Blackmailing Mr. Bossman

Rate this book
To save my best friend’s husband, all I have to do is blackmail a billionaire.

My friend’s husband was abducted by a gang of white-collar criminals. These guys are bad, and they want her to spy on her boss—a man who owns half of New York. She’s falling apart and she needs my help.

My name’s Aspen. I’m a private investigator, and I’m usually doing surveillance on cheating spouses or insurance scammers, but now I’m going undercover.

I’m trading my jeans for skirts, and playing assistant at Kensington Group so I can get up close and personal with Liam Kensington—the owner of a multibillion-dollar construction and property empire.

Not to mention a tall, lean, golden-haired god with a sexy British accent.

The white-collar thieves have Liam in their sights and in return for my friend’s husband, they want me to blackmail a billionaire. Aw, hell.

But I didn’t count on how Liam would make me feel, or my crazy need to keep him safe, or our incendiary attraction.

Now I have to save a man’s life, catch some bad guys, and stop myself from falling in love with a billionaire who’s way out of my league.

Blackmailing Mr. Bossman is the second wonderful book in the Billionaire Heists. Another great story from Anna. It is full of action, mystery, intrigue and so much more. With an alpha male and a sassy PI, it will delight the senses. He is bored and wants a woman who doesn't want his money so when a woman brings this male to his knees he won't let her go but he now has to convince her. I can’t wait for the next book.

Blackmailing Mr. Bossman is the second book in the Billionaire Heists series. This is a story that brings so much fun and thrills to the table. I absolutely adored the way that this author delivered with this one here. I really had such a fun time, and it was so fun getting back to these characters and most especially the trio of male friends. I just love how they back each other up and have such a strong bond to each other.

Blackmailing Mr. Bossman, introduces our heroine, who is a private investigator. Her friends comes to her for help when her husband is kidnapped and in return their job is to blackmail, CEO Liam. Liam is a powerful CEO, but came into his own so he could independent from his controlling father. He has yet to find a woman that sees him more than a checkbook. But then he meets Aspen, where an instant connection forms between them. But when the truths comes out on Aspen's true motives, they have to work on rebuilding trust, but as the danger increases, so does the intimacy of their relationship.

Blackmailing Mr. Bossman was such a delightful read, and I had such a blast with this installment. It did start out a bit slower, in comparison to how quickly the first book engaged me, however, once I was into it I had a hard time putting this one down. I became so endeared by both characters here, I just adored every element of this story and everything that comes together in this one. I really enjoyed the way that the author wrote this one and the mysterious plot was so fascinating. I am definitely eager to get to the third book and the grumpy billionaire who avoids relationships.

Man I’m struggling with this series. Billionaires are annoying. Women who come from literally any walk of life are just as equal and worthy of falling in love with rich assholes as rich women.

Also- this is a very minor point of the book and I’m seriously pissed about it. So Liams dad is photographed having sex with a group of underage girls and that’s the blackmail material. And literally nothing happens to him? He’s a rapist and they’re satisfied with “oh you suck bro thank god Liam is better than you.” Like these guys apparently have everything at their disposal and they do nothing to help these underage girls or to bring an abusive rapist to justice. Just yuck!

ALSO! Now in this book we don’t just have every adult business person recognize rich dudes face immediately! Now we have two 19 college students and kids recognize him on sight! How? Again I can’t name a single person who owns a business besides like the main 3. So are Zane, Liam, and Mac supposed to be Zuckerburg, Musk and Bezos?? Because honestly we eat the rich.

Hackett you are capable of such good books! Why are we fawning over rich assholes who don’t do any good in the world (besides a sentence of “you donate so much money and give hundred dollar bills to street urchins heart eyes??” Be better!!

