I didn't like any of these characters. The H is judgemental, she's arrogant and his little girl was mean. They are sort of forced to marry, he begrudges her everything, while indulging his spoiled daughter. The plot was overwrought and while I finished it, it was almost DNF.

- I liked it! Which is a surprise considering how much I struggled with #1.
- The story needed a hard edit. There was so much antagonism at the beginning, that I was wondering how will these two make it work.
- It was difficult to digest Rhys's behaviour for most of the book, he was so horrible to Isabel, that I felt sorry for her. Then came the absolute turnabout in their behaviour, which was a little confusing.
- The flow was sound, but a few key aspects needed to be fleshed out and some needed to be curtailed ruthlessly!
- More from Ms Bosque in future!

I have really loved Sadie Bosque books. I just found her in June, 2021 and have really enjoyed reading all her books. This is my 7th book by her. I have loved the storylines and characters.

It always amazing how many couples from Regency era if they only communicated with each better how many issues would be solved. HaHa..who am I kidding, it’s the same today. Communication people. 😊

I really enjoyed reading about Rhys and Isabel. I actually couldn’t put this book down and read it in a few hours. Such chemistry. Love the extra ending. Just a great overall read.

I would definitely recommend this book. And all her books.

I received a free copy from BookSprout and this is my freely given opinion.

This is the 4th in the Necessary Arrangements series, and is the story of Isabel, the older sister of Samantha, from book two. She was resolved to being a spinster after having been jilted by her fiancee years prior, during a horrible period of her life. She was in her early 20s, engaged, when she found out one of her brothers died, and shortly afterwards, she also lost her mother. During this time, when she could have used some loving support, her fiancee disappears and she finds out later that he married someone else. What was his excuse for his betrayal? Years later, he seeks her out at a ball and confronts her to "seek her forgiveness" and tells her that his mother pressured her to marry as she was worried he would be left without a mistress for the estates, as the mother was ill at the time. Gossamer thin excuse, considering he was engaged already to a daughter of a viscount and even if they waited the mourning period, he would have been able to marry her in a years time. So my personal conclusion is that he was just a jerk who wanted someone else for whatever reason and was too much of a coward to tell her to her face. Even worse, his meeting with her to "seek her forgiveness" was actually an attempt to seduce her and convince her to become his mistress.

Classy...

Isabel is understandably stunned, and less than impressed by this suggestion and as the ex tries to physically convince her of his desire, she fights back and during her attempt to escape him, physically crashes into Rhys, the Marquess of Vane, knocking them both to the ground. They are caught in a compromising position by various attendees of the ball including some terrible gossips. Vane has been a social recluse since the death of his wife and was just reentering society to seek a wife for an heir, care for his estates, and his daughter. His first marriage left him with some terrible emotional scarring and a deep distrust of women, but also the rumours persisted that his behaviour somehow lead to her death. But both Isabel and Vane are aware of the damage to their reputations that could occur with the gossip from their compromise, and he makes a less than romantic proposition for marriage. Isabel refuses, as it was so grossly insulting. But she and her family start suffering social setbacks immediately and she feels forced to re-approach him and marry.

There is a bit of a backstory to their relationship as well, that Isabel is blind to initially as well. Vane knew her when he was a youth, and they were friends. He was a 15 year old in love with the 19 year old Isabel. She just thought of him as a brotherly friend, who later disappeared from her life. He had witnessed something that gave him the impression that she was wanton, and he severed the friendship, but he never forgot about her. More emotional baggage that he carried forward, that she was unaware of.

Their relationship starts out with a lot of conflict, including all his emotional baggage. Isabel tries to be a good wife and estate mistress, but it is an uphill climb as Vane shows demonstrable contempt, disrespect, and lack of trust towards her from the beginning. Vane is a terrible communicator and tosses all his distrust of women and scars from his previous marriage at her feet. This undermines her status as the mistress of the household and the estate. She is not only treated terribly by her husband, but also by her stepdaughter, the household staff, and the villagers. Even when he realizes this, he still treats her terribly. I felt that a large portion of the story was spent on his negligence of her or when they are engaged in any relationship, his coldness and contemptuous treatment of her. I would not have blamed her if she just abandoned him since he seemed to abhor her being in his life and left her in so much despair. During this portion, I was almost ready to give up on the book - his treatment of her was just abominable. But it also speaks to his own insecurity and how his previous relationship, and perceived losses, so negatively affected him.

