Welcome to chaos…

My life is falling apart, it’s unraveling at the seams. One second I’m an ordinary college girl living her best-broke-boring life with her bestie…the next I’m being hunted.

Maybe I shouldn’t have talked to him. Maybe I shouldn’t have flirted. Maybe I should have known human boys don’t look like that. But I’m drawn to him like a moth to a flame. I can’t look away from those eyes. My feet carry me toward him whether I want them to or not.

I’ve never been afraid of the dark but now something lurks in the night and I don’t know if I can out run it.

The Court beckons you...but brace yourselves for an adventure with the fae in The Night Realm: Court Marked Trilogy!

*Disclaimer: Court Marked is Season TWO in The Night Realm Series. Fatal Fae can be read as a standalone but contains some spoilers for Season One - Magic Marked (book 1 - Midnight Mage)

Wishing for some freshness

I didn't care for this book myself. Its action packed, and had a ton going on. dont get me wrong, but the story dragged a bit to much for me. I found myself bored and began skimming pages here and there. Definitely a YA with silly bro, Broooo, bro! Constantly. It becomes over the top after awhile. I'll confess, I'm really over the freaking out, bile rising, the whole " tell me right now what's going on! Freak out. Its so predictable, so old. I'm dying for a fresh new take on literally anything at the moment. But its just rinse repeat over and over to the point of just not wanting to read anymore

I read all of the Coven books by this author and for the most part enjoyed them. I cannot say the same for this. I’ve barely started and if I read the words “Bro” or “Imma” once more I fear for the life of my Kindle. This is why I try to avoid teen and young adult novels, although I will say that I don’t know any teens IRL that can’t put together an intelligible sentence.

Ok

More of a pre teen book than young adult. I found the MC to be flat and the bad guys were typically evil. And for heavens sake nobody says imma unless its a joke.

Great start to a new series! Fatal Fae is the first book in the Night Realm: Court Marked series by best friends Chandelle LaVaun and Megan Montero. If you haven’t read The Night Realm: Magic Marked series you will want to as beloved characters and tacos show up in this book.

Collins the MFL was raised as a human due to a random set of circumstances discovers she is anything but. Interestingly enough, her “parents” are very much in the picture and help her navigate the new normal for her. She discovers that the ruling family of the Third Realm is hunting her. Why she has no clue- although she does eventually find out. Collins is calm cool and collective. I love how she is paired with her bestie Tallulah and how they are polar opposite.

Bastien, Prince Bastien really, was sent to find Collins. It was just a job, one that would end with him getting something back he lost. Only once he meets her that is not what happens. He discovers he has to protect her at all cost. The strong silent type, he is not an alpha male that thinks the girl can’t do. Instead he knows how nefarious his family truly is. Bastien really is the sweetest guy ever, he is just really misunderstood.

Loved the chemistry between these two. Collins friendship with Tallulah makes this book. Even if the do say bro too much😂 so many questions left unanswered. The cliffhanger ending is just wow! When does the next book come out?

Fatal Fae

The besties have done it again. This is the first book in a new series, set in the same world as their other one but with a new cast of characters. Collins has been raised in the human world with no clue that magic is real, until one fateful night when everything changes.
There's a whole lot of things going on in a short amount of time, so make sure you buckle up. Because you are in for one heck of a ride

They've done it again!

When you combine 2 authors who individually write amazing stories, with the characters and kingdom's of their imagination, you get one hell of a 5 star read.
This co-written book has been well worth the wait, for the introduction to new characters, combined with the reminder of those previously known to the reader, it flows seamlessly and pulls you fully into the story.
No spoilers here, but I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Has everything you expect in a fae book!

There are tricks, torture, and soul mates. I absolutely love this addition to the night realm. There are all kinds of surprises in store for Collins & her best friend. I can't spell her besties name, so don't ask me to. This book is amazing! There are Nephilim, forbidden children and stealing. These two besties work at a casino. They try to get high rollers to spend more money. They are pretty good at it too. Until one day everything goes wrong, I mean everything! A friend lies to them & they end up running from security. Then while their at work a beautiful stranger shows up with blue hair. Collins can barely look away from him. Fast forward to him showing up at her apartment later. Collins freaks out & they head home. There she has a dream about him or did it really happen? Later a girl with pink hair shows up & the casino & weird stuff starts happening. The girls are spotted by a cop. He arrests them. They get out & the pink hair girl tries to kidnap them. Then Collins mom shows up in battle gear flying. Collins is freaking out. Only her mom's not the only one keeping secrets so is her stepdad & her besties mom. Now they are thrust into a world they didn't.know existed. Where there are multiple realms that are dying. One of these girls is the stone keeper for the fae realm. Things do not go as the grown-ups had planned. Is the stone keeper going to be left on her on to discover her magic? Will she find the stone without help? You have to read it to find out!