Again a good read in this series.
I enjoyed the writing style and it was a quick read.
Aspen and Liam are great together. They are both intelligent and know what they want. Each of them has their own family problems and they work hard to be better persons. They have good tension and I liked reading their dialogue.
We got to meet Monroe and Zane again as well as Maverick. I‘m curious about Mavericks book and can‘t wait to read it (btw I will do it know, just downloaded it).
The plot was thrilling and well thought out.
There were little things I don’t like but overall I enjoyed reading and had a great time.

Well it might start out as blackmail but it definitely ends with love ! Obviously I expect nothing less from this author but I certainly enjoyed the journey this couple went on. Aspen is a private detective trying to help her friend when she gets involved with a gang determined to blackmail Liam , a very successful businessman in Manhattan. Liam finds himself beyond intruiged by his latest employee who seems to see him as a man and not just a bank balance. Trouble is Aspen hasn't quite been truthful with him but realising that is just the start of getting to know the real Aspen because they are both pulled into a dangerous hunt !
I'm not a huge fan of contemporary romance but I really enjoyed the story here. I wasn't particularly enamoured by the phrase white collar gang and thought gang would have been sufficient but apart from that niggle I found this to be an engaging story. If you enjoy suspense along with steamy romance then I feel this book and indeed series will certainly suit you. I particularly enjoyed the way Aspen protected Liam even though at times he was bamboozled by her. Yes there's definitely humour running throughout this story which rounded put the characters quite nicely. There's still one more batchelor to find his happy ever after and a plus for me was seeing characters from connecting series pop up. This was another solid story from this author and leaves this reader smiling.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

It's Liam's turn to fall hard and fast and I am SO here for it. That said, Aspen/Penn's situation does not make things easy for our dude and they have to work through some big misconceptions before they can do their HEA thing.

But but but, Aspen and Liam and crazy drawn to one another before they work things out. Which kind of makes things a little awkward when Liam thinks Aspen's a lying liar who lies. Because, you know, he's still thinking about getting in her pants and he doesn't like wanting someone who could be so mercenary as to try to blackmail him.

Then he finds out the truth and it's a whole other ball game. Because once the blackmailing façade is peeled away, Aspen is a fantastic person with a good heart and VERY good intentions. She just had to play the bad guy to get where she needed to be.

Which worked out nicely for Liam because she ended up in his life and his bed and RAWR!

Am I enjoying these billionaires and their topsy-turvy romances? INDEED I AM. Let's see what's in store for Maverick next!

I am not a fan of billionaire contemporary romances or books with 1st POV but this autor somehow manages to write it and it works.
While in a way it is hardly an original story, bored billionaire falls in love with a mysterious woman who doesn't seem to want him, some trouble they need to solve and it is a HEA. So what makes this different?
First, the heronie is written not as a helpless girl but a woman with her own life, not depending on anything else. I actually like her more thanthe hero.
Secondly, the story is entertaining and has a fast path, no scenes written for the sake of it, no swooning and no drama which is so normal now in contemporay romances.
Third - a good mystery with a plot which is thought through. It even brings a tiny crossover to an old favourite from Treasure Hunter Security.
I prefer the author's military/action books though. They are better than the Norcross ones, at least the female characters.

This book is fun, flirty and a little dirty. Anna Hackett wrote a sexy slow burn mystery romance with a great mix of teasing tension, enticing fun-filled dialogue, thrilling action and suspenseful twists and turns.

Love a book with an intelligent, fierce, kick ass sexy heroine. Aspen Chandler is a private investigator, focused and out to get the job done but does get herself unexpectedly distracted when she goes undercover to blackmail her billionaire boss, who happens to be strikingly beautiful and quite charming too. Liam Kensington is a focused smart businessman with women lying at his feet but when Aspen catches his attention, he feels an instant pull and is intrigued by his strong willed, sassy employee. Although will he still feel the same once he knows what she´s up to? Liam and Aspen have such a fun sizzling chemistry underlined by their playful back and forth banter. On top of that, they seem to find themselves in partly amusing but delicate situations quite often.