But slowly, he and his daughter open up to her and they learn that she is not as he thought she was, or anything like his previous wife. Their relationship grows, and they learn to be open to each other as a couple and become a family. It was a brutal bumpy start, but that makes the end that much more worth it, despite several large, rough patches along the way. The rough start made the HEA that much more satisfying. I did however feel that a disproportionate amount of the story was focused on his mistrust and consequent ill treatment of Isabel, and the race to their happiness was quite short and rapid. But otherwise, it was a satisfying enemies to friends/lovers romance.

Four stars out of 5.

Perfection

Let me start by saying that I definitely couldn't stop reading this story once I started it. And I'm glad Sadie took her time with this story because it's just amazing like the rest of her books. This is a enemies to lovers story. Isabella is a force to be reckoned with. Millie is adorable, Button well what can I say? He is a big dog who thinks he is a little puppy. Then there's Rhys who is shy quiet and just wants a proper wife. But then he finds himself finding that his wife even with a bit of scandalous past she is the one he wants. And with the help of some family and friends he and she both find that they can make their marriage work and be a force to reckon with together.

I look forward to the next book by Sadie

An Offer from the Marquess, by Sadie Bosque. Oh what a beautiful love story. I really didn’t want the romantic love story to end. I am just in awe how this story caught my attention and channeled all my emotions of a happy ending for Rhys and Isabel. The writer was superb with the story and the background stories of extended family and friends.
I was pleased that the writer focused most of the story on Rhys and Isabel’s relationship. The story shared the many trials and hills that the couple had to climb before they finally understood what the other person means to them. Millicent and Button already new, but they wanted to have a say so in this most intriguing relationship that Rhys and Isabel has found themselves on. The story was wonderfully written. As I kept reading the story, for me it felt as though the story continued to get better and better.
The writer did a great job of giving me a story that I played out in my mind. The strong sensations of passion and lust, burns a fire in the bedroom of Rhys and Isabel. Behind closed doors the couple realizes the unbearable need to be connected to one another. During these moments Rhys and Isabel work hard on their relationship, to bring it to the fruition that they wish to have together. I loved the raw emotions in the story.
I loved the will to not give up on the person you believe in.There are few parts in the story that caught me by surprise, but this only added to my need to find out what will happen next. My fellow members I recommend this story with two snaps and a twist. Until next… read on!

Most books go down hill in a series, no book is any better than the first but when it comes to this series, that couldn’t be further from the truth. I loved reading this book and after meeting Rhys in Evie and Gabriel’s story, I can say that I am over the moon that he was the man to give Isabel a happy ever after.

No family is perfect and when it comes to the Gage family, those words ring true. Each sister has had some of scandal, and the brothers are known for certain things too, and yet because of those moments, the family continues to grow stronger each time.

Isabel is known as a spinster and was content in living the rest of her life as a single woman who had no children of her own, so when she fell on top of Rhys, it was quite a surprise to her, but it was the best kind of surprise. I love that the two old ladies caught them because it meant the idea of marriage had to be considered!

Can we just talk about Rhys? Rhys is possibly the grumpiest man in the entire series but when he’s talking to his daughter, my ovaries were going all over the place. HE WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL DAD. He wasn’t perfect, some of the ways he acted made me want to headbutt a wall, but he truly meant no harm, he just wanted the best for his daughter, even if he was to get hurt in the process.

Millicent was a character I couldn’t stand at first, but as time progressed, so did her character and it was understandable to why she acted the way that she did. The only man she has ever known randomly bought another woman into her life, it’s understandable to why she would be so closed off, but the relationship that progressed between her and Isabel had me so happy.

I loved loved loved the plot twist to do with Rhys as it wasn’t something I expected OR considered, I feel like it was a great way to portray a certain message, and Isabel was so good to Rhys within that moment.

I loved everything about this book and I truly hope Millie gets her own book in a different series because I’d love to see how her life ends up!

This is an awesome book that entices you to be mad for more than just the irrepressible thing.
The story is one that entices you to do more than just read it.
Rhys and Isabel are meant to be.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Isabel and Rhys. He has a daughter Millicent who is 6 and a Newfoundland dog Buttons.

The intro to this book is started in the previous book and is just awesome and funny “I suppose our work here is done… Congratulations, we’ve just found you a wife.”

