Every girl dreams of being the Alpha’s mate, but for me it’s a nightmare.
Being born a ‘blue moon shifter’ means living my life underground and not being allowed to visit the surface world, not ever. Being an outcast in my pack, ridiculed and taunted daily didn’t make life any better.
I’ve dreamed of escape for years but when Alpha Logan rejects me, I make a break for it. The only problem is, this sadistic Alpha wolf refuses to part with his new chew toy.
I escape the hole with the help of three mysterious Alpha wolves from the surface world. But they trick me. Before I can enjoy my new freedom, they kidnap me, taking me to their lair.
These three sinfully handsome Alphas demand I use my powers to break a curse that’s been plaguing their pack for decades. There’s only one problem. I have no powers!
If I don’t find a way to break their curse soon, they’ll send me back to my pack or worse, Alpha Logan will come for me himself.
Hey there! I'm a Jamaican author with a passion for all things paranormal romance. I write Reverse harem romances with irresistible plot twists that will keep you up way past your bed time.
A Wolf Scorned was an easy to enjoy book. The dialogue and writing for the most part felt very young . There was not a ton of world or relationship building and so the story never hooked me in. I won’t be thinking about them much but sometimes you just need an easy book to get you through that book slump.
I didnt realise when i started reading this book that this series was set in the same world as the Poison Penitentiary series. It was only when i started to notice some of the characters from that series were mentioned that had a light bulb moment. I love it when characters crossover into other books especially if its books ive already read too
Amira (FMC) is an outcast in her own pack. Classed as a half breed and lower than low in the pack ranking. Bullied and Abused her whole life until the full moon when all wolves find their mates where she meets a mysterious wolf - Syrus. Which in turn leads her to the Blood Moon Shifters. Callum and Miles being Alphas as well as Syrus. My god there was so many plot twists and turns in this book it made my head spin but it definitely kept you on your toes. Amira is a likable character even with everything that she goes through in this book. Shes full of strength, wit and sarcasm. I really liked Miles too. He was easy going, a jokester and just a sweet guy. This was a brilliant read and that ending was a knockout! Im looking forward to the next book now
This was a new take on the shifter trope. There was some interesting world building and lots of drama and action.
I like that we got to know a lot about the FMC at the beginning and more about other characters as the book went on. There is definitely still more to learn.
The ending had a bit of a twist, added drama, some action and a small cliffhanger. It left you looking for more but thankfully not a massive book hangover.
Wow, I can’t wait for the story to continue! I’s so excited to see where Amira goes in the next installment, cause hell hath no fury like a “A WOLF SCORNED” A BLOOD MOON SHIFTER’S REJECTED MATES ROMANCE . this is my second series by Taylor Spratt. I read POISON PENITENTIARY series Previously I RECEIVED FREE COPY, BUT I REQUESTED IT, CAUSE I LOVE HER BOOKS! AMIRA is a lowly “half breed” wolf born in the “HOLE” an underground facility where wolf shifters are forced to give their powers over to feed and empower the vampires that run their section of the City of Dominion. Dominion city is in a future post apocalyptic former USA. 65 years earlier SHIFTERS were exposed to the world and a 7 year war ensued. Humans fled to outer rural compounds far away from the cities. Cities are now run by vampires, fae & other magical beings. Do the king & queen of Dominion know that wolf shifters are being used to power the city? Probably not? The king & queen are former prisoners of POISON PENITENTIARY 3 book series. “Rejected mates romance: BLOOD MOON SHIFTERS” series takes place approximately 20 years after Vampire King Alexandros & his Fae mate Queen Jessica with her other two mates, take over Dominion City. (You do not need to have read the POISON PENITENTIARY series, to follow A WOLF SCORNED) while both series are connected each series is a stand alone *warning* the books are not stand alone’s*. They are “cliff hanger” 3 part book series. You Must read all 3 books to complete story This is book 1 of REJECTED MATES ROMANCE: BLOOD MOON SHIFTERS. Book 2 coming soon I’LL BE WAITING WITH BATED BREATH! AMIRA, escapes Alpha Logan after he formally rejects her, and after a mysterious wolf shifter “recuses her”. She then finds her self captive yet again? But by 2 hot sexy alpha’s and their Beta. They need her to break a deadly curse. She is drawn to each of these males but, all is not as it seems in the BLOOD MOON PACK. She knows they are keeping secrets from her. And until she discovers the truth, she can not and will not give herself fully to the Alpha’s of the BLOOD MOON pack. There is also ALPHA LOGAN TO CONTEND WITH, then another mysterious individual, armed with the truths and secrets Amira so desperately seeks, secrets of her family secrets that will arm her and set her free or destroy her! HONOURED TO BE AN ALPHA READER FOR TAYLOR SPRATT
