Here are the superstars of the story of life, from the super-weird to the super-ferocious. Usually a species has 10 million years or so of evolving, eating, chasing, playing, maybe doing homework, or even going to the moon before it goes extinct. Dunkleosteus was super-snappy. With a bite 10 times stronger than a great white shark, it could snap its jaws 5 times faster than you can blink! Discover its habitat, what it ate and what it was like to live in the shadow of this one-tonne predator until it went extinct at the end of the Age of Fishes. Collect all eight books about animals we have lost in mass extinctions caused by asteroids or mega-volcanoes, clashing continents and climate change. Also
* Past brought to full-colour life by palaeoartist Gabriel Ugueto
* Ask an Expert contributions from leading scientists

Excellent book, second in the series, about a large extinct predatory fish

Excellent and informative book about Dunkleosteus, an extinct placoderm that hunted in the oceans long before dinosaurs evolved. This is the second book of the Extinct series and it is an excellent series for anyone interested in the earth, nature and/or Paleontology. The books are written by Dr. Ben Garrod and illustrated by Gabriel Ugueto and I loved reading every book in the series. I learned a lot and the illustrations were fantastic. This book, and this series of books, is superb and enjoyable for anyone interested in prehistoric life, extinction, paleontology, life science and/or paleoart.