He wants a wife. She crashes into him at the ball causing a scandal with her skirt partially up and them laying on the ground. Well now… He’s got a wife… only she’d rather eat maggots than marry him… only now her refusal is ruining her brothers’ lives. So she approaches him again to accept the horrible proposal.

Meanwhile they had met when she was 19 and he 15… they hung out for years… only she knew him by a different name and he was so young she doesn’t put 2 and 2 together- he fell in love with her and when he turned 19 he came back to court her only to find her with another guy. This other guy is her only time with a guy and he leaves her shortly after for someone else. She is devastated.

Rhys is wretched to her, his daughter hates her, the villagers dislike her and the servants talk about her… I felt soooooo horrible for her. Everyone was so mean - especially him - he calls her scandalous and believes she has lots of affairs. He does nothing to make his daughter nice. The daughter is a brat and needs to be told no… he eventually sees he is cause for the disrespect - makes things better with the servants - he doesn’t do much with the daughter though - we are supposed to just think this daughter is the sweetest thing but she is just bratty. Millicent at one point does sic the dog on Isabel and is made to apologize but other than that she is basically allowed to walk all over Isabel. And he is so disrespectful of Isabel - he eventually becomes better but I feel like he never apologizes enough for how he has acted.

I enjoyed the tension in the beginning but he did become very unreasonable at times. The tension buildup lasts a while - he accuses her of being pregnant already so won’t have sex with her. She yearns so for a child. They finally do get together and it is pretty quick and she isn’t fully satisfied. They both aren’t open about their needs. They both want to have sex again that night but aren’t able to communicate. Her friend gives her some sex instruction cards and this helps them along immensely after he finds them. Their time after this is pretty hot🔥❤️🔥

Part of this story saddens me… it turns out he is probably sterile- though she is 30 so it could be that but that isn’t that old - but Millicent is not his child. Isabel was intent on being a spinster until she bumped into Rhys but her one drive for getting married is to have children. I was really saddened that it turned out they had no children. Isabel does say she was content before him to be a spinster but I just wished maybe it could of been different for them. She speaks about how happy she was as a child with her 4 brothers and sister… and wanting something similar. She does have Rhys and Millicent who both love her…

This is the 7th book that I’ve read from this author, and I have to say I will never get tired of her writing. Bosque never fails to pull me into each book, making me fall head over heels for the characters every single time.

This story is a roller-coaster of emotions and I am here for it! This story follows Isabel and Rhys – the Marquess of Vane – as they quite literally fall together and are forced to marry to avoid certain scandal.

Isabel has been a mother figure in her family’s life since the tragedy they suffered years ago which meant she gave up on her dreams of starting her own family and finding a love of her own. As a spinster she has zero prospects or expectation of marriage or family expect her own. But her life changed irrevocably the moment she fell into the grumpy reclusive Marquess of Vane. The marquess was looking for a wife though he never expected it to be Isabel - the women he loved as a young boy that he harboured mixed feelings about. Their chaotic fall forced the two together but by no means was it easy. Isabel and Rhys are both very stubborn and Isabel refuses to be cowed and Rhys refuses to trust her.

Rhys carries the traumas of his past with him and sees Isabel as another reiteration of the scandalous, unfaithful, and untrustworthy first wife. Luckily Isabel is good at perseverance and is determined to win him, his daughter, the tenants, the servants, and anyone else who doubts her over.

Rhys is quite horrible to Isabel and I have to admit I admire Isabel’s restraint in not slapping him repeatedly! Rhys did make it up to her eventually and I enjoyed watching him slowly warm up to her and realise how wonderful she is. He was overprotective of his daughter Millie and his love for her was so beautiful. Millie was a character that grew on me the more she accepted Isabel - I loved seeing their relationship develop, it was such a beautiful storyline.

Overall, I absolutely adored Isabel and Rhys’s story, the angst, forced marriage enemies to lovers vibes were perfection. I really felt for Isabel but loved seeing her push through and keep coming back stronger. The romance was sweet and heartfelt and made all the more beautiful as Rhys’s daughter played such an important part of it. I hope we get to see Millie take on the world in a future book!

Thank you to the author and booksprout for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. All thoughts are my own.