Like many others, I felt the writing and MC to be extremely juvenile. This felt like the bad self insert fanfic Mary Sue characters I wrote with a friend in grade 7. After many eye rolls, including parts of the world-building that felt very shallow and nonsensical, I lost it at the characters riding in on unicorns to save the day. 🙄
I was surprised the main premise of the book seems to be completely opposite of what the blurb of the book describes? The alpha is a huge asshole but didn’t reject her? If the actual description of the book can’t even pay enough attention to the book, why should you?
Anyway, I appreciate that other people genuinely enjoy this book but it read as poorly written juvenile content that is pretending to be an adult book to me. To the MC I’m happy for you or sorry that happened, but I ain’t reading all this.
A very light and easy shifter read! Read it in one sitting!
Amira is a lowly half breed in the lowest form of wolf shifters - hole shifters. Literally wolves who live underground. They've been forced there to serve vampires who live above them and who capture their power to use to power their luxuries. She's never even seen the sky.
Had enough of being bullied and Tormented by literally everyone bar her one and only friend, Riley, she makes a plan to escape to the surface for good. She plans this for Mating night when everyone will be occupied and she can sneak past.
Bumps into a good looking stranger being chased by guards.
Syrus stops her from escaping, and when she goes back to the mating ritual, she's horrified that a mark reveals itself. She's even more horrified when the matching male is presented...
An unlikely saviour rescues her from what could have been either a life of pure torture or a quick murder at the hands of her 'mates' long term girlfriend.
Syrus and Callum are Alphas yo the blood moon pack, with Miles as Syrus' beta. They live in the Alpha house where Amira is sort of being kept. They believe She's part witch and can help reverse a curse on the pack that is decimating them. There's been no reason to think She's a witch so she's not so sure but she agrees.
However, the alpha from the Blue Moon pack close by, Ragnaron believes Amira is meant to be his, and is willing to do anything to have her by his side....
Obviously both packs dislike each other. But who can Amira trust? When she wants to learn about her past, Syrus Callum and Miles close up but Ragnaron doesn't. But is he telling the truth?
And not to forget Alpha Logan - her mate from the hole. Doubtful he's going to let his one and only mate go without a fight....
This seems to be a slow burn reverse harem, so only one real secual scene in this book, but strong language and its strongly suggested that it will happen. Amira is new to all the feelings flowing round her, but girl knows what she wants!
A good start to a new wolf shifter series!
I received a copy of the ebook in return for an honest review
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Set in the world Dominion (Poison Penitentiary) we meet Amira. A half-breed wolf shifter that is alienated from her pack. Her only friend is Riley, the daughter of one of the Betas in the pack. Amira has been planning her escape from her underground home for months and the Mating ceremony is the perfect opportunity. Unfortunately she is caught trying to escape and forced to attend the ceremony she has no desire to be at. Things get even worse when she it mated to the Alpha of the pack, Logan. Who promptly rejects her in favor of his girlfriend. Soon after she is "rescued" by an Alpha of another pack. Syrus, along with his co-alpha Callum and alpha in training Miles, need her to break a curse effecting their pack. Even though she knows they are keeping secrets, she is drawn to all three males. This story took me for a ride. I loved Amira's spirit and fight. She was a strong female character, that didn't take anyone's sh*t! I could not put this book down! I cannot wait for book two! A MUST read!!