Witty, entertaining, action-packed performances by Shane East and Lucy Rivers. I just love listening to Lucy Rivers as the way she uses her voice to imitate different characters is brilliant. And, well, not to mention another stellar performance by Shane East who is charming the pants of listeners with his smooth British accent and sexy charming billionaires’ performance. Music to my ears!

I was looking for something a bit lighter than yesterday’s book. You know, something with not quite so many deaths and dismemberments. Or at least not so many gruesome descriptions of the dismemberments. Fictional deaths, if they’re of the right people, aren’t so bad.

There are certainly more than a few people who need to die – or at least be removed from their ability to make trouble one way or another (and possibly from the gene pool), in the Billionaire Heists series. Not to mention, the billionaires are gorgeous, the women who manage to win their hearts have plenty of moxie and especially agency, and there’s always a happy ever after waiting in the wings.

After evil gets its just desserts, of course.

In the first book in this series, Stealing from Mr. Rich, the first of the “Billionaire Bachelors” found himself falling for a woman who set out to rob him blind. Not that Monroe O’Connor actually wanted to steal anything from Zane Roth, except possibly his heart. But Monroe was in over her head with some really evil dudes who had kidnapped her way-more-immature-than-he-thinks-he-is younger brother, and, well, needs must because the devil is certainly driving.

The situation in Blackmailing Mr. Bossman does have some familiar vibes from that first story, and not just because Zane and Liam Kensington, the titular Mr. Bossman, are besties. Or would be if billionaires would be caught dead using that term.

Like Monroe in that first story, Aspen Chandler has no desire of her own to blackmail Liam Kensington – not that he doesn’t spark plenty of other desires in Aspen and every other straight woman with a pulse in New York City.

Aspen is a licensed private investigator. She’s working on behalf of a client – one of her own best friends – who happens to work at Liam’s megacorp headquarters. Her friend’s husband has been kidnapped, and his “ransom” is delivering the blackmail material to Liam. A task that Aspen has taken over on her behalf in the hopes of finding a way to take down the bad guys behind this mess.

But she has to go through with the blackmail in order to get all the goods on everyone involved. Or, at least she thinks she does. So she goes undercover at Kensington Group in order to get close to Liam and let the real blackmailers believe she’s on their side and under their thumb.

And that’s where everything starts to go very, very wrong – at least as far as Aspen’s ability to keep her work compartmentalized from her heart. It’s also where things start to go very, very right for the possibility that the P.I. and the billionaire might have a chance at an HEA.

They just have to survive a crazy mobster first. Make that two crazy mobsters, one in the here and now, and one reaching from beyond the grave with his hands full of diamonds.

Escape Rating A-: I have to admit that I’m not all that crazy about the cover of this book, and I kind of hate the title – but I really LOVED the story. So definitely don’t judge this book by anything you see on its cover except the author’s name. Because Anna Hackett delivers and this one is definitely no exception.

I’m really loving this Billionaire Heists series quite a lot after merely liking a couple of the Norcross Security series – although there was one book in that series (The Specialist) that I absolutely adored. For a good reading time call Anna.

The thing about this series in particular is that the women are all very, very good at taking care of themselves, thankyouverymuch. Neither Monroe nor Aspen ever needs to be rescued by their billionaires. It’s not just that they are in control of their own lives before their current problem landed in their laps, it’s that they are working the problem that has landed in their laps – and doing a damn good job at it.

Where Aspen doesn’t so much fall down on the job as change her plans for the job is that she can’t continue the undercover aspects of the mess once both hers and Liam’s emotions get involved. Once she stops pretending to be either a PR assistant or a blackmailer, their working relationship becomes fairly equal, and that’s something I always like to see in a romance, because relationships that are not equal don’t work in the long run.

The inequality in their relationship, and there certainly is quite a bit, can be set aside if they’re both willing to work at it, and that’s where the push-pull tension comes into play fairly realistically for a story that has a high quotient of real-world-type-fantasy mixed in. Liam is, after all, a multi-billionaire, as are his friends. Aspen works hard to support herself, her twin sisters and her mother. She’s doing okay most of the time, but Liam is in a whole other stratosphere.