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

Will they be able to overcome their differences to begin again …

I am always astonished by the author’s talent to craft moving emotional tales about flawed characters.
There is no other way to put it but Rhys was a prick to Isabel. He treated like she was manure and did not deserve respect all because of one ill fated encounter she is not even aware about.
Isabel has been the mother figure of her family from the moment they lost their parents and sibling. It did came with a cost, she had to bury her dreams of a family as her betrothed deserted her to marry another and by taking on the duties of her mother, she is now well settled on the shelf, with few to no prospect outside spinsterhood.
She is no scandalous prone lady, she walks the line and followed the rules from the moment of her coming out.
Rhys has been unlucky in love, so much it makes him more than wary of women. Why he is so cruel with Isabel, determined to put her under a tainted light, she is the personification to him of everything he abhors, fickle, unfaithful, irresponsible.
But as another scandal is brewing, he sees no other way than to accept this walking disgrace into his nest.

How many times I would have bashed Rhys on the skull, how lucky for him, Isabel is resilient and forgiving. Sure he has reason to be cautious but none to make her the bearer of his late wife’s sins, nor to address her as if she was undeserving of any regard.
And while he did not really grovel, he made up for his ill advised treatment.

The book wasn't bad per se, but the characters ruined it for me, read on for a slightly spoiler-y review:

The book opens with our FL, a 30 something spinster (with a previous broken engagement) attending a ball. While there she is accosted and propositioned by her ex lover / fiance, manages to escape him and runs head first into the ML. They are discovered in a heap and she's effectively "compromised".

It gets worse from there. From the moment they meet the ML treats her TERRIBLY. His proposal is insulting and she refused initially but eventually gives in and asks him to marry her when she sees how her ruined reputation is hurting her siblings so they end up married.

Once married it just gets worse! He treats her with contempt, constantly flinging her past relationship in her face, accusing her of trying to cuckold him and even of carrying another man's child. To make matters worse he does nothing to ingratiate her with the staff / his tenants and everyone treats her poorly as a result especially his 6 year old daughter.

We're supposed to like Millie (the daughter) but I HATED her! She's spiteful, rude, unmannered and even tries to purposely hurt the FL in one scene, a fact her father ignores. He does nothing to discipline her or help them bond and it drove me nuts.

Anyway it all continues with him treating her like crap and then randomly the ML does a 360 and is totally in love with her, they sleep together and all is well. Except it's not. There's a scene where she calls him back to the house after something happens to his daughter and he loses his mind on her and smashes a few plates as if the whole situation was her fault.... Yikes. The big twist we find out is that it turns out they knew each other and were friends as kids where he had a huge thing for her but he comes across her having sex with her fiance and basically proceeds to shame her for it until he "falls in love" with her. She never knew he saw her and he was younger than her and never made his affection known so basically he was hating her for something she had no knowledge/ control over.

The book continues and they have sex, it's not particularly good for her and magically the daughter loves her all of a sudden. He was totally not focused on her! From The book descriptions you can tell she doesn't have a lot of sexual experience etc. And he doesn't really try to make it good for her or reassure her, just expects that she's so "experienced" UGH.

The book ends by telling us *SPOILER* that his daughter is actually not his and he's sterile, this killed it for me because we saw how much the FL wanted kids to begin with / it was part of why she marries him. Ugh. It just didn't do it for me and his childishness and cruelty / shaming of her early on really ruined it for me.

>>Don't you just love it when you make expectations of a book and said book meets them! This was me with this book I strated it hoping it would be my favorite in this series and matter of fact IT IS, it had my most delicious tropes marriage of convenience and single parent trope which is my guilty pleasure.

>>Let's start with the fmc to be honest she was annoying oh my lord! and a hypocrite to which enraged me quite a bit specificaly when it came to the mmc's daughter calling her a wild creature and what's not when we look at the fmc's past wild would is the least way you can describe it with and this right here didn't sit well with me + the fact that she was supposed to be this calm cool minded smart woman from what I have seen from the other books but here she was the total opposite of it?! specialy when she didn't realize that the mmc was infact the boy she met when she was 19? that's peak idiocy and her sudden friendship with evie was so abrupt what do you mean they became close enough for evie to send her erotic playcards?

>>Now to my beloved marquess I've never thought I'd love a mmc more than a fmc but here we are this man was everything I was hoping he'd be a good father a good husband(not in the first weeks of the marriage but still) and a good lord and I adore him for that.

>>The thing I adore the most about this book was the perfect balance between lust and feelings like you can tell that the man loves her and desire her seperately, the first chapters where they hated eachother and when he bakced her into the tree and kissed her made feel like dinos are running rampage in my body and rarely books make feel that which makes want to give this book 5stars but the fmc was annoying for that to happen.