A wolf who lives her life as the outcast for being a "half breed" is thrown into a whole new world she knows nothing about. She learned her life isn't what it seems, and her future is much more complicated than she expected.
I didn't immediately click with the MFC, she feels very young. She was 21 but she seemed more like 16/17 by her her responses to the situations thrown at her. But her reactions to each man was kind of confusing, she would describe how the way they make her feel is making her feel out of control. But then her actions didn't come off that way. It made the "heat" feel kind of anticlimactic and not even really built up. The powers she finds out about is just a blip in the story line when I was really expecting it to be a huge part of it. The rejected mate aspect of the story was very small as well. She's rejected and then that's that until he briefly comes back.
Now I love a good revenge story, so I'm super excited for the next book and ready to see what these newfound powers can do
FMC is 21, and MMCs look in their mid 20s but could be over 200.
Set in the same universe as the prison series, but decades later.
FMC is bullied, her wolf has not appeared yet, she's seen as a half breed, and her whole pack live underground under the service of vampires who use their life source to power their lives above. She lost her mum 8 years ago and has been alone since then. She's never been outside or seen the above world, has little news on what is above, no TV, no Mobile, no working shower. So yea, she is pretty innocent. But her circumstances push her to want more and escape. So she's got an inner fire that gets her in trouble most of the time.
The day she escapes is a catalyst. Her fated mate is a arsehole, her saviours are untrustworthy, and people are still not telling her everything. In the end, we are on a journey with her. I can't tell who I like, but for obvious reasons, there are many I dislike in the potential harem.
There is bullying, spice and smutt, alphaholes, and a new whole world that may just destroy her if she's not careful.
After supernaturals outed themselves, humans went to war with them and as a result the supernaturals now rule all the major cities. Amira is a half breed wolf who lives with the hole shifters underground and as a result of her half breed status is treated even less then an omega and is hated by the pack. After finding out her fated mate is the Alpha, who publicly rejects her for his longtime girlfriend, Amira is put into the dungeon. However, an Alpha from above ground has been looking for her, only to kidnap her and force her to help their pack or be sent back to her rejected mate. There were all kinds of twists and turns and new revolutions at the end that I am anxious to see how it all plays out in book 2!
Amira is a half breed living in the hole, rejected by nearly every wolf shifter around her. Her plans for escape are about to happen when everything takes a turn. Not only does she find she is mates with the Alpha who doesn't want her, she finds herself taken by a strange man from the outside. Soon her world is spiraling as learns new truths about herself and her family.
I loved the plot of this book. The writing was incredible and you are immediately pulled into the story. While there were some plot points that didn't make a lot of sense, the book was still a great read.
This is one hell of a dark and steamy rejected reverse harem romance that I warn you, once you pick it up nothing else will get done that day! You have a tough, kick ass heroine desperate to escape her situation and then you have some hot and sexy male mc’s to help our heroine or do they? This is entertaining, well paced and full of action, and the twists and turns you will not see coming, there’s also suspense, mystery and I am so excited to carry on with this series.
I really enjoyed this book, I love the whole idea behind it but I admit there were points where I really wanted to throttle Syrus. He acts like such a child in places, but then a serious Alpha in other parts and it kinda gave me whiplash. Miles and Callum I absolutely loved, we have the cute, adorable geeky guys, and then the tough-as-nails, been through a lot, hates the FMCs guts guy and they played off each other really well. But like I say there was just something about Syrus that really annoyed me.
I want to know more about these characters, and see if Syrus will settle down as I enjoyed the book as a whole and I need to know what happens next.
After a rocky start, this book finally came into its own about 20% in and from that point on it was hard to put down. Amira started off kind of (sorry) boring and whiny but once her character settled I really liked her. As for the men, her "mate" is the worst. Syrus, Callum, Miles and Ragnaron are all fascinating and I can't wait to learn more about them and see how their relationships with Amira develop.
