Mystery and intrigue all set against the unique background of 1920's New York City. After meeting Deidrick and Rose in In The Cards, these star crossed immortal lovers are given their own book to shine culminating in a cliff hanger that will have you begging for more.

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was well developed, the characters were complex and well developed and the story world was detailed. The writing drew me in and I felt immersed in the story! I always look forward to more books by this author and would recommend this book!

Deidrick is a cursed warlock who has one mission in his very long life, he needs to find a way for his soulmate to stay in one body for the rest of time.
Rose reads tarot cards in secret but uses them to get an idea of her future and choices.
Casting a spell to find a soulmate, Rose met Giovanni who she is engaged to marry.
Everything seems to change when one of her cards shows her something different.

This book is set in a very interesting era when flappers, speakeasies and everything you'd expect from the 1920's is the centre.
This combined magic, secrets, lies and love.
The reader is still not given the full story of Rose and Deidrick which causes much intrigue and mystery in my opinion.
They are destined even when a fiancé is in the picture though this is the first time that has apparently occurred.
It seems sad that Deidrick must always search for his lover and I found it rather emotional.

Well Deidrick just can't seem to get things right and Rose just can't seem to figure out what she wants.
Giovanni just seems lost in amongst the lot of it all but Deidrick and Rose have been entwined for a very long time through Rose's many reincarnations.
But Rose seems determined this time to see her own plans through and I would be interested to see if she actually does go through with them.
This time it was set in the 1920's and Rose is torn between memories bombarding her and what she seems to think is real.
Deidrick is still determined to have his love back.
Giovanni, well, he seems to be a bit complicated, or at least his family is.
I am curious to see what the next book brings.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of In The Shadows by Ariel Dawn. Part of The Forevermore series, this read is an interesting tale of love through the ages. Deidrick is immortal and through his magic has bound himself to Rosalie. Rosalie has died over and again only to be reborn and repeat the cycle. This time when Deidrick finds Rosalie she is engaged to another man. But all is not as it appears and there are many more complications standing in their way this time around. Loaded with drama, intrigue, bad plans, vampires and witches, this read pulls you in and then sets up for the next book. Good read, but no resolution...

My curiosity is peaked and would like to know the full story of Deidrick and Rose, two soul-mates. This is the third installment of the series and I probably should have read the first two first. There were flash backs so that helped somewhat to know what was going on; but, I kept waiting for the story to develop faster. That said, I did enjoy what I have read so far and will look forward to reading the first two and the following installments.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Deidrick and Rose. Deidrick has to find a way to break his curse so that he and Rose can be together for eternity. The story keeps you turning the pages with love, mystery and suspense. I suggest you read the series from the beginning so that you have a bit of their backstory. The story ends with a cliffhanger.

Ariel Dawn writes intriguing magic stories with a twist. They are a pair of star crossed lovers who seem to be thwarted in every reincarnation. Everything seems to stand between them. Will this be the time they get it right? Will they finally find each and stay together? Or will she choose another? I loved all the twists! This was fun to read. I am excited to read the next book! Can’t wait!!

I did enjoy this story of Deidrick and Rose, two soul-mates, who battle to be together through many obstacles. Well written with many twists and turns to keep you engrossed and entertained. Unfortunately I have not read the previous two books in the series but I will definitely do so now.