Aspen’s certain that the gap can’t be bridged, while Liam is certain that it can. They’re the best thing that ever happened to each other, if they can just manage to hang on to what they’ve almost got.

The case that brings them together is a scream. Both in the sense that Liam, Aspen and the reader all want to scream at Liam’s douchebag father who is the real target of the blackmail. There aren’t words for how vile he is. The ransom is an even bigger scream, in the sense that it’s fascinating and historical and, in the end, plenty scary. It reaches all the way back to Prohibition and features a dilapidated warehouse, a notorious gangster and a too-well-hidden cache of priceless gems.

All in all, I had a terrifically good reading time with this one, and I can’t wait for the final book in this trilogy, when the last billionaire bachelor takes his fall in Hacking Mr. CEO, coming in late July to a kindle near you. Or rather definitely, to an iPad near me!

This second Billionaire's Heist book, Blackmailing Mr Boss, was equally as entertaining as the first. Aspen Chandler is a caretaker. She helps her family, her friends and her clients the best way she can. Even if it means she puts herself in harm's way. Liam Kensington may be uber wealthy and drop dead gorgeous but behind the scenes he deals with family troubles that wear on him. Undoubtedly finding out that the woman he's completely enamored with is trying to blackmail him certainly doesn't sit well. But, he didn't get where he by not being persistent. Finally forcing the truth from Aspen sets them on a course to discover and dismantle a legendary white collar crime gang with ulterior motives. Vander Norcross works his magic, finding the who what and where. Things go from dicey to downright perilous but in the long run that danger is what concinces Aspen that Liam is her future.

Series: Billionaire Heists #2
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

When her friend's husband gets abducted by a gang of white-collar criminals, Private Investigator Aspen finds herself going undercover as an assistant at the Kensington Group to get closer to the owner Liam.

This was another wonderful billionaire heist book! Liam and Aspen hit it off instantly and you could just feel the steam coming off of them! Aspen was a heroine that I instantly loved. She is smart, protective, and dedicated to her job as a private investigator. I loved her strength and that she took care of her sisters. She was just a very compassionate woman with a drive to help people. She didn’t like deceiving Liam but she does it because it is her job.

Liam was an arrogant, protective, and smart businessman. He instantly wants Aspen but she keeps him at arm's length, which just makes him want her more. I liked Liam and his determination to protect his family. I didn’t like how far he would go to protect his mother and step siblings though. He should have reported his father because he is a predator.

I really enjoyed the progression of the hunt to find the blackmailers and what they were after. It really brought these two together and showed them to embrace the feelings they were having because life isn’t guaranteed. Overall, I enjoyed these two’s steamy and intense relationship. I can’t wait for the next book because Mav sounds like a fascinating man.

I can’t believe this ending—utter garbage.

Is this book ending a joke? Did they really let a child molester, a pedophile, get away with sexually abusing young girls? What is wrong with the author for thinking that’s fair and the actual characters for thinking that’s okay? Who cares if your family will be shamed or embarrassed? Those girls deserve justice and that monster deserves every moment he will serve for his crimes.

Undercover

PI and fierce. Aspen has some family baggage in her past, but her present is working to help others and being a wonderful sister. Liam is super rich and sick of his family drama with his dad. The two meet and then their journey to an HEA and to find the orchestrator of the blackmail is on! The writing is engaging and the story fun and descriptive. A great blend of romance, humor and intrigue. Vandor made a quick appearance and so did Boone. Loved the story and can’t wait to see what Mav finds himself in for his journey to an HEA.

So, there’s these three hot and sexy guys who got to know each other in college and now they each have their own businesses and are billionaires. That’s the basic premise of the series Billionaire Heists by Anna Hackett. Book one was released earlier this year in May and book two was just released this month.

