The Children of the Gods #51

Dark Power Unleashed

Rate this book
Cassandra’s power is unpredictable, uncontrollable, and destructive. If she doesn’t learn to harness it, people might get hurt.

Onegus’s self-control is legendary. Even his fangs and venom glands obey his commands.

They say that opposites attract, and perhaps it’s true, but are they any good for each other?

Cassandra is my fav.

I think this book is my favorite so far. Cassy is the bomb, in more ways than one. I haven't laughed so much in a while. I hope she stays with Onegus and her mom is really an immortal.

After 50

After 50 books I’m still excited to read them as soon as they come out. We’ve been introduced to so many new characters that we get snippets from them and old characters. We get to read Kians point of view more often which is exciting since he pretty much started in the series! New immortals coming into play, possible mates of said immortal in the making?! That’s going to be epic when we get to it. Question of the day, who exactly is Geraldine? (Cassandra’s mom) I’m excited to keep reading as the story develops. And I swear I always feel like I’m slowly keeping up with world events since each book has a nugget thrown in here and there! Keeps me updated lol

Another Great Book

The book count for this series may seem daunting since this is the 51st book, thankfully the way IT Lucas organizes the series is by having  the books are set in 3-4 books in a mini-series that revolves around a main couple. There are often side characters & couples that you will see develop along side the main couple. The series does have an overarching storyline that continues through all the books so it is best to read them in order. These books are also told from the POV of multiple individuals, even many of the side characters or members of previous highlighted coupled. Each chapter clearly identifies who is telling their story so it is easy to follow.

This is the second book for Onegus and Cassandra’s story. I love how their story is developing & I can’t wait to see what the resolution is after the next book. There is a mystery that started many books ago that I am hoping we get some answers to after the next book. The ending left me wanting more and I definitely can’t wait for the next book!

Dark Power Unleashed it's book 51 of I.T. Lucas Children of the Gods series. Onegus and Cassandra continue to grow closer as the days pass. With Sari and David's wedding coming up it's the prefect opportunity for him to prove her cares for Cassy as more than the hook up she fears being. With the twist and secrets he has to pull off the story is interesting from beginning to end. Their relationship could be so much more of they could get passed their own hang ups. Time and the Fates willing they'll find a true mates match. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

I love this series. I started it 39 days ago and I'm just starting book 52. The characters are well fleshed and interesting. There are a few characters that annoy me, but with so many characters, there's bound to be a few who grate on the nerves, just like real people-lol. Actually, not true, with the same number of real people far more than a few would annoy me-haha, so these folks are unusually likable. I love the concept of the series and there are seemingly endless storylines and singles to get mated. The stories are unique and interesting and I adore how interwoven they are. Now that we know who the Krall/Kra-ell are, I'm surprised none of them yet noted that Syssi's vision was of them loading an army of Odus onto a ship. And now that they appear to be becoming sentient...perhaps they can be accessed or reprogrammed remotely by the Kra-ell?...I'm seeing a lot of mentioning that an Odu is around while important convos are happening. They're listening. I'm predicting at some point perhaps the Kra-ell will take control of them to learn all their secrets and perhaps give up their location. Maybe currently, since they'd apparently been lost/abandoned and found by the gods, the Kra-ell think they were gone and forgotten, but once our Clan gets into China snooping around that could lead to the discovery that the Odus are in service and prompt them to connect with them to 'download' what they've learned. Or, after hearing so much talk, once they hear Jade's name, it may reboot something in them and they'll recall their origins and seek to connect. Just my musing, but we'll see. I feel the thread there. It can't be coincidence that they are rather ignored in the background and privy to so much and that it's been noted that they are 'different' now since the water incident. Time will tell. Anyway, this is a great series well worth the read and the massive time commitment. She's a really good writer with a fascinating imagination. A few inconsistencies here and there or dialog the person would likely not say, but it's minor and infrequent esp for there being so many books. I'm really looking forward to seeing how these rogue clans of a different breed play out and how their backstory differs. Good stuff.