Amira is a half breed who knows nothing but pain and heartache. After being rejected she finds herself with three alphas a males. Her life gets even more complicated with them and she can't seem to catch a break. A lot of interesting twists and turns in this book. Can't wait for the next book
Great book, it’s got fantastic characters that have depth and well thought out back stories. I love the way Taylor writes, with such emotion and detail you fall into the story and the real world cones to a stand still. This storyline is so unique, with a pack of shifters living underground and really not having any understanding of what is occurring up on the ground level. I really enjoyed the differences to packs and also how there are references to characters from Taylor’s previous series in this book. Overall a great read, with a excellent cliff hanger that leaves you demanding more. I can’t wait to read the next book.
What a wonderful plot that had me unable to put the book down. I seriously need more especially with that bomb that was dropped at the end. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Omg I really loved this book. The characters are all so well written and with the added pov from the guys. Helps build such an amazing storyline with many twists some I didn't see coming and some I did. To then to come to such a shocking ending that I'm not sure what will happen in the next book. But I know I can't wait to find out. With the level of hotness in the Alphas you will realise why. Totally recommend
Amira is a wolf shifter who has basically been enslaved underground for her whole life, and has been treated like crap by the other hole shifters. . She is fierce, snarky, and resilient. I really liked her, she has a plan to escape and doesn’t let the others bring her down. After her escape, she is kidnapped by 3 shifters, who are cursed and at war with another Alpha. I really loved Miles, but I’m torn on Syrus and Callum - they have a few good moments, but they are also kind of jerks. They all have their own secrets, and I felt for Amira who is trying to figure out a whole new world on the surface. I’m kind of hoping Ragnaron is a good guy and not a villain - or a villain turned good guy 🤞 This story has twists, turns, action, steam, and fun :) I can’t wait for book 2
I really enjoyed this authors Poison Penitentiary series so I had high hopes for this book. However I found I struggled reading it at times because the voice of the book felt really young. I had to put it down a couple times and read something else and come back to it. The characters almost seemed to act like they were in their teens but in adult bodies. It felt like a book for teens with some adult themes thrown in there. I will be reading the next book in the series and seeing if that gets better.
A Wolf Scorned is the first book in the new Blood Moon Shifters series by Taylor Spratt and it was great. I first discovered Taylor because of the Poison Penitentiary series and here we are back in the same world just a few years later following a new group of supernaturals in this paranormal reverse harem.
The story follows Amira Bennet as she discovers her heritage, the truth about the world, and learns her place in it. This story follows the shifters, Amira is a shifter slave, who has lived her whole life underground, literally in a hole, surviving the vampires who control them. She has never been above ground, she hasn't seen the sky, doesn't know what theme park is, what the new world is called, or anything about the government or the supernaturals who inhabit the world. Amaira is a mixed wolf, she has been called half-breed and has been tormented, verbally and physically abused her whole life, the entire pack (except for Riley, her best friend) treats her worst than dirt and she dreams about escaping to the world above. Through all of the abuse, Amaira keeps her head held high, while what they say and do may hurt she doesn't simply let them get away with it she does have a mouth and she uses it. Amaira's who never really had friends, sure she had Riley in the underground but I don't think Riley really got it at first but I am glad to say that she ends up surprising me in the best way. Not to mention the friends that Amaira made in the blood moon pack. not gonna lie I so thought that the two girls were up to no good and weren't true friends but I'm glad I was wrong and hope to see them again.
The relationships in this reverse harem are beyond complicated, there is the alpha who rejected Amira who is a complete and utter asshole, Logan was cruel and disgusting in his actions towards her. The guy had serious issues if thought what he planned was any kinda life, the fact that he thought what he planned on doing was okay was wrong on too many levels to ever forgive. Next, it's the alphas of the blood moon shifters, Syrus who is a manipulator, Callum the grump who threatens Amaira's life every chance he gets, and then it's Miles who I have to admit, is a sweetheart who I can't help but melt for. In the beginning, they are less than trustworthy, how things came about was not good but trust builds until that is blown to hell. The guys are obviously attracted to her and things are changing between them but the trust can only go so far when it's obvious that they are keeping something from her. Not to mention there is another player in the game that has his eye on Amaira, all of them want her for their own selfish reasons.
