Quick, easy read with an important message about not giving up when things are hard. Good balance of lovely illustrations and text. Positive, encouraging family whose words of wisdom finally sink in when Hugo needs it. I think Hugo's dog Little Bit deserves a fair amount of the hero credit too. I like that both Little Bit and the sheep were counting on Hugo to stick to the task. I also like that Hugo's problem wasn't instantly solved, he had to go through disappointment and increased effort to solve the problem and use multiple ideas to ultimately succeed.