Another great one in this series. So many couples to enjoy. Cassandra is a tough one and is accomplished and independent. She is exactly who Onegus deserves. Especially after meeting his mother, you can see why he fell for a tough woman like Cassandra.
Margaret and Bowen are another great couple. Bowen is the perfect, patient gentleman and Margaret needs a man like him. Can't wait to see these 2 finally consummate their relationship.
Eleanor was starting to grow on me. I was starting to root for her. She was slowly earning my trust. However, after all she revealed to Emmett, I don't know anymore. She talked way too much and gave information that she shouldn't have. She is on Probation and should be extra careful of what she reveals. I hope Emmett doesn't use all the information she provides against the clan. That would be really upsetting.
Geraldine - Cassandra's mother, I believe is an immortal. I wonder if she is Roni's grandmother. She supposedly drowned and her body was never found. If she is Roni's grandmother, maybe that is why she has memory lapses, from the drowning. Or she is an immortal and makes things up so Cassandra doesn't catch on.
It seems that they are all starting to see oddities in the Odus'. There is definitely something brewing there and I can't wait to see what becomes of the Odus. Perhaps they are the true Gods/Sentient Beings, or Aliens. I just don't think they are Machines that can be taken apart. Looking forward to hearing their history.
Overall, another great read. Can't wait for the next one.

Dark Power Unleashed: The Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance, Book 51- I.T. Lucas

Cas and Onegus continue to deepen their relationship although there are a few hiccups along the way. Their personalities are both very strong and she now has to process the whole immortal world and whether her mom, Geraldine, is actually an immortal as well. Cas has a bit of a “tough” personality, and it takes some getting used to. It’s a pity because Onegus is so awesome but hopefully she will be a help to the clan as new developments and characters emerge.
More developments with Eleanor and Emmet is very exciting especially the search for his tribe.
Bowen and Margaret continue to grow as a couple and she also has learned about the immortal world.
So many other side stories and characters continue to thread there way throughout the series and it’s wonderful to see Kian, Annani’s and the rest clan have important roles as well in this book. Can’t wait for the “babies” to start being born as well.
It’s amazing how many storylines there are in this series yet they all weave through the entire arc seamlessly. Love Book 51 and look forward to every book to come.

Dark Power Unleashed KU 270 pgs ***.* Onegus & Cassandra

3.5 stars. Parts were very good and exciting while just as much of the story was boring and slow. There are several couples in this book. Emmett and Eleanor spend time together and admit they feel a draw to one another, but they are both planning to use the other to gain information about Emmett’s clan and Emmett wants to gain his freedom from Kian but perhaps playing like he is mated to Eleanor then maybe escaping down the road. Onegus and Cassandra are getting closer, Onegus is already smitten completely with the girl and I think she may be that way towards him Margaret and Bowen still say they are friends although they both like each other a little more than that. As long as she is still injured with a cast on, Bowen won’t make any attempts.

Getting Exciting Again

This latest trilogy in the series has been quite good, so far. I kinda had an issue or two... mostly with characters I didn't like...

The main issue/person I didn't like was Cassandra. It's a shame that the first person of color--especially woman of color--in this series seems to be portrayed as such a b!tch#. One of the first things we see about her is that she has a nasty attitude. And it's not that she's misunderstood... she means to give off that nasty vibe.

I didn't like how Eleanor blabbed so much to Emmett.. I thought that was, well... stupid. Especially since she's kind of on probation.

The addition of a new type of immortal and a whole bunch of new Dormants turns up the excitement again.

With nearly the entire clan arriving for Sari and David's wedding and Kian's bimillennial birthday celebration, everyone is both excited and unnerved with the exuberant amount of security needed and having to cancel rescue efforts to accommodate. Further, the search for Emmett's community, Margaret's move to The Village, Onegus's budding relationship with a likely dormant, and the mission to China, the clan has its proverbial hand's full. That does not leave room for Annani's dramatics; unfortunately, what the clan mother wants, she gets. No a fan of hers.

In the last novel 'Dark Power Untamed' it said that Alena had given birth to 11 children. In this novel it says 13. So, two phantom pregnancies? Another inconsistency happens, when Onegus meets Cassandra at her house, it says he carries her up the stairs and then that she expected...on her bed- her bed is downstairs. Her mother's room is upstairs.

OneGus and Cassandra

Book 51 yeah I have really read that many.I got 70 pages in on this one and then lost interests months later I only continue because I wanted to remove it and the next two book in the series that has been sitting on my tablet for months.I really was not interested in Cassandra but her mum is interesting? But sadly not really in this book much.I also feel it's starting to get repetitive (not shocking as we are 51 books in) some story's are dragged out way to long.this book was also about Margaret but like most of these books it is three book parts,so each new character is leading for three books along with others.

Can't wait !