>>so basically yeah this book was everything I hoped it would be and much more <3

Isabel is quite contented to be a spinster after a broken betrothal ruined all her dreams of a love match some years ago. But an unfortunate accident at a ball leaves her compromised and forced to marry… And the arrogant, albeit handsome, Marquess of Vane is literally the last man in the world she would choose as her husband!
Rhys has retired to the country with his daughter after a scandal that has marred his name. Now he wants nothing but to find a plain, sweet and capable wife to help him with his estates and his daughter. He certainly doesn’t need a scandalous woman who stirs his desire and brings disruption in his quiet life…
I must admit that at the beginning I disliked both characters: Rhys’s attitude toward Isabel was childish, petty and frankly abominable and Isabel was much too proper, quite obsessed with her perceived duties as hostess and lady of the house. But I liked the fact that both characters grew during the book and that there was a real development in their relationship. Quite often in the marriage of convenience trope this development is overlooked or starts when the characters make love, while here they get to know each other first and I found it much more realistic.
I also liked that they both were not very experienced in sexual matters and they decided to improve that side of their marriage together.
The author is always good at finding the right words to vividly describe feelings and she did it exceptionally well in this book. Definitely a must read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Doing the Right Thing . . .

Miss Isabel Lewis sacrificed her own potential happiness to care for her siblings when their parents died. Doing the right thing put her on the shelf. At a ball, an inadvertent fast turn into the hall as she was hurrying away to avoid her former betrothed caused her to collide with a tall man. Both fell tangled to the floor just as the ballroom door opened and their scandalous position sealed their fate. Now she must marry a man she has no interest in or spend her life as a ruined lady.

Rhys, the Marquess of Vane has avoided society for a long time now. His wife ran off with her lover and left him with his young daughter. He now needs to find a proper lady as mother for her. He doesn’t want love or affection. He has been hurt by women and is done with them. But for his daughter, he needs to make the sacrifice. Unexpectedly colliding with Miss Isabel at the ball puts them in a compromising position and means that he must offer for her hand in marriage. His life will never be the same. Does he remember her from the past? Does she remember him? Will they be able to fall in love or just tolerate each other? Will that be enough for Isabel to stay?

This was a wonderful story line that takes control of the reader’s emotions and really makes you care about what happens to the characters. Grab your copy and see if Isabel and Rhys find the happiness they deserve.

At the age of 31, Miss Isabel Lewis has decided to become a spinster and go live on one of her brother's country estates. However while attending a ball and trying to get away from her former betrothed, Lord Stanhope, she runs into a gentleman and they end up tangled together on the floor just as the ballroom doors open. Thomas Rhys Townsend, the Marquess of Vane had coming to the ball looking for a wife, but this is not how he expected his evening to go. The Marquess offers a proposal and Isabel refuses it. After people start sending refusals to her brother, Viscount Richard' Gage's betrothal ball and then he receives a note from his betrothed father says he refuses the engagement, Isabel goes to see the Marquess to accept his proposal. Isabel doesn't remember Rhys, but he remembers her and a crush he had on her when he was just a teenager. The Marquess has been married before and has a six year old daughter that his wife left behind when she ran off with her lover. Will this be a tragedy or a romance? You will have to find that answer by reading this story and finding out new things as your turns the pages.

This has been a great series & I enjoyed this story of the Marquess of Vane & Miss Isabel Lewis. I loved Isabel from the beginning as she was forced into taking on the role of mother to her siblings after their parents died & now, she is happily on the shelf. Vane is widower, father of a five-year-old daughter & Button (his hilarious, wild Newfie), has stayed away from society for years but now he needs a proper, compatible lady to be his wife and mother to his daughter.

I won't go over the story as it's cheating the reader but let me say that the story grabs your interest immediately & keeps you quickly turning pages The End. It is a great story, with wonderful characters that have you laughing, teary eyed, sighing & smiling throughout the book. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.

Your past and present

Isabel and Rhys whose first name is Thomas are quite a pair! Isabel was running from one man and literally fell into Rhys and of course the biggest gossip of the Ton saw them and off to get married right? Nope both fought against it until they couldn't!
Rhys was so dismissive and disrespectful of Isabel I think she should have ran away!? She stayed and earned the respect of the staff and the villagers and eventually his daughter!
These two have history but only one of them remembers it. I like to think celibacy wasn't good for Rhys but these things happen and the future was still unwritten! When these two mostly Rhys asked questions and stopped growling they may get a HEA. It didn't look the the traditional future but love finds a way! Well all Isabel brothers need a story! Bravo!