Not a Standalone

I read this book under the guidelines it was a standalone but the ending doesn't wrap up the story it ends on a 'cliffhanger' to lead into book 2 😩😩
I was worried when it got to 80% that the book wasn't going to get through everything by the end and whilst most things were answered not everything wrapped up...

Collins lives in Vegas with her bestie Tallulah they love living their best broke girl life working in a casino whilst attending college but when a so called friend tricks them they find themselves in hot water with the law. When a mysterious stranger keeps popping up Collins questions whether she's hallucinating or if he's real, hard to say because he never speaks but she definitely feels drawn to him in a way she can't explain.
When she and Tallulah are arrested he's the one to come and break them out but when another turns up and attacks them Collins is unexpectedly thrust into a world she didn't know existed... her mum is not really her mum but a nephilim who protects and keeps her hidden from her real home and place of birth the third realm. Collins is the stone keeper of the third realm and when the realm is dying she is meant to restore it but the queen of chaos doesn't want the stone returned she wants to keep it's power for herself and the only way to do that is to trick Collins into finding it and then steal it from her. The queen of Chaos didn't count of her son Bastien siding with Collins though and he intends to keep her safe from the dangerous clutches of his family.

Fatal Fae

I love how in “Fatal Fae (The Night Realm: Court Marked Book 1” by Chandelle LaVaun and Megan Montero we get to return to the Night Realm and this time around we get to enter the Fae Realm and get to find out about the Stone Keeper of Third Realm. Collins Elliott is an ordinary college girl living her best-broke-boring life with her bestie Tallulah Elliott that is until one day one of their other friends Lilian Gordon lies to them and tricks them into breaking an entry and stealing. Lilian mom Joan Gordon ends up calling the Vaunteros hotline and falsely reporting them in order to cover for her daughter, but in doing so the information gets back to Queen Tephine and she sends her son Prince Bastien to capture Collins and kill her. Once Bash meets Collins he does everything in his power to help her but it’s hard for him to communicate this to her because he doesn’t have a voice due to his sister cursing him 60 years prior. Collins is now on the run for her life and she is finding out that life as she knows it for the past 21 years has been a lie. Will she be able to overcome all of the obstacles in her way, or will evil prevail? Will Bash overcome his hurdles and be able to help Collins, or will his family win in the end? If you want to know what happens I guess that you will have to read “Fatal Fae” to find out what happens.

I was surprised I had trouble getting into the story, but there were so many characters in intense situations in the beginning chapters that I wasn’t sure who I was supposed to root for. But I recommend the Reader stick with it, because this is the start to another exciting magical paranormal adventure. I do however recommend reading the previous Night Realm Series for context, content and characters.

Loved the Bestie relationship of Collins and Tallulah. Great seeing characters from previous series and new friendships and alliances formed. As expected from these authors, the Soulmate magic is developing in an amazing way and their crystal and magical work is well-researched and enthralling. The addition of a few coloured plates were an excellent assist for visuals.

So much happens in this book and as Collins concludes :”…I wanted to be lost in this moment forever, but we have a curse to break, a world to save, and a bestie to rescue.” The next book book in this series is a must buy!! Highly recommend.

Fatal Fae, book 1

Man, I absolutely hate stupid women. And Talulah is the worst. She panics constantly and causes her own problems. Thankfully she’s not the heroine. Collins is the heroine, and a more idiotic name for a girl I’ve yet to hear. Anyway, I actually think I’ve read this before, or something almost exactly like it. I’m not overly excited about this particular plot line but we’ll see how it goes.

I agree with others about the use of bro. You’d have to be pretty much brainless to call your own self bro. Girl I could understand. Bro? Nope…

Collins is too trusting also. I see betrayal in her near future, if she hasn’t already experienced it. I don’t like Jada…

Ok, on to the next one…

Absolutely no words….

I have absolutely no words to describe how amazing these two magical genius authors are. This was a phenomenal start to season two of the night realm. Absolutely adore Collins and Tallulah. #friendshipgoals. It’s fun and witty and just sucks you in from the beginning. Oh my goodness, that cliffhanger though. I’m so excited for the rest of this trilogy. I’ll try to be patient for the next book, but now I don’t even know what to read. Because this may have ruined books for me for a minute with its awesomeness. If you’re still having doubts, go pick up season one. I guarantee you won’t be able to stop once you do.

Wait, I'm fae?

Raised in the human realm, Collins has no idea that there are other realms, much less that she is fae. That is until Prince Bastion comes for her. He can't speak, thanks to one of his sisters stealing his voice. He can't even explain to Collins why he us there. When another of his sisters tries to kidnap or kill Collins, she gets the explanation from her adoptive mom. Collins was brought to the First Realm to keep her safe. As a result, she had no idea she was anything but human. Her mission is to find and bring the Chaos stone back to the Third Realm and save it. Can she, raised as a human, save the realms?