Only 3 other authors have kept me so enthralled in their books that I would pre order the next book months or years in advance . Though now that I think of it there's a couple more that have kept me coming back.. but they were back to before Kindle . Let me say the I.T. Lucas gives the best storyline in each book keeping all the characters current and involved . Top shelf with every book ! I don't foresee any ending to this series unless she wills it ! I'm A total fan !

Onegus and Cassandra:

This latest book in the series is as expected and much much more. I absolutely love this series, I can’t get enough!! Luckily for us there is still lots of family members, Guardian force or not, that still need their true love match. Plus, the whole Scottish side at the castle still need their love matches. We’ve also got the new twist with more to come to look forward to. I for one can’t wait to read how the Clan is changed forever. In a good way? Or not?? That is the question! Lol Happy reading!!

Dark Power Unleashed is book 51 in the Children of the Gods series, and is the second of the Dark Power trilogy. It is the story of Onegus and Cassandra.

The "power" couple grow closer and attend Sari and David's wedding as a couple. There is an oddness about Cassandra that a few of the clan members pick up on, but she herself think she blends in better.

Ms Lucas has created a wonderful world and keeps the story arcs fresh, and there is a turn in this book. You can see it coming but where she is going to take us is anyone's guess.

OH! MY!! PERFECT absolutely PERFECT

And perfect in every way. Every book in this series satisfies so completely and yet leaves the reader anticipating the next book. These stories are complicated but never slowed down with too much detail ….. and yet brilliantly and completely informative. Stunningly well written by the amazingly talented I. T. Lucas. HIGHLY recommend Dark Power Unleashed - a definite MUST READ.

I especially love how the author shows the story line from every possible angle. I can’t tell you how many times I have read books and wished to know what other people were thinking; other points of view. Please don’t stop writing this series!

Dark power unleasehed review my personal opinion

I am of the opinion that this book is as good if not better than any of the other books in the series and that is to say that they are written to a very high standard and are one of my favourites and i dont have many books that qualify for the privilege of being in my personal library at home but this book along with their predecessors is definitely going to be their.

Is It Fate?

Love the dynamics of the buddig romance between Cassandra and Onegus. They are the perfect match and are not sure if its love. I like that she is cautious about transitioning. I'm not feeling the thing between Eleanor and Emmett. They are both weird. Anyway I did enjoy the book.

Still a fantastic series

I have read every one of the books in The Children of the Gods series at least once and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Each book is fresh and original and yet continues on with the overall story. It's like being a part of the community and waiting to hear the latest gossip. I can't Waite for book 52.

This is my favorite series. Every single book keeps building on the last one. So addicting. If you like books that really take you on a journey you are going to love this series. It is a positive fantasy world of love, loyalty and mystery. Start with the first book. So many hours of escape from the real world. My kind of reading.

I started reading this series a year ago (June 2020). The only bad thing I have to say is I caught up a few months ago, and I now have to wait for the next book to come out. I love the series. As soon as the new books come out, I drop what I am reading and read the new one. Very well written bringing in new members of the clan, new dormants, and their families with each new book.

Good read. Please end the story before moving on. You book me then you drop me in the fire leaving me to burn up and salivate for months.

Anyway...I want to know why your immortals and or dormants are not people of color. Why are the immortals all white except for Jin. Or Mey? People of color have great imaginations too!!!!

Each Book Is Amazing

I can't wait for the next book in the series. What I love most is how all the different story arcs are woven together. Sometimes it takes several books before the connections are revealed. Another great book and I'm anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this trilogy.

Intrigue Mystery Romance!

This is the most interesting storyline of any series I've ever read. Each book in this series is as of not intriguing than the one before! I was the happiest person ever when I discovered it continued after 50! This could easily become a blockbuster movie series and I expect it to someday! Brilliant stories, brilliant characters, great twists!!!

Usually the second book in a trilogy isn’t as good as the first. I flew through this book in one day. I am starting the finale after I finish this review. There is laughter, stress, adventure, uncertainty, the joy of couples figuring out if they work together, and love. Don’t miss this book. It is worth the time to read and enjoy!!!

The Children of the gods series has been one the most intriguing series I have ever read. I immediately start look for the next book and I.T. Lucas never disappoints! I think I'm actually on book 61. I gobble them up as fast as possible and due to my lack of follow through, I rarely take the time to write reviews! This is a Must Read Series!!

Love this series. One of my favourites. It just keeps getting better. I am wondering what the fates have in mind by getting all the dormants together with partners. Is there going to be a stand off between the doomers and and annanis clan. Look forward to finding out.