In the continuation of the series, Blackmailing Mr. Bossman, we focus on Liam Kensington and Aspen. They both have emotional baggage from the past that they still carry with them and are trying to overcome/deal with. This baggage definitely comes to the fore in this story for both Liam and Aspen, with some devastating revelations for both of them, but also some closure.

I love the cross over into other series – here we venture over into the Norcross series and also the Treasure Hunter series, with various characters showing up. I also love the comradery between the three guys – Liam, Maverick and Zane. They have each other’s backs and they stick together, support and look out for each other and welcome their women into the fold when they do meet them – mind you it might take some longer to accept them than others!

Aspen is a private investigator who is juggling her work and supporting her younger sisters and flaky mother while also trying to be a good friend. She’s such a good friend that she gets herself hired at the Kensington Group as a PA, going undercover so that the people who have kidnapped her friends husband deal directly with Aspen who is much more capable, given her skills as a PI. This manages to happen extremely quickly and very easily I might add, given these days hiring take weeks if not months to sometimes finalize, but hey, it’s a story so I’ll go with it. So, she’s undercover and now she has to blackmail her boss. How is this going to go down? What do the thieves want and how can Aspen work to save her friends husband and also protect Liam at the same time?

I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story – this is what Anna Hackett is really good at, bringing the mystery into a story and making it extremely riveting. It was intriguing and I enjoyed following the various leads and seeing what it finally led them to.

I enjoyed both characters - they are a hot and sexy couple and they really worked well together. I loved Aspen particularly because she stuck up for Liam to his father and the way in which she did it. She wasn’t swayed by Liam’s money either because she knew that it was easy to lose and that your worth wasn’t based on your wealth – taking Liam’s dad as a classic example. Liam was hot and sexy but also a great guy, even though his family situation left a lot to be desired. His father is a real piece of work and you could understand why he distanced himself from his father and wanted nothing to do with him.

What I again didn’t like was the split of Aspen’s voice in the first person and Liam’s in the third person. I still don’t understand why it was done (it was done this way in book one as well) and it was extremely disconcerting to go back and forth. I usually prefer books in the third person. I will read books in the first person, but this back and forth just didn’t add to my enjoyment of the story at all. In my opinion it really doesn’t add anything to the telling of the story or to the understanding of the characters, so for me this device was pointless. I’m guessing that Mav’s story will follow suit but I sure hope it doesn’t become a trend for future books.

This was a great read and if you want to know what happens to Liam and Aspen and find out what the big mystery was, then you’ll have to read Blackmailing Mr. Bossman!

Okay, so these 2 stars are given solely to Shane East and Lucy Rivers who narrated this audiobook. I hope they got paid well for this one because I have quite a doozy of a review to give.

Let's talk about what I liked - I found that I didn't mind the female protagonist Aspen, which let's be honest is a step up from most of the staple female leads we tend to get nowadays. She was strong and independent. But I truly believe that if we didn't have the bits of vulnerability and moments of respite with her twin sisters I may have viewed her as more of a one-dimensional character. I also didn't mind the male protagonist, he was very generic but I suppose it's the standard for romance novels with tropes such as this. At least there were shining moments of them having some enjoyable banter.

Now let's talk about my problems- I would like to believe that romances such as these, which explore the popular boss, office relationship, happily ever after trope would be able to conclude nicely with a pretty bow on it. And by that, I mean all or majority of the conflict or problems within the book would be resolved by the end. However, this book chooses to focus on the initial problems such as the blackmail matter and "the will they won't they" instead of true character development and personal growth that we readers are supposed to experience and inevitably be proud of by the end. But our protagonists didn't experience that, they both have parents who are let downs and rely greatly on their children's success and support both emotionally and financially.

BUT NOTHING ABOUT THAT IS ADDRESSED BY THE END.
Her father was associated with the very white-collar criminal organization that was behind the blackmailing. But he never appears and that matter is left alone. Her mother who had no qualms with asking for money before would now be incentivized to ask her for more now because she is with a rich man. And his mother hasn't even officially approved of the woman he loves.

