I wasn't so sure about reading this one after the last book, but I'm so glad I did. It was amazing. I loved it. Now all I need is the other brothers book to come out and I'll be super happy.
Yeah, aaaaaaaa No. Might be “good” but I’m so not in the mood for a jerky D bag of a male lead and a female lead so filled with anger and vengeance it’s made her dumb. I mean this idiot seriously thinks she can just run up and kill “Death” with her wolf or some ice spears ? Seriously? WTF. That’s just dumb. Period. Full stop. What’s worse is when he stops her easier that a parent does an enraged toddler and she has a chance to escape ,the moron just keeps swinging until she’s captured and put in magic suppressing cuffs and he halls her away. Why doesn’t she stop and run off and re group ? Dum. De. Dum. Dummmmm! Dear gods,I can’t back a h this F’ing dumb. I’m not feeling any chemistry here. And you’d think as the daughter of Fenrir she’d be older than she seems . I mean, sure I guess even as old as he is supposed to be he could still be having kids but She seems like a bratty, short sided young adult ,who hasn’t thought to do any research or thought any of her plans though. Seriously, she feels rash and impulsive and immature and he’s cold and calculating. Sorry, just not feeling it. Maybe it’s me but I also think at five chapters in I should have enough of something to make me care about these two characters and I don’t. Neither is particularly likable and both seem short sighted. Even if he wants to keep her around ,keeping her handicapped in magic suppressing cuffs is dumb. Unless she’s to be with him 24/7 she needs to be able to defend herself and access her wolf. No. Reading a book for pleasure should NEVER feel like work. It should be fun! Challenging at times maybe but always fun and if you’re having to force yourself you should stop. So I am.
General Thoughts: The fourth in this series is the story of Eira and Beliel. Beliel has certainly been a complicated character throughout this series. I'm very curious to see where the author goes next since she has left herself room to explore multiple stories. I hope she does.
Eira and Beliel were interesting characters, and this one was fun. A few plotholes here and there, predictable at parts. But I enjoyed it.
If you are a PNR fan, check this one. It's a good series.
Steam Meter: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Pretty steamy and hot.

I totally didn't expect the void key to work. It was open long enough for more to slip out. That's how those 2 got out to begin with .. so opening it immediately released the third, but I am more than sure others would've or could've followed through. Then when he was almost lost in it ... UGH. I knew she was trying to play the Furies and pretend to be on their side.. but it was told from Beliel's POV so you feel the betrayal and heartbreak with him for her doing that... :( he catches on eventually - and almost loses himself in the void as well lol.
Giving the key to Loki was dumb AF. I know there has got to be more to this story - it can't just be the end like that. What is Loki needing the key for? Will he use it on Lucifer? Will he release all the Gods? Why did he need it so bad! I know he's got something planned up his sleeve, he is a trickster after all. I just need to know what's going to happen next!
This was really good blend of fantasy and smut. I mean the whole series was really good like that. You get this amazing world building and story telling for this magical world and these amazing characters.. and you also get the hard core sex scenes <3 :) loooove it Reading just fantasy is fine - but when the author throws in some amazing and detailed love making... uuugh * chefs kiss * perfecto
I was sooooo thrilled that this book was published...i was so intrigued with Belial and his story, and this was perfect!
This story is a continuation from the Claimed by Lucifer series. It can be read as a standalone but really reads better if you have the background and context for some things said/done. Belial - not only an Elder God but Death himself - is struggling with his new powers. He has an insatiable need for souls and he has started scouring New Orleans for people who are evil to quench his hunger. During a hunt, he's attacked by Eira who was determined to take down the Grim Reaper of New Orleans. She also has a personal vendetta since she is the daughter of Fenrir who Belial killed in the previous series. But.... how were they to know that they were fated mates??? Now they are working together to take down 2 of the Furies who somehow got out of the Void who are determined to bring their third sister out and wreck mayhem on earth again.
Loved loved loved this story!!!!!! So wonderful and HOT! Elizabeth Briggs always does an amazing job telling a story and this one was phenomenal!!
Death Lord is the 4th installment in Elizabeth Briggs' Claimed by Lucifer series, and it is a 175-page novella of page-turning craveability! Briggs decided to give Lucifer and Hannah time to give their Hell bound homestead a facelift and instead focuses her attention on Lucifer's eldest son, Belial, aka Death, the not-so-fun-loving 4th Horseman. Yeah, Belial tried to overthrow his father a time or two, but hey, ruthlessness runs in the family... Becoming Death to save his little sister Aurora drummed up all sorts of I'm sorrys and I forgive yous in the family, and even though Belial doesn't regret his decision for a moment, living with certain "apocalyptic afflictions" is a challenge. Enter Eira, a half-fae and half-demon beauty with vengeance on her mind and Death's death in her sights. Cue Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson - the Grim Reaper of New Orleans is about to get his scythe handed to him.
This was good but not as good as the previous books. There was a loop of how Eira felt about Belial even though she had already accepted him.. same with Belial and him knowing what the feeling was and it kinda dragged out a bit.
The big climax was a bit dull and left me feeling unfulfilled afterwards. With the previous encounters with Elder Gods, this one was lightweight and didn’t amount to much excitement. Even the aftermath with her brothers was left hanging. Loki made an appearance but it didn’t amount to much despite the foreboding his words and character dredged up. The whole thing took place within a span of 3-4 days with a week jump at the very end.
All in all, I was happy to see Belial’s outcome after his sacrifice for Aurora, but this did not live up to the others standards.