I loved the fact that this story is set in the same world as Poison Penitentiary, that previous the characters were mentioned and a familiar face makes an appearance. It's interesting getting a closer look into the shifters that inhabit this world, what their culture is like, the religion, the packs, and how it all works. Amaira living life underground and then seeing the world through her new and curious eyes add a special element to the story. Having her figure how things work above ground and her trying to navigate relationships made for an interesting read. What else is interesting is the other male character who joins the story, I honestly don't know what to make of him. Sure he wants something but is he really bad, he's hot as heck, he's treated her better than any of the males so far so I'm conflicted about him but I can't wait to see more of him in the next book.
A Wolf Scorned was a fun read filled with shady alpha males, a strong female lead, a whole new look at shifter magic, sexual tension, mystery, and more. Amaira is only learning about who she is and is starting to realize she may be stronger than she knows. The story ended on one heck of a cliffhanger that has me asking what's gonna happen next?
Amira is a young half-breed wherewolf, living by herself without any family and scorned and bullied by the people around her. She only has a little bluebird and best friend Riley to keep her company and to make life a little less miserable. Despite all that she refuses to give up, and looks for a way to escape the hole she is forced to live in, to live life the way she wants and longs for.
This book managed to surprise me, because it felt like I read something I haven't read before. The only problem is that I can't really pinpoint why I was left with that feeling. It has known tropes as bully (not from the harem), shifters, rejected mates, a little enemies to lovers, alphaholes, betrayal, ... And still the mix of all of them left me with an "oh joy, this feels like something completely new"- feeling. Maybe because I honestly don't know which of the men I want her to end up with? Or even who the author plans on being with her in the end?
I liked Amira; she did not have a lot of luck in her young life and I truly hope life may turn around for her. The author manages to make her into a believable character; both young and naïve, as well as scarred by her past. The guys are... meh... I am counting on a lot of grovelling in the next book(s). I only like Miles: he sounds like a real cutie, so I am a current member of "team Miles".
This book managed to keep me hooked and I am allready looking forward to the next one in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved how this book is set in the epic world of Dominion and there are references and apparels from characters from Poision Penitentiary.
Taylor continues to world build in amazing detail and the juxtaposition between the dark, dank life of servitude led by the hole shifters contrasts with the freedom, colour and variety of forna that those above ground get, namely the Blood Moon pack.
The FMC Amira comes alive instantly and I loved her snark and strength of character. She has such mental strength and fortitude that she is able to go on day after day no matter what abuse her pack throw her way. She is strong in the face of adversity and takes hit after hit no matter what is thrown her way .... and trust me there's is so much sh!!t thrown her way I'm amazed she's still standing after that final whopper.
There are so many guys who play pivotal roles in this 1st book but not one of them is truly genuine they are all working to use Amira for their own gain. She gets glimpses of kindness from Miles, Callum, Syrus and Ragnaron but nothing is ever what it seems. Logan the big bad hol alpha, well let's just say he lives where he deserves and no more shall be said about him.
Amiras story gripped me, shocked and surprised me and letf me wanting more.... Taylor please feed my addiction!!!
I started reading this book in the early hours of the morning and I was utterly enthralled and captivated! I felt like someone who hadn't eaten in days as I devoured this book, each chapter whetting my appetite more and more! I'm completely in love with Amira, what a stunning character! All she ever wanted was freedom but she was stuck underground as a wolf shifter with the rest of the pack, at the mercy not only of the Vampires who siphon off their powers but at the mercy of the entire pack who have branded her as a half breed. They delight in making her life as miserable as possible. Enter Sirus, a stunning alpha who helps her escape, or has he? As delighted as she is to have gotten away, she feels something is amiss. She soon learns that the entire Blood Moon pack is in jeopardy and apparently she has the power to save them. This book is so skillfully written, so thrilling, so utterly captivating! There are twists and turns throughout and there is lots of steam but in such a way, that had me rooting for Amira, then for Miles, then for Sirus, then for...you get the message! It became more and more exciting as the story progressed and on the last page, I was literally saying, no no no no, I want more! Oooooo what a read!