Another great read in the Night Realm series. Megan and Chandelle write together so well, I love their descriptions- people, places and worlds, they are all amazing. This book starts out well and just gets better. Tallulah and Collins are best buddies and are always there for each other, when the party they are at goes sideways it marks the start of something huge, that will impact them in ways they could never have imagined. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

They've done it again!

These two authors are amazing writers! This is one awesome book! It does start out a little slow, but once you get into you can't stop. Collins and Bash are really great characters. I love the crossovers with the characters from the last series. I would suggest reading the Magic Marked series first so you can fully understand everything but it's still great if you don't. I just really loved this and can't wait to see what comes next on this awesome adventure!

The characters are funny, exciting and interesting right off the first page. The imagination of these authors combined is epic. I loved the whole story and I can't wait for the next book in the series. There's an addictive quality to the writing that really has you pulled in and you find yourself not wanting to put the book down. It's a great read, and I wanted to reread as soon as I finished just to stay in the world. Great book, 5 stars!

Embrace the chaos

The besties have introduced us to the next Stone Keeper, and I'm on in. Chandelle and Megan have released the next series in the Night Realm saga. Welcome to the third realm! Doing what these two do best, they combine strong, sassy, and magical female protagonist with amazing friends and family and a story that you can sink into. To make it even more entertaining and enjoyable, the ladies drop in beloved characters from all of the books and novellas. It's a brilliant next step in an already fantastic group of books! And....I for one love a good taco imposter

Stick With It

This one honestly started a bit slow for me. I didn't have the instant connection to Collins, Tellulah, and Bash that I did with Ellie and her gang, but I am all about Fae so I stuck with it and the story got so good once Collins made it to Third Realm and the action really picked up! By the end of the story I was hanging on every sentence and silently begging for it not to end before giving us some juicy tidbits! Loved the ending, but also didn't want it to end!! I can't wait for the next one!!

Not bad...

I struggled to get into this at the beginning despite enjoying a lot of Chandelle's work. The sheer amount "Bro" is said made me feel like I was trapped in frat house hell; I wanted to drop the book after a couple chapters. Despite the annoyance I kept reading and I'd say more than halfway through the story kicks into gear and the characters start to shine and the plot drags you in. I did enjoy the overall story once finished and I do have hopes the next one will be better.

Fatal Fae is the exciting start to this new series!
I thought this was a great story that introduces us to Collins, who finds out that she has to save a whole other realm, no pressure though. I loved the world building and the characters. Bash seems to be nice even though his family has treated him like crap.
This was an action packed read an is great for anyone who loves fantasy books with fae, nephilim, magic and other supernatural characters. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Omg, This 2nd season is amazeballs!!!

Ok, giant BOO to our authors for such a long wait for book two, but I am grinning like a fool for book one! Our heroine, Collins, is the far Stone Keeper, and I am already loving her. And the artists need to bring Bastien to life, because the portrait LaVaun and Montero paint is too beautiful for words!

No spoilers here, just a MASSIVE recommendation to read this, NOW!!!

I've already read the mage part of this series, and I loved it. Book one of this part is good, but frustrating. There are tons of spelling and grammar mistakes that make it difficult to read smoothly. There is also a bit too much similarity in the way that the main characters, both stone keepers in the larger series, speak and think. I just hoped for a bit more proofreading and originality in the way the characters read.

EPIC

Another Amazing series from these 2 brilliant Writers.
This 2nd season to the series was AMAZING. The characters are brilliant just like before. I love reading these books. So many twists and turns. I love that they still include characters from the previous books.
If you haven't read any of the books from these 2 Amazing writters then where have you been? Stuck under a rock maybe? You definitely want to get your nose stuck into these books and the others they have read.

What can you expect when you meet two incredible writers? A hell of a great story. And this new serie introduces us to new wonderful characters while living in a world that we are well acquainted before exploring new settings of a new realm. Besides, we have the opportunity to meet the amazing characters from the previous books. This is a worth deserving trip to make.

Fatel Fae was very enjoyable

Really moved quickly, cant believe her friend was soo ditzy. I'll hold off for book 2. I reduced from 5 stars because Tallalah's grammer was so bad. Sorry, it may be how this new generation speakes, but it dosn't mean i have to approve of it.
Good read otherwise.

Fun Read! Great Characters!

Well written characters with a fast paced story line. If you love reading about Fae and magics, you should check this out! Loving the fact that the story includes those that had history on Earth such as Cleopatra and Helen of Troy. Hoping I can get to the next book asap. Thank you for a great read!