But don't worry everyone... all is well because they have the family over for dinner and decide to move in together. WHO GIVES A FUCK! All of these one-dimensional characters sitting down for tea and biscuits don't conclude anything.

But heyyyyy, I saved the best for last!
Because nothing else was more upsetting, more disturbing, more gut-wrenching than the fact that this author thought that we readers would sit and root for the protection of a fucking rapist and pedophile!!!!!!

WHAT!
We already began wrong, because the very material that this Liam is being blackmailed with is not only true but could possibly be used to provide justice to all of those young girls that were affected by such a disgusting, pompous brute of a man. Who mind you, NO ONE IN THE BOOK LIKES!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
And instead of ensuring that this matter was at least acknowledged, she tries to gain empathy for all of the family members, that already know the man is disgusting, that would be affected instead. The author thought that simply having the protagonist shun the man after losing all of the evidence would be enough. Enough for who? The man is still free and able to harm other young girls while carrying on with his serial marring. But we are supposed to be happy because his two ex-wives and clan of bastard neglected children, who are all already ashamed of him and his failure as a father, will never have to know just how much of a monster the old fool is. WTF!
I'm sorry but just the fact that someone thought that this was okay and published it irritates me. So quite frankly one star for each amazing narrator is a blessing.

𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗯

𝗠𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

Will her mission destroy in the egg their burgeoning attraction…

The author has one more hit with this one too.
I loved to read Aspen and Liam together.
Both are take no prisoner prisoner person, they dealt with what life threw at them and made with it at best as they could.
Sure, they were from different worlds, and their struggles were different but both had to fight to keep their head out of the water and not be drown by their parents own failings.
Liam comes from money, yet he built his empire from scratch, part to prove his sire he was not from the same mold. That genetic was just a basis, and only the inner persona was important.
Yet now his friend has met someone, he envies and wants something similar, share his most secrets thoughts and nights and days with someone special.
And when he feels a pull toward one of his new employee, he is not sure what to do as it is against his own policy.
Aspen has to grew up in a matter of a few days when her world crashed at fourteen. She became the parent of her family and since assumes its weight. She does not complain as it led her to a job she likes, whatever it’s ups and downs.
Now working under cover for one of the three billionaire bachelors, she must go with her mission, no matter of the cost, a life is in the balance. She can’t put her attraction for Liam in the equation other than it is an impossible thing.

What a rollercoaster ride, it kept me on high-level the whole book. It has everything for an awesome journey, an alpha hero with a heart of gold and lost of stamina, one hell of a woman ready to jump in the void if necessary, flying bullets, murder attempts and other incivilities, a mystery to solve, over the top scorching hot moments and old friends who visit.

I love a book that is well written, interesting, and just all around fun to read. Blackmailing Mr. Bossman by Anna Hackett hits all these points. It's sheer fun wrapped up in lots of humorous antics. Add a dash of sexy billionaire, a talented , kick-butt private investigator and a large furry Saint Bernard...and oh boy... Aspen, our PI heroine, is undercover in an attempt to save her client's husband from a white-collar crime organization called Nexus. Liam is one of the infamous Billionaire Bachelors of New York, owner of the company where she is undercover (he is the true target of Nexus, and has something they need). Tasked with blackmailing Liam , Aspen faces a tough decision. Stay undercover doing what Nexus wants and possibly allow for Liam to be hurt, or continue on the path to trying to bring down Nexus and save her client's husband? Tough call when you are seriously attracted to your "target". But just as Liam realizes that Aspen might not be his real enemy, Nexus ups the ante and bullets start flying. Can this billionaire and PI work together to bring down the bad guys and save the day? As he says "...we'll need to work very, very closely together...." wink..wink.. In all seriousness, I liked this book. No wimpy characters in this one. Just a typical swashbuckling adventure featuring blackmailing, gun toting criminals, a super rich hot guy with a cute English accent, and a kick *ss , funny, determined woman who is at the center of all the action! Can't wait till the last billionaire falls in the 3rd book. I received an ARC for my review.