It starts out as a very combative relationship but turns into love. The heroine has resigned herself to being a spinster at 31. Then an innocent crash into a marquess leads to a proposal excepted, rejected and accepted again to save her family’s reputation. The hero is looking for a non-scandalous wife and runs into a woman he had a crush on in his teens, but has since thought as being free with her favors. Slowly they work things out, but it takes a lot of determination on the woman’s part. The child and dog add dimension to the story. It is part of a series, but could be read by itself without too much problem.

Thank you very much to author Sadie Bosque for the ARC! I've read a few of her books and this one might be the best one yet. Isabel is basically forced to marry the Marquess of Vane. The situation is totally awful. The Marquess has a wild daughter and a disobedient Newfie. To make matters worse, he is also suspected of murdering his first wife. However, despite all of these obstacles, love manages to win in the end.
Isabel and Vane's relationship starts out at a slow simmer and then turns boiling hot. Additionally, there is lots of humor in this story, as well as a few secrets. I highly recommend this book and I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.

This is book 4 in the Necessary Arrangements series. This is a standalone. I enjoyed this book. I loved the dog and his part in the book. This book is about Miss Isabel Lewis and Rhys, The Marquess of Vane. Rhys needs a new wife for his daughter, though he doesn't seem to trust any women! Isabel wants a marriage based on love. Circumstances throw them together and they are forced to marry. Isabel just wants to be loved and have a family of her own, Rhys can't seem to trust Isabel. It was great seeing their marriage progress and old hurts put to rest. I love epilogues and this one has one...though I wish there was a little more of a surprise in it (without giving anything away).

I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.

Intriguing storyline & characters

The fourth book in this very enjoyable series is slower to a happily ever after than some of the previous books but it’s romance is ultimately endearing. Both Rhys and Isabelle can be argumentative and abrupt and I found their characterizations believable if less than perfect. The author does a wonderful job of creating chemistry and tension between the couple and had me hoping for a positive outcome to their relationship. The use of a past connection between the heroine and the hero was an intriguing addition to the storyline. I enjoyed that the book includes two short epilogues, a feature that I especially appreciate. I am looking forward to catching up with the characters of this book in the future books in the series.

I’m not sure any book could top Evie and St James.
This was good though. Several reviewers were harsh about Rhys, but his life has been nothing but turmoil, and caused by women.
He loved Isabel when he was very young. Seeing her compromised by Stanhope devastated him. His marriage devastated him. My guess is the truth about his beloved Millie devastated him. So, don’t be so harsh.
Isabel has been the height of propriety in all the books. To find she had teenage mishaps was surprising.
Rhys is hard and judgmental. He had right to be.
It’s not the best, but it’s still a good one.

This is one delightful read from start to finish. Isabel Lewis’ reputation is shattered when she is left at the altar. At 31 yr old, she is well on the shelf until a collision with Rhys, the Marquess of Vane, at a ball necessitates a marriage of convenience. Rhys is one angry hero, having being left with a young daughter to raise when his wife runs off. But passion blooms between Rhys and Isabel;, throw in a rambunctious little girl and a crazy big dog, and you have one enjoyable read

A marriage of convenience

Oh my goodness, this was brilliant. What with the witty and sarcastic banter between Rhys and Isabel, the undeniable chemistry and the fact that he had loved her from afar, made for such an amazing read. There were times I wanted to box his ears for assuming things that were far from the truth but it just added that extra layer of angst to their love story.

Would totally recommend reading this book. Has a high steam level even though it is a slow burn love story. Don’t let that put you off.

When your former fiancée suddenly marries someone else without a word to you while you are in mourning. Then years later approaches you at a ball and informs you his marriage is unhappy. To muddy the water further, he offers to make you his mistress! Upon escaping from his unwelcome advances, you crash into an unknown gentleman. Knocking you both to the ground. Seen by several gossiping old ladies who make much todo over the incident, you end up married to a stranger. Who has been a recluse since the death of his wife.

Is marriage worse than being a spinster?
Okay this marriage did not start of well at all and it kind of got worse. Is there any hope for it to get better? The characters do enjoy going at each other and you add some painful things from the past and you have a very interesting tale. I enjoyed the characters Millie was such a darling, the story flowed well and I liked all the twists it was a good book.I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
