye herself.

Once decorated the instructions were to put it up against a tree and a Fairy shall appear. But Aziza lives in a flat and doesn't have a tree or a garden so she improvised and put it up against her peace lily plant. Hoping it would work.

Eventually as she sleeps, strange things start to happen and she finds herself walking through the magical Fairy Door.
But I wonder what she will find?
Will she still love fairies as much as she did before or will she change her mind. When she meets Kendra, Noon and Felly aka the mischievous Gigglers.
Will she ever make it back home after Kendra destroyed the fairy door sealing it tight shut!
Can ‘Princess Peri' and Tiko help her escape Shimmerton?

I loved this sweet children's book, it was a fun, endearing and a magical adventure.
It teaches children to Be Kind, Don't Steal, Always get Permission before taking things, Problem Solving, Never Giving Up, and to Work Together.
There are some illustrations that were beautifully presented, I'm not sure if it was just my copy but the illustrations wasn't in colour so therefore for me lacked that Sparkle you grow to love with magical books. It didn't stop me enjoying it though.

Aziza's Secret Fairy Door is a nice quick read and would make a lovely gift for children aged 5-8years or a Special Bedtime Story. This is the first instalment in a new series and I'm excited for the next one. I do hope it will be back visiting Shimmerton!

Thank you to Macmillan Children's Books and Netgalley for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

We've just finished this brilliant chapter book about a magical toy world!
Aziza loves fairies so she is excited when she is mysteriously given a fairy door with a note. She steps through and is transported to Shimmerton, a magical world with fairy princesses, shapeshifters and unicorn shopkeepers. Unfortunately for Aziza there is a group of naughty fairies called 'The Gigglers' who steal her doorknob. Will Aziza get it back or will she be trapped in the new world forever?
My daughter loved this book! The idea of a magical world that can be secretly visited at night really sparked her imagination. We loved Tiko the transforming bear and Peri the princess! Such great characters. We raced through the book as we wanted to see if Aziza would catch up with the Gigglers and get her door knob back.
My daughter is just 7 and this was perfect for her. She loved the black and white illustrations throughout too. We can't wait for the next book in this new fantastic series!

Thank you so much to Macmillan children’s books for the ebook to read and review.

Aziza makes a pretty fairy door and gets transported to the fairy realm, making new friends, she comes across three mischievous fairies and has to teach them a lesson on being good.

This story is really cute, little Aziza (what an adorable name) dreams of meeting fairies and gets her dream come true, but finds not all fairies are polite and lovely. I really loved the friendship she makes with Peri and Tiko. I also really loved that she wanted to make sure that the mischievous giggles understood what they were doing wrong.

This book had really pretty illustrations, was so beautifully diverse, it had lots of interesting mythology within it, had sweet characters and some not so sweet. This book is perfect for the young fairy lovers in your life, it will take them to a whole different type of fairy world that they’ll really enjoy.

I think this book will be great fun for children, making a magic door in your bedroom that leads to a fairy world is the dream.

There's some jokes in here for the parents that read it with their kids, like the Elf and Safety Officer.

I like that there were adults in this story that wouldn't believe the naughty fairies were up to no good despite how much they were misbehaving because they were 'good girls', there are definitely times growing up where you realise adults are blind to things and don't believe you because they think they know best.

This is another great children's book with a strong moral code, the main character knows that stealing is wrong and confronts the bad characters despite the adults not believing her. I'm definitely going to read this to my niece.

This is a lovely children's book and would suit children from 5-8.

It is about a young girl who loves fairies and is given the chance to meet them through a secret magic fairy door.

The story takes her into a fairy realm full of exciting shimmery fantastical people, unicorns, bears, rabbits with horns and more. It looks at the themes of working together, friendship, stealing, asking permission and earning respect. It has some great topics for discussion with children.

It is the start of a series and there will be more mysteries to solve in the Fairy Land of Shimmerton. I can see many children enjoying these tales.

A lovely book that takes us with Aziza on her adventures through the fairy door and into the fairy land of Shimmerton with all its magical and mythical residents.

I bought this to read with/to my niece (5) and we both really enjoyed the story, would recommend. We’re looking forward to discovering more of Shimmerton in book 2!

Quite enjoyed this though one illustration didn't fit with the story. The unicorn, Mr. Bracken, in the text is supposed to be wearing a tank top but the illustration shows him wearing a shirt with a pullover. I actually prefer the illustration to the text as I don't think Mr. Bracken would wear a tank top.