THRILLING-SUSPENSE-DANGER & PASSIONATE ROMANCE

“Blackmailing Mr. Bossman” is a high energy read that takes you to New York,"The City That Never Sleeps." Danger lurks, waiting to pounce on a bachelor billionaire. Suspense and action kept me turning pages, molten-hot romance left me breathless and the happy forever filled my heart with joy.

Liam Kensington, self-made handsome billionaire, has single women aching for his attention. He has no time for frivolous romance or anyone using him for his money. Liam helps wounded vets with donations and only trusts his best friends, Mav and Zane. Aspen Chandler is a blonde intelligent, selfless Private Investigator. She has powerful self-defense moves when the need arises. Ruthless criminals abduct her friend’s husband to obtain a specific item from the billionaire. Aspen hides her identity to work as Liam’s assistant. Her priority is to blackmail him to save the life of her friend’s husband. They face some life-threatening moments before reaching their happy forever.

Thrilling storyline with great character interaction, vivid scene descriptions and clever banter. The author does a fabulous job with the reality of this story. Backstories give the reader insight into the personas of the characters. Liam is a true hero and Aspen’s courageous acts show her protective side. Their love beams with fiery passion. Relishing this read, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy.

This is such a fun story to read! Aspen Chandler is a PI who is trying to help her friend get her husband, Jake, back. He was taken by criminals and us being held somewhere until his wife, Erica, can get the goods on Liam Kensington. Aspen steps in to help her friend, and ends up having to blackmail Liam as part of the process. He now thinks Aspen a criminal, and she can’t tell him anything different or Jake may die. This is just such a clever take on a kidnapping and blackmail scheme! As with most Anna Hackett books, there will be some danger, a mystery to be solved, some bad characters, and some sexy times. These protagonists are both so likable, in spite of the vast differences in their current lives.

This book left me with a smile on my face. It’s fun and flirty; also, there’s a bit of name-dropping of cars, suits, liquors, and even cheese and watches that most people will never own, but if it’s read with the right mindset, it’s a quick, fun read. There’s lots of tension, and the pace is steady. Both the tension and the pace really ramp up toward the end, but that’s to be expected. This is a stand-alone, but it goes so well with the prior book in the series, that I’d suggest they be read in order. There’s still one book left to be completed in this series. Enjoy!!

OMW - Liam is one hot billionaire! Whilst he has been burned in the past by gold-diggers and he has a father that no one would actually want to claim as theirs, he has actually turned out pretty "normal" for a rich guy. The only one of the Billionaire trio to actually come from money, you'd expect him to be lazy and self-indulgent but he took his own path and eschewed family money for blood, sweat, and tears and made his own way.

Aspen (aka Penn) is the kinda girl you want on your side. She's sharp, down to earth and practical. She's got your back no matter what. She may not have seen her friend since her former comfortable life blew up thanks to her father's Ponzi scheme, but she's going undercover to help out. She just feels like a total slime when the kidnappers make her blackmail Liam.

There are twists and turns and lots of WTF moments. Liam's dad needs to find a rock to live under - I'd gladly skin the man alive! The humour is witty and apt and the banter and messages between Aspen and her sisters is a hoot. They created some very good sweary words LOL.

PS Look out for a glimpse of a certain ally who is good at fading into the background - I want more of him pleeeeaaaasssseee! Now sitting waiting for Mav!

Despite my moral objection to billionaires in general, Anna Hackett can sweep me up in a story and characters so much that I fully buy into the existence of NICE billionaires, like Liam, who gather wealth in a kind and caring way and treat their employees well. Darn it, she's good!