Amira is a half-blood wolf living among the hole shifters underground. On the surface world, vampires live and steal their energy to help keep things powered. No one likes her, except her bestie, Riley. She is constantly berated, hit, bullied, and more. When it comes time for the goddess Selene to match mates…in a turn of shocking events, they match her with their Alpha Logan, who quickly rejects her! Secretly, he has her taken to the dungeon to use as he sees fit…but she escapes with the help of another male wolf, Syrus. Turns out, he is an Alpha of the Blood Moon wolves and their oracle prophesied she is the one to break their curse. Amira is also half witch! She knows nothing of her past but will she find out? And if she does, why would it affect her relationship with the Blood Moon Alphas? So, just when things were beginning to get cozy…another Alpha takes her! Only, now what? A new series by an incredible author so full of twists and turns your head will be spinning~ Amira is quite taken with so many incredibly hot Alphas and they all want her! She will soon learn though everything is not as it always seems and her next move will determine what happens to a cursed pack, four Alphas and one soon-to-be Alpha and herself…who will she choose to save?
Where do I start? So this book starts of really good. I got sucked in because I wanted to know why she was living underground, her wolf has yet to present herself, she has to show up the the mating ceremony to find out if she is getting a mate. So yeah that all takes place in the beginning and then everything goes sideways. She wants to escape but unfortunately her mate the alpha locks her up but basically out right says she will not be his mate in front of the clan. UH OH! Like she wants to be with him anyway. Question though what happens if the mate bond is half complete? Why does she have an attraction to other men? Such as the ones that help her escape? Yeah I get that they are hot and stuff but how can she still want them? Then we get more information about Amira and her heritage. Like what in the world is going on? What secrets are these guys hiding? Then another wolf shows up and kidnaps her. Is what Ragnaron say about her heritage is true? Is she getting duped? I mean she acts tough but it seems as though she is just wanting to be loved and trusted. I mean my head was spinning by the time I got to the end of the book. I have so many questions and hopefully we will get answers soon.
As another reviewer mentioned, the voice felt a little young, which is why I originally put this down after only reading the first couple of chapters and read two other books. I eventually came back to this book and finished it.
I thought the author built some decent chemistry between her characters even though there wasn’t much relationship development.
I kept getting pulled out of the story because this is supposed to be some advanced future but they felt like characters from a cartoonish period piece. When they were upset, they’d shake their fists at people or above their heads. Whenever people had to think about something, they’d pinch their chin and look skyward. I’ve only seen people do that sort of thing on tv/in movies but perhaps I’m just around different types of people.
This is minor-ish but it really bugged me that “genuinity” and “witchly” were used in actual sentences and not as part of someone’s dialogue to illustrate a character’s misuse of words.
I was willing to overlook these things because the story was interesting enough and was planning to continue the series when the next book came out, then the last page happened. It was too much of a stretch for me and I’m gonna pass on going forward.
I love her new take on a shifter book and I knew it was t going to be your usual book from her penitentiary series which I absolutely love.
The characters are great, I love their banter, dynamic and it’s fascinating watching them navigate through everything and learn to work as a team and get a long. I love their unique characteristics, it really sets them apart which makes it easy to differentiate between who is who. I really enjoy how seamless Taylor makes blending the characters learning how to work together and learn how to become mates while also keeping the plot going throughout. Often times I see books focus on the relationship aspect and completely forget the plot until little moments come up to remind us that there is an actual story line.
The plot is great and is moving at a steady pace, I love the element of mystery and intrigue. Usually with paranormal every thing is just out in the open from the start but I love how we learn things as the characters do. It makes for a very compelling and engaging read. The world build is great much like the penitentiary series nothing is what you would expect and I love that. It’s creative and original which is exciting. Can’t wait to see what she has for us next in book 2.
