I love this series. I started it 39 days ago and I'm just starting book 52. The characters are well fleshed and interesting. There are a few characters that annoy me, but with so many characters, there's bound to be a few who grate on the nerves, just like real people-lol. Actually, not true, with the same number of real people far more than a few would annoy me-haha, so these folks are unusually likable. I love the concept of the series and there are seemingly endless storylines and singles to get mated. The stories are unique and interesting and I adore how interwoven they are. Now that we know who the Krall/Kra-ell are, I'm surprised none of them yet noted that Syssi's vision was of them loading an army of Odus onto a ship. And now that they appear to be becoming sentient...perhaps they can be accessed or reprogrammed remotely by the Kra-ell?...I'm seeing a lot of mentioning that an Odu is around while important convos are happening. They're listening. I'm predicting at some point perhaps the Kra-ell will take control of them to learn all their secrets and perhaps give up their location. Maybe currently, since they'd apparently been lost/abandoned and found by the gods, the Kra-ell think they were gone and forgotten, but once our Clan gets into China snooping around that could lead to the discovery that the Odus are in service and prompt them to connect with them to 'download' what they've learned. Or, after hearing so much talk, once they hear Jade's name, it may reboot something in them and they'll recall their origins and seek to connect. Just my musing, but we'll see. I feel the thread there. It can't be coincidence that they are rather ignored in the background and privy to so much and that it's been noted that they are 'different' now since the water incident. Time will tell. Anyway, this is a great series well worth the read and the massive time commitment. She's a really good writer with a fascinating imagination. A few inconsistencies here and there or dialog the person would likely not say, but it's minor and infrequent esp for there being so many books. I'm really looking forward to seeing how these rogue clans of a different breed play out and how their backstory differs. Good stuff.