Another fun escapist adventure from one of my faves, Blackmailing Mr Bossman was sweet and I really liked Aspen as a lead. Her determination to do the right thing, her charming relationship with her sisters and her love of decadent chocolate all combined to make her a heroine to cheer for. I also really appreciate that, though this series is based on the heroine needing to trick or con the leading man, the secrets are invariably exposed quite early on and we don't have to deal with the ickiness I hate when people who are supposedly falling in love are just lying to each other.

My only grumble - why the mix of first and third? I keep seeing this, where the female voice is first person, the male in third and... I don't get it? It's quite common in the genre now and I just wish we could embrace consistency, I get tense whiplash.

But am I ridiculously excited about Mav's book, tenses be damned? Why yes, yes I am.

Keeps you guessing until the end!

Aspen is working to help a friend save her kidnapped husband. She is made to blackmail Liam. Liam is intrigued by Penn but very upset when she turns up blackmailing him. Then he finds out the true story. Now they are working together to save her friend's husband and stop the bad guys from winning. Will they manage to stay alive long enough to succeed? Will the second billionaire heartthrob fall in love?

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and kickass. Read this series in order. But if you want to read these books in chronological order, read Treasure Hunter Security series in order first, then Team 52 series in order followed by Norcross Security series in order. Then read this series in order. Read Sentinel Security in order after the Billionaire Twists series and end with Unbroken Heroes, which is the latest series at this time. If you like your romances with tons of action, very steamy scenes and kickass characters, then these are for you! Enjoy!

Aspen is a PI trying to help her friend when she gets involved with a gang determined to blackmail Liam, an extremely successful businessman. Liam finds himself very intrigued by his latest employee who seems to see him as a man and not just a bank balance. Naturally things become complicated very quickly and there are many misunderstandings along the way. However I loved Aspen because she stuck up for Liam to his father and wasn’t swayed by Liam’s money cause she knows how easy it is to lose everything. Great banter between her and Liam, very kick ass, and plenty of suspense and action kept me gripped. Solving the mystery and bringing in some of Anna Hackett’s characters from her other series really move this fast paced book along.

I don’t believe in giving my reviews a completed breakdown of everything that happens because I want you to enjoy the surprises along the way.... Thoroughly enjoyed this book – had me laughing out loud and cheering them on. If you’re a fan of Anna’s you won’t be disappointed in this new addition to the Billionaire Heists series.

She is a PI working undercover to stop a vicious criminal gang…
But their latest mark is Liam Kensington and she is tasked with making contact with him…
But the first time he sees her she floors a would be attacker without ruffling her hairdo… and he has been intrigued ever since..
He doesn’t want to believe that she is a blackmailer.. but their ransom is odd..
they want the deeds to a building…
So Liam and Aspen join forces to find out why…
There is hidden treasure and a man’s life to save.. curious sisters to avoid and Liam has decided that Aspen is it for him..
She takes some convincing..
BTW..his parents are both self absorbed horrible people.. he is a serial groom and she is a serial society queen.. but Aspen’s mother is not much better… she wants money from Aspen whenever her latest lover leaves or she doesn’t sell enough paintings to pay the rent.
Built in the same universe as the The Norcross series, and Treasure Hunters and Team 52… it’s like visiting friends.. and someone unexpected drops in..

The sins of the father had affected Aspen Chandler since she was a child and her life has not been easy, but she has managed to get ahead, take care of her sisters and be ready to help those in need. Now, her job as P.I. has put her in a difficult situation where her heart was not the only thing in danger. For his surprise, Liam Kensington had found a smart and intriguing woman with secrets he was decided to discover even if he was the target. With his story and family drama he was not one who trusted easy, but the woman had something that was dragging him to the deep. I liked Aspen’s daredevil character more than ready for the action and the mystery around the kidnappings. Enjoyed the action and suspense with the protagonists pooling their resources, struggling with their feelings and emotions and caught in a heated attraction while facing a dangerous threat. Always draw my attention the strong, skilled and decided women that match the male characters in the stories.