I love Elizabeth Briggs, her writing is fun, clear, and memorable (even during chemo, remarkable) Her books are easy to read, unpredictable, and truly unputdownable. Belial sacrificed his soul for his little sister and finds himself at the end of an icy spear wielded by Eira, the daughter of the last person who held Death's essence. But Death's hunger doesn't want her soul, it wants her... A fated mate, enemies to lovers romance read filled with wonderous creatures, worlds, declaration of love, family, and friendship. Death Lord hits all the right notes. Highly recommended series, book, and author
2⭐️ I was expecting more from this book but I just didn’t love it even from the beginning. We dove into this couple within the first few pages and it seemed forced. I didn’t feel their connection like I did with the other books. I wasn’t crazy about the plot either, it was just ok. I felt like the characters were bland. We’ve seen Belial before and I was intrigued by him and his story, but that didn’t come through for me. Even though this was a short book it felt like work trying to get through it, even with the spice.
Worth the read?: Barely Reread?: NO
Read if you like: -magic, Fae, shifters -slow burn -forced proximity -mates
Good book. I love Belial. I was not happy in the previous books when he tried to work against his father. Belial meets his fated mate. His 2nd one, because the 1st one died. Only she wants revenge and to kill Belial for killing her father. The ending was my favorite part. Belial took Eria to meet his family in Hell. They see little Aurora 1st riding their 3 headed dog, Cerebus. As soon as she sees her brother she starts yelling, Be.... Be. Lol! So precious. Anyway, Eria meets all his family and it's a great ending! P.S. I'd love to see what happens with partner Damian, Belial's brother. He's such a partier.
I think I enjoyed Death Lord more than any of the other books in this series, even though this one reads more like an additional novella rather than a true part of the series.
Death Lord follows Belial, Lucifer and Hannah's oldest son, as he works with his new powers of Death to keep New Orleans free from the criminals the police can't catch. Eira is the daughter of Fenrir, who was part of the uprising against Lucifer, and who was killed in the final book by Belial. She sets out to kill Belial, but of course the universe has other plans for them.
This was really fun and really quick to read. The romance was dark but cute, and I don't think there's much more to say on it.
Absolutely fell in love with Eira and Belial’s story they are amazing together and the story was suspenseful, I wasn’t sure Eira wouldn’t kill him with the way she hated him.. Loved 🥰 loved 🥰 this storyline…..IT WAS HOT 🥵 !!!! This whole series Claimed by Lucifer is spectacular… Elizabeth Briggs always does an amazing job telling a story and this one was phenomenal!! Definitely recommend this book 📕!!! Looking forward to more books on this clan..
Death Lord, the fourth novella in Elizabeth Briggs' Claimed by Lucifer series, shifts focus to Belial, Lucifer’s eldest son and the brooding Fourth Horseman. Once ruthless enough to challenge his father, Belial now bears the weight of his apocalyptic afflictions after sacrificing everything to save his sister. But his biggest challenge comes in the form of Eira, a fierce half-fae, half-demon determined to take him down. Packed with tension, vengeance, and undeniable attraction, this fast-paced read delivers an electrifying battle of wills in true Briggs fashion.
This is such a great series! I hope this isn't the end of Lucifer's clan! Belial and Eira's story is filled with old and new characters from the previous books. It's fun to see a different side of the Lord of Death! Eira comes looking to avenge her father's death and finds her enemy is her fated mate! They join together to fight a greater enemy in this fun, hot and sexy read! Can we get Damien next, please!!!
I enjoyed this shorter book that was all about the fourth horseman death and his new mate. (She seemed a bit young & nieve and did drive me nuts a bit). That being said i still loved Belial story although i was hoping for more of the devil & hannah in this one plus no way would they give the void key to Loki. I am hoping that the final sons story Damien will be next.
I loved this take. A little disappointed they never asked for help! Even Hannah and Lucifer asked for help when needed. It turned out in the end but would love to see even more interaction.
Can't wait for Damien to find his woman, as he said 😆 to his brother's mate. Will he be in complete denial? I think he will be more stubborn than his brother for sure.
Even though the book wasn’t as long as other of Elizabeth books it was still pure amazing. The dinner at the end was icing on the cake. I’m looking forward for the next chapter of books. Hopefully we get to see if Damien gets his happy ending. And see how much a badass girl Aurora turns out to be.
I was a little bummed this one felt so rushed. IDK. I really liked the first 3 about Lucifer and while it was good it wasnt amazing.
Stars: 3⭐️ POV: dual HEA/HFN: yes Cheating: no Cliffhanger?: no Tropes: mates, demons, age gap (does that matter in the fantasy world?, enemies to lovers
If the first three books were a five star diner, this would be the delicious festival size serving. I found it enjoyable, but I also wouldn't have minded had the book been longer like the pervious three in the series.
Death has a soul and her name is Eira! If you love action, romance, suspense and smut; this is the retelling you never knew you needed! We need a Damien retelling next!!
Death meets his match... with an icicle to the back no less... glad to see Belial get a happy ending I was worried when he had to sacrifice his soul to save his baby sister..
I am so glad she continued the series but I really felt this one was rushed. One minute they are killing each other then they are mates in love then it’s over. Been disappointed but atleast it didn’t drag. Just felt rushed.
He’ll Fire indeed. The truth is spoken opposites absolutely attract! From vengeance to passion!!!! Okay maybe i should not spoil it for you! Elizabeth Briggs, has done it yet again! Binge worthy, edge of the seat breaking, HOT Fire!🔥 Okay off to the next trilogy! See you there!
Brilliant book will there be more about the fea brother? And what about the baby sister now will she turn out, After all all the brothers and her parents have saved her before?
I loved Eira and Beleil they were amazing together and the story was suspenseful and riveting and I have to say my favorite favorite favorite character is Aurora
